The effect, which is related to basicity, reduction temperature, carbon-oxygen ratio and time of ventilated oxygen to iron recovery, dephosphorization rate, content of iron, phosphorus, sulfur and titanium in pig iron, was investigated in the experiment. The results show that an ideal outcome can be gained in condition of 6:4 ration on Mengqiao concentrate and Huimin iron ore, temperature of 1 500℃, basicity of 1.3, 1.0 on molar ration of carbon to oxygen, time of 10 min on blowing-oxygen. The outcome is that there is no foamy slag in generation, a good separation of slag and iron, iron recovery with 91.41%, content of phosphorus with 0.27% and tilanium content less than 0.001%, The atmosphere of strong oxidizing in the upper of reduction container and high potential of oxygen in the composition of slag in this technique bring phosphorus, titanium and silicon into slag, which ensures less content of impurity in pig iron.展开更多

Both the internal temperature and the microstructure evolution of the briquettes were analyzed by differential thermal analysis, scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive spectrum analysis, and the smelting reduction mechanism of the carbon-bearing manganese briquettes in the slag bath was further elaborated. The results indicated that the smelting reduction of the briquettes in the slag bath could be divided into three stages, and the aggregation and growth of the metallic particles during the reduction were significantly affected by the slag temperature. Under the experimental conditions, the reduction speed at the initial stage of the carbon-bearing manganese briquettes smelting reduction was controlled by the chemical reaction, whereas the reaction speeds at both the middle and following stages were limited by gaseous diffusion.展开更多

Much more details on smelting were discussed. Specifically, the influence of reduction temperature, slag basicity and molar ratio of carbon to oxygen on the reduction quality level including iron recovery and titanium and sulfur contents in the pig iron produced in the experiment was investigated. Iron recovery rate could reach 95 % with titanium content below 0.05 % in pig iron produced, under the conditions of holding time of 30 min at 1 823 K, basicity of 1.1, carbon to oxygen molar ratio of 1.0 and oxygen enriched flow rate of 250 L/h. Oxidization potential of top-space of smelting reduction vessel and slag combination could create the driv ing force to partition phosphorous, titanium and silicon into the slag, which ensured low contents of the impurities involved above and carbon in pig iron. In addition, it avoided the generation of Ti(C,N) that could reduce interracial tension of slag, which induced the formation of foaming slag seriously. Furthermore, jam of chargings and bubble flooding would be triggered, resulting in deterioration of BF state, increase of iron loss and decline of desulfurization rate.展开更多

Direct reduced iron( DRI) with a high Fe content, low TiO_2 content and low iron recovery was obtained after adding sodium sulfate. When the sodium sulfate dosage was increased from 0 to 10 mass%,the Fe content of the DRI increased from 90. 00 mass% to 93. 55 mass% and the TiO_2 content decreased from 1. 27 mass% to 0. 70 mass%. The reduction mechanism of sodium sulfate was investigated by X-ray diffraction( XRD) and scanning electron microscopy( SEM) with energy dispersive spectrometer( EDS). Results revealed that the metallic iron grains in the reduced ore with sodium sulfate were larger than those in the ore without sodium sulfate. Sodium sulfate promoted the migration of iron as well as the accumulation and growth of metallic iron grains by low-melting-point carnegieite and troilite formed in the redox system. Low-melting-point carnegieite decreased the melting point of the system and then promoted liquefaction. Troilite could decrease the surface tension and melting point of metallic iron grains.展开更多

To address this issue, the reduction of SSD briquettes can be employed to effectively extract chromium. The recovery rates of iron, chromium, and nickel via ironbath reduction of SSD briquettes were determined using X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy measurements. First, the effects of basicity and contents of silicon, iron, CaF2, and carbon on the recovery rates of the three metals were analyzed using the slag amount prediction model, which was originally established from the A1203 balance of corundum crucible erosion behavior. Second, the effect of feeding mode, i.e., whether steel scrap and SSD briquettes were simultaneously added, on the recovery rates was discussed in detail. Third, the iron-bath reduction of SSD briquettes was thermodynamically analyzed. The results indicated that the recovery rates of the three metals are greater than 95% those of using a basicity of 1.5 and 6.0% CaF2, 15% carbon, and 7% ferrosilicon. The recovery rate of chromium increases twofold with the addition of ferrosilicon. The feeding mode of adding briquettes and steel scrap simultaneously is better for recovery of metals and separation of the metal and slag than the feeding mode of adding steel scrap firstly and then briquettes.展开更多

Processing mineralogy and mineral phase reconstruction behavior at high temperature and slow cooling treatment were examined by chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD), optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energydispersive spectroscopy (EDS). Anosovite solid solution is the main titanium product by the direct reduction and smelting process. Results of slow-cooling experiments show that crystal volume and size increase as cooling rate decreases. Anosovite and gangue mineral crystals develop fully with large crystal volume and size at a cooling rate of 2 K.min-1. Moreover, the growth of anosovite crystal was characterized by crystal nucleation and growth theory. These results provide further insights into the separation of anosovite from gangue by mineral processing.展开更多

