ACPRs of leukopenia in peripheral blood of workers exposed to benzene in small-scale industries are calculated using capture-recapture methods. The results from two figures with 6-month apart demonstrate that the ACPR in workers exposed to benzene is 36.81(29. 14-44.48)%, significantly higher than that of control 12.71(7.20-18.22)% (P<0.05),with a relative risk of 2.9. The prevalences of 4 cross-sectional investigations in exposure group calculated with routine method are 18.73%, 26.37%, 27.93%, and 36.76% respectively;in controls, 8.38%, 6.85%, 7.94%, and 15.00% respectively and all fall in the range of 95% CI of ACPR. It is suggested that the methods of calculating ACPR by capture-recapture methods is simple, feasible and efficient, with the results more precise than with traditional methods. 展开更多

Based on the paraxial wave equation,this study extends the theory of small-scale self-focusing(SSSF)from coherent beams to spatially partially coherent beams(PCBs)and derives a general theoretical equation that reveals the underlying physics of the reduction in the B-integral of spatially PCBs.From the analysis of the simulations,the formula for the modulational instability(MI)gain coefficient of the SSSF of spatially PCBs is obtained by introducing a decrease factor into the formula of the MI gain coefficient of the SSSF of coherent beams.This decrease can be equated to a drop in the injected light intensity or an increase in the critical power.According to this formula,the reference value of the spatial coherence of spatially PCBs is given,offering guidance to overcome the output power limitation of the high-power laser driver due to SSSF. 展开更多

Performance Evaluation of Short Parabolic Trough Collectors Integrated with a Small-Scale Solar Power and Heating System

An investigation is presented on the performance of a small-scale solar power and heating system with short parabolic trough collectors(PTCs). The steady-state model of the short PTCs is evaluated with outside experiments. The model mainly contains the heat loss of the receiver, the peak optical efficiency and the incident angle factor consisting of incident angle modifier and end loss. It is found that the end loss effect is essential in this model when the length of the PTCs is less than 48 m, especially in the winter. The standard deviation of the steady-state model is 1.4%. Moreover, the potential energy efficiency ratio of the solar power and heating system is considerably larger than the coefficient of performance(COP) of general air-source heat pumps, and increases with the decrease of the condensation temperature. An overall system efficiency of 49% can be reached. Lastly,the existence of a water storage tank improves the flexibility of heating the building, and the volume of the water storage tank decreases with the increase of the heating water temperature. 展开更多
