Spin injection, spin diffusion, and spin detection are investigated in Co/Ag/Co lateral spin valves at room temperature.Clear spin accumulation signals are detected by the non-local measurement. By fitting the results to the one-dimensional diffusion equation,8.6% spin polarization of the Co/Ag interface and -180 nm spin diffusion length in Ag are obtained.Thermal treatment results show that the spin accumulation signal drastically decreases after 100℃ annealing, and disappears under 200℃ annealing. Our results demonstrate that, compared to the spin diffusion length, the decrease and the disappearance of the spin accumulation signal are mainly dominated by the variation of the interfacial spin polarization of the Co/Ag interface. 展开更多

This study has developed an efficient method to achieve excellent thermal dimensional stability and desired dimensions of hollow polyester fiber. Firstly, the influence of thermal treatment temperate( 140-180 ℃) on the degree of shrinkage of fiber was investigated. The influence was also analyzed with a 2nd heating to simulate the application situation. It was discovered that the heat treatment at a temperature which was above the application temperature( 2nd heating) would efficiently remove the internal stress in the fiber and improve the thermal dimensional stability.Secondly, the impact of heat treatment temperature on the fiber diameter and the degree of hollowness were studied. The results implied that with a fixed fiber length, higher treatment temperature led to thinner fiber and a lower degree of hollowness.Last but not least, key parameters that could further influence the fiber dimensions were investigated. The results suggested that the fiber diameters and the degree of hollowness could be further controlled by tuning the drawing speed, the spinning meter pump output and cooling status while the spinneret parameters were fixed. 展开更多

The spin transport was investigated in permally (Py)/MgO/Ag junction with lateral spin valve structure. Non-local lateral spin valves measurement was carried out to determin, the apin accumulignal in Ag strip, and the spin dif u^sion - length in Ag of the lateral spin valves was extracted from devices with the different distances between injector and detector. The experimental results are found that spin accumulation and spin diffusion length (2s) could be significantly enhanced in Ag strip with MgO capping layer, and those effects may be attributed to the low-surface spin scattering rate in Ag with an MgO cap- ping layer. 展开更多

A series of polyimide(PI)/multi-walled carbon nanotube(MWCNT) composite fibers were prepared by copolymerizing a mixture of monomers and carboxylic-functionalized MWCNTs, followed by dry-jet wet spinning, thermal imidization, and hot-drawing process. The content of the carboxylic groups of MWCNTs significantly increased when treated with mixed acid, whereas their length decreased with treatment time. Both the carboxylic content and length of MWCNTs influenced the mechanical properties of the composite fibers. Fiber added with 0.1 wt% MWCNTs treated for 4 h exhibited the best mechanical properties, i.e., 1.4 GPa tensile strength and 14.30% elongation at break, which were 51% and 32% higher than those of pure PI fibers, respectively. These results indicated that a suitable MWCNT content strengthened and toughened the resultant PI composite fibers, simultaneously. Moreover, raising draw ratio resulted in the increase of tensile strength and tensile modulus of the composite fibers. 展开更多

We have analyzed the spin transport behaviour of four II-VI semiconductor nanowires by simulating spin polarized transport using a semi-classical Monte-Carlo approach. The different scattering mechanisms con- sidered are acoustic phonon scattering, surface roughness scattering, polar optical phonon scattering, and spin flip scattering. The II-VI materials used in our study are CdS, CdSe, ZnO and ZnS. The spin transport behaviour is first studied by varying the temperature (4-500 K) at a fixed diameter of 10 nm and also by varying the diameter (8-12 nm) at a fixed temperature of 300 K. For II-VI compounds, the dominant mechanism is for spin relaxation; D'yakonovPerel and Elliot Yafet have been actively employed in the first order model to simulate the spin transport. The dependence of the spin relaxation length (SRL) on the diameter and temperature has been analyzed. 展开更多
