Hybrid Algorithm-Driven Smart Logistics Optimization in IoT-Based Cyber-Physical Systems

Effectively managing complex logistics data is essential for development sustainability and growth,especially in optimizing distribution routes.This article addresses the limitations of current logistics path optimization methods,such as inefficiencies and high operational costs.To overcome these drawbacks,we introduce the Hybrid Firefly-Spotted Hyena Optimization(HFSHO)algorithm,a novel approach that combines the rapid exploration and global search abilities of the Firefly Algorithm(FO)with the localized search and region-exploitation skills of the Spotted Hyena Optimization Algorithm(SHO).HFSHO aims to improve logistics path optimization and reduce operational costs.The algorithm’s effectiveness is systematically assessed through rigorous comparative analyses with established algorithms like the Ant Colony Algorithm(ACO),Cuckoo Search Algorithm(CSA)and Jaya Algo-rithm(JA).The evaluation also employs benchmarking methodologies using standardized function sets covering diverse objective functions,including Schwefel’s,Rastrigin,Ackley,Sphere and the ZDT and DTLZ Function suite.HFSHO outperforms these algorithms,achieving a minimum path distance of 546 units,highlighting its prowess in logistics path optimization.This comprehensive evaluation authenticates HFSHO’s exceptional performance across various logistic optimization scenarios.These findings emphasize the critical significance of selecting an appropriate algorithm for logistics path navigation,with HFSHO emerging as an efficient choice.Through the synergistic use of FO and SHO,HFSHO achieves a 15%improvement in convergence,heightened operational efficiency and substantial cost reductions in logistics operations.It presents a promising solution for optimizing logistics paths,offering logistics planners and decision-makers valuable insights and contributing substantively to sustainable sectoral growth. 展开更多

Intelligent transformation of manufacturers requires smart logistics transformation collaboration,which improves competitiveness.In this study,we construct a Stackelberg game model based on the mutual influence and restriction in the relationship between a manufacturer and a logistics service provider(LSP)undergoing smart logistics transformation.We investigate whether cost-sharing(CS)or revenue-sharing(RS)contracts can coordinate the supply chain and suggest a hybrid CSeRS contract to improve performance.We find that,compared with decentralized options,CS and RS contracts achieve a higher level of smart logistics transformation.While the coordination and effectiveness of CS contracts are superior to those of RS contracts,neither can fully coordinate the supply chain.The proposed hybrid CSeRS contract allows the manufacturer to share the LSP’s costs before the transformation and its partial revenue after transformation,so that the LSP can reduce its service charge,thereby achieving full supply chain coordination. 展开更多

The blockchain-enabled smart logistics market is expected to grow worth USD 1620 billion and at a compound annual growth rate of 62.4%.Smart logistics ensures intelligence infrastructure,logistics automation,real-time analysis of supply chain data synchronization of the logistics process,cost transparency,unbroken shipment tracking all the way down to the transportation route,etc.In the smart logistics domain,significant advancement and growth of the Internet of Things(IoT)sensors are evident.However,the connectivity of IoT systems,including Tactile Internet,without proper safeguards creates vulnerabilities that can still be deliberately or inadvertently cause disruption.In view of this,we primarily notice two key issues.Firstly,the logistics domain can be compromised by a variety of natural or man-made activities,which eventually affect the overall network security.Secondly,there are thousands of entities in the supply chain network that use extensive machine-learning algorithms in many scenarios,and they require high-power computational resources.From these two challenges,we note that the first concern can be addressed by adding blockchain to IoT logistic networks.The second issue can be addressed using 6G.This will support 1-μs latency communications,support seamless computing at the edges of networks,and autonomously predict the best optimal location for edge computing.Motivated by this,we have highlighted motivational examples to show the necessity to integrate 6G and blockchain in smart logistic networks.Then,we have proposed a 6G and blockchain-enabled smart logistic high-level framework.We have presented the key intrinsic issues of this framework mainly from the security and resource management context.In this paper,recent state-of-the-art advances in blockchain enabled next-generation smart logistic networks are analyzed.We have also examined why 6G and not 5G would be compatible with the smart network.We have introduced five different use cases of blockchain technology in smart logistics.Later,this paper discusses some important concerns that blockchain in smart logistics might face.We have also provided potential solutions to tackle these concerns. 展开更多
