The socioeconomic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has prompted several companies to take on CSR initiatives. The objective of this study was to investigate CSR initiatives implemented in companies specializing in pharmaceutical and biomedical products as well as medical equipment, prior and during the COVID-19 pandemic. A cross-sectional study was conducted in companies of the Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies (SFEE), the Panhellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Industry (PEF) and the Association of Health-Research and Biotechnology Industry (SEIV). A self-administered questionnaire was distributed to a total of 112 companies. Descriptive and multivariate statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 25.0. Levels of significance were two-tailed and statistical significance was set at p = 0.05. The final sample consisted of 74 companies with a response rate of 77.7%. Among them 62.2% were multinational and 37.8% national companies. Some companies provided pharmaceuticals (40.5%), medical equipment and biotechnology products (32.4%) and others were specializing in both categories (27.1%). A percentage equal to 89.2% stated that they implemented CSR activities, out of which 75.7% carried out COVID-19 related initiatives, such as in public health (37.7%), societal issues (27.2%), environment (19.9%), etc. Approximately 50% increased their CSR activities during the pandemic. Moreover, the majority of companies devoted ≤30% of their total CSR budget against the pandemic. The higher a company’s turnover, the higher CSR activities performance. Pharmaceutical and biomedical companies in Greece implemented CSR actions, prior and during the pandemic. Companies contributed to handle the effects of health crisis through CSR Covid-19 related activities, which differentiated according to company’s culture and wealth. It is important that authorities should reward companies carrying out CSR initiatives, given that they positively contribute to the societal recovery by financially supporting the health care sector and the overall economy.展开更多

A new electronic-commerce segment known as social commerce has evolved due to the popularity of social media. Consumer trust is important to social commerce success and impacts purchase choices. In modern times, majority of businesses have changed how from the traditional businesses and migrated to social commerce. Electronic commerce was the first of its sort, followed by social commerce, which conducted business via social networking platforms. Identifying the factors that influence social commerce use enables businesses to enhance those features and boost revenue. Thus, the purpose of this study was to examine how increased technology usage influences the social commerce activities of Ghanaian businessmen and women. A review of the literature resulted in the development of a conceptual model. Six hundred and twenty-five responses from Ghanaian enterprises and women who use e-commerce platforms were used to assess the conceptual approach. Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS SEM) was used to validate the model. The reliability and validity of the measuring apparatus were determined using measurement model analysis. To examine the model’s fit and assumptions, we used structural model analysis. Five hypotheses were supported by the structural model data. Effort Expectancy, Perceived Ease of Use, Performance Expectancy, Perceived Utility, and Trust were shown to be the most influential criteria affecting behavioral intention to use s-commerce in Ghana. The findings of this research have major significance for academics and practitioners of social trade.展开更多

The data was collected by using a learning achievement test before and after implementing social media in the course and a questionnaire for students concerning their opinions regarding implementing social media with the course. The data was analyzed by finding percentage, mean, standard deviation (SD), t-test dependent, and behavioral observation. The result showed that (I) the post-study achievement of 38 students was significantly higher than pre-study achievement with a statistical significance of .05; (2) the students "mostly agreed" on implementing social media with the course (μ = 4.40, σ = .37). After considering in each aspect, it was found that the three aspects that reached highest score respectively were overall image of implementing social media in classes (μ= 4.74, σ = .45). Followed by those that reached the same score, which were, "implementing social media allowed students to exchange experience, knowledge, and attitudes between each other more" with (μ = 4.66, σ = .48), "implementing social media allowed students and teachers to exchange experience, knowledge, and attitudes with teachers more" with (μ = 4.66, σ = .48), "allowed students to work with each other or do more self-study" with (μ = 4.66, σ = .48), "allowed students to study by themselves" with (μ = 4.66,σ = .48), and "implementing social media in classes allowed students to submit assignment, and receive suggestions for improvement at all times" with (μ = 4.66, σ = .48). The third was "implementing social media in classes allowed more methods for students to communicate with teachers" with (μ = 4.53, σ = .51); and (3) behaviors of implementing social media with the course showed that (a) in terms of promoting knowledge, social media helped promoting knowledge between friends and between students and teachers in various concepts, which was the part that linked to practicing living together in society with others; (b) in terms of communication, students had a change to participate in more socialization by debating or asking questions via Facebook; (c) in terms of strengthening motivation, students were enthusiastic to learn and used the Facebook group for communication; (d) in terms of adjusting an opened-learning environment, this promoted the behavior that students would study and learn anywhere outside of classrooms, which helped learners to always learn not just in their classes; moreover, this would form the behavior of being able to work anywhere anytime, improve, and adjust their works by having records of the changes as well; and (e) in terms of supporting and promoting two-way communication, students were able to communicate and exchange information more than just in class and they were also encouraged to compete by producing portfolios and present them on Facebook and YouTube.展开更多

The third was "implementing social media in classes allowed more methods for students to communicate with teachers" with (μ = 4.53, σ = .51); and (3) behaviors of implementing social media with the course showed that (a) in terms of promoting knowledge, social media helped promoting knowledge between friends and between students and teachers in various concepts, which was the part that linked to practicing living together in society with others; (b) in terms of communication, students had a change to participate in more socialization by debating or asking questions via Facebook; (c) in terms of strengthening motivation, students were enthusiastic to learn and used the Facebook group for communication; (d) in terms of adjusting an opened-learning environment, this promoted the behavior that students would study and learn anywhere outside of classrooms, which helped learners to always learn not just in their classes; moreover, this would form the behavior of being able to work anywhere anytime, improve, and adjust their works by having records of the changes as well; and (e) in terms of supporting and promoting two-way communication, students were able to communicate and exchange information more than just in class and they were also encouraged to compete by producing portfolios and present them on Facebook and YouTube.
