Compression of surface texture acceleration signal based on spectrum characteristics

Background Adequate data collection can enhance the realism of online rendering or offline playback of haptic surface textures.A parallel challenge is to reduce communication delays and improve storage space utilization.Methods Based on the similarity of the short-term amplitude spectrum trend,this study proposes a frequency-domain compression method.A compression framework is designed,which first maps the amplitude spectrum into grayscale images,compresses them with a still image compression method,and then adaptively encodes the maximum amplitude and part of the initial phase for each time window to achieve the final compression.Results The comparison between the original signal and the recovered signal shows that when the time-frequency similarity is 90%,the average compression ratio of our method is 9.85%in the case of a single interaction point.The subjective score for similarity was found to be high,with an average of 87.85.Conclusions Our method can be used for offline compression of vibrotactile data.For multi-interaction points in space,the trend similarity grayscale image can be reused,and the compression ratio is further reduced. 展开更多

Spectral Characteristic of Phosgene in External Electric Field

Phosgene is highly toxic, and it plays a role in the depletion of the ozone layer. The ground state geometric structure and spectral characteristic of phosgene in various external electric fields were calculated via the density-functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent density-functional theory (TDDFT) with the B3LYP/6-31+G(d) basis set. With external electric field, the structure of phosgene changed significantly. With increasing electric field, the bond lengths of 1C-3Cl and 1C-4Cl increased;the total energy and energy gap initially increased and then decreased, whereas the dipole moment initially decreased and then increased. Most of the IR vibrational frequencies were redshifted. The wavelength of the singlet excited state increased, reflecting a red shift, and the oscillator strengths of most transitions belonged to forbidden transitions. These results are of great significance for studying the dissociation of phosgene in external electric field. 展开更多

Marine oil spills have caused major threats to marine environment over the past few years.The early detection of the oil spill is of great significance for the prevention and control of marine disasters.At present,remote sensing is one of the major approaches for monitoring the oil spill.Full polarization synthetic aperture radarc SAR data are employed to extract polarization decomposition parameters including entropy(H) and reflection entropy(A).The characteristic spectrum of the entropy and reflection entropy combination has analyzed and the polarization characteristic spectrum of the oil spill has developed to support remote sensing of the oil spill.The findings show that the information extracted from(1-A)×(1-H) and(1-H)×A parameters is relatively evident effects.The results of extraction of the oil spill information based on H×A parameter are relatively not good.The combination of the two has something to do with H and A values.In general,when H〉0.7,A value is relatively small.Here,the extraction of the oil spill information using(1-A)×(1-H) and(1-H)×A parameters obtains evident effects.Whichever combined parameter is adopted,oil well data would cause certain false alarm to the extraction of the oil spill information.In particular the false alarm of the extracted oil spill information based on(1-A)×(1-H) is relatively high,while the false alarm based on(1-A)×H and(1-H)×A parameters is relatively small,but an image noise is relatively big.The oil spill detection employing polarization characteristic spectrum support vector machine can effectively identify the oil spill information with more accuracy than that of the detection method based on single polarization feature. 展开更多

Yb3+/Tm3+ co-doped Gd3Ga5O12 single crystal with a dimension of Φ30mm×20mm was grown successfully by Czochralski method.The absorption spectrum was recorded at room temperature and used to calculate the absorption cross-section.Based on the Judd-Ofelt(J-O) theory,we obtained the three intensity parameters and spectral parameters of this crystal,such as the line strengths,oscillator strengths,radiative probabilities and radiative lifetimes as well as the fluorescent branching ratios.Room temperature fluorescence spectra and luminescence decay curves were recorded.The energy transfer between Yb3+-Tm3+ was observed and the mechanism was discussed.The stimulated emission cross-section of the 3F4→3H6 transition was calculated by the Füchtbauer-Ladenburg(F-L) equation.The potential laser gains for this transition were also investigated.This crystal is promising as a tunable infrared laser crystal at 2.0 μm. 展开更多

