Based on the restricted system equivalent (r.s.e.) transformation and by introducing new state vectors, the singular system is transformed into a discrete-time Markovian jump standard linear system, and the linear matrix inequality (LMI) conditions for the discrete-time Markovian jump singular systems to be regular, causal, stochastically stable, and stochastically stable with 7- disturbance attenuation are obtained, respectively. With these conditions, the robust state feedback stochastic stabilization problem and H-infinity control problem are solved, and the LMI conditions are obtained. The deadbands were respectively set up at the sensor to the contro...The stability analysis and stabilization problems of the wireless networked control systems(WNCSs) with signal transmission deadbands were considered. The deadbands were respectively set up at the sensor to the controller and the controller to the actor sides in the WNCS, which were used to reduce data transmission, furthermore, to decrease the network collision and node energy consumption. Under the consideration of time-varying delays and signal transmission deadbands, the model for the WNCS was presented. A novel Lyapunov functional which took full advantages of the network factors was exploited. Meanwhile, new stability analysis and stabilization conditions for the WNCS were proposed, which described the relationship of the delay bounds, the transmission deadband bounds and the system stability. Two examples were used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods. The results show that the proposed approach can guarantee asymptotical stability of the system and reduce the data transmission effectively.展开更多

Any inadequate on-bottom stability design could result in disruption and failure, having a devastating impact on the ec...Pipelines are the critical link between major offshore oil and gas developments and the mainland. Any inadequate on-bottom stability design could result in disruption and failure, having a devastating impact on the economy and environment. Predicting the stability behavior of offshore pipelines in hurricanes is therefore vital to the assessment of both new design and existing assets. The Gulf of Mexico has a very dense network of pipeline systems constructed on the seabed. During the last two decades, the Gulf of Mexico has experienced a series of strong hurricanes, which have destroyed, disrupted and destabilized many pipelines. This paper first reviews some of these engineering cases. Following that, three case studies are retrospectively simulated using an in-house developed program. The study utilizes the offshore pipeline and hurricane details to conduct a Dynamic Lateral Stability analysis, with the results providing evidence as to the accuracy of the modeling techniques developed.展开更多
The effects of temperature,pH and long-term storage on the secondary structure and conformation changes of bovine haemoglobin(bHb) were studied using circular dichroism(CD) and ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis) spectr...The effects of temperature,pH and long-term storage on the secondary structure and conformation changes of bovine haemoglobin(bHb) were studied using circular dichroism(CD) and ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis) spectroscopies.Neural network software was used to deconvolute the CD data to obtain the fractional content of the five secondary structures.The storage stability of bHb solutions in pH 6,7 and8 buffers was significantly higher at 4 ℃ than at 23 ℃ for the first 3 days.A complete denaturation of bHb was observed after 40 days irrespective of storage temperature or pH.The bHb solutions were also exposed to heating and cooling cycles between 25 and 65 ℃ and structural changes were followed by UVvis and CD spectroscopies.These experiments demonstrated that α-helix content of bHb decreased steadily with the increasing temperature above 35 ℃ at all pH values.The loss in a-helicity and gain in random coil conformations was pH-dependent and the greatest under alkaline conditions.Furthermore,there was minimal recovery of the secondary structure content upon cooling to 25 ℃.The use of bHb as a model drug is very common and this study elucidates the significance of storage and processing conditions on its stability.展开更多
By using oxalate group-modified TiO2 nanoparticles as the dispersing phase, different kinds of silicone oil with various viscosities and terminal groups(hydroxyl, hydrogen, and methyl) were used as the dispersing me...By using oxalate group-modified TiO2 nanoparticles as the dispersing phase, different kinds of silicone oil with various viscosities and terminal groups(hydroxyl, hydrogen, and methyl) were used as the dispersing media to prepare different electrorheological(ER) fluids. Their zero-field viscosity, yield stress under direct current electric fields, ER efficiency, shear stability, leakage current density, and sedimentation stability were tested to study the effect of carrier liquid on the properties of ER fluids. The results indicate that the zerofield viscosity, the yield stress, and the leakage current density increase with increasing viscosity of the silicone oils. The effects of the viscosity on the ER efficiency, the shear stability, and the sedimentation ratio depend on the competition between the viscous resistance and the aggregation of the particles. Among the three ER fluids prepared with silicone oil with different terminal groups, hydroxyl-terminated oil based sample has the highest zero-field viscosity, the highest field-induced yield stress and ER efficiency, the largest current density, and the best sedimentation stability.展开更多

