And two unbalance compensation methods—c...There are two kinds of unbalance vibrations—force vibration and displacement vibration due to the existence of unbalance excitation in active magnetic bearings(AMB) system. And two unbalance compensation methods—closed-loop feedback and open loop feed-forward are presented to reduce the force vibration. The transfer function order of the control system directly influencing the system stability will be increased when the closed-loop method is adopted, which makes the real-time compensation not easily achieved. While the open loop method would not increase the primary transfer function order, it provides conditions for real-time compensation. But the real-time compensation signals are not easy to be obtained in the open loop method. To implement real-time force compensation, a new method is proposed to reduce the force vibration caused by the rotor unbalance on the basis of AMB active control. The method realizes real-time and on-line force auto-compensation based on H∞ controller and one novel feed-forward compensation controller, which makes the rotor rotate around its inertia axis. The time-variable feed-forward compensatory signal is provided by a modified adaptive variable step-size least mean square(VSLMS) algorithm. And the relevant least mean square(LMS) algorithm parameters are used to solve the H∞ controller weighting functions. The simulation of the new method to compensate some frequency-variable and sinusoidal signals is completed by MATLAB programming, and real-time compensation is implemented in the actual AMB experimental system. The simulation and experiment results show that the compensation scheme can improve the robust stability and the anti-interference ability of the whole AMB system by using H∞ controller to achieve close-loop control, and then real-time force unbalance compensation is implemented. The proposed research provides a new control strategy containing real-time algorithm and H∞ controller for the force compensation of AMB system. And the stability of the control system is finally improved.展开更多

The proposed control approach combined the advantages of traditional feedback closed-loop position control and computed torque control based on inverse dynamic model. The feed-forward compensator used a nominal robot dynamics as accurate dynamic model and on-line identification with RBF-NN as uncertain part to improve dynamic modeling accu- racy. The proposed compensation was applied as velocity feed-forward by an inverse velocity controller that can con- vert torque signal into velocity in the standard industrial controller. Then, the need for a torque control interface was avoided in the real-time dynamic control of industrial robot. The simulations and experiments were carried out on a gas cutting manipulator. The results show that the proposed control approach can reduce steady-state error, suppress overshoot and enhance tracking accuracy and efficiency in joint space and Cartesian space, especially under high- speed condition.展开更多
A comparison of the effectiveness of installing reactive power compensators,such as shunt capacitors,static var compensators(SVCs),and static synchronous compensators(STATCOMs),was presented in large-scale power netwo...A comparison of the effectiveness of installing reactive power compensators,such as shunt capacitors,static var compensators(SVCs),and static synchronous compensators(STATCOMs),was presented in large-scale power networks.A suitable bus was first identified using modal analysis method.The single shunt capacitor,single SVC,and single STATCOM were installed separately on the most critical bus.The effects of the installation of different devices on power loss reduction,voltage profile improvement,and voltage stability margin enhancement were examined and compared for 57-and 118-bus transmission systems.The comparative study results show that SVC,and STATCOM are expensive compared to shunt capacitor,yet the effect of installing STATCOM is better than SVC and the effect of installing SVC is better than that of shunt capacitor in achieving power loss reduction,voltage profile improvement and voltage stability margin enhancement.展开更多
Since the dead zone phenomenon occurs in electro-hydraulic servo system, the output of the system corresponding to a sinusoidal input contains higher harmonic besides the fundamental input, which causes harmonic disto...Since the dead zone phenomenon occurs in electro-hydraulic servo system, the output of the system corresponding to a sinusoidal input contains higher harmonic besides the fundamental input, which causes harmonic distortion of the output signal. The method for harmonic cancellation based on adaptive filter is proposed. The task is accomplished by generating reference signals with frequency that should be eliminated from the output. The reference inputs are weighted by the adaptive filter in such a way that it closely matches the harmonic. The output of the adaptive filter is a harmonic replica and is injected to the fundamental signal such that the output harmonic is cancelled leaving the desired signal alone, and the total harmonic distortion (THD) is greatly reduced. The weights of filter are adjusted on-line according to the control error by using least-mean-square (LMS) algorithm. Simulation results performed with a hydraulic system demonstrate the efficiency and validity of the proposed adaptive feed-forward compensator (AFC) control scheme展开更多
In order to improve the Power Quality(PQ)of traction power supply system and reduce the power rating and operation cost of compensator,a Static VAR Compensator(SVC)integrated Railway Power Conditioner(RPC)is presented...In order to improve the Power Quality(PQ)of traction power supply system and reduce the power rating and operation cost of compensator,a Static VAR Compensator(SVC)integrated Railway Power Conditioner(RPC)is presented in this paper.RPC is a widely used device in the AC electrified railway systems to enhance the PQ indices of the main network.The next generation of this equipment is Active Power Quality Compensator(APQC).The major concern of these compensators is their high kVA rating.In this paper,a hybrid technique is proposed to solve aforementioned problems.A combination of SVC as an auxiliary device is employed together with the main compensators,i.e.,RPC and APQC that leads on to the reduction of power rating of the main compensators.The use of proposed scheme will cause to reduce significantly the initial investment cost of compensation system.The main compensators are only utilized to balance active powers of two adjacent feeder sections and suppress harmonic currents.The SVCs are used to compensate reactive power and suppress the third and fifth harmonic currents.In this paper firstly,the PQ compensation procedure in AC electrified railway is analyzed step by step.Then,the control strategies for SVC and the main compensators are presented.Finally,a simulation is fulfilled using Matlab/Simulink software to verify the effectiveness and validity of the proposed scheme and compensation strategy and also demonstrate that this technique could compensate all PQ problems.展开更多

