This study aims at providing explanations for how MNCs(multinational companies)proceed with their manipulation of resources and competencies in the entry process to a foreign market.To an increasing extent,such processes perform as a staging process of resource leverage.This study identifies three stages,using the multiple case study incorporating grounded theory:the initial stage,the adaptive intensification stage,and the advantage persistence stage.In the initial stage,an MNC’s entry decision tends to be based on the resource replication mode of resource leverage;the resource exploitation mode of resource leverage is used mainly in the adaptive intensification stage,and the resource exploration mode is used in the advantage persistence stage.This study suggests that these resource leverage modes incorporating their microfoundations can be viewed as a set of potential measurements for examining MNCs'dynamic capabilities in the entry process to a new host market. 展开更多

Many industrial products are normally processed through multiple manufacturing process stages before it becomes a final product.Statistical process control techniques often utilize standard Shewhart control charts to monitor these process stages.If the process stages are independent,this is a meaningful procedure.However,they are not independent in many manufacturing scenarios.The standard Shewhart control charts can not provide the information to determine which process stage or group of process stages has caused the problems(i.e.,standard Shewhart control charts could not diagnose dependent manufacturing process stages).This study proposes a selective neural network ensemble-based cause-selecting system of control charts to monitor these process stages and distinguish incoming quality problems and problems in the current stage of a manufacturing process.Numerical results show that the proposed method is an improvement over the use of separate Shewhart control chart for each of dependent process stages,and even ordinary quality practitioners who lack of expertise in theoretical analysis can implement regression estimation and neural computing readily. 展开更多

Studying urea formation by ammonolysis of propylene carbonate in a liquid phase showed that this process is two-stage, and proceeds through preferred formation of 2-hydroxypropyl carbamate, besides, the rate of the first stage is much higher than the rate of the second stage (urea formation). With the aid of the HPLC and HPLC/MS methods found some other intermediate products and offered consecutive-parallel scheme of the process. The obtained results explain the composition of impurities obtained during the production of the 13C-urea for diagnostic breath tests. 展开更多
