Zonation means that, from NW to NE, the Longmen Mountain Thrust Belt can be divided into the Songpan- Garz~ Tectonic Belt, ductile deformation belt, base involved thrust belt, frontal fold-thrust belt, and foreland depression. Segmentation means that it can be divided into five segments from north to south: the northern segment, the Anxian Transfer Zone, the center segment, the Guanxian Transfer Zone and the southern segment. Stratification means that the detachment layers partition the structural styles in profile. The detachment layers in the Longmen Mountain Thrust Belt can be classified into three categories: the deep-level detachment layers, including the crust-mantle system detachment layer, intracrustal detachment layer, and Presinian system basal detachment layer; the middle-level detachment layers, including Cambrian-Ordovician detachment layer, Silurian detachment layer, etc.; and shallow-level detachment layers, including Upper Triassic Xujiahe Formation detachment layer and the Jurassic detachment layers. The multi-level detachment layers have a very important effect on the shaping and evolution of Longmen Mountain Thrust Belt.展开更多

The differential quadrature (DQ) method of nonlinear analysis to the problem was presented. New DQ approach, presented by Wang and Bert (DQWB), is extended to handle the multiple boundary conditions of plates. The techniques were also further extended to simplify nonlinear computations. The numerical convergence and comparison of solutions were studied. The results show that the DQ method presented is very reliable and valid. Moreover, the influences of geometric and material parameters as well as the transverse shear deformations on nonlinear bending were investigated. Numerical results show the influence of the shear deformation on the static bending of orthotropic moderately thick plate is significant.展开更多

It is evident that, all civil engineering structures are susceptible for deterioration over a period of time. Bridges in particular, deteriorate due to loading conditions, environmental changes, earth movement, material used during construction, age and corrosion of steel. Continuous monitoring of such structure is the most important aspect as it provides quantitative information, assesses the state of the structure, detects unsafe positions and proposes early safety measures to be taken before it can threaten the safety of vehicles, goods and human life. Despite government’s efforts to construct roads and highways, bridge deformation monitoring has not been given priority in most of African countries and ultimately causes some bridges to collapse unexpectedly. The purpose of this research is to integrate Global Positioning System (GPS) and Linear Variable Differential Transducers (LVDT) to monitor deformation of a bridge. The horizontal positions of reference and monitoring points were determined using Global Positioning System (GPS) while the vertical deflections, accelerations and strain were determined using Linear Variable Differential Transducers (LVDT). The maximum displacements obtained between zero and first epochs in x, y and z components were 0.798 m, at point LT08, 0.865 m at point BR13, and 0.56 m at point LT02 respectively. The maximum deflections for LVDT 1, 2 and 3 are 28.563 mm, 31.883 mm and 40.926 mm respectively. Finally, the correlation coefficient for the observations was 0.679 with standard deviations of 0.0168 and 0.0254 in x and y respectively. Our results identified some slight displacements in horizontal components at the bridge.展开更多

Secondly, a set of new auxiliary functions are introduced. The differential-integral equations are transformed into a set of nonlinear differential equations, and the differential quadrature method (DQM) and the finite difference method (FDM) are applied to discretize the set of nonlinear equations in the spatial and time domains, respectively. Then, the Newton-Raphson method is used to solve the set of discretization algebraic equations at each time step. Finally, numerical examples are presented, and the dynamical re- sponses to the deformation of piles, including configuration, bending moment and shear force, are graphically illuminated. In calculation, two types of initial displacements and dynamical loads are applied, and the effects of parameters on the dynamical responses of piles are analyzed in detail.展开更多

The magnetic behaviour of austenite state is ferromagnetic. After plastic deformation, a mixed magnetic structure including both paramagnet- ic and ferromagnetic states has been obtained at the room temperature. The volume fraction changes, the effective hyperfine fields of the ferromagnetic austenite phase and isomery shift values have also been determined by Mossbauer spectroscopy. The Curie point (Tc) and the Neel temperature (TN) have been investigated by means of DSC system for non-deformed and deformed Fe-Ni-Mn alloy. The plastic deformation of the alloy reduces the TN and enhances the paramagnetic character of austenitic Fe-Ni-Mn alloy.展开更多

文摘Due to the conflict between equilibrium and constitutive requirements,Eringen’s strain-driven nonlocal integral model is not applicable to nanostructures of engineering interest. As an alternative, the stress-driven model has been recently developed. In this paper, for higher-order shear deformation beams, the ill-posed issue(i.e.,excessive mandatory boundary conditions(BCs)cannot be met simultaneously)exists not only in strain-driven nonlocal models but also in stress-driven ones. The well-posedness of both the strain-and stress-driven two-phase nonlocal(TPN-Strain D and TPN-Stress D)models is pertinently evidenced by formulating the static bending of curved beams made of functionally graded(FG)materials. The two-phase nonlocal integral constitutive relation is equivalent to a differential law equipped with two restriction conditions.By using the generalized differential quadrature method(GDQM),the coupling governing equations are solved numerically. The results show that the two-phase models can predict consistent scale-effects under different supported and loading conditions.
文摘A thermo-viscoplastic damage potential and Hill's normal anisotropy (isotropy in plane) yield criterion in the quadratic form of stress components were combined to describe the interaction process of damage and instability during superplastic deformation, based on the kinetic equation for damage during superplastic deformation and the deformation features of superplastic materials. The superplastic deformation process was divided into four stages, namely, stable; quasi-stable; strain path drift to plane strain and plane strain stages, and a damage instability model during superplastic deformation of sheet metals was developed through numerical method. On the basis of the above results and taking the occurrence of localized instability or the cavity volume fraction reaching the critical value as a fracture criterion, the forming limit during superplastic deformation of sheet metals was predicted.

文摘Geophysical inversion for earthquake dislocation source model from the observed crustal deformation field is a nonlinear multimodal problem. Although a lot of nonlinear algorithms have been developed, scientists are pursuing a rapid and accurate method to achieve more stable inversion solutions. Differential evolution, an improved Genetic Evolution algorithm, is implemented to solve the problem. The algorithm is fulfilled by Python 2.7 and tested for the 2004 Mw6.0 Parkfield earthquake, the 2009 Mw6.3 L' aquila earthquake, and a virtual MwT.3 earthquake. The inversion results demonstrate that the differential evolution algorithm is not only simple and straightforward to implement, but also robust with impressive precision even if all the 9 model parameters are loosely constrained.

文摘In this paper, a nonlinear mathematical model for analyzing dynamical response to the large deformation of piles with initial displacements is firstly established with the arc-coordinate, and it is a set of nonlinear integral-differential equa- tions, in which, the Winkeler model is used to simulate the resistance of the soil to the pile. In calculation, two types of initial displacements and dynamical loads are applied, and the effects of parameters on the dynamical responses of piles are analyzed in detail.
文摘The effects of plastic deformation on the magnetic properties of austenite structure in an Fe-40% Ni-2 % Mn alloy is investigated by using Mossbauer spectroscopy and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) techniques The morphology of the alloy has been obtained by using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The plastic deformation of the alloy reduces the TN and enhances the paramagnetic character of austenitic Fe-Ni-Mn alloy.
文摘This paper is to extend the Poincar’e Lemma for differential forms in a bounded, convex domain [1] in Rn to a more general domain that, we call, is deformable to every point in itself. Then we extend the homotopy operator T in [1] to the domain defromed to every point of itself.
