Compliance to Medication Management and Mental Health Status of Elderly Hypertensive Patients: Basis of Educational Health Program

Objective:The study aimed to assess medication management compliance and mental health in elderly patients with hypertension.Method:The study evaluated medication compliance and mental health status of elderly hypertensive patients in China using simple random sampling.Data was collected using the Morisky Medication Compliance Questionnaire,Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale,and a checklist.Ethical practices were strictly observed.Results:A study of 100 elderly hypertensive patients found poor drug management compliance,with female patients showing worse compliance.Female patients were more vulnerable to anxiety and depression.The study also found no significant association between gender,age,education level,marital status,living standards,and medication compliance.Barriers to medication management included food and daily necessities,lack of awareness about the importance of drug treatment,and basic family needs.The lowest-ranked barriers were lack of support from government health clinics,low income,and lack of family support.Conclusion:Based on the results,the study proposes an educational plan for elderly hypertensive patients and their families,to be evaluated and implemented by the hospital and township community service center.The plan aims to improve medication management and lifestyle modification compliance,encourage active participation,and provide access to medical and mental health clinics,support groups,and counseling services. 展开更多

Chronic diseases are a growing concern worldwide,with nearly 25% of adults suffering from one or more chronic health conditions,thus placing a heavy burden on individuals,families,and healthcare systems.With the advent of the“Smart Healthcare”era,a series of cutting-edge technologies has brought new experiences to the management of chronic diseases.Among them,smart wearable technology not only helps people pursue a healthier lifestyle but also provides a continuous flow of healthcare data for disease diagnosis and treatment by actively recording physiological parameters and tracking the metabolic state.However,how to organize and analyze the data to achieve the ultimate goal of improving chronic disease management,in terms of quality of life,patient outcomes,and privacy protection,is an urgent issue that needs to be addressed.Artificial intelligence(AI)can provide intelligent suggestions by analyzing a patient’s physiological data from wearable devices for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.In addition,blockchain can improve healthcare services by authorizing decentralized data sharing,protecting the privacy of users,providing data empowerment,and ensuring the reliability of data management.Integrating AI,blockchain,and wearable technology could optimize the existing chronic disease management models,with a shift from a hospital-centered model to a patient-centered one.In this paper,we conceptually demonstrate a patient-centric technical framework based on AI,blockchain,and wearable technology and further explore the application of these integrated technologies in chronic disease management.Finally,the shortcomings of this new paradigm and future research directions are also discussed. 展开更多

In order to achieve the computerization and digitization of the daily system of stud-farm, the immunization system technology, racecourse health monitoring technologies and the stud-farm prevention technologies were combined to built the studfarm daily management system. By using Visual Studio 2008 and Microsoft Office Access 2003, an immunization information system was developed based on Client/Server structure and combined with the key immunization link of horses. The system included studfarm immune management and racecourse health monitoring system. The immune management contained immunization information input, the inquiry of immunization information, immunization statistics, immunization-reminding and system management. The racecourse health monitoring system included stud-farm monitoring, horses monitoring and inquiry and statistics of health monitoring. The software realized the analysis and tips of the daily information in stud-farm. The software could record the appropriate data and carry on the statistics. The stud-farm daily management system greatly improved the efficiency of the expanded program about immunization and horses' healthy rearing technique. 展开更多

The problem of congestion, namely due to the uncontrolled increase of traffic with respect to the network capacity, is one of the most common phenomena affecting the reliability of transmission of information in any network. The aim of the paper is to build a realistic simulation environment for healthcare system including some of the main vital signs model, wireless sensor and mesh network protocols implementation. The simulator environment is an efficient mean to analyze and evaluate in a realistic scenario the healthcare system performance in terms of reliability and efficiency. 展开更多

