Mining-induced seismicity has been found to be internally correlated in both time and space domains as a result of rock fracturing during progressive mining activities. Understanding the spatio-temporal(ST) correlation of mininginduced seismic events is an essential step to use seismic data for further analysis, such as rockburst prediction and caving assessment. 文摘Green space,as a medium for carrying out urban functions and guiding urban development,is becoming a scarce resource along with the urbanization process and the intensification of environmental problems. In the face of the spatial mismatch between high demand and low supply,it is of great significance to clarify the evolution mechanism of green space to undertake national spatial planning, protect the natural strategic resources in the urban fringe area, and promote the sustainable development of the“three living spaces.”The study focuses on the Zunyi City Center, selecting the 20 years of rapid development following its establishment as a city as the study period. It explores the dynamic evolution of green space and the main driving forces during different periods using remote-sensing image data. The study shows that from 2003 to 2023,the total scale of green space has an obvious decreasing trend along with the expansion of the urban built-up area.A large amount of arable land is being converted to construction land, resulting in a sudden decrease in arable land area.In the past 10 years, the comprehensive land use dynamics have accelerated.Still, the spatial difference has gradually narrowed, indicating that the overall development intensity of Zunyi City’s central urban area has increased. There is a gradual spread of the trend to the hilly areas. The limiting effect of the mountainous natural environment on the city’s development has gradually diminished under the superposition of external factors, such as economic development, industrial technological upgrading, and policy orientation so the importance of the effective protection and rational utilization of urban green space has become more prominent.

文摘Huaihe River Basin(HRB) is located in China’s north-south climatic transition zone, which is very sensitive to global climate change.Based on the daily maximum temperature, minimum temperature, and precipitation data of 40 meteorological stations and nine monthly large-scale ocean-atmospheric circulation indices data during 1959–2019,we present an assessment of the spatial and temporal variations of extreme temperature and precipitation events in the HRB using nine extreme climate indices, and analyze the teleconnection relationship between extreme climate indices and large-scale ocean-atmospheric circulation indices. The results show that warm extreme indices show a significant(P < 0.05) increasing trend, while cold extreme indices(except for cold spell duration) and diurnal temperature range(DTR) show a significant decreasing trend.Furthermore, all extreme temperature indices show significant mutations during 1959-2019.Spatially,a stronger warming trend occurs in eastern HRB than western HRB,while maximum 5-d precipitation(Rx5day) and rainstorm days(R25) show an increasing trend in the southern, central, and northwestern regions of HRB.Arctic oscillation(AO),Atlantic multidecadal oscillation(AMO),and East Atlantic/Western Russia(EA/WR) have a stronger correlation with extreme climate indices compared to other circulation indices.AO and AMO(EA/WR) exhibit a significant(P < 0.05) negative(positive)correlation with frost days and diurnal temperature range.Extreme warm events are strongly correlated with the variability of AMO and EA/WR in most parts of HRB,while extreme cold events are closely related to the variability of AO and AMO in eastern HRB.In contrast,AMO,AO,and EA/WR show limited impacts on extreme precipitation events in most parts of HRB.

文摘Closely related to the economy, the analysis and management of electricity consumption has been widely studied.Conventional approaches mainly focus on the prediction and anomaly detection of electricity consumption, which fails to reveal the in-depth relationships between electricity consumption and various factors such as industry, weather etc..In the meantime, the lack of analysis tools has increased the difficulty in analytical tasks such as correlation analysis and comparative analysis. In this paper,we introduce EcoVis,a visual analysis system that supports the industrial-level spatio-temporal correlation analysis in the electricity consumption data.We not only propose a novel approach to model spatio-temporal data into a graph structure for easier correlation analysis, but also introduce a novel visual representation to display the distributions of multiple instances in a single map.We implement the system with the cooperation with domain experts.Experiments are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.

文摘Human Activity Recognition(HAR)is an active research area due to its applications in pervasive computing,human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, health care, and social sciences. Moreover, dynamic environments and anthropometric differences between individuals make it harder to recognize actions. This study focused on human activity in video sequences acquired with an RGB camera because of its vast range of real-world applications. It uses two-stream ConvNet to extract spatial and temporal information and proposes a fine-tuned deep neural network. Moreover, the transfer learning paradigm is adopted to extract varied and fixed frames while reusing object identification information.Six state-of-the-art pre-trained models are exploited to find the best model for spatial feature extraction. For temporal sequence, this study uses dense optical flow following the two-stream ConvNet and Bidirectional Long Short TermMemory(BiLSTM)to capture longtermdependencies. Two state-of-the-art datasets,UCF101 and HMDB51,are used for evaluation purposes. In addition, seven state-of-the-art optimizers are used to fine-tune the proposed network parameters.Furthermore, this study utilizes an ensemble mechanism to aggregate spatial-temporal features using a four-stream Convolutional Neural Network(CNN),where two streams use RGB data.In contrast, the other uses optical flow images. Finally, the proposed ensemble approach using max hard voting outperforms state-ofthe-art methods with 96.30%and 90.07%accuracies on the UCF101 and HMDB51 datasets.