The mechanism of interaction between the energy flows of the far-field ship noise and the near-field platform is studied, and the characteristics of frequency-time azimuth spec- trum is discussed. Based on normal modes theory in acoustic vector fields, the model of the near-field platform is established, and the simulated result is similar to the investigation in shallow water. The frequency-time aziinuth spectrum of the energy flow is investigated by the vector hydrophone changes with frequency. The energy flow of the far-field ship noise interacts with the near-field platform, so four kinds of stripes are shown in the frequency4ime azimuth spectrum, which is the same with the investigation of sea trial. The estimation of direction of arrival appears inaccuracy, and varies with frequency. The main factor that affects the charac- teristics of frequency-time azimuth spectrum of resultant energy flow is the difference of sound pressure level. The estimation of the direction of arrival benefits from this when a number of sources exist in shallow water. 展开更多

Several indole derivatives with different '3-' substituents have been investigated by terahertz (THz) time-domain spectroscopy. The low-frequency absorption spectra and refractive indices were obtained in the range of 0.2 THz to 2.5 THz (7 cm-1 to 83 cm-1). These derivatives with different substituents present distinct features, which suggests that THz spectroscopy is sensitive to different structures and components of these chemicals. The density functional theory was employed to calculate the low-frequency vibrational properties of indole-3-carboxylic acid and indole-3-propionic acid based on their crystal structures, and the intermolecular interactions were involved. Meanwhile, the temperature dependence of the spectra agreed with the calculated results. The quantitative analysis of a ternary mixture was studied by taking the THz fingerprints into account, and the results demonstrate THz spectroscopy has great potential for the practical applications in biochemistry and pharmaceutics. 展开更多

In this research,a new method based on the hyperspectral imaging for searching the best decocting time of sun dried ginseng is reported.The spectral images at diferent decocting time of test sample have been taken by the st aring hyperspectral fAuorescence imaging systen and the solubility of active ingredients have been discussed by analyzing the changes on the spectral.curves.The spectr al range of the system is 400-720nm and the spectral resolution is 5nm.In the decocting process,the active ingredients of nonsoaked ginseng was dissolved in the tissue fluid at first,and reached equilibrium condition at last after the precipitation-dissolution reciprocating process of boiling.At last,the experiment al results show that the best decoction time of sun dried ginseng is about 60 min after boiling. 展开更多

In this paper, the ultrasonic spectra of liver's structural scattering wave obtained by autoregressive model and the spectral characteristics were analyzed statisticaJly The experimellt and analysis results show that a liver can be divided into three distingulshed scattering regions. The top layer region shows approkimate Rayleigh scattering characteristic, the central region shows diffosion scattering, and the region between the top layer and centre shows random scattering. These distribution characteristics correlate with the distribution of the microstructure characteristics of liver. The experiment results provide possibilities for tissue recognition using spectrum characteristics of the regional structure scattering. 展开更多

The seasonal-frozen layer may have an influence on embankment motion from train-induced vibrations. Based on the field monitoring in a seasonally-frozen region of northeastern China, the effects of the frozen layer on the embankment responses to train-induced vibration were investigated in winter and summer via acceleration time histories and acceleration frequency spectrums. The results show that: (1) Compared to unfrozen soil conditions, the amplitudes of longitudinal and vertical vibrations at the points near the rail were increased, different influences of freight versus high-speed trains are the most evident. (2) With greater distance from the rail, the dominant frequency ranges of embankment with both frozen and unfrozen layers narrowed and shifted to low frequency bands. (3) The predominant frequency of embankment vibration with frozen soil layers shifted to higher frequencies with the increased train speed, although there was little change with unfrozen condition. Layer condition (frozen versus unfrozen) and distance to rail both play important roles in investigating the embankment vibration characteristics and rail transit field monitoring to improve the criterion of the rail construction in seasonally-frozen regions. 展开更多