Installation costs of DSTATCOM devic...This work presents a fuzzy based methodology for distribution system feeder reconfiguration considering DSTATCOM with an objective of minimizing real power loss and operating cost. Installation costs of DSTATCOM devices and the cost of system operation, namely, energy loss cost due to both reconfiguration and DSTATCOM placement, are combined to form the objective function to be minimized. The distribution system tie switches, DSTATCOM location and size have been optimally determined to obtain an appropriate operational condition. In the proposed approach, the fuzzy membership function of loss sensitivity is used for the selection of weak nodes in the power system for the placement of DSTATCOM and the optimal parameter settings of the DFACTS device along with optimal selection of tie switches in reconfiguration process are governed by genetic algorithm(GA). Simulation results on IEEE 33-bus and IEEE 69-bus test systems concluded that the combinatorial method using DSTATCOM and reconfiguration is preferable to reduce power losses to 34.44% for 33-bus system and to 45.43% for 69-bus system.展开更多

For dealing with the resonance fault of ultra-high voltage transformers(UHVTs)with the parallel thyristor controlled reactor(TCR)+the filter compensator(FC)type static var compensator(SVC)caused by dc magnetic biasing...For dealing with the resonance fault of ultra-high voltage transformers(UHVTs)with the parallel thyristor controlled reactor(TCR)+the filter compensator(FC)type static var compensator(SVC)caused by dc magnetic biasing,a simulation model of UHVT with parallel SVC for the frequency analysis of the impedance characteristics and a magnetic-field coupling model for UHVT based on classic Jiles-Atherton hysteresis theories are constructed based on the MATLAB/Simulink platform.Both the theoretical and simulation results prove that the resonance fault is caused by the resonance point on the low-voltage side of the transformer,which will approach the 4th harmonic point under magnetic biasing.Based on the fault analysis,a new resonance control method is proposed by adding reactance with by-pass switches in series with FC branches.Under dc magnetic biasing,the cutoff of the by-pass switch will increase the series reactance rate of the FC branches and change the resonance point.In order to avoid the 7th harmonic increasement caused by this method,the firing angle of the TCR branches is locked between 130°and 180°.The effect of the proposed method is validated by the simulation model of a 750 kV UHVT and the results show that the mechanism analysis of the resonance fault is correct and the resonance control method is valid.展开更多

