The first is to give a description of irreducible tempered representations of classical p-adic groups which follows naturMly the classification of irreducible square integrable representations modulo cuspidal data obtained by Mceglin and the author of this article (2002). The second aim of the paper is to give a description of an invariant (partially defined function) of irreducible square integrable representation of a classical p-adic group (defined by Mceglin using embeddings) in terms of subquotients of Jacquet modules. As an application, we describe behavior of partially defined function in one construction of square integrable representations of a bigger group from such representations of a smaller group (which is related to deformation of Jordan blocks of representations).展开更多

A generalization of a version of Schur's lemma on a locally compact groupoid is given. This is used in order to extend some well-known results from locally compact groups to the case of locally compact groupoids. Indeed, we have proved that if L is a continuous irreducible representation of a compact groupoid G defined by a continuous Hilbert bundle H = (Hu)u∈G^0, then each Hu is finite dimensional. It is also shown that if L is an irreducible representation of a principal locally compact groupoid defined by a Hilbert bundle (G^0, (Hu),μ), then dimHu = 1 (u ∈ G^0). Furthermore it is proved that every square integrable representation of a locally compact groupoid is unitary equivalent to a subrepresentation of the left regular representation. Furthermore, for r-discrete groupoids, it is shown that every irreducible subrepresentation of the left regular representation is square integrable.展开更多

In literature, proportional integral (PI) based controller constants are optimized for voltage stability in hybrid systems due to the interaction of load disturbances and input power disturbances. These conventional controlling techniques use the integral square error (ISE) criterion with an open loop load model. An ANFIS tuned constants of a STATCOM controller for controlling the reactive power requirement to stabilize the voltage variation is proposed in the paper. Moreover, the interaction between the load and the isolated power system is developed in terms of closed loop load interaction with the system. Furthermore, a comparison of transient responses of IHPS is also presented when the system has only the STATCOM and the static compensation requirement of the induction generator is fulfilled by the fixed capacitor, dynamic compensation requirement, meanwhile, is fulfilled by STATCOM. The model is tested for a 1% step increase in reactive power load demand at t = 0 s and then a sudden change of 3% from the 1% at t = 0.01 s for a 1% step increase in power input at variable wind speed model.展开更多

In this paper we will integrate them and define a histogram-kernel error based on the integrated square error between histogram and binned kernel density estimator, and then exploit its asymptotic properties. 3ust as indicated in this paper, the histogram-kernel error only depends on the choice of bin width and the data for the given prior kernel densities. The asymptotic optimal bin width is derived by minimizing the mean histogram-kernel error. By comparing with Scott's optimal bin width formula for a histogram, a new method is proposed to construct the data-based histogram without knowledge of the underlying density function. Monte Carlo study is used to verify the usefulness of our method for different kinds of density functions and sample sizes.展开更多

These methods assume that the tasks share the same kernel, which could limit their applications because in practice different tasks may need different kernels. The main challenge of introducing multiple kernels into multiple tasks is that models from different reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces (RKHSs) are not comparable, making it difficult to exploit relations among tasks. This paper addresses the challenge by formalizing the problem in the square integrable space (SIS). Specially, it proposes a kernel-based method which makes use of a regularization term defined in SIS to represent task relations. We prove a new representer theorem for the proposed approach in SIS. We further derive a practical method for solving the learning problem and conduct consistency analysis of the method. We discuss the relationship between our method and an existing method. We also give an SVM (support vector machine)- based implementation of our method for multi-label classification. Experiments on an artificial example and two real-world datasets show that the proposed method performs better than the existing method.展开更多