In recent years, a number of crucible lead production sites of the Liao-Jin-Yuan periods(tenth–fourteenth centuries CE) have been found in northern China, providing opportunities for the study of the technology. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of this technology based on the historical and archaeological evidence, with particular emphasis on the crucibles used. Firstly, it reviews the historical records on crucible lead smelting, and introduces, in detail, the technology used in Gansu during the Qing period(1644–1911) as well as indigenous methods used in the twentieth century;secondly, it summarizes the discoveries of crucible lead smelting sites in recent years, and reconstructs the manufacturing of crucibles and the iron reduction method by analysis of the crucible and slag;finally, it expounds the technical characteristics of crucible lead smelting, and explores the origin and development of the technology.展开更多

文摘A numerical model of an iron bath smelting reduction furnace with side-bottom combined blowing was established to study the influence of blowing arrangements on the stirring effect of the molten pool, and the accuracy of numerical simulation was verified by water model experiment.By comparing the flow field of molten pool with single nozzle, double nozzles(symmetrical and asymmetrical),and four nozzles(symmetrical and asymmetrical),the proportion of dead zone, average turbulent kinetic energy, and mixing time, the results show that asymmetrical bottom blowing is better than symmetrical bottom blowing, and the effect of double nozzles bottom blowing was better than that of four nozzles bottom blowing. The mixing effect is the worst under the condition of single nozzle. When the bottom blowing is asymmetrical with double nozzles, the mixing time is the shortest.Under the condition of double nozzles asymmetrical bottom blowing, when the insertion angle and depth of side lance are larger and deeper, the velocity streamline of molten slag layer is denser and the value is larger;meanwhile, the reflux of molten iron layer is larger, the proportion of dead zone is smaller, and the whole molten pool is fully stirred. When the insertion depth of the side lance is deeper, the gas holdup in the molten pool is greater and the stirring of the molten pool is more intense, while the insertion angle has little effect on the gas holdup.By comparing the influence of different side blowing conditions on the slag layer,it is found that the slag layer is divided into two layers by double-layer side lance, with the critical surface of the slag layer at about 200-260 mm from the bottom, and the insertion depth of the lower side lance has a greater influence on the layering of the slag.

文摘Isothermal thermogravimetric analysis was used to study the reduction process of solid/liquid wustite by hydrogen. Results show that wustite in both states can be reduced entirely at all temperatures. The thermal and kinetic conditions for the hydrogen reduction of molten phases are better than those when the reactants and products are in the solid state, with a higher reaction rate. The hydrogen reduction of different wustite phases fits the Mampel Power model(power exponent n=1/2)well,and this model is independent of the phase state. The average apparent activation energies of the reduction process calculated by the iso-conversional method are 5.85 kJ·mol^(−1) and 104.74 kJ·mol^(−1),when both reactants and products are in the solid state and the molten state, respectively. These values generally agree with those calculated by the model fitting method.

文摘To recover metal from copper slags,a new process involving two steps of oxidative desulfurization followed by smelting reduction was proposed in which one hazardous waste(waste cathode carbon)was used to treat another(copper slags). The waste cathode carbon is used not only as a reducing agent but also as a fluxing agent to decrease slag melting point.Upon holding for 60 min in air atmosphere first and then smelting with 14.4 wt%waste cathode carbon and 25 wt%CaO for 180 min in high purity Ar atmosphere at 1450℃,the recovery rates of Cu and Fe reach 95.89%and 94.64%,respectively,and meanwhile greater than 90%of the fluoride from waste cathode carbon is transferred into the final slag as CaF_(2) and Ca_(2)Si_(2)F_(2)O_(7),which makes the content of soluble F in the slag meet the national emission standard.Besides, the sulphur content in the obtained Fe-Cu alloy is low to 0.03 wt%.
文摘The processes of fine iron ore reduced in fluidized bed have been reviewed in this paper, the superiorities and limitations of the processes of direct reduction,pre-reduction in fluidized bed have also been comprehensively analysed, which matches with bath smelting furnace or coke bed type furnace. The analysis has also been made on several controversial topics, and the gas use ratio has been point out to be the key of the competition of the reduction process in fluidized bed.The suitability with final reduction furnace is also important to the energy saving in the whole smelting reduction process.

文摘The effect of sodium sulfate on direct reduction of beach titanomagnetite, followed by magnetic separation,to separate iron and titanium was investigated. Troilite could decrease the surface tension and melting point of metallic iron grains.

文摘The leaching of chromium from stainless steel dust (SSD) is deleterious to the environment. The feeding mode of adding briquettes and steel scrap simultaneously is better for recovery of metals and separation of the metal and slag than the feeding mode of adding steel scrap firstly and then briquettes.

文摘Titanium slag in this study was produced by subjecting titanomagnetite concentrate to direct reductionelectric furnace smelting. These results provide further insights into the separation of anosovite from gangue by mineral processing.

文摘Crucible lead smelting, a traditional technology unique to China, refers to the production of lead by reducing lead sulfide with iron metal in crucibles. Firstly, it reviews the historical records on crucible lead smelting, and introduces, in detail, the technology used in Gansu during the Qing period(1644–1911) as well as indigenous methods used in the twentieth century;secondly, it summarizes the discoveries of crucible lead smelting sites in recent years, and reconstructs the manufacturing of crucibles and the iron reduction method by analysis of the crucible and slag;finally, it expounds the technical characteristics of crucible lead smelting, and explores the origin and development of the technology.