文摘To illuminate the spatio-temporal variation characteristics and geochemical driving mechanism of soil pH in the Nenjiang River Basin, the National Multi-objective Regional Geochemical Survey data of topsoil, the Second National Soil Survey data and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI)were analyzed. The areas of neutral and alkaline soil decreased by 21100 km^(2)and 30500 km^(2),respectively,while that of strongly alkaline, extremely alkaline, and strongly acidic soil increased by 19600 km^(2),18200 km^(2),and 15500 km^(2),respectively,during the past 30 years.NDVI decreased with the increase of soil pH when soil pH>8.0,and it was reversed when soil pH<5.0.There were significant differences in soil pH with various surface cover types, which showed an ascending order:Arbor<reed<maize<rice<high and medium-covered meadow<low-covered meadow<Puccinellia. The weathering products of minerals rich in K_(2)O,Na_(2)O,CaO,and MgO entered into the low plain and were enriched in different parts by water transportation and lake deposition, while Fe and Al remained in the low hilly areas, which was the geochemical driving mechanism. The results of this study will provide scientific basis for making scientific and rational decisions on soil acidification and salinization.
文摘Success in locating oil pools in the Cauvery Basin, south India had been found to be based on the ability to delineate precisely the stratigraphic traps resulting from frequent sea level changes. However, recognition and delineation of them in terms of depositional units through conventional stratigraphic methods have been elusive owing to the limitations of such methods and lack of unified stratigraphic markers that could be traced at regional and basinal scale. This paper attempts to recognize depositional units in terms of chemozones, chronologic and lithostratigraphic units by assigning distinct geochemical signatures.Geochemical signatures were assigned through hierarchical delineation and discriminant function analysis. It is observed that individual depositional units could be recognized statistically with whole-rock geochemical composition. The strata under study show two second order chemozones comprising six major chemozones that in turn correspond to third order sea level cycles and minor chemozones at the scale of fourth order and/or further shorter sea level cycles. The geochemical signatures showed 100% distinctness between sample populations categorized according to chronostratigraphy and lithostratigraphy. The durations of these stratigraphic units range from 18 million years to less than a million years and indicate distinct geochemical compositional change at different time slices.By implication and also due to the close correspondence between sea level variations reported from this basin and global sea level cycles,it is suggested that recognition and correlation of individual depositional units with distal counterparts could be made accurately.Implication of these results is that stratigraphic units,at varying scales either temporally or spatially, could be assigned with unique geochemical signature, with which accurate prediction and correlation of similar units elsewhere is possible with measurable accuracy.

文摘Low Earth Orbit(LEO)multibeam satellites will be widely used in the next generation of satellite communication systems, whose inter-beam interference will inevitably limit the performance of the whole system.Nonlinear precoding such as Tomlinson-Harashima precoding(THP)algorithm has been proved to be a promising technology to solve this problem, which has smaller noise amplification effect compared with linear precoding. However, the similarity of different user channels(defined as channel correlation)will degrade the performance of THP algorithm. In this paper,we qualitatively analyze the inter-beam interference in the whole process of LEO satellite over a specific coverage area, and the impact of channel correlation on Signal-to-Noise Ratio(SNR)of receivers when THP is applied. One user grouping algorithm is proposed based on the analysis of channel correlation, which could decrease the number of users with high channel correlation in each precoding group, thus improve the performance of THP.Furthermore, our algorithm is designed under the premise of co-frequency deployment and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM),which leads to more users under severe inter-beam interference compared to the existing research on geostationary orbit satellites broadcasting systems.Simulation results show that the proposed user grouping algorithm possesses higher channel capacity and better bit error rate(BER)performance in high SNR conditions relative to existing works.

文摘We consider the two-point,two-time(space-time)correlation of passive scalar R(r,τ)in the Kraichnan model under the assumption of homogeneity and isotropy.Using the fine-gird PDF method,we find that R(r,τ)satisfies a diffusion equation with constant diffusion coefficient determined by velocity variance and molecular diffusion.Itssolution can be expressed in terms of the two-point,one time correlation of passive scalar,i.e.,R(r,0).Moreover,the decorrelation o R(k,τ),which is the Fourier transform of R(r,τ),is determined byR(k,0)and a diffusion kernal.

