Our work aimed to study magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) pathologies of the soft tissues of the elbow through illustrative cases. Methodology: This was a retrospective and prospective cross-sectional study covering a period of one year, from June 2020 to June 2021, at the Saint Camille Hospital in Ouagadougou and the Polyclinique Notre Dame de la Paix. Results: In general, this study found that the pathologies diagnosed on MRI were lateral epicondylitis, subcutaneous type V elbow lipoma and liposarcoma, anteromedial cortical fracture of the radial cup, cortical detachment fracture of the lateral epicondylitis, medial epicondylitis, villonodular articular synovitis, simple dermo-hypodermatitis, sequellar fibrosis of the ulnar nerve, Workman's syndrome (median and ulnar nerves) and osteoarthritis of the elbow. Lateral epicondylitis was the most frequent pathology, and most patients consulted for elbow pain predominantly associated with pressure on the epicondyle, with relative functional impotence and, occasionally, elbow swelling. Conclusion: MRI, as a complement to ultrasound and radiography, remains the most informative examination for exploring soft-tissue pathologies of the elbow.展开更多

Owing to the induction heating of a high frequency electromagnetic field (20 kHz), the thickness of initial solidification shell decreases, and the temperature of strand surface and slit copper mold increases when compared with the case without the electromagnetic filed. The viscosity of flux de- creases because of the induction heating of the high frequency electromagnetic field, and the dimension of the flux channel increases with electromagnetic pressure; thus, the deformation behavior of initial solidification shell was different before and after the action of high frequency electromagnetic field. Furthermore, the abatement mechanism of oscillation marks under high frequency electromagnetic field was explained.展开更多

To address the issue, an improved SAF finishing method based on turbulent kinetic energy enhancing is proposed. A constrained flow passage with serration cross-section is constructed to increase the turbulence intensity. Taking the constrained flow passage as the objective, a two-phase fluid dynamic model is set up by using particle trajectory model and standard k-ε turbulence model, and the flow field characteristics of the flow passage are acquired. The numerical results show that the serration flow passage can enhance the turbulence intensity, uniform the particles distribution, and increase the particle concentration near the bottom wall. The observation results by particle image velocimetry(PIV) show that the internal vortex structures are formed in flow passage, and the abrasive flow takes on turbulence concentrating phenomenon in near-wall region. The finishing experiments prove that the proposed method can obtain better surface uniformity, and the processing efficiency can be improved more 35%. This research provides an abrasive flow modeling method to reveal the particle motion regulars, and canoffer references to the technical optimization of fluid-based precision processing.展开更多

The ammonia concentration at the ammonia converter outlet is a significant process variable, which reflects directly the production efficiency. However, it is hard to be measured reliably online in real applications. In this paper, a soft sensor based on BP neural network (BPNN) is applied to estimate the ammonia concentration. A modified group search optimization with nearest neighborhood (GSO-NH) is proposed to optimize the weights and thresholds of BPNN. GSO-NH is integrated with BPNN to build a soft sensor model. Finally, the soft sensor model based on BPNN and GSO-NH (GSO-NH-NN) is used to infer the outlet ammonia concentration in a real-world application. Three other modeling methods are applied for comparison with GSO-NH-NN. The results show that the soft sensor based on GSO-NH-NN has a good prediction performance with high accuracy. Moreover, the GSO-NH-NN also provides good generalization ability to other modeling problems in ammonia synthesis production.展开更多

The soft yoke mooring system is regarded as one of the best shallow water mooring strategies and widely applied to the oil exploitation in the Bohai Bay in China and the Gulf of Mexico. Based on the analysis of numerous monitoring data obtained by the prototype monitoring system of one FPSO in the Bohai Bay, the on-site lateral vibration behaviors found on the site of the soft yoke subject to wave load were analyzed. ADAMS simulation and model experiment were utilized to analyze the soft yoke lateral vibration and it was determined that lateral vibration was resonance behaviors caused by wave excitation. On the basis of the soft yoke longitudinal restoring force being guaranteed, a TLD-based vibration damper system was constructed and the vibration reduction experiments with multi-tank space and multi-load conditions were developed. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed TLD vibration reduction system can effectively reduce lateral vibration of soft yoke structures.展开更多

文摘The Solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer(SMILE)Soft X-ray Imager(SXI)will shine a spotlight on magnetopause dynamics during magnetic reconnection. We simulate an event with a southward interplanetary magnetic field turning and produce SXI count maps with a 5-minute integration time.By making assumptions about the magnetopause shape,we find the magnetopause standoff distance from the count maps and compare it with the one obtained directly from the magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)simulation. The root mean square deviations between the reconstructed and MHD standoff distances do not exceed 0.2 RE(Earth radius)and the maximal difference equals 0.24 RE during the 25-minute interval around the southward turning.

文摘Recent advances in functionally graded additive manufacturing(FGAM)technology have enabled the seamless hybridization of multiple functionalities in a single structure.Soft robotics can become one of the largest beneficiaries of these advances, through the design of a facile four-dimensional(4D)FGAM process that can grant an intelligent stimuli-responsive mechanical functionality to the printed objects.Herein,we present a simple binder jetting approach for the 4D printing of functionally graded porous multi-materials(FGMM)by introducing rationally designed graded multiphase feeder beds.Compositionally graded cross-linking agents gradually form stable porous network structures within aqueous polymer particles, enabling programmable hygroscopic deformation without complex mechanical designs.Furthermore,a systematic bed design incorporating additional functional agents enables a multi-stimuli-responsive and untethered soft robot with stark stimulus selectivity. The biodegradability of the proposed 4D-printed soft robot further ensures the sustainability of our approach, with immediate degradation rates of 96.6%within 72 h.The proposed 4D printing concept for FGMMs can create new opportunities for intelligent and sustainable additive manufacturing in soft robotics.

