Based on 23 kinds of major carbon emission sources including agricultural materials inputs, paddy ifeld, soil and livestock breeding, this paper ifrstly calculated agricultural carbon emissions from 1995 to 2010, as well as 31 provinces and cities in 2010 in China. We then made a decomposed analysis to the driving factors of carbon emissions with logarithmic mean Divisia index (LMDI) model. The results show:(1) The amount of agricultural carbon emissions is 291.1691 million t in 2010. Compared with 249.5239 million t in 1995, it increased by 16.69%, in which, agricultural materials inputs, paddy ifeld, soil, enteric fermentation, and manure management accounted for 33.59, 22.03, 7.46, 17.53 and 19.39%of total agricultural carbon emissions, respectively. Although the amount exist ups and downs, it shows an overall trend of cyclical rise; (2) There is an obvious difference among regions:the amount of agricultural carbon emissions from top ten zones account for 56.68%, while 9.84%from last 10 zones. The traditional agricultural provinces, especially the major crop production areas are the main source regions. Based on the differences of carbon emission rations, 31 provinces and cities are divided into ifve types, namely agricultural materials dominant type, paddy ifeld dominant type, enteric fermentation dominant type, composite factors dominant type and balanced type. The agricultural carbon emissions intensity in west of China is the highest, followed by the central region, and the east zone is the lowest; (3) Compared with 1995, efifciency, labor and structure factors cut down carbon emissions by 65.78, 27.51 and 3.19%, respectively;while economy factor increase carbon emissions by 113.16%.展开更多

We analyzed the spatial-temporal characteristics of CO2 in the China region and around the globe with the CO2 column mixing ratios observed by the Japanese GOSAT satellite (Greenhouse Gases Observing Satellite). In order to make sure that the accuracy of the CO2 data retrieved by the satellite meets the needs of the climate charac- teristics analyses, we ran a validation on the CO2 column mixing ratios retrieved by the satellite against the ground-based TCCON (Total Carbon Column Observing Network) observation data. The result shows that the two sets of data have a correlation coefficient of higher than 0.7, and a bias of within 2.2 ppmv. Therefore, the GOSAT CO2 da- ta can be used for the climate characteristics analysis of global CO2. Our analysis on the spatial-temporal characteristics of the CO2 column mixing ratios observed during the period of June 2009 through January 2014 proved that, with the impact of the natural emission of near ground CO2 and human activities, the global CO2 concentration has a significant latitudinal characteristics with its highest level averaging 390 oomv in the 0-40?N latitudinal zone in the Northern Hemisphere, and 387 ppmv in the Southern Hemisphere. China has a relatively higher CO2 concentration with the highest level exceeding 398 ppmv, and the eastern area higher than the western area. The variation of global CO2 concentration shows a seasonal pattern, i.e. the CO2 concen- tration reaches its highest in spring in the Northern Hemisphere averaging more than 392 ppmv, second highest in win- ter, and lowest in summer averaging less than 387 ppmv. It fluctuates the most in the Northern Hemisphere with an av- erage concentration of 392.5 ppmv in April, and 385.5 ppmv in July. While in the Southern Hemisphere, the seasonal fluctuation is smaller with the highest concentration occurring in July. Over the recent years, the global CO2 concentra- tion has shown an elevating trend with an average annual increase rate of 1.58 ppmv per year. It is a challenge that the human kind has to face to slow down the increase of the CO2 concentration.展开更多

In order to reveal the law of motion and spatiotemporal relationship of overlaying strata, field measurement has been done in a mine. Long distance drillings were constructed from 4# coal seam to 6# coal seam at several certain typical positions, and movement and failure law of overlying strata after mining was analyzed by drilling video and observing the fluid leakage. Besides, we also analyzed the spatiotemporal development law of overlying strata failure with different mining heights and time intervals in the lower coal seam. The results show that: ascending mining is significantly affected by time-domain characteristics of overlaying strata failure after the lower coal seam's mining, height equations of caving zone and fractured zone are given in this paper, and the feasibility of ascending mining was compartmentalized concretely according to the spatiotemporal relationship. Research methods and conclusions of this paper have certain referential significance for the study of ascending mining, mining under water, mining under building, mining under railway and stress-relief mining.展开更多

