The microstructural characteristics and paint-bake response of 6022 alloy with 0.3% Cu(mass fraction)were studied using optical microscope,scanning electron microscope(SEM),transmission electron microscope(TEM)and tensile tester.The results indicate that the phase constituents in the as-cast microstructure are Mg2Si,Si,Al5Cu2Mg8Si6,Al5FeSi,α-Al(MnCrFe)Si and CuAl2.During the following homogenization,CuAl2,Al5Cu2Mg8Si6 and Mg2Si phases are almost completely dissolved,and Al5FeSi transforms to α-Al(MnCrFe)Si particles.After rolling,the phase constituents in the alloy change less except the precipitation of Mg2Si particles,and the precipitation behavior of Mg2Si strongly depends on the thermomechanical conditions.Cu addition significantly increases the paint-bake response of 6022 alloy by facilitating the formation of β-" phase.Therefore,the tensile strength of 6022 alloy with 0.3% Cu is higher than that of 6022 alloy without Cu after paint-bake cycle. 展开更多

Paint removal is... Paint removal is a common maintenance requirement for aircraft as well as naval and land vehicles, since external paint gets damaged and loses much of its corrosion protection effectiveness with time. Paint removal is also conducted when metallic aircraft structures are inspected periodically for fatigue cracks and corrosion. The conventional methods of removing paint employed throughout the Canadian Forces mainly include chemical stripping and abrasive media blasting. Chemical stripping involves the use of hazardous chemicals, which are high in Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) and Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAP). Abrasive media blasting typically results in a substantial quantity of solid waste consisting of paint and blast residues. Such waste is subject to control under increasingly stringent environmental and safety regulations and its disposal is costly. The new Atmospheric Plasma (AP) paint removal process purports to be a high chemical energy, low thermal energy (cold plasma process), that should not damage temperature sensitive substructures, such as heat treated aerospace aluminium alloys. Fatigue strength is one of the key properties in aircraft structures. In order for AP paint stripping to be accepted as an aerospace industry standard paint removal process, it must be thoroughly tested to demonstrate that it does not adversely affect the fatigue properties of the substrate. The main objective of this work was to modify the microstructure and enhance the tribological properties of a new Zn-4Si al-loy through a high solidification cooling rate(SCR).According to the results,by increasing the SCR from 2.0 to 59.5℃/s the average size of primary Si particles and that of the grains reduced from 76.1 and 3780μm to less than about 14.6 and 460μm,respectively.Augment-ing the SCR also enhanced the microstructural homogeneity,decreased the porosity content(by 50%),and increased the matrix hardness(by 36%).These microstructural changes enhanced the tribological behavior.For instance,under the applied pressure of 0.5 MPa,an in-crease in the SCR from 2.0 to 59.5℃/s decreased the wear rate and the average friction coefficient of the alloy by 57%and 23%,respect-ively.The wear mechanism was also changed from the severe delamination,adhesion,and abrasion in the slowly-cooled alloy to the mild tribolayer delamination/abrasion in the high-cooling-rate-solidified sample. 展开更多

