And, developed curriculums introduced media awareness in schools. Continuously, the Grtinwald Declaration (1982) was the first to state the necessity of media education to promote ability of critical understanding. After dissemination of Internet, information and communication technologies were introduced into media education. And, media literacy and information literacy were intertwined as a MIL (Media and Information Literacy) in the Alexandria Proclamation (2005). Besides, the proclamation defined that information literacy and lifelong learning were the precondition of the information society. Featured importance of applied skill was explained by a disaster case that a girl saved 100 people when the Tsunami hit the coast in Phuket, 2004. Thus, the definition of MIL was frequently up-dated. On March 11 2011, we had a giant earthquake with the Tsunami: Tohoku region pacific coast earthquake. We observed severe damage even under our well prepared disaster prevention drill, earthquake-resistant construction, and communication networks. Through investigation, authors could select records of successful and unsuccessful cases concerning MIL. Then, this study aims to propose expecting what additional competency needs to be introduced in MIL. As a result, the authors could extract "Curation Literacy" that involved decision making process by a user. 展开更多

At present, the emotion classification method of Weibo public opinions based on graph neural network cannot solve the polysemy problem well, and the scale of global graph with fixed weight is too large. This paper proposes a feature fusion network model Bert-TextLevelGCN based on BERT pre-training and improved TextGCN. On the one hand, Bert is introduced to obtain the initial vector input of graph neural network containing rich semantic features. On the other hand, the global graph connection window of traditional TextGCN is reduced to the text level, and the message propagation mechanism of global sharing is applied. Finally, the output vector of BERT and TextLevelGCN is fused by interpolation update method, and a more robust mapping of positive and negative sentiment classification of public opinion text of “Tangshan Barbecue Restaurant beating people” is obtained. In the context of the national anti-gang campaign, it is of great significance to accurately and efficiently analyze the emotional characteristics of public opinion in sudden social violence events with bad social impact, which is of great significance to improve the government’s public opinion warning and response ability to public opinion in sudden social security events. . 展开更多

Disaster information content is an objective mapping of disaster situations, social response, and public opinions.Social response to emergency is an important mechanism for implementing and guaranteeing emergency management of major natural hazard-related disasters.Understanding how disaster information content affects social response to emergencies is helpful for managing risk communication and efficient disaster response.Based on the 2008 freezing-rain and snowstorm disasters in southern China, this study used Python to extract 7,857 case-related media reports and applied natural language processing for text analysis. It used three typical cases to identify and analyze disaster media report content and the relationship between these reports and the social response to the emergency.Eight categories of disaster response-such as prewarning and forecasting, announcements by the authorities, and social mobilization-appeared in the disaster information in the media, along with disaster impact information, that is,real-time disaster status.Disaster response information and an appropriate amount of disaster impact information played important roles in prewarning, disaster relief, public opinion guidance, and social stability maintenance and can serve important functions in communicating with all stakeholders of emergency management, assisting or influencing emergency departments or individuals in decision making, and eliminating "information islands." Empathy caused the general public to become "disaster responders" through receiving information.Rumors and an excess of negative information may have a perverse amplification effect on public opinion and increase the unpredictability of the disaster situation and the risk of social crisis. 展开更多

Social relationships formed within a network of interacting group members can have a profound impact on an indi- vidual's behavior and fitness. However, we have little understanding of how individuals perceive their relationships and how this perception relates to our external measures of interactions. We investigated the perception of affiliative and agonistic relation- ships at both the dyadic and emergent social levels in two captive groups of monk parakeets (Myiopsitta monachus, n = 21 and 19) using social network analysis and playback experiments. At the dyadic social scale, individuals directed less aggression to- wards their strong affiliative partners and more aggression towards non-partner neighbors. At the emergent social scale, there was no association between relationships in different social contexts and an individual's dominance rank did not correlate with its popularity rank. Playback response pattems were mainly driven by relationships in affiliative social contexts at the dyadic scale. In both groups, individual responses to playback experiments were significantly affected by strong affiliative relationships at the dyadic social scale, albeit in different directions in the two groups. Response pattems were also affected by affiliative relation- ships at the emergent social scale, but only in one of the two groups. Within affiliative relationships, those at the dyadic social scale were perceived by individuals in both groups, but those at the emergent social scale only affected responses in one group. These results provide preliminary evidence that relationships in affiliative social contexts may be perceived as more important than agonistic relationships in captive monk parakeet groups. Our approach could be used in a wide range of social species and comparative analyses could provide important insight into how individuals perceive relationships across social contexts and social scales [Current Zoology 61 (1): 55-69, 2015]. 展开更多
