The problem of robust H-infinity fault-tolerant control against sensor failures for a class of uncertain descriptor systems via dynamical compensators is considered. Based on H-infinity theory in descriptor systems, a sufficient condition for the existence of dynamical compensators with H-infinity fault-tolerant function is derived and expressions for the gain matrices in the compensators are presented. The dynamical compensator guarantees that the resultant colsed-loop system is admissible; furthermore, it maintains certain H-infinity norm performance in the normal condition as well as in the event of sensor failures and parameter uncertainties. A new approach is proposed to describe the relationship between slow and fast subsystems of singular time- delay systems, based on which, a sufficient condition is presented for a singular time-delay system to be regular, impulse free and stable with an H-infinity performance. The robust H-infinity control problem is solved and an explicit expression of the desired state-feedback control law is also given. The obtained results are formulated in terms of strict linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) involving no decomposition of system matrices. Firstly, a deky-dependent bounded real lemma(BRL) of the time-deky descriptorsystems is presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs) by using a descriptor modeltransformation of the system and by taking a new Lyapunov-Krasovsii functional. The introducedfunctional does not require bounding for cross terms, so it has less conservation. Secondly, withthe help of the obtained bounded real lemma, a sufficient condition for the existence of a newdeky-dependent H-infinity state-feedback controller is shown in terms of nonlinear matrixinequalities and the solvability of the problem can be obtained by using an iterative algorithminvolving convex optimization. It is proposed to solve the NLMI iteratively by the idea of homotopy, where some of the variables are fixed alternately at each iteration to reduce the NLMI to a linear matrix inequality (LMI). Based on the flee-weighing matrix method, a dehy-dependent stability criterion satisfying a prescribed H-infinity norm bound is presented for an NCS with unknown, time-varying and bounded delays. And then, the criterion is transformed into sufficient conditions based on linear matrix inequalities for H-infinity control. The conditions thus obtained are also used to design an H-infinity state feedback controller. Then the sufficient condition of solvablity of the H-infinity control problem is presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities. This paper deals with the problems of robust reliable exponential stabilization and robust stochastic stabilization with H-infinity performance for a class of nonlinear uncertain time-delay stochastic systems with Markovian jumping parameters. The time delays are assumed to be dependent on the system modes. Delay-dependent conditions for the solvability of these problems are obtained via parameter-dependent Lyapunov functionals. Furthermore, it is shown that the desired state feedback controller can be designed by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities. Based on Hamiltonian formulation, this paper proposes a design approach to nonlinear feedback excitation control of synchronous generators with steam valve control, disturbances and unknown parameters. It is shown that the dynamics of the synchronous generators can be expressed as a dissipative Hamiltonian system, based on which an adaptive H-infinity controller is then designed for the systems by using the structure properties of dissipative Hamiltonian systems. We proposed a dynamic model identification and design of an H-Infinity (i.e.H) controller using a LightweightPiezo-Composite Actuator (LIPCA).A second-order dynamic model was obtained by using input and output data, and applyingan identification algorithm.The identified model coincides well with the real LIPCA.To reduce the resonating mode that istypical of piezoelectric actuators, a notch filter was used.A feedback controller using the Hcontrol scheme was designed basedon the identified dynamic model; thus, the LIPCA can be easily used as an actuator for biomemetic applications such as artificialmuscles or macro/micro positioning in bioengineering.The control algorithm was implemented using a microprocessor, analogfilters, and power amplifying drivers.Our simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed control algorithmworks well in real environment, providing robust performance and stability with uncertain disturbances. 展开更多

The problem of observer-based robust H-infinity control is addressed for a class of linear discrete-time switched systems with time-varying norm-bounded uncertainties by using switched Lyapunov function method. None of the individual subsystems is assumed to be robustly H-infinity solvable. A novel switched Lypunov function matrix with diagonal-block form is devised to overcome the difficulties in designing switching laws. For robust H-infinity stability analysis, two linear-matrix-inequality-based sufficient conditions are derived by only using the smallest region function strategy if some parameters are preselected. Then, the robust H-infinity control synthesis is studied using a switching state feedback and an observer-based switching dynamical output feedback. All the switching laws are simultaneously constructively designed. Finally, a simulation example is given to illustrate the validity of the results. 展开更多

This paper considers a fault-tolerant decentralized H-infinity control problem for multi-channel linear time-invariant systems. The purpose is to design a decentralized H-infinity output feedback controller to.stabilize the given system and achieve a certain H-infinity performance requirement both in the normal situation and in the situation where any one of the local controllers fails. The designed problem is reduced to a feasibility problem of a set of bilinear matrix inequalities (BMIs). An algorithm is proposed to solve the BMIs. First, the normal situation is considered where all the local controllers are functioning. The local controllers are obtained from a standard centralized H-infinity controller by using a homotopy method imposing a structural constraint progressively. Secondly, the above case is extended to the one where any one of the local controllers fails. We again use a homotopy method where the coefficient matrices of the failed controller are decreased progressively to zero. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by an example. 展开更多

Furthermore, new delay-dependent sufficient conditions for the existence of robust H-infinity controllers are presented in terms of nonlinear matrix inequalities. A general packet dropout model with multiple independent stochastic variables in the multiple channels case is adopted to describe the data missing in the limited communication channels. With the consideration of the sensor-to-controller and controller-to-actuator packet dropouts at the same time, a new method is pro- posed based on a separation lemma to design an observer-based H-infinity controller, which exponentially stabilizes the closed-loop system in the sense of mean square and also achieves a prescribed H-infinity disturbance attenuation level. Objectives:This study aimed to assess the nurses’knowledge and compliance with infection control standard precautions and evaluate the impact of the designed infection control educational program on nurses’knowledge and compliance with standard precautions at the maternity hospital.Materials and Methods:A quasi‑experimental one‑group pretest‑posttest design was used on convenient sample of 60 nurses working at Obstetrics and Gynecological hospital in Cairo University Hospital,Kasr El Ainy,who received“designed infection control educational program”for 6 months.The data were collected through the questionnaire comprising demographics,knowledge,and compliance with standard precautions questionnaire.The nurses’knowledge and compliance score were compared before and after intervention.Results:The studied nurses had higher level of knowledge(85.3%)and compliance(92.8%)regarding infection control standard precautions after the educational program compared to before the program.The results revealed statistically significant difference between before and after the program regarding nurses’knowledge score(15.5±2.9 vs.17.1±1.6,P<0.001)and compliance score(58.5±13.2 vs.74.3±5.1,P<0.001).In addition,there was insignificant relation between nurses’knowledge and compliance with standard precautions both before(r=0.952,P=0.474)and after educational program(r=0.164,P=0.223).Conclusion:The nurses’level of knowledge and compliance regarding infection control standard precautions was significantly improved after the program.Therefore,it is recommended that periodical educational programs regarding the standard precautions of infection control are essential for nurses at maternity hospital. 展开更多

Being expressed in terms of a group of bilinear matrix inequalities, the design algorithm is numerically tractable via an LMI optimization method.
