All-atom molecular dynamics (MD) simulations are uniquely suitable for it because of their atomic level resolution and accuracy. However, limited by computational ca- pabilities, nowadays even for small and fast-folding proteins, all-atom MD simulations of protein folding still presents a great challenge. An alternative way is to study unfolding process using MD simulations at high temperature. High temper- ature provides more energy to overcome energetic barriers to unfolding, and information obtained from studying unfolding can shed light on the mechanism of folding. In the present study, a 1000-ns MD simulation at high temperature (500 K) was performed to investigate the unfolding process of a small protein, chicken villin headpiece (HP-35). To infer the folding mechanism, a Markov state model was also built from our simulation, which maps out six macrostates during the folding/unfolding process as well as critical transitions between them, revealing the folding mechanism unambiguously.展开更多

There are hardly available such unified models. Thedisturbed state concept (DSC) is considered to be a unified approach and is able to provide materialcharacterization for almost all of the above factors. This paper presents a description of the DSC, andstatements for determination of parameters based on triaxial, multiaxial and interface tests. Statementsof DSC and validation at the specimen level and at the boundary value problem levels are also presented. An extensive list of publications by the author and others is provided at the end. 文摘The possibility of QQqq heavy-light four-quark bound states has been analyzed by means of the chiral SU(3) quark model, where Q is the heavy quark (c or b) and q is the light quark (u,d,or s).We obtain a bound state for the bbnn configuration with quantum number J^R=1^+,I=0 and for the ccnn(J^R=1+,I=0) configuration, which is not bound but slightly above the D~*D~* threshold (n is u or d quark).Meanwhile,we also conclude that a weakly bound state in bbnn system can also be found without considering the chiral quark interactions between the two light quarks, yet its binding energy is weaker than that with the chiral quark interactions.
文摘A unified constitutive modeling approach is highly desirable to characterize a wide range of engineeringmaterials subjected simultaneously to the effect of a number of factors such as elastic, plastic and creepdeformations, stress path, volume change, microcracking leading to fracture, failure and softening, stiffening, and mechanical and environmental forces. The DSC is considered tobe a unique and versatile procedure for modeling behaviors of engineering materials and interfaces. 2016 Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