These elements included Pb, As, Cr, Cu, Zn and Ni. The statistical analyses showed that concentrations of these elements were lognormal distribution. Concentrations of Pb, As, Cu, Zn and Ni were strongly correlated with each other indicating that these elements in soils may be from the same pollution source. However, accumulation of Cr was unique with its geometric mean being close to that in the control soil. This indicates that Cr content was mainly influenced by soil factors. The Kriging method was applied to estimate the unobserved points. The Kriging interpolation maps reflected significant spatial distribution of these elements as influenced by both pollution and geological factors. The present study indicated that GIS based geostatistics method could accurately analyze the spatial variation of heavy metals and metalloid in the mining area. Overall, higher concentrations of heavy metals and metalloid were found in the center of both the north and south sides. The content of copper in the south was significantly higher than that in the north due to paddy field land uses. In addition, the terrain of four terraces tilted to the center and the broad irrigation accident occurred in the 4th trench in the south of sampling area were also contributed to the higher concentrations of these elements.展开更多

Generally, the casing begins to deform or damage before the face line about 30-150 m.Special formation structure and rock mass properties are the direct causes of the casing failure, high mining height and fast advancing speed are fundamental reasons for rock mass damage. However, the borehole configuration and spacing to the casing failure are not very clear.展开更多

Part of them will become volatiles and, together with coal smoke, enter into atmosphere, some will remain in micro-particulates such as ash and dust and find their way into atmosphere in the form of solid particles, and the rest will be retained in ash and slag. Coal ashes are the residues of organic and inorganic substances in coal left after coal combustion and the composition of coal ashes is dependent on that of minerals and organic matter in coal. This paper deals with the chemical composition of coal ashes, the distribution of trace elements in them and their petrological characteristics, and also studies the relationship between the yield of coal ashes and the distribution of trace elements. In addition, a preliminary study is also undertaken on the factors that affect the chemical composition of coal ashes. As viewed from the analyses of coal ash samples collected from the Yanzhou mining district, it can be seen clearly that coal ashes from the region studied are composed chiefly of crystalline materials, glassy materials and uncombusted organic matter and the major chemical compositions are SiO 2, Al 2O 3, Fe 2O 3, and CaO, as well as minor amounts of SO 3, P 2O 5, Na 2O, K 2O and TiO 2. During the combustion of coal, its trace elements will be redistributed and most of them are enriched in coal ashes. At the same time, the concentrations of the trace elements in flying ash are much higher than those of bottom ash, i.e., with decreasing particle-size of coal ashes their concentrations will become higher and higher. So the contents of trace elements are negatively proportional to the particle-size of coal ashes. There has been found a positive correlation between the trace elements Th, V, Zn, Cu and Pb and the yield of coal ashes while a negative correlation between Cl and the yield of coal ashes.展开更多

The National Bureau of Health Insurance (NBHI) inTaiwancurrently publishes health-related information online in order to enhance service efficiency and enable the public to monitor the country’s medical system. A data mining technique, classification and regression tree (CART), is used in this work to investigate online public quality information to compare the characteristics of hospital. The hospital quality indicators and characteristics data are available on the websites of the NBHI (http://www.nhi.gov.tw/AmountInfoWeb/Index.aspx) and the Department of Health (http://www.doh.gov.tw/). The full classification and regression tree presented in this work, grown using the hospitals’ quality medical indicators and characteristic values, classifies all hospitals into seven groups. The rate of stays longer than 30 days, which is the dependent variable in this study, is most influenced by the number of medical staff. This reflects the fact that the fewer medical staffs that are employed, the smaller the hospital is, and patients who are likely to have longer stays tend to go to the medium or large hospitals. Policy makers should work to decrease or eliminate persistent healthcare disparities among different socioeconomic groups and offer more online healthrelated services to reduce information asymmetry between health care providers and patients.展开更多

