The Taihu Lake,a large shallow lake in the floodplain of the Changjiang(Yangtze) River in the eastern China,is faced with challenging ecological problems resulting from eutrophication,which has affected the regional freshwater supply of a large population.Although efforts have been made to assess the nutrient evolution histories in the northern bays,little is known regarding nutrient histories in different parts across the entire lake basin.In this paper,we present nutrient histories for different parts of the lake based on chironomid transfer functions applied to four short cores obtained from the northern,western and eastern regions of the lake.The chironomid-inferred total phosphorus(CI-TP) concentrations were compared with the phosphorus concentrations obtained by using instrumental and sedimentary data.The results suggest that trophic evolution histories were asynchronous throughout the lake during the past decades in response to different ecological regimes controlled by the nutrient input,wind direction and shoreline topography.The restoration of aquatic plants may be an effective option for the management of lake rehabilitation to ′natural′ conditions.Given the multiple factors controlling the biotic communities in such a large and complex lake,combined analyses among the multi-proxies encountered in the sediments are necessary for comprehensive insight into paleolimnological studies.The spatial heterogeneity in the ecological trajectories within this complicated ecosystem suggests that different management practices should be undertaken for specific lake zones in the Taihu Lake. 展开更多

However, for early design space exploration, simulators with less complexity, high simulation speed and reasonable accuracy are desired. It is also required that these simulators have a short development time and that changes in the design require less effort in the implementation in order to perform experiments and see the effects of changes in the design. These simulators are termed high-level simulators in the context of computer architecture. In this paper, we present multiple levels of abstractions in a high-level simulation of a general-purpose many-core system, where the objective of every level is to improve the accuracy in simulation without significantly affecting the complexity and simulation speed. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Osteonecrosis of the femoral head(ONFH)is a destructive condition most commonly affecting young and middle-aged patients.The leading consequence of ONFH is often a significant articular disability.Effective joint-preserving surgical treatments are urgently needed for patients with early stage ONFH when outcomes of treatment are in general better than the advanced stage disease.AIM To introduce a new surgery procedure called percutaneous expanded core decompression and mixed bone graft technique,which is a new way of jointpreserving surgical treatments.METHODS The clinical data of 6 patients with ONFH diagnosed and treated with the procedure called percutaneous expanded core decompression and mixed bone graft technique at The First Hospital of Qiqihar from March 2013 to August 2019 were retrospectively analyzed;the follow-up ended in December 2019.RESULTS There were 6 male patients with an average age of 43 years in our study.Gratifying results have been obtained from the comparison of Harris hip score,visual analogue scale,and imaging examination before and after operation.CONCLUSION This new modified technique is simple,safe,and reliable.No serious perioperative complications were observed in our cases.Advantages of the single blade expandable reamer are obvious.The adjuvant substance is inexpensive and easy to obtain.Thus,this technique is an effective joint-preserving surgical treatment for patients with early stage of ONFH. 展开更多

The multiple emulsion was a w/o/w emulsion, made of diammonium phosphate solution as an inner aqueous phase, cyclohexane as an oil phase, and calcium nitrate solution and chitosan solution as an outer aqueous. The forming mechanism of core-shell spheres and the influence of temperature on the morphology of the nanospheres were investigated. The diameter of the resulting core-shell nanospheres was 100-200 nm and the thickness of the chitosan shell was about 10 nm. And it concluded that at different reaction temperature the morphologies of the products would be changed. The core-shell nanospheres have potential applications for the development of new biomedical materials. 展开更多

Refractory Black Carbon Results and a Method Comparison between Solid-state Cutting and Continuous Melting Sampling of a West Antarctic Snow and Firn Core

This work presents the refractory black carbon(rBC)results of a snow and firn core drilled in West Antarctica(79°55'34.6"S,94°21'13.3"W)during the 2014?15 austral summer,collected by Brazilian researchers as part of the First Brazilian West Antarctic Ice Sheet Traverse.The core was drilled to a depth of 20 m,and we present the results of the first 8 m by comparing two subsampling methods—solid-state cutting and continuous melting—both with discrete sampling.The core was analyzed at the Department of Geological Sciences,Central Washington University(CWU),WA,USA,using a single particle soot photometer(SP2)coupled to a CETAC Marin-5 nebulizer.The continuous melting system was recently assembled at CWU and these are its first results.We also present experimental results regarding SP2 reproducibility,indicating that sample concentration has a greater influence than the analysis time on the reproducibility for low rBC concentrations,like those found in the Antarctic core.Dating was carried out using mainly the rBC variation and sulfur,sodium and strontium as secondary parameters,giving the core 17 years(1998?2014).The data show a well-defined seasonality of rBC concentrations for these first meters,with geometric mean summer/fall concentrations of 0.016μg L^?1 and geometric mean winter/spring concentrations of 0.063μg L^?1.The annual rBC concentration geometric mean was 0.029μg L^?1(the lowest of all rBC cores in Antarctica referenced in this work),while the annual rBC flux was 6.1μg m^?2 yr^?1(the lowest flux in West Antarctica records so far). 展开更多