激光除漆对铝合金基材表面质量的影响

目的研究激光除漆后对铝合金基材表面阳极氧化膜的损伤情况。方法采用纳秒脉冲激光器对涂覆复合漆层的2A12铝合金表面进行激光清洗试验。采用超景深显微镜对清洗后表面形貌与横截面进行观察,利用扫描电子显微镜与能谱仪观察清洗后的微... 目的研究激光除漆后对铝合金基材表面阳极氧化膜的损伤情况。方法采用纳秒脉冲激光器对涂覆复合漆层的2A12铝合金表面进行激光清洗试验。采用超景深显微镜对清洗后表面形貌与横截面进行观察,利用扫描电子显微镜与能谱仪观察清洗后的微观形貌,并利用维氏硬度计对表面显微硬度进行检测。结果选择合适的激光参数能够完全除去复合漆层,当激光功率过高或激光扫描速度较低时,会发生过度清洗现象,清洗后表面的阳极氧化膜层发生损伤,甚至被去除的情况。在激光功率为450、400 W,扫描速度为4.5 mm/s时,清洗后表面的阳极氧化膜层发生破损;在激光功率为450、400 W,扫描速度为4 mm/s时,清洗后表面的阳极氧化膜层已经被去除。在激光功率为500 W,扫描速度为5.5 mm/s,与激光功率为450 W,扫描速度为5 mm/s时,完全去除复合漆层后的阳极氧化膜层表面的平均维氏硬度分别约为211HV与242HV,在工艺参数为450 W、4.5 mm/s时,表面平均维氏硬度约为168HV。结论在激光除漆的过程中,采用合适的激光工艺参数彻底去除漆层后,铝合金表面阳极氧化膜层的显微硬度并未受到影响。在发生过度清洗时,铝合金表面的阳极氧化膜层会发生烧蚀损伤以及弹性振动剥离。 展开更多

目的探究激光除漆对铝合金飞机蒙皮基体近表层(15μm)微观组织的影响规律,阐明近表层微观组织变化与显微硬度的内在联系。方法采用纳秒脉冲红外激光去除2024-T3铝合金飞机蒙皮表面漆层,通过调节激光能量密度,分别除漆至基体阳极氧化层... 目的探究激光除漆对铝合金飞机蒙皮基体近表层(15μm)微观组织的影响规律,阐明近表层微观组织变化与显微硬度的内在联系。方法采用纳秒脉冲红外激光去除2024-T3铝合金飞机蒙皮表面漆层,通过调节激光能量密度,分别除漆至基体阳极氧化层、铝合金、铝合金表面熔融。利用激光扫描共聚焦显微镜(LSCM)表征漆层的剥离程度及基体的表面形貌。通过超景深三维显微镜(OM)、扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、Image-Pro Plus软件表征Keller试剂腐蚀后铝合金基体近表层的微观组织。采用数显显微维氏硬度计测量基体剖面的显微硬度。结果在激光能量密度为4.26 J/cm^(2)时,相较于原始基体,阳极氧化层较完整,其基体的表面粗糙度接近于原始基体(未除漆),近表层的微观组织无明显改变,近表层的显微硬度增加了1.6%。当除漆至铝合金基体表面完整时(15.25 J/cm^(2)),相对于原始基体,其表面粗糙度降低,近表层的微观组织无明显改变,近表层的显微硬度增加了4.8%。在激光能量密度为27.79 J/cm^(2)时,铝合金表面熔融,其表面粗糙度相对于原始基体增大,近表层的晶粒显著细化,其显微硬度增加了17.3%。结论采用合适的激光能量密度对铝合金飞机蒙皮进行激光除漆,不会显著改变其基体近表层的微观组织。在较高能量密度下,铝合金近表层会发生晶粒细化,导致显微硬度显著增加。 展开更多

对铸态Al-25%Si合金进行等通道转角挤压(ECAP),并结合半固态等温处理技术,研究了ECAP挤压及半固态等温处理工艺参数对合金微观组织和室温拉伸性能的影响。利用光学显微镜观察分析微观组织,拉伸试验机测试室温拉伸性能,以及扫描电子显微... 对铸态Al-25%Si合金进行等通道转角挤压(ECAP),并结合半固态等温处理技术,研究了ECAP挤压及半固态等温处理工艺参数对合金微观组织和室温拉伸性能的影响。利用光学显微镜观察分析微观组织,拉伸试验机测试室温拉伸性能,以及扫描电子显微镜分析断口形貌。研究结果表明,ECAP变形能够有效地细化Al-25%Si合金中的初生硅相,其平均直径由铸态的117.9μm降至31.9μm,同时形状因子也由0.12提升至0.40。ECAP后的常温力学性能也得到明显提升,其抗拉强度也由铸态的96 MPa提升至200 MPa,伸长率由1.04%提升至3.25%。在半固态加热过程中,初生硅的形状因子随等温温度的提升和时间的延长呈先增后降的趋势。在590℃保温10min,其形状因子最高为0.62。 展开更多