Usually there are many hydrogeological units in a mining area, and the hydrogeological conditions are very different from that of most northern mining areas in China. In view of the uniqueness of mining areas in Guizhou Province, taking Zhijin area of Zhina mining area as an example, the planning characteristics of mining areas and characteristics of groundwater environment in Guizhou Province were analyzed firstly, and then the characteristics and key considerations of groundwater environmental impact assessment in mining areas of Guizhou Province were studied. For example, when the height of water flowing fractured zone, impact radius, and the amount of water resources affected are calculated,it is necessary to analyze and evaluate as many typical mines as possible. The impact on springs as the sources of residents' drinking water should be analyzed one by one.展开更多

There is lack of researches about heavy metal pollution in groundwater of metal mine. In this research, a certain antimony mine area is selected as a typical study area. Also, the study about statistical characteristics of heavy metals in groundwater has been carried out. Furthermore, the interrelationships have been preliminarily discussed through related analysis, such as relevant analysis, cluster analysis and principle component analysis. The results show that: the excessive elements in groundwater of study area are Sb, As, Pb, Se, and Ni. The average mass concentration of Sb, As, and Pb is higher than that of drinking water standards(GB5749-2006). The concentration of most heavy metals in dry season is lower than or equal to that in wet season for groundwater. Zn is the only metal in groundwater showing a different pattern, the concentration of which in dry season is higher than that in wet season. Under the impacts of stratum leaching and absorption effect, the concentration of heavy metals(except Pb and Ba) in groundwater are lower than or equal to that in surface water. As and Se, the two heavy metals have a significant positive correlation, which shows the two elements might have gone through similar environmental geochemical effect. Also, the connection among Zn, Hg, Pb, and Mn is not obvious; therefore, the sources of those elements are quite different. In addition, the elements of Se and As have obvious positive interrelationship with elements of CO_3^(2-) and F^-. Also, the Pb has significant positive correlation with PO_4^(3-), H_2SiO_3 and oxygen consumption. The results of cluster analysis show that 9 different heavy metals in the study area can be divided into 3 categories: Zn, Cd, Mn, Hg, Cu, and Cr belong to the first category, Se and As belong to the second one, and the last category is Pb. Also, the principle component analysis divides 6 heavy metals(Zn, As, Hg, Pb, Mn, and Se) into 4 different principle components, which can be utilized to assess heavy metals pollution situations in groundwater. The reliability of this method is higher than 91%. Moreover, the research provides theory basis and models for establishing evaluation index system and exploring the evaluation method of heavy mental pollution in groundwater.展开更多

The daily Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index(SPEI) has been developed to identify the regional spatiotemporal characteristics of drought conditions from 1960 to 2016, revealing the variability in drought characteristics across Southwest China. Daily data from142 meteorological stations across the region were used to calculate the daily SPEI at the annual and seasonal time scale. The Mann-Kendall test and the trend statistics were then applied to quantify the significance of drought trends, with the following results. 1) The regionally averaged intensity and duration of all-drought and severe drought showed increasing trends, while the intensity and duration of extreme drought exhibited decreasing trends. 2) Mixed(increasing/decreasing) trends were detected, in terms of intensity and duration, in the three types of drought events. In general, no evidence of significant trends(P < 0.05) was detected in the drought intensity and duration over the last 55 years at the annual timescale. Seasonally, spring was characterized by a severe drought trend for all drought and severe drought conditions, while extreme drought events in spring and summer were very severe. All drought intensities and durations showed an increasing trend across most regions, except in the northwestern parts of Sichuan Province. However, the areal extent of regions suffering increasing trends in severe and extreme drought became relatively smaller. 3) We identified the following drought hotspots: Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from the 1960 s to the 1990 s, respectively. Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Guizhou Province in the 1970 s and 1980 s, and Yunnan Province in the 2000 s. Finally, this paper can benefit operational drought characterization with a day-to-day drought monitoring index, enabling a more risk-based drought management strategy in the context of global warming.展开更多