Its combined string stability condition can be obtained through the method of the ring-road based string stability analysis. However, the partial string stability about traffic fluctuation propagated backward or forward was neglected, which will be analyzed in detail in this work by the method of transfer function and its H∞ norm from the viewpoint of control theory. Then, through comparing the conditions of combined and partial string stabilities, their relationships can make traffic flow be divided into three distinguishable regions, displaying various combined and partial string stability performance. Finally, the numerical experiments verify the theoretical results and find that the final displaying string stability or instability performance results from the accumulated and offset effects of traffic fluctuations propagated from different directions.展开更多

CeO_2 stabilized ZrO_2 ultra fine nanoparticles were successfully synthesized via a simple and effective sol-gel synthetic approach by using zirconylchloride octahydrate, cerium nitrate hexahydrate, and citric acid as...CeO_2 stabilized ZrO_2 ultra fine nanoparticles were successfully synthesized via a simple and effective sol-gel synthetic approach by using zirconylchloride octahydrate, cerium nitrate hexahydrate, and citric acid as starting materials. A series of techniques, including X-ray diffraction(XRD), thermogravimetry(TG), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), and N_2-sorption analysis, were used to characterize the structure and morphology of the asprepared samples. XRD studies indicate that the as-synthesized sample is of well crystallized tetragonal phase of CeO_2 stabilized ZrO_2 with high purity. TEM images show that the as-synthesized sample is composed of a large number of fine dispersive nanoparticles with an average size about 10 nm. The as-synthesized tetragonal CeO_2 stabilized ZrO_2 sample was heated at different temperatures in order to evaluate its thermal stability. The exprimental results reveal that the as-synthesized tetragonal CeO_2 stabilized ZrO_2 sample exhibits excellent stability without the occurrence of phase transformation.展开更多

Two model reference adaptive system (MRAS) estimators are developed for identifying the parameters of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) based on the Lyapunov stability theorem and the Popov stability crit...Two model reference adaptive system (MRAS) estimators are developed for identifying the parameters of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) based on the Lyapunov stability theorem and the Popov stability criterion, respectively. The proposed estimators only need online measurement of currents, voltages, and rotor speed to effectively estimate stator resistance, inductance, and rotor flux-linkage simultaneously. The performance of the estimators is compared and verified through simulations and experiments, which show that the two estimators are simple, have good robustness against parameter variation, and are accurate in parameter tracking. However, the estimator based on the Popov stability criterion, which can overcome parameter variation in a practical system, is superior in terms of response speed and convergence speed since there are both proportional and integral units in the estimator, in contrast to only one integral unit in the estimator based on the Lyapunov stability theorem. In addition, the estimator based on the Popov stability criterion does not need the expertise that is required in designing a Lyapunov function.展开更多

First of all, the dy...Angular velocity stabilization control and attitude stabilization control for an underactuated spacecraft using only two single gimbal control moment gyros (SGCMGs) as actuators is investigated. First of all, the dynamic model of the underactuated spacecraft is established and the singularity of different configurations with the two SGCMGs is analyzed. Under the assumption that the gimbal axes of the two SGCMGs are installed in any direction, and that the total system angular momentum is not zero, a state feedback control law via Lyapunov method is designed to globally asymptotically stabilize the angular velocity of spacecraft. Under the assumption that the gimbal axes of the two SGCMGs are coaxially installed along anyone of the three principal axes of spacecraft inertia, and that the total system angular momentum is zero, a discontinuous state feedback control law is designed to stabilize three-axis attitude of spacecraft with respect to the inertial frame. Furthermore, the singularity escape of SGCMGs for the above two control problems is also studied. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of the control laws.展开更多
This paper investigates the error reachable set based stabilization problem for a class of discrete-time switched linear systems with bounded peak disturbances under persistent dwell-time(PDT)constraint.A double-clock...This paper investigates the error reachable set based stabilization problem for a class of discrete-time switched linear systems with bounded peak disturbances under persistent dwell-time(PDT)constraint.A double-clockdependent control scheme is presented that can split the disturbed switched system into a nominal system and an error system,and assign to each system a controller scheduled by a clock.A necessary and sufficient convex stability criterion is presented for the nominal system,and is further extended to the stabilization controller design with a nominal clock.In the presence of bounded peak disturbances,another stabilization controller with an error clock is developed for the error system,with the purpose of‘‘minimizing’’the reachable set of the error system by the ellipsoidal techniques.It is demonstrated that the disturbed system is also globally exponentially stable in the sense of converging to an over approximation of the reachable set of the error system,i.e.,a union of a family of bounding ellipsoids,that can also be regarded as the cross section of a tube containing the trajectories of the disturbed system.Two numerical examples are provided to verify the effectiveness of the developed results.展开更多

