By using a rotating hexahedral mirror placed in front of the objective lens and two sets of visible and ultraviolet monochromators coupled with a branchy quartz fiber bundle, a space-time resolved spectroscopic system...By using a rotating hexahedral mirror placed in front of the objective lens and two sets of visible and ultraviolet monochromators coupled with a branchy quartz fiber bundle, a space-time resolved spectroscopic system has been developed on the HT-7 superconducting tokamak. A center monitoring system has been used including a Helium-Neon laser and a photodiode detector to indicate the absolute position of the measurement in order to reduce the error caused by the uncertain emissive position of the plasma. By using the asymmetric Abel inversion, the space-time resolved local emission coefficients of the spectroscopic line emissions have been obtained. Presented in this article are simultaneous measurements of two spectral line emissions such as CV-227.1 nm and OV-278.1 nm during a single plasma discharge on the HT-7. Experimental results indicate that the time resolution is better than 3 ms, the space resolution is better than 1.5cm, the ratio of signal to background is better than 10：1, and the relative error of chord-integrated emission profile is less than 10%. Compared to traditional multichannel detecting systems, this system has considerably improved measurement efficiency, reduced uncertainty, and is therefore suitable for transport studies of global particles and impurities.展开更多
Time-resolved fluorescence spectra of europium methylbenzoates (MBA)with 1,10-phenanthroline(phen)have been measured at room temperature.For each of the europium chelates,where the ligand triple states lie above the ~...Time-resolved fluorescence spectra of europium methylbenzoates (MBA)with 1,10-phenanthroline(phen)have been measured at room temperature.For each of the europium chelates,where the ligand triple states lie above the ~5D_1 level of Eu^(3-),the spectra providc evidence that the Eu^(3-) ~5D_0 state is populated by nonradiative energy transfer from the higher-lying ~5D_1,state.The relaxation time for energy decay from ~5D_1 state is measured in the microcrystals to bc of the order of a few microseconds.It is suggested that the ligand C=0 and C=C stretching vibrations and Eu-O vibrations,chclate ring and benzene ring vibrations make important contributions to the relaxation process.The ~5D\-1—~5D\-0 relaxation time of Eu- (p-MBA)_3phen is shorter than those of Eu(m-MBA)_3phen and Eu(o-MBA)_3phen since nonradiative degradation to ~5D_0 from ~5D_1 appears to be more strongly influenced by the E_u^(3+)sites in the former.展开更多

This paper presents a carbon fibre cathode which is tested in a single pulsed power generator. The distribution and the development of cathode plasma are observed by time-and-space resolved diagnostics, and the uniformity of electron beam density is checked by taking x-ray images. A quasistationary behaviour of cathode plasma expansion is observed. It is found that the uniformity of the extracted electron beam is satisfactory in spite of individual plasma jets on the cathode surface. These results show that carbon fibre cathodes can provide a positive prospect for developing a high-quality electron beam.展开更多

It is found that in a cluster of 12 sites, the local density of states displays the phase transition from normal conductor to Mott insulator with the increase of the electron-electron coupling. We show that a pseudogap develops from the metallic phase to the insulating phase. Evidence of spin-charge separation is also verified in the calculated single particle spectral functions.展开更多
A new phasing procedure has been proposed for dealing with single isomorphous replacement （SIR） x-ray diffraction data. The procedure combines SOLVE/RESOLVE with the dual-space fragment extension involving OASIS. Tw...A new phasing procedure has been proposed for dealing with single isomorphous replacement （SIR） x-ray diffraction data. The procedure combines SOLVE/RESOLVE with the dual-space fragment extension involving OASIS. Two sets of SIR data at 0.28 nm resolution taken from the protein （R）-phycoerythrin （PDB code： 1LIA） were used in the test. For one of the two SIR data sets, a default run of SOLVE/RESOLVE based on the heavy-atom substructure found by SHLEXD led automatically to an interpretable electron density map. OASIS could not effectively improve the result. For the other set of SIR data, SOLVE/RESOLVE resulted in a fragmented model consisting of 454 of the total 668 residues, in which only 29 residues were docked into the sequence. Based on this model, 7 iteration cycles of OASIS-DM- RESOLVE （build only） yielded automatically a model of 547 residues with 133 residues docked into the sequence. The overall-averaged phase error decreased considerably and the quality of electron density map was improved significantly. Two more cycles of iterative OASIS-DM-RESOLVE were carried out, in which the output phases and figures of merit from DM were merged with that from the original run of SOLVE/RESOLVE before they were passed onto RESOLVE （build only）. This led automatically to a model containing 452 residues with 173 docked into the sequence. The resultant electron density map is manually traceable. It is concluded that when results of SOLVE/RESOLVE are not sufficiently satisfactory, the combination of SOLVE/RESOLVE and OASIS-DM-RESOLVE （build only） may significantly improve them.展开更多

This result is used in the Eddy-Damped Quasi-Normal Markovian equation to derive the scalings of compressible energy spectra: (1) if the acoustic waves are dominant, the compressible energy spectra exhibit \(-7/3\) scaling; (2) if local eddy straining is dominant, the compressible energy spectra are scaled as \(-3\). Meanwhile, the energy spectra of incompressible components display the same scaling of \(-5/3\) as those in incompressible turbulence.