Monitoring emissions from a former Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) site during remediation was used to manage risks associated with inhalation of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and contaminated particulates acting as an exposure conduit for Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) and heavy metals. This risk management case study presents a USEPA-approved air monitoring program implemented to manage public health risks during remediation at a former MGP site located in the southeast United States. Risk-based Acceptable Air Concentrations (AACs) were developed and a sampling regimen established to monitor potential emissions to maintain contaminant concentrations below the AACs. The exposure duration used was based on a twelve-month project duration and an exposure time of 24 hours per day;equations, toxicity values and sources were based on USEPA’s Regional Screening Levels. A total 535 twenty-four hour time weighted samples (269 VOC samples and 266 PAH samples) were collected over the project duration. Only minor levels of VOCs and PAHs were detected and no results were above the AACs. These timeweighted averages demonstrate that the real-time air monitoring and control measures implemented at the site effectively maintained concentrations below the AACs and were protective of public health. 展开更多

Soil is a non-renewable resource,providing a majority of the world’s food and fiber while serving as a vital carbon reservoir.However,the health of soil faces global threats from human activities,particularly widespread contamination by industrial chemicals.Existing physical,chemical,and biological remediation approaches encounter challenges in preserving soil structure and function throughout the remediation process,as well as addressing the complexities of soil contamination on a regional scale.Viable solutions encompass monitoring and simulating soil processes,with a focus on utilizing big data to bridge micro-scale and macro-scale processes.Additionally,reducing pollutant emissions to soil is paramount due to the significant challenges associated with removing contaminants once they have entered the soil,coupled with the high economic costs of remediation.Further,it is imperative to implement advanced remediation technologies,such as monitored natural attenuation,and embrace holistic soil management approaches that involve regulatory frameworks,soil health indicators,and soil safety monitoring platforms.Safeguarding the enduring health and resilience of soils necessitates a blend of interdisciplinary research,technological innovation,and collaborative initiatives. 展开更多

Objectives:First-year college students had exposure to unhealthy lifestyle behaviors that correlate with a high prevalence of anxiety and depression.Regarding to the modifiable lifestyle behaviors factors,this study investigated the prevalence and correlation of multiple lifestyle behaviors,anxiety and depression in a sample of Chinese first-year college students.Methods:Cross-sectional data were extracted from Residents eHealth app of health lifestyle behaviors survey from September to October 2019.Anxiety,depression,eating regular meals,consumption of snacks in-between meals,consumption of fruit,dessert and sugar-sweetened beverages,smoking and secondhand smoke exposure,consuming alcohol,physical activity,sedentary time were assessed by self-report.Socio-demographic including age,gender,education,family income,religion,and health condition were captured.Logistic regression was used to explore the association of multiple lifestyle behaviors,anxiety and depression.Results:Totally 1,017 participants were included in the study.The prevalence of anxiety and depression(from mild to severe) were 40.3% and 45.3%,respectively.In multivariable analyses,religion (believe in Buddhism,OR =2.438,95%CI:1.097-5.421;believe in Christian,OR =5.886,95%CI:1.604-21.597),gender (Female,OR =1.405,95%CI:1.001-1.971),secondhand smoke exposure (OR =1.089,95%CI:1.001-1.184),and eating regular meals (OR =0.513,95%C1:0.346-0.759) were associated with anxiety.Family income (OR =0.732,95%CI:0.596-0.898),eating regular meals (OR =0.641,95%CI:0.415-0.990),frequency of breakfast (OR =0.813,95%CI:0.690-0.959),with a chronic disease (OR =1.902,95%CI:1.335-2.712),and consumption of nocturnal snack (OR =1.337,95%CI:1.108-1.612) were associated with depression.Conclusions:These results highlighted the need for early lifestyle behavior intervention,especially modifying diet patterns considering the background of religion,health condition,and social-economic status in first-year college students to improve their mental health. 展开更多