The spatial-temporal change characteristics in the past 50 years have been examined using the method of trend analysis, Mann-Kendall and the spatial analysis module of Arcgis9.2. The results show that the spatial distribution of the indices for extreme precipitation in Northwest China is greatly influenced by geographic location, atmospheric circulation and topography, and the spatial difference of extreme precipitation events is very evident, while the indices reduce from the southeast to the northwest except Consecutive Dry Days (CDD). In Xinjiang region, high values appear in Tianshan Mountains and decrease towards the south and north respectively. In the past 50 years, the temporal variation tendency of the indices for extreme precipitation in Northwest China has a great spatial distinction. It shows that the variation tendency is opposite between the east (decrease) and the west (increase), and CDD has a decreasing tendency while other indices increase. For each region, it is found that the indices for extreme precipitation in Xinjiang and Qinghai Province shows an increasing trend, and it is remarkable in Tianshan Mountains, the north of Xinjiang and the northeast of Qinghai Province. The temporal variation tendency of the indices for extreme precipitation in Ningxia, Shaanxi and Gansu has a large spatial distinction. The stations which have an increasing tend are mainly found in the north of Ningxia, south of Shaanxi and Hexi Corridor of Gansu. However, the south of Ningxia, north of Shaanxi and Longnan of Gansu Province mainly present a decreasing trend. The temporal variation tendency of the indices for extreme precipitation in Inner Mongolia is not obvious. Overall, the east part of Northwest China has a dry tendency, while the west part has an opposite trend.展开更多

文摘Since the impoundment of Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR)in 2003,numerous slopes have experienced noticeable movement or destabilization owing to reservoir level changes and seasonal rainfall. One case is the Outang landslide,a large-scale and active landslide,on the south bank of the Yangtze River. The latest monitoring data and site investigations available are analyzed to establish spatial and temporal landslide deformation characteristics.Data mining technology, including the two-step clustering and Apriori algorithm,is then used to identify the dominant triggers of landslide movement. In the data mining process, the two-step clustering method clusters the candidate triggers and displacement rate into several groups, and the Apriori algorithm generates correlation criteria for the cause-and-effect.The analysis considers multiple locations of the landslide and incorporates two types of time scales:longterm deformation on a monthly basis and short-term deformation on a daily basis. This analysis shows that the deformations of the Outang landslide are driven by both rainfall and reservoir water while its deformation varies spatiotemporally mainly due to the difference in local responses to hydrological factors. The data mining results reveal different dominant triggering factors depending on the monitoring frequency:the monthly and bi-monthly cumulative rainfall control the monthly deformation, and the 10-d cumulative rainfall and the 5-d cumulative drop of water level in the reservoir dominate the daily deformation of the landslide. It is concluded that the spatiotemporal deformation pattern and data mining rules associated with precipitation and reservoir water level have the potential to be broadly implemented for improving landslide prevention and control in the dam reservoirs and other landslideprone areas.

文摘The variation of the atmospheric Carbon Dioxide (CO2) concentration plays an important role in global cli- mate and agriculture. It is a challenge that the human kind has to face to slow down the increase of the CO2 concentration.

文摘Playing an important role in global warming and plant growth, relative humidity(RH)has profound impacts on production and living, and can be used as an integrated indicator for evaluating the wet-dry conditions in the arid and semi-arid area. However, information on the spatial-temporal variation and the influencing factors of RH in these regions is still limited. This study attempted to use daily meteorological data during 1966–2017 to reveal the spatial-temporal characteristics of RH in the arid region of Northwest China through rotated empirical orthogonal function and statistical analysis method, and the path analysis was used to clarify the impact of temperature(T),precipitation(P),actual evapotranspiration(ETa),wind speed(W)and sunshine duration(S)on RH.The results demonstrated that climatic conditions in North Xinjiang(NXJ)was more humid than those in Hexi Corridor(HXC)and South Xinjiang(SXJ).RH had a less significant downtrend in NXJ than that in HXC,but an increasingly rising trend was observed in SXJ during the last five decades, implying that HXC and NXJ were under the process of droughts, while SXJ was getting wetter. There was a turning point for the trend of RH in Xinjiang, which occurred in 2000.Path analysis indicated that RH was negatively correlated to T,ETa,W and S,but it increased with increase of P.S,T and W had the greatest direct effects on RH in HXC,NXJ and SXJ,respectively.ETa was the factor which had the greatest indirect effect on RH in HXC and NXJ,while T was the dominant factor in SXJ.