文摘Twisted bilayer graphene heterostructures have recently emerged as a well-established platform for studying strongly correlated phases, such as correlated insulating, superconducting, and topological states.Extending this notion to twisted multilayer graphene heterostructures has exhibited more diverse correlated phases,as some fundamental properties related to symmetry and band structures are correspondingly modified. Here,we report the observations of correlated states in twisted monolayer-trilayer(Bernal stacked)graphene heterostructures.Correlated phases at integer fillings of the moire unit cell are revealed at a high displacement field and stabilized with a moderate magnetic field on the electron-doping side at a twist angle of 1.45°,where the lift of degeneracy at the integer fillings is observed in the Landau fan diagram. Our results demonstrate the effectiveness of moire engineering in an extended structure and provide insights into electric-field tunable correlated phases.
文摘The cone penetration test(CPT)contributes to the design and analysis of piles regarding geometry, installation effect, and pile capacity(shaft and toe resistance).MiniCone,as an alternative to CPT sounding, has been used to carry outfield and laboratory investigations by physical modeling.More tests can be practically carried out through light equipment and small soil mass, involving fewer errors caused by boundary conditions.Furthermore,it can be used for in situ testing, such as quality control, assessment of ground improvement, and subgrade characterization.A database comprising MiniCone and CPT records infield and physical modeling is proposed with a variety of cone diameters. The case study records in the database have been obtained from 140 tests compiled from data from 26 sources. The sources include the results of 20 physical modelings andfield data from six sites in 10 countries. The data comprise MiniCone and CPT cone tip resistance(qc),and sleeve friction(fs). The different cones are used in sandy, silty sand, and clayey soils via simple chambers(1 g),calibration chambers, and frustum confining vessels. In addition, correlations were found in penetration records in terms of physical modeling types, cone diameters, penetration rates, and soil densities. Moreover,qc and fs are related to capacities of pile toes and shafts using proper correlation coefficients less than unity, respectively.Correlations and dominant factors in geotechnical practice between MiniCone,CPT,and pile have been reviewed and discussed.

文摘With the improvement of equipment reliability, human factors have become the most uncertain part in the system. The standardized Plant Analysis of Risk-Human Reliability Analysis(SPAR-H)method is a reliable method in the field of human reliability analysis(HRA)to evaluate human reliability and assess risk in large complex systems. However, the classical SPAR-H method does not consider the dependencies among performance shaping factors(PSFs),whichmay cause overestimation or underestimation of the risk of the actual situation. To address this issue, this paper proposes a new method to deal with the dependencies among PSFs in SPAR-H based on the Pearson correlation coefficient.First, the dependence between every two PSFs is measured by the Pearson correlation coefficient.Second, the weights of the PSFs are obtained by considering the total dependence degree. Finally,PSFs’multipliers are modified based on the weights of corresponding PSFs,and then used in the calculating of human error probability(HEP).A case study is used to illustrate the procedure and effectiveness of the proposed method.

文摘Packed columns are widely used in the chemical industry such as absorption, stripping, distillation, and extraction in the production of e.g.organic chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.Pressure loss and pressure drop correlations are of special interest when it comes to the hydrodynamic properties of a column. The pressure loss across the column is of interest in the design phase when the size of the blower to drive the gas stream through the column has to be decided. The loading point and flooding point are also influenced by the pressure loss and the area of operation is determined from these points. This work examines four different correlations on pressure drop. The correlations are(i)Ergun’s equation(1952),(ii)an improved version of Ergun’s equation by Stichlmair,Bravo, and Fair(1989),(iii)an equation developed by Billet and Schultes(1999),and(iv)an equation by Rocha,Bravo, and Fair(1993).The complexity of the correlations is increasing in the mentioned order,Ergun’s equation being the simplest one. This study investigates if the more complicated correlations give better predictions to pressure drop in packed columns. This is determined by comparing the correlations to experimental data for pressure drop in a packed column with 8.2 m of structured packing using water as the liquid and atmospheric air as the gas.Seven experiments were carried out for determining the pressure drop in the column with liquid flows varying from 0 to 500 kg·h^(-1).At constant liquid flow, the gas flow was varied from approximately 10 to 70 kg·h^(-1).The pressure drop across the non-wetted column was best described by the correlation by Rocha et al.while the pressure drop for liquid flows from 100 to 500 kg·h^(-1)was,in general, best described by Stichlmair’s equation. For an irrigated column, the highest deviation was a predicted pressure drop 69.6%lower than measured. The best prediction was 0.1%higher than the measured. This study shows, surprisingly, that for a system of water and atmospheric air, complicated correlations on pressure drop determination do not provide better estimates than simple equations.