The microstructural features of hypoeutectic AI-10%Si alloy were observed using optical microscopy and electron backscatter diffraction. The results show that primary silicon particles are frequently found in hypoeutectic alloys. Hence, the nucleation and growth mechanisms of the precipitation of primary silicon of hypoeutectic Al-10%Si alloy melts were investigated. It was discovered that Si atoms are easy to segregate and form Si-Si clusters, which results in the formation of primary silicon even in eutectic or hypoeutectic Al-Si alloys. In addition, solute redistribution caused by chemical driving force and large pile-ups or micro-segregation of the solute play an important role in the formation of the primary silicon, and the solute redistribution equations were derived from Jackson-Chalmers equations. Once Si solute concentration exceeds eutectic composition, primary silicon precipitates are formed at the front of solid/liquid interface. 展开更多

Evolution of microstructure and stress corrosion cracking (SCC) susceptibility of 7050 aluminum alloy with 0.094%, 0.134% and 0.261% Si (mass fraction) in T7651 condition have been investigated. The results show that the area fraction of Mg2Si increases from 0.16% to 1,48% and the size becomes coarser, while the area fraction of the other coarse phases including Al2CuMg, Mg(Al,Cu,Zn)2 and A17Cu2Fe decreases from 2.42% to 0.78% with Si content increasing from 0.094% to 0.261%. The tensile strength and elongation of 7050-T7651 alloys is decreased with the increase of Si content by slow strain rate test (SSRT) in ambient air. However, electrical conductivity is improved and SCC susceptibility is reduced with the increase of Si content by SSRT in corrosion environment with 3.5% NaCl solution. 展开更多

The effect of cooling rate of the solidification process on the following solution heat treatment of A356 alloy was investigated,where the cooling rates of 96 K/s and 3 K/s were obtained by the step-like metal mold.Then the eutectic silicon morphology evolution and tensile properties of the alloy samples were observed and analyzed after solution heat treatment at 540 °C for different time.The results show that the high cooling rate of the solidification process can not only reduce the solid solution heat treatment time to rapidly modify the eutectic silicon morphology,but also improve the alloy tensile properties.Specially,it is found that the disintegration,the spheroidization and coarsening of eutectic silicon of A356 alloy are completed during solution heat treatment through two stages,i.e.,at first,the disintegration and spheroidization of the eutectic silicon mainly takes place,then the eutectic silicon will coarsen. 展开更多

For the compromise of mechanical properties and product cost, the end-chilled sand casting technique was applied to studying the microstructure evolution of A356 Al alloy with cooling rate and the effect of different as-cast microstructures on the subsequent solution-treatment process. The experimental results show that the secondary dendrite arm spacing (SDAS) of primaryα(Al), the size of eutectic Si and the volume fraction of Al?Si eutectic are reduced with increasing the cooling rate. Eutectic Si, subjected to solution treatment at 540 °C for 1 h followed by water quenching to room temperature, is completely spheroidized at cooling rate of 2.6 K/s; is partially spheroidized atcooling rate of 0.6 K/s; and is only edge-rounded at cooling rates of 0.22 and 0.12 K /s. Whilst the microhardness is also the maximum at cooling rate of 2.6 K/s. It consequently suggests that subjected to modification by high cooling rate, the eutectic Si is more readily modified, thus shortening the necessary solution time at given solution temperature, i.e., reducing the product cost. 展开更多