文摘Based on the production data of a large number of surface drainage wells in the Huainan mining area, the present study shows that four types of typical production characteristics for relieved methane wells are recognized,of which the stable type for production and gas concentration is the most dominate,as determined by a comprehensive study on the volume and concentration of drained gases, as well as the stress changes of rocks influenced by mining. Some influence factors for the productive differences of the drainage wells were also been discussed. The results indicate that protective coal-seam mining has a significant effect on overlying strata, which promotes the development of pores and fractures of coal reservoirs for methane desorption and migration;however, the production and the stability of drainage wells are affected by deformation and damage of the overlying strata. The second distribution of strata stress is caused by mining engineering, and if the stress load is larger than the carrying capacity of the extraction well, the gas production would be influenced by the drainage well that has been damaged by rock movement.Furthermore, the case damage occurs first in the weak, lithologic interface by its special mechanical properties. The stability of drainage wells and the production status are also influenced by the different drilling techniques, uneven distribution of gas concentration, and combination of gob gas and methane from the protected layer.

文摘Ascending mining is one of the most effective ways to solve problems of water inrush, gas outburst and rock burst in coal seams mining. Research methods and conclusions of this paper have certain referential significance for the study of ascending mining, mining under water, mining under building, mining under railway and stress-relief mining.

文摘In order to study the effects of soil compaction, and soil physical and chemicalcharacteristics after land reclamation, selected lands that were reclaimed after 1, 2, 3, 4,and 5 a, respectively, in the Majiata Mine of the Shendong Open Pit; tested the effects ofsoil compaction; and collected soil samples from 5 different depths, which are 0-7.62,7.62-15.24, 15.24-22.86, 22.86-30.48, and 30.48-38.10 cm, respectively. The resultsshow that: Land reclamation leads to soil compaction. The lowest effect of soil compaction is in the top layer and the highest one at the depth of 20-30 cm; The bulk density of reclaimed soil is higher than that of undisturbed soil; this declines with the reclamation and nearly reaches the level of undisturbed soil after 5-year reclamation; The content of reclaimed soil nutrients is lower than that of undisturbed soil. The lowest one is inthe soil dumping site, which reaches the level of undisturbed soil after 5-year reclamation; The pH value of reclaimed soil is lower than that of undisturbed soil. The highest one isin the soil dumping site; this declines with the reclamation.
文摘The spatial distribution characteristics of six heavy metals and metalloid in soil of Zhuji Lipu copper mining area, Zhejiang Province, was studied by using geostatistics approaches combined with GIS. In addition, the terrain of four terraces tilted to the center and the broad irrigation accident occurred in the 4th trench in the south of sampling area were also contributed to the higher concentrations of these elements.

