Linear and nonlinear media are used in the resonator respectively. By varying the refractive index of the linear medium, the transmission properties can be changed obviously, and the effect caused by changing the incident intensity with a nonlinear medium is similar. Several resonant modes that are applicable can be enhanced by changing the position of the gap of the split ring. Thus, the transmission properties can be modulated by adjusting the size of the gap, varying the refractive index, and changing the incident intensity of the input light. These methods may play significant roles in applications of optical integrated circuits and nanostructural devices.展开更多

The structure of antenna is consisted of a single spilt-ring resonator and a coupled microstrip line. The designed antenna is numerically optimized with CST Microwave Studio. It is found that the incident angle dependent phase delay and coupling conditions of neighboring split-ring resonator (SRR) units play important roles and greatly change both the transmission and reflection spectra for the resonant feature of linear charge oscillations. We present two types of MSPCA, which contain split-ring resonators(SRRs) and dipole photoconductive antennas(D-PCAs). The experimental results reveal that when the femtosecond laser is pumping onto the split position of the SRR, the maximum THz radiation power is enhanced by 92 times compared to pumping at the electrode edge of the D-PCA. Two π phase shifts occur as the pumping laser propagates from the negative electrode to the positive electrode. Analysis shows that photoinduced carrier charges move within the split position of the SRR.展开更多

Their energy gap(D), critical temperature(T_(c)),and quasiparticle density of states(QDOS) distribution, however, deviate from the classical BCS theory due to the disorder effects. The Usadel equation, which takes account of elastic scattering, non-elastic scattering, and electro–phonon coupling, can be applied to explain and describe these deviations. This paper presents numerical simulations of the disorder effects based on the Usadel equation to investigate their effects on the △, Tc, QDOS distribution, and complex conductivity of the NbTiN film. Furthermore, NbTiN superconducting resonators with coplanar waveguide(CPW) structures are fabricated and characterized at different temperatures to validate our numerical simulations. By investigating the influence of the asymmetrical arm width in typical SSRRs, we find that the variation of the arm width enables a blue shift of the resonance frequency for the 0° polarized wave and a red shift of the resonance frequency for the 90° polarized wave. Thus, the resonance frequency for the 0° polarized wave and the resonance frequency for the 90° polarized wave will be identical by asymmetrically adjusting the arm width of the SSRR. Two modified, split-ring resonators(MSRRs) that are insensitive to the polarization with asymmetrical arm widths are designed, fabricated, and tested. Excellent agreement between the simulations and experiments for the MSRRs demonstrates the polarization insensitivity with asymmetrical arm widths. This work opens new opportunities for the investigation of polarization-insensitive, split-ring resonator metamaterials and will broaden the applications of split-ring resonators in various terahertz devices.展开更多

This effect is based on the splitting of counterclockwise and clockwise modes in the ring resonator. Within a proposed resonator-waveguide configuration the superposition between the two degeneracy broken modes produces a transparency window, which can be closed, open, and modified by tuning the applied magnetic field. This phenomenon is an analogue of Autler–Townes splitting, and the magnetic field is equivalent to the strong external pump field. We provide a theoretic analysis on the induced transparency, and numerically demonstrate the effect using full-wave simulation. Feasible implication of this effect and its potential applications are also discussed.展开更多

文摘A polarization-insensitive, square split-ring resonator(SSRR) is simulated and experimented. This work opens new opportunities for the investigation of polarization-insensitive, split-ring resonator metamaterials and will broaden the applications of split-ring resonators in various terahertz devices.

文摘A tunable metamaterial filter is designed based on split-ring resonators(SRRs) in this paper. The metamaterial filter has a compact size of 15 mm×20 mm, and miniaturization is realized by using the SRRs. By loading tunable devices, the continuous operation of the filter is realized at X band(from 10.7 GHz to 12 GHz), the bandwidth is about 13%, the minimum return loss is 35 dB, and the maximum insertion loss is 0.37 d B. The results illustrate that the metamaterial filter shows the compact size, wide bandwidth and good band pass characteristics.