In this manuscript, we describe the novel method for preparing the microcapsules containing α-tocopherol oil droplets as the first core material, calcium chloride powder as the second core material and the fine water droplets as the third core material by the interfacial condensation reaction between hydroxyl propyl methyl cellulose and tannic acid. The interfacial condensation reaction was performed between hydroxyl propyl methyl cellulose dissolved in the continuous water phase and tannic acid dissolved in the inner fine water droplets as the third core material. The calcium chloride powder as the second core material was dispersed in the α-tocopherol oil droplet as the first core material beforehand. The α-tocopherol oil containing the second and the third core materials was dispersed in the continuous water phase to form the [(S + W)/O/W] emulsion. The α-tocopherol oil as the first core material was microencapsulated satisfactorily and the contents of the second core material were increased with the concentration of stearic acid as the oil soluble stabilizer. The mechanical strength of microcapsules increased with the concentration of hydroxyl propyl methyl cellulose. Thermal energy could be released by breaking the microcapsules in water and by dissolving calcium chloride in the continuous water phase. 展开更多

Analysis of Linear and Nonlinear Vibrations of Composite Rectangular Sandwich Plates with Lattice Cores

For the first time,the linear and nonlinear vibrations of composite rectangular sandwich plates with various geometric patterns of lattice core have been analytically examined in this work.The plate comprises a lattice core located in the middle and several homogeneous orthotropic layers that are symmetrical relative to it.For this purpose,the partial differential equations of motion have been derived based on the first-order shear deformation theory,employing Hamilton’s principle and Von Kármán’s nonlinear displacement-strain relations.Then,the nonlinear partial differential equations of the plate are converted into a time-dependent nonlinear ordinary differential equation(Duffing equation)by applying the Galerkin method.From the solution of this equation,the natural frequencies are extracted.Then,to calculate the non-linear frequencies of the plate,the non-linear equation of the plate has been solved analytically using the method of multiple scales.Finally,the effect of some critical parameters of the system,such as the thickness,height,and different angles of the stiffeners on the linear and nonlinear frequencies,has been analyzed in detail.To confirmthe solution method,the results of this research have been compared with the reported results in the literature and finite elements in ABAQUS,and a perfect match is observed.The results reveal that the geometry and configuration of core ribs strongly affect the natural frequencies of the plate. 展开更多

定向钻进连续取心钻具设计及取心参数仿真分析

在战略性矿产资源勘探取样过程中,传统的垂直孔面临着单孔投资高、获取地质信息有限等难题,无法满足高效增储勘探的需求。为此,基于绳索取心和定向钻井技术,设计了一种定向钻进连续取心钻具,能够高效精准的获取地下三维空间的地质岩心... 在战略性矿产资源勘探取样过程中,传统的垂直孔面临着单孔投资高、获取地质信息有限等难题,无法满足高效增储勘探的需求。为此,基于绳索取心和定向钻井技术,设计了一种定向钻进连续取心钻具,能够高效精准的获取地下三维空间的地质岩心。针对该技术在硬岩中钻进效率低、钻具易折断、岩心难以连续获取等技术难点,采用仿真模拟的方法分别研究了钻压、转速、造斜率对定向取心钻进的影响。仿真分析结果表明,钻压、转速与钻进速度、造斜率和弯接头应力成正比,当钻压>30 kN、转速>230 r/min时即可满足6°/30 m的造斜需求。综合考虑钻具使用寿命,优选钻压为25~30 kN,转速为230~300 r/min。随着造斜率增大,岩心与岩心管之间的接触应力也随之变大,但最终的接触应力会保持在稳定范围内。当造斜率为9°/30 m时,最大的接触应力为514.7 MPa,均小于岩心管材质的屈服强度。上述仿真模拟为定向钻进连续取心钻具的钻进参数与造斜能力协调优化提供理论支撑。 展开更多

Due to the huge size of patterns to be searched,multiple pattern searching remains a challenge to several newly-arising applications like network intrusion detection.In this paper,we present an attempt to design efficient multiple pattern searching algorithms on multi-core architectures.We observe an important feature which indicates that the multiple pattern matching time mainly depends on the number and minimal length of patterns.The multi-core algorithm proposed in this paper leverages this feature to decompose pattern set so that the parallel execution time is minimized.We formulate the problem as an optimal decomposition and scheduling of a pattern set,then propose a heuristic algorithm,which takes advantage of dynamic programming and greedy algorithmic techniques,to solve the optimization problem.Experimental results suggest that our decomposition approach can increase the searching speed by more than 200% on a 4-core AMD Barcelona system. 展开更多

Nanoparticles succeeded to enhance the dielectric properties of industrial insulation but the presence of voids inside the power cable insulation still leads to formation high electrical stress inside power cable insulation material and collapse.In this paper,the dielectric strength of new design nanocomposites has been deduced as experimental work done to clarify the benefit of filling nanoparticles with different patterns inside dielectrics.Also,it has been studied the effect of electrical stress distribution in presence of air,water and copper impurities with different shapes(cylinder,sphere and ellipse)inside insulation of single core.In simulation model,it has been used finite element method(FEM)for estimating the electrostatic field distribution in power cable insulation.It has been applied new strategies of nanotechnology techniques for designing innovative polyvinyl chloride insula-tion materials by using nanocomposites and multi-nanocomposites.Finally,this research succeeded to remedy different partial discharges(PD)patterns according to using certain types and concentrations of nanoparticles. 展开更多