Asymptotic stability, mean-square stability, and stochastic s...This paper is concerned with the stability analysis and stabilization of networked discrete-time and sampled-data linear systems with random packet losses. Asymptotic stability, mean-square stability, and stochastic stability are considered. For networked discrete-time linear systems, the packet loss period is assumed to be a finite-state Markov chain. We establish that the mean-square stability of a related discrete-time system which evolves in random time implies the mean-square stability of the system in deterministic time by using the equivalence of stability properties of Markovian jump linear systems in random time. We also establish the equivalence of asymptotic stability for the systems in deterministic discrete time and in random time. For networked sampled-data systems, a binary Markov chain is used to characterize the packet loss phenomenon of the network. In this case, the packet loss period between two transmission instants is driven by an identically independently distributed sequence assuming any positive values. Two approaches, namely the Markov jump linear system approach and randomly sampled system approach, are introduced. Based on the stability results derived, we present methods for stabilization of networked sampled-data systems in terms of matrix inequalities. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the design methods of stabilizing controllers.展开更多

A series of techniques, including X-ray diffraction(XRD), thermogravimetry(TG), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), and N_2-sorption analysis, were used to characterize the structure and morphology of the asprepared samples. XRD studies indicate that the as-synthesized sample is of well crystallized tetragonal phase of CeO_2 stabilized ZrO_2 with high purity. TEM images show that the as-synthesized sample is composed of a large number of fine dispersive nanoparticles with an average size about 10 nm. The as-synthesized tetragonal CeO_2 stabilized ZrO_2 sample was heated at different temperatures in order to evaluate its thermal stability. The exprimental results reveal that the as-synthesized tetragonal CeO_2 stabilized ZrO_2 sample exhibits excellent stability without the occurrence of phase transformation.

文摘Internal transport barriers (ITBs) are phenomena associated with improved confinement mode of tokamak plasmas. Within the region where the ITB locates, the plasma pressure has a large gradient while the magnetic shear s has a minimum so that within and near the ITB, the absolute value of the shear is very low. Physics involved is plentiful, from the macroscopic ( MHD ) stability, to the suppression of microscopic instabilities thought to be responsible for anomalous transport. The treatment of very low shear also poses some theoretical difficulties.

文摘Two model reference adaptive system (MRAS) estimators are developed for identifying the parameters of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) based on the Lyapunov stability theorem and the Popov stability criterion, respectively. The proposed estimators only need online measurement of currents, voltages, and rotor speed to effectively estimate stator resistance, inductance, and rotor flux-linkage simultaneously. The performance of the estimators is compared and verified through simulations and experiments, which show that the two estimators are simple, have good robustness against parameter variation, and are accurate in parameter tracking. However, the estimator based on the Popov stability criterion, which can overcome parameter variation in a practical system, is superior in terms of response speed and convergence speed since there are both proportional and integral units in the estimator, in contrast to only one integral unit in the estimator based on the Lyapunov stability theorem. In addition, the estimator based on the Popov stability criterion does not need the expertise that is required in designing a Lyapunov function.

文摘This note deals with the problem of stabilization/stability for neutral systems with nonlinear perturbations. A new stabilization/stability scheme is presented. Using improved Lyapunov functionals, less conservative stabilization/stability conditions are derived for such systems based on linear matrix inequalities (LMI). Numerical examples are provided to show that the proposed results significantly improve the allowed upper bounds of the delay size over some existing ones in the literature.