文摘Transmission spectroscopy of two Nb double superconducting split-ring samples with different thicknesses on MgO substrates was measured by a continuous Tera-Hertz spectrometer. The transmission curves of two different samples with the thicknesses of 50 and 150 nm at 7.5 K show dips at 480,545 GHz,respectively, which origin from the different capacities and inductances of the samples. For the sample of 50 nm,the dip shifts to lower frequency, also decreases in depth and increases in width with temperature or field increasing below T c of Nb film, while the sample of 150 nm does not show such a phenomenon. This thickness-dependent transmission behavior is due to the kinetic inductance and conductivity change of superfluid electrons in Nb film and may suggest a practical tunable THz filter based on the thinner samples.

文摘Photodetectors with long detection distances and fast response are important media in constructing a non-contact human-machine interface for the Masterly Internet of Things(MIT).All-inorganic perovskites have excellent optoelectronic performance with high moisture and oxygen resistance, making them one of the promising candidates for high-performance photodetectors, but a simple,low-cost and reliable fabrication technology is urgently needed. Here,a dual-function laser etching method is developed to complete both the lyophilic split-ring structure and electrode patterning. This novel split-ring structure can capture the perovskite precursor droplet efficiently and achieve the uniform and compact deposition of CsPbBr3 films.Furthermore, our devices based on laterally conducting split-ring structured photodetectors possess outstanding performance, including the maximum responsivity of 1.44×105 mA W^(−1),a response time of 150μs in 1.5 kHz and one-unit area<4×10-2 mm2.Based on these split-ring photodetector arrays,we realized three-dimensional gesture detection with up to 100 mm distance detection and up to 600 mm s^(−1) speed detection, for low-cost,integrative,and non-contact human-machine interfaces. Finally,we applied this MIT to wearable and flexible digital gesture recognition watch panel, safe and comfortable central controller integrated on the car screen, and remote control of the robot, demonstrating the broad potential applications.

文摘We explore the use of the parallel-plate resonator for the study of thin cuboid samples over a wide range of magnetic resonance frequencies. The parallel-plate resonator functions at frequencies from tens to hundreds of MHz.Seven parallel-plate resonators are presented and discussed in a frequency range from 8 to 500 MHz.Magnetic resonance experiments were performed on both horizontal and vertical bore magnet systems with lithium and hydrogen nuclei.Parallel-plate radiofrequency(RF)probes are easy to build and easy to optimize.Experiments and simulations showed good sensitivity of the parallel-plate RF probe geometry with a small decrease in sensitivity at higher frequencies.

文摘Metamaterial based on local resonance has excellent vibration attenuation ability in low frequency. In this research,an attempt was performed to make meta-mortar with spring-mass resonators to attenuate vibration and shock hazards.Single-spring-mass resonators and dual-spring-mass resonators were designed and made using lead or aluminum blocks and SWPB springs encased by PMMA(polymethyl methacrylate)or aluminum frames. These resonators were placed into mortar blocks to make metamortar specimens.Vibration attenuation effect was investigated by sweeping vibration with frequency from 50 Hz to 2000 Hz.All these meta-mortar blocks exhibit excellent vibration attenuation ability in the designed band gaps. With dual-spring-mass resonators,meta-mortar blocks have two distinct vibration attenuation bands.

文摘This paper is focused on electrode design for piezoelectric tuning fork resonators. The relationship between the performance and electrode pattern of aluminum nitride piezoelectric tuning fork resonators vibrating in the in-plane flexural mode is investigated based on a set of resonators with different electrode lengths, widths, and ratios.Experimental and simulation results show that the electrode design impacts greatly the multimode effect induced from torsional modes but has little influence on other loss mechanisms.Optimizing the electrode design suppresses the torsional mode successfully, thereby increasing the ratio of impedance at parallel and series resonant frequencies(R_(p)/R_(s))by more than 80%and achieving a quality factor(Q)of 7753,an effective electromechanical coupling coefficient(kt_(eff)^(2))of 0.066%,and an impedance at series resonant frequency(R_(m))of 23.6 kΩ.The proposed approach shows great potential for high-performance piezoelectric resonators, which are likely to be fundamental building blocks for sensors with high sensitivity and low noise and power consumption.

文摘We show that an optical transparency can be obtained by using only one single magneto-optical ring resonator. Feasible implication of this effect and its potential applications are also discussed.