The process will avoid expensive deperming techniques usually applied to ships to treat magnetic anomalies. The technique includes a new system to construct magnetic maps on flat ferromagnetic surfaces. Once the magnetic maps are obtained, a new system is proposed to evaluate and locate local magnetic perturbations. Once the local perturbations are located, they are compensated by local degaussing coils. The new technique has been applied to the detection of local magnetic perturbations in four naval platforms. Two of them presented important magnetic anomalies, and were successfully detected and corrected by applying the new technique, thus showing its practical value.展开更多

在弱交流系统下对于附带有STATCOM的电网换相换流器高压直流输电(Line Commutated Converter based High Voltage Direct Current, LCC-HVDC)系统,存在着LCC逆变站与STATCOM之间耦合导致LCC-HVDC系统的稳定裕度下降问题,这会减弱LCC-HVD...在弱交流系统下对于附带有STATCOM的电网换相换流器高压直流输电(Line Commutated Converter based High Voltage Direct Current, LCC-HVDC)系统,存在着LCC逆变站与STATCOM之间耦合导致LCC-HVDC系统的稳定裕度下降问题,这会减弱LCC-HVDC抑制换相失败的能力。此外,HVDC控制环节之中的电压指令电流控制(voltage dependent current order limiter, VDCOL)环节的输出电流指令大幅剧烈波动还有几率会导致HVDC系统在首次换相失败之后发生后续换相失败。针对上述问题提出了一种“改进参考电压”的思想,对STATCOM和VDCOL的参考电压与输入电压分别进行修正。首先在STATCOM原本的参考电压经过一个“虚拟电抗”之后得到一个新的参考电压,通过这个改进参考电压弱化了STATCOM电压外环控制模块与LCC逆变站的耦合,减小了交流系统等效阻抗的大小,提升了系统对干扰的抵抗能力。然后对VDCOL的输入电压进行改进,新的改进输入电压改善了故障后VDCOL输出电流指令的大幅剧烈波动情况。最后通过三个层次的对照试验,验证了所提方法的有效性。展开更多

文摘为提高静止无功补偿器(static var compensator,SVC)应对直流电弧炉等冲击性负载的闪变抑制性能,文中在改进Takagi-Sugeno(TS)模糊算法的基础上,提出一种SVC滚动预测控制方法。首先,建立直流电弧炉电气模型并仿真分析其无功特性;然后,针对经典TS模糊预测算法应用于波动负荷时出现的输出异常置0情况,提出一种范围自适应修正的改进方法,该方法能消除一类算法应用机理导致的异常值,从而提高TS模糊算法对波动负荷无功功率预测的可靠性和准确性;最后,基于模型训练时间约束,建立无功功率半周期滚动预测控制模型,提前10 ms预测无功功率,改善了SVC传统控制系统响应的滞后特性。仿真结果表明,相比于SVC传统控制方法,所提方法的平均闪变改善率提高了54.17%,验证了所提方法对闪变现象的抑制效果提升显著。
文摘在弱交流系统下对于附带有STATCOM的电网换相换流器高压直流输电(Line Commutated Converter based High Voltage Direct Current, LCC-HVDC)系统,存在着LCC逆变站与STATCOM之间耦合导致LCC-HVDC系统的稳定裕度下降问题,这会减弱LCC-HVDC抑制换相失败的能力。此外,HVDC控制环节之中的电压指令电流控制(voltage dependent current order limiter, VDCOL)环节的输出电流指令大幅剧烈波动还有几率会导致HVDC系统在首次换相失败之后发生后续换相失败。针对上述问题提出了一种“改进参考电压”的思想,对STATCOM和VDCOL的参考电压与输入电压分别进行修正。首先在STATCOM原本的参考电压经过一个“虚拟电抗”之后得到一个新的参考电压,通过这个改进参考电压弱化了STATCOM电压外环控制模块与LCC逆变站的耦合,减小了交流系统等效阻抗的大小,提升了系统对干扰的抵抗能力。然后对VDCOL的输入电压进行改进,新的改进输入电压改善了故障后VDCOL输出电流指令的大幅剧烈波动情况。最后通过三个层次的对照试验,验证了所提方法的有效性。