文摘The problem of the stability analysis and controller design which the network-induced delays and data dropout problems network-induced delays are assumed to be time-varying and bounded, for Lurie networked control systems (NCSs) is investigated, in are simultaneously considered. By considering that the and analyzing the relationship between the delay and its upper bound, employing a Lyapunov-Krasovskii function and an integral inequality approach, an improved stability criterion for NCSs is proposed. Furthermore, the resulting condition is extended to design a less conservative state feedback controller by employing an improved cone complementary linearization (ICCL) algorithm. Numerical examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the method.
文摘Angular velocity stabilization control and attitude stabilization control for an underactuated spacecraft using only two single gimbal control moment gyros (SGCMGs) as actuators is investigated. First of all, the dynamic model of the underactuated spacecraft is established and the singularity of different configurations with the two SGCMGs is analyzed. Under the assumption that the gimbal axes of the two SGCMGs are installed in any direction, and that the total system angular momentum is not zero, a state feedback control law via Lyapunov method is designed to globally asymptotically stabilize the angular velocity of spacecraft. Under the assumption that the gimbal axes of the two SGCMGs are coaxially installed along anyone of the three principal axes of spacecraft inertia, and that the total system angular momentum is zero, a discontinuous state feedback control law is designed to stabilize three-axis attitude of spacecraft with respect to the inertial frame. Furthermore, the singularity escape of SGCMGs for the above two control problems is also studied. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of the control laws.

文摘This paper investigates the error reachable set based stabilization problem for a class of discrete-time switched linear systems with bounded peak disturbances under persistent dwell-time(PDT)constraint.A double-clockdependent control scheme is presented that can split the disturbed switched system into a nominal system and an error system,and assign to each system a controller scheduled by a clock.A necessary and sufficient convex stability criterion is presented for the nominal system,and is further extended to the stabilization controller design with a nominal clock.In the presence of bounded peak disturbances,another stabilization controller with an error clock is developed for the error system,with the purpose of‘‘minimizing’’the reachable set of the error system by the ellipsoidal techniques.It is demonstrated that the disturbed system is also globally exponentially stable in the sense of converging to an over approximation of the reachable set of the error system,i.e.,a union of a family of bounding ellipsoids,that can also be regarded as the cross section of a tube containing the trajectories of the disturbed system.Two numerical examples are provided to verify the effectiveness of the developed results.

文摘Icing is one of the crucial factors that could pose great threat to flight safety,and thus research on stability and stability region of aircraft safety under icing conditions is significant for control and flight.Nonlinear dynamical equations and models of aerodynamic coefficients of an aircraft are set up in this paper to study the stability and stability region of the aircraft under an icing condition.Firstly,the equilibrium points of the iced aircraft system are calculated and analyzed based on the theory of differential equation stability.Secondly,according to the correlation theory about equilibrium points and the stability region,this paper estimates the multidimensional stability region of the aircraft,based on which the stability regions before and after icing are compared.Finally,the results are confirmed by the time history analysis.The results can give a reference for stability analysis and envelope protection of the nonlinear system of an iced aircraft.

文摘This paper is concerned with the stability analysis and stabilization of networked discrete-time and sampled-data linear systems with random packet losses. Asymptotic stability, mean-square stability, and stochastic stability are considered. For networked discrete-time linear systems, the packet loss period is assumed to be a finite-state Markov chain. We establish that the mean-square stability of a related discrete-time system which evolves in random time implies the mean-square stability of the system in deterministic time by using the equivalence of stability properties of Markovian jump linear systems in random time. We also establish the equivalence of asymptotic stability for the systems in deterministic discrete time and in random time. For networked sampled-data systems, a binary Markov chain is used to characterize the packet loss phenomenon of the network. In this case, the packet loss period between two transmission instants is driven by an identically independently distributed sequence assuming any positive values. Two approaches, namely the Markov jump linear system approach and randomly sampled system approach, are introduced. Based on the stability results derived, we present methods for stabilization of networked sampled-data systems in terms of matrix inequalities. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the design methods of stabilizing controllers.