文摘Based on data from through-hole and logging,we studied the failure characteristics of surface drainage wells for relieved coal gas in Huainan mining area and its influencing factors. The results show that the damaged positions of drainage wells are mainly located at the thick clay layer in the low alluvium and the lithological interface in the upper section of bedrock in west mining area. The failure depth of casing is 244-670 m and concentrates at about 270-460 m deep. These damaged positions are mainly located in the bending zone according to three zones of rock layers in the vertical section above the roof divided. Generally, the casing begins to deform or damage before the face line about 30-150 m.Special formation structure and rock mass properties are the direct causes of the casing failure, high mining height and fast advancing speed are fundamental reasons for rock mass damage. However, the borehole configuration and spacing to the casing failure are not very clear.
文摘In the process of combustion of coal organic and inorganic materials in it will undergo a complex variation. There has been found a positive correlation between the trace elements Th, V, Zn, Cu and Pb and the yield of coal ashes while a negative correlation between Cl and the yield of coal ashes.
文摘Information disclosure can reduce information asymmetry between health care providers and patients, thus improving both patient safety and medical quality. Policy makers should work to decrease or eliminate persistent healthcare disparities among different socioeconomic groups and offer more online healthrelated services to reduce information asymmetry between health care providers and patients.
文摘In Guizhou Province, karst areas and springs are widely distributed, and hydrogeological conditions are complex in mining areas. The impact on springs as the sources of residents' drinking water should be analyzed one by one.
文摘Mine fires break out and continue in confined scopes, studying mine fire dynamics characteristics is very useful to prevent and control fire. The judgement index of fire chaos characteristics was introduced, chaos analysis of mine fire process was described, and the reconstruction of phase space was also presented. An example of mine fire was calculated. The computations show that it is feasible to analyze mine fire dynamic characteristics with chaos theory, and indicate that fire process is a catastrophe, that is to say, the fire system changes from one state to another during mine fire.

文摘In recent years, most of domestic and foreign researches about heavy metal pollutions of metal mine mainly focus on water, soil and plants on the surface. Moreover, the research provides theory basis and models for establishing evaluation index system and exploring the evaluation method of heavy mental pollution in groundwater.

文摘An experimental investigation was conducted on combustion characteristics of a single cylinder spark ignition engine fueled with coal-mine methane (CMM).The CMM was simulated by the compressed nature gas (CNG)/nitrogen blend fuels. The cylinder pressure was measured. The maximum heat release ratio, the flame development duration and the main combustion duration were analyzed with the nitrogen volume fraction in the blends changing from 0% to 35%.The results indicate that the maximum cylinder pressure, the maximum rate of pressure, the flame development duration and the main combustion duration increase and the maximum rate of heat release decreases with increasing nitrogen fraction. When the level of nitrogen volume fraction in coalmine methane is lower than 20%,the combustion process of engine is stable. But with the level of nitrogen volume fraction over 30%,the cycle to cycle combustion variation is large, especially under low load condition.
文摘[Objective] The aim was to study the temporal and spatial characteristics and causes of cold wave in Qinhuangdao.[Method] Based on temperature data from five surface meteorological stations in Qinhuangdao from 1970 to 2009 and the latest standards issuing cold wave early warning signal, statistical analysis on the temporal and spatial distribution of cold wave was carried out,and the causes were discussed preliminarily.[Result] From 1970 to 2009,the frequencies of blue and yellow cold wave in Qinhuangdao region were 2 334 and 105 times respectively, and cold wave occurred most frequently in Qinglong County and least frequently in Lulong County, which was related to the effects of underlying surface, latitude and altitude.Cold wave might happen from September to next May,and the earliest occurrence date was September 9,while the latest end date was May 26.In addition, the frequency of cold wave was the highest in January and lowest in May.From 1970 to 2009,blue cold wave occurred most frequently in 1972 and 1979 and least frequently in 1984,while the frequency of yellow cold wave was the highest in 1979 and lowest in 9 years. From decadal variation, cold wave appeared most frequently in the 1970s and least frequently in the 1990s.With the increase of temperature, the frequency of cold wave showed decrease trend, and the beginning date tended to postpone, while its end date advanced, and it showed that the changes of cold wave was mainly caused by climate warming.[Conclusion] The study could provide theoretical guidance for the meteorological disaster prevention and reduction and local agricultural service.

文摘Drought is the most widespread and insidious natural hazard, presenting serious challenges to ecosystems and human society. Finally, this paper can benefit operational drought characterization with a day-to-day drought monitoring index, enabling a more risk-based drought management strategy in the context of global warming.

文摘Using the daily precipitation data of 118 meteorological stations in Northwest China from January 1, 1961 to December 31,2010, we analyzed extreme precipitation events from prime precipitation data by applying R-language Climate Index (RClimDex). Overall, the east part of Northwest China has a dry tendency, while the west part has an opposite trend.