文摘Integrated printing of magnetic soft robots with complex structures using recyclable materials to achieve sustainability of the soft robots remains a persistent challenge. Here,we propose a kind of ferromagnetic fibers that can be used to print soft robots with complex structures. These ferromagnetic fibers are recyclable and can make soft robots sustainable. The ferromagnetic fibers based on thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU)/NdFeB hybrid particles are extruded by an extruder. We use a desktop three-dimensional(3D)printer to demonstrate the feasibility of printing two-dimensional(2D)and complex 3D soft robots. These printed soft robots can be recycled and reprinted into new robots once their tasks are completed. Moreover, these robots show almost no difference in actuation capability compared to prior versions and have new functions.Successful applications include lifting, grasping, and moving objects, and these functions can be operated untethered wirelessly. In addition, the locomotion of the magnetic soft robot in a human stomach model shows the prospect of medical applications.Overall, these fully recyclable ferromagnetic fibers pave the way for printing and reprinting sustainable soft robots while also effectively reducing e-waste and robotics waste materials, which is important for resource conservation and environmental protection.

文摘The lack of soft magnetic composites with high power density in MHz frequency range has become an obstacle in the efficient operation of the electrical and electronic equipments. Here,a promising method to increase the cut-off frequency of iron-based soft magnetic composites to hundreds of MHz is reported. The cut-off frequency is increased from 10 MHz to 1 GHz by modulating the height of the ring, the distribution of particles, and the particle size. The mechanism of cut-off frequency and permeability is the coherent rotation of domain modulated by inhomogeneous field due to the eddy current effect. An empirical formula for the cut-off frequency in a magnetic ring composed of iron-based particles is established from experimental data. This work provides an effective approach to fabricate soft magnetic composites with a cut-off frequency in hundreds of MHz.

文摘Soft materials, with the sensitivity to various external stimuli, exhibit high flexibility and stretchability.Accurate prediction of their mechanical behaviors requires advanced hyperelastic constitutive models incorporating multiple parameters. However, identifying multiple parameters under complex deformations remains a challenge, especially with limited observed data.In this study,we develop a physics-informed neural network(PINN)framework to identify material parameters and predict mechanical fields, focusing on compressible Neo-Hookean materials and hydrogels. To improve accuracy,we utilize scaling techniques to normalize network outputs and material parameters. This framework effectively solves forward and inverse problems, extrapolating continuous mechanical fields from sparse boundary data and identifying unknown mechanical properties. We explore different approaches for imposing boundary conditions(BCs)to assess their impacts on accuracy. To enhance efficiency and generalization,we propose a transfer learning enhanced PINN(TL-PINN),allowing pre-trained networks to quickly adapt to new scenarios. The TL-PINN significantly reduces computational costs while maintaining accuracy. This work holds promise in addressing practical challenges in soft material science, and provides insights into soft material mechanics with state-of-the-art experimental methods.

文摘To improve the bit error rate(BER)performance of multi-user signal detection in satelliteterrestrial downlink non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA)systems,an iterative signal detection algorithm based on soft interference cancellation with optimal power allocation is proposed.Given that power allocation has a significant impact on BER performance, the optimal power allocation is obtained by minimizing the average BER of NOMA users.According to the allocated powers, successive interference cancellation(SIC)between NOMA users is performed in descending power order. For each user,an iterative soft interference cancellation is performed, and soft symbol probabilities are calculated for soft decision. To improve detection accuracy and without increasing the complexity, the aforementioned algorithm is optimized by adding minimum mean square error(MMSE)signal estimation before detection, and in each iteration soft symbol probabilities are utilized for soft-decision of the current user and also for the update of soft interference of the previous user.Simulation results illustrate that the optimized algorithm i.e.MMSE-IDBSIC significantly outperforms joint multi-user detection and SIC detection by 7.57dB and 8.03dB in terms of BER performance.
文摘Introduction: The elbow is a superficial joint, particularly exposed to direct impact, forced movement, and overstrain. Conclusion: MRI, as a complement to ultrasound and radiography, remains the most informative examination for exploring soft-tissue pathologies of the elbow.

文摘Heat transfer and deformation of initial solidification shell in soft contact continuous casting mold under high frequency electromagnetic field were analyzed using numerical simulation method; the relative electromagnetic parameters were obtained from the previous studies. Furthermore, the abatement mechanism of oscillation marks under high frequency electromagnetic field was explained.

文摘Soft abrasive flow(SAF) finishing can process the irregular geometric surfaces, but with the matter of low processing efficiency. This research provides an abrasive flow modeling method to reveal the particle motion regulars, and canoffer references to the technical optimization of fluid-based precision processing.

文摘The ammonia synthesis reactor is the core unit in the whole ammonia synthesis production. Moreover, the GSO-NH-NN also provides good generalization ability to other modeling problems in ammonia synthesis production.

文摘Mooring system is the key equipment of FPSO safe operation. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed TLD vibration reduction system can effectively reduce lateral vibration of soft yoke structures.

文摘[Tb4oFe6o(x nm)/Fe49Co49V2(y nm)]N multilayers were prepared by multitarget magnetron sputtering using a rotary turn-table technique in a stop-and-go mode. The mulfilayers were investigated using X-ray diffraction, field emission scan electron microscopy and vibrating sample magnetometry. The result shows that the coercive field drops abruptly with increasing number of bilayers, and it remains generally stable when the number of bilayers is 10 or higher. An excellent magnetic softness with a coercivity of 1.0 mT is obtained for x = 5 and y = 5 after annealing at 250℃. A crystalline state is observed in FeCoV layers before and after annealing by X-ray diffraction.