To study the mechanism of Cu toxicity on wheat,the characteristics of Cu stress in pivotal growth periods of wheat were explored by field planting methods.The results showed that at the tillering stage,the concentrations of Cu in the leaf cell fluid were significantly higher than those in the cell wall,and the Cu was primarily enriched in cell fluid.At the jointing and heading stages,the Cu concentration in the leaf cell wall was significantly higher than that in the cell fluid,and the main enrichment was transferred to the cell wall.During the above three growth stages,no Cu was discovered in leaf organelles.Further studies showed that the total soluble protein content in wheat leaves at the tillering and jointing stages showed a trend of first rising and then falling with increased Cu dosage.At the heading stage,under low and medium Cu stress,the total soluble protein content showed no remarkable change.Malondialdehyde(MDA)content at the tillering stage increased with the increase of Cu concentration in the soil,while MDA content did not change noticeably at the jointing and heading stages.At the tillering and heading stages,the low concentrations of Cu increased peroxidase(POD)activity.The POD activity decreased gradually with the increased Cu concentration.However,at the high concentrations of Cu,there was no significant difference in the activity of POD.At the jointing stage,the POD activity did not change significantly under the low Cu stress while it was evidently inhibited under high Cu stress.Based on the above studies,further analyses on the correlation between canopy spectral characteristics and the Cu accumulation at different growth stages of leaf cells were performed,and a new combined index SIPI/NDVI705 performed well in Cu content prediction.The results showed that at different growth stages,different sensitive spectral characteristic parameters should be used to predict the Cu content in leaf cells. 展开更多

In order to study the propagation laws of acoustic wave of coal samples from the Upper Permian Xuanwei Formation in the east of Yunnan Province,China,under saturated water and dry conditions,the basic physical parameters,acoustic parameters and anisotropic parameters were obtained through the experiments.Based on FFT and wavelet analysis theory,the spectral characteristics of coal samples under different conditions were studied.The results show that physical parameters of coal samples in different directions have different values,that is,the anisotropy of coal samples is obvious.When the coal samples are saturated with water,the acoustic velocities and the attenuation coefficient increase,whereas the dominant frequency decreases.The signal amplitude of the frequency domain significantly decreases,that is,the internal structure of coal samples is damaged.The P-wave velocity and S-wave velocity increase with the increase of the confining pressure,whereas the anisotropy parameters decrease with the increase of the confining pressure.Overall,this study provides the basis to understand basic acoustic information and anisotropy characteristics of coal samples. 展开更多

With the rapid development of urban traffic networks,subway stations will inevitably be constructed close to other structures in the future.The subject of this study is a new subway station in China,combined with a flyover standing on the roof,owing to its unique structural design.Based on the time history-analysis method,the dynamic responses of the subway station,piers,and piles under seismic conditions were examined.The results show that the internal force and deformation of the underground structure vary under seismic excitation in different directions and are more dangerous in the under transverse excitation than under longitudinal excitation.Moreover,the dynamic response of the underground structure is severe under the action of low-frequency-rich Wenchuan waves,and the resonance effect is distinct.The load of the bridge was found to inhibit the deformation of the underground structure to a certain extent.Furthermore,the mid-pillar and slab-mid-pillar connections are the weakest parts,and special attention should be paid to their seismic design.Meanwhile,the piers and piles can maintain good working condition under the action of an earthquake with the peak acceleration of 0.1g. 展开更多

In a self-sensing active magnetic bearing (AMB) system driven by pulse width modulation (PWM) switching power amplifiers, the rotor position information can be extracted from coil current and voltage signals by a specific signal demodulation process. In this study, to reduce the complexity of hardware, the coil voltage signal was not filtered but measured in the form of a duty cycle by the eCAP port of DSP (TMS320F28335). A mathematical model was established to provide the relationship between rotor position, current ripple, and duty cycle. Theoretical analysis of the amplitude-frequency characteristic of the coil current at the switching frequency was presented using Fourier series, Jacobi-Anger identity, and Bessel function. Experimental results showed that the time-varying duty cycle causes infinite side frequencies around the switching frequency. The side frequency interval depends on the varying frequency of the duty cycle. Rotor position can be calculated by measuring the duty cycle and demodulating the coil current ripple. With this self-sensing strategy, the rotor system supported by AMBs can steadily rotate at a speed of 3000 r/min. 展开更多