目的 :评价基于症状管理理论优化健康教育方案提高老年心力衰竭患者居家症状自我监测能力的效果,为此类患者居家护理提供参考。方法 :便利选取2023年4月—9月江苏省某三级甲等医院心内科收治的115例住院老年心力衰竭患者为研究对象,按... 目的 :评价基于症状管理理论优化健康教育方案提高老年心力衰竭患者居家症状自我监测能力的效果,为此类患者居家护理提供参考。方法 :便利选取2023年4月—9月江苏省某三级甲等医院心内科收治的115例住院老年心力衰竭患者为研究对象,按随机数字表法将患者分为观察组(n=58)和对照组(n=57),对照组进行常规健康教育,观察组在常规健康教育基础上实施基于症状管理理论的优化健康教育方案。比较两组患者出院前和出院3个月时心力衰竭躯体感知和自我症状监测的情况,并随访出院3个月时两组患者因发作急性心力衰竭再入院情况。结果 :出院前观察组患者掌握自我症状监测内容优于对照组(P<0.05);出院3个月时观察组患者心力衰竭躯体感知、自我症状监测和再入院率均明显优于对照组(P<0.05)。结论 :实施以症状管理理论为指导的优化健康教育方案有助于提高老年心力衰竭患者居家症状自我监测能力、降低急性心力衰竭再发生率。 展开更多

目的:评价数字化治疗依从性技术(digital treatment adherence technologies, DAT)的实施效果,以进一步提高新疆维吾尔自治区(以下简称“新疆”)昌吉州结核病患者治疗及服务管理质量。方法:采取回顾性研究方法,从中国疾病预防控制中心... 目的:评价数字化治疗依从性技术(digital treatment adherence technologies, DAT)的实施效果,以进一步提高新疆维吾尔自治区(以下简称“新疆”)昌吉州结核病患者治疗及服务管理质量。方法:采取回顾性研究方法,从中国疾病预防控制中心“结核病管理信息系统”和“易督导”网站中导出2021年1月1日至2023年3月31日登记现住址为“新疆维吾尔自治区昌吉州5县2市”且完成治疗疗程的活动性肺结核患者相关临床资料。根据患者管理方式,将2021年1月1日至12月31日登记为肺结核但未使用“易督导”管理系统的403例患者纳入传统方式管理组(传统组),将2022年1月1日至2023年3月31日登记为肺结核且使用“易督导”管理系统的313例患者纳入DAT管理组(DAT组),DAT使用率为89.68%(313/349),再根据使用电子工具的不同将DAT组分为电子药盒管理组[药盒组;81例(25.88%)]和微信公众号管理组[微信组;232例(74.12%)]。分析传统组和DAT组患者人口学特征、服药依从性及治疗效果,以及DAT组使用DAT的情况及不同地区的管理情况。结果:微信组在≥60岁年龄组[30.60%(71/232)]和农牧民[40.95%(95/232)]的占比均明显低于药盒组[77.78%(63/81)和76.54%(62/81)],差异均有统计学意义(χ2=54.780,P=0.000;χ2=32.666,P=0.000)。传统组总体服药率[97.78%(99 053/101 299)]和规则服药率[96.03%(387/403)]均优于DAT组[分别为93.23%(62 601/67 146)和85.62%(268/313)],药盒组总体服药率[95.89%(15 808/16 486)]优于微信组[92.37%(46 793/50 660)],差异均有统计学意义(χ2=2162.210、24.481、244.306,P值均=0.000),但微信组规则服药率[84.48%(196/232)]与药盒组[88.89%(72/81)]差异无统计学意义(χ2=0.947,P=0.331)。DAT组的治疗成功率[95.85%(300/313)]、第2/3个月末查痰率[99.36%(311/313)]和痰菌阴转率[98.76%(159/161)]与传统组[分别为94.29%(380/403)、98.26%(396/403)和97.83%(271/277)]的差异均无统计学意义(χ2=0.891,P=0.345;χ2=0.941,P=0.332;χ2=0.106,P=0.744),但微信组治疗成功率[98.28%(228/232)]高于药盒组[88.89%(72/81)],差异有统计学意义(χ2=11.036,P=0.001)。DAT组不同地区规则服药率介于61.22%(30/49)~97.30%(36/37),差异有统计学意义(χ2=39.320,P=0.000)。结论:新疆昌吉州各县(市)接受使用DAT管理的肺结核患者比例较高,且以接受微信公众号管理为主,可更准确地反映患者服药情况,管理效果也与传统管理方式一致。应针对不同县市、不同管理方式、不同年龄、不同职业人群制定不同的DAT管理措施,以提高规则服药率,并逐步在新疆地区推广应用。 展开更多