The electronic packaging box with high silicon aluminum-base alloy was prepared by semi-solid thixoforming technique.The flow characteristic of the Si phase was analyzed.The microstructures of different parts of the box were observed by optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy,and the thermophysical and mechanical properties of the box were tested.The results show that there exists the segregation phenomenon between the primary Si phase and the liquid phase during thixoforming,the liquid phase flows from the box,and the primary Si phase accumulates at the bottom of the box.The volume fraction of primary Si phase decreases gradually from the bottom to the walls.Accordingly,the thermal conductivities of bottom center and walls are 107.6 and 131.5 W/(m·K),the coefficients of thermal expansion(CTE) are 7.9×10-6 and 10.6×10-6 K-1,respectively.The flexural strength increases slightly from 167 to 180 MPa.The microstructures and properties of the box show gradient distribution overall. 展开更多

Effect of silicon on the phase selection between τ phase(Mg32(Al,Zn)49) and φ phase(Al2Mg5Zn2) in ZA84(Mg-8Zn-4Al-0.3Mn) magnesium alloy produced by steel mold cast was studied using X-ray diffractometer,scanning electron microscope and differential scanning calorimeter.The results show that with increasing Si addition in ZA84 alloy,the liquidus temperatures of the alloys and the solidification temperature ranges decrease.The ternary compound in ZA84 alloy is mainly τ phase and a little φ phase.When adding Si to ZA84 alloy,the preferential precipitation sequence of the ternary compounds changes,φ phase preferentially forms,whereas τ phase is suppressed.The solidification kinetics study of phase selection indicates that there is a critical degree of undercooling of the melt.If the undercooling exceeds the critical degree,τ phase preferentially forms while φ phase is suppressed;otherwise,φ phase preferentially forms while τ phase is suppressed. 展开更多

Dislocation evolution process of α(Al) matrix with [011] orientation of Al-Si-Mg alloy specimens was observed during fatigue process under different stress amplitudes and cycles. The results indicate that dislocation structure is closely dependent on stress amplitudes, and the density of dislocation in failure specimens increases with increasing stress amplitudes. The results show that Mg2Si and secondary silicon phase could have a strong hindrance effect on the movement of dislocations during the fatigue process. The fatigue behavior is strongly dependent on the microstructure of material. 展开更多

Amorphous U-core used to make reactor cut sharply ed-dy current loss due to high electrical resistivity characteristic, thickness of thin ribbon and insulation of dipping paint. The amorphous alloy has high and constant magnetic permeability, and is more suitable for reactor design power to filter high order harmonic component. Keeping off high magnetostriction district with magnetic flux density of 50-100 mT can weaken influence on inductance of inductor due to elongation of magnetostriction. Amorphous al-loy has a lower temperature rise using the software Infolytica 7.2 simulation. 展开更多

通过空间综合辐照模拟设备对能量小于200 keV质子辐照下ZnO/silicone白漆光学性能变化及损伤机理进行研究。结果表明,ZnO/silicone白漆的光学性能退化主要发生在可见光区,太阳吸收比随质子辐照能量、注量的增加而增大。借助傅里叶变换... 通过空间综合辐照模拟设备对能量小于200 keV质子辐照下ZnO/silicone白漆光学性能变化及损伤机理进行研究。结果表明,ZnO/silicone白漆的光学性能退化主要发生在可见光区,太阳吸收比随质子辐照能量、注量的增加而增大。借助傅里叶变换红外光谱分析技术研究了质子辐照ZnO/silicone白漆时有机硅树脂的光学性能退化机理。质子辐照使ZnO/silicone白漆中游离氧含量增加,氧化硅原子上的有机取代基使Si—C链断裂,并生成活性羟基,而这种活性羟基能促使有机硅树脂内Si—O—Si键的裂解。同时Si—O—Si链内氧原子未成键的孤对电子与邻近硅原子的3d空轨道配位,降低了π*轨道的能量,提高了对光吸收的几率,增强了n→π*电子跃迁,使吸收带红移,从而导致ZnO/silicone白漆光学性能退化。 展开更多
