The dynamic response and energy absorption characteristics of pultruded hybrid combinations of glass and graphite fibers in an epoxy matrix subjected to induced transverse tension at high strain-rate in a modified Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) apparatus, are presented. Transverse tensile strength was determined by diametral compression of disc samples (Brazilian indirect tensile test method). Diametral crack initiation and strain to failure were monitored with a Shimadzu HPV-2 high-speed video camera at a recording speed of 500,000 fps and Digital Image Correlation (DIC). Adequate measures were taken to ensure that initiation of specimen failure occurred at the exact center of the disc specimen, and propagated through the diameter along the compressive loading axis, for the induced transverse tension tests to be valid. A study of the strength and specific energy absorption demonstrates the benefits of hybridization. Under induced transverse tensile loading condition, the pure glass/epoxy (GL60) exhibited higher strength than pure graphite/epoxy (GR60). Pure graphite/epoxy (GR60) has higher specific energy absorption capacity than pure glass/epoxy (GL60) in transverse tension. Among all hybrids, GR30 has the highest specific energy absorption under transverse tension. Overall, hybrid GL48, with 48% low-cost glass fibers in the inner core and 12% high-cost graphite fibers in outer shell, was found to exhibit better performance under induced transverse tension at high strain-rates, showing the benefits of hybridization.展开更多

So, it is important to develop specific gene markers to allow rapid diagnosis by PCR. Markers were developed based on sequences homology comparison of susceptible and resistant plants provided by HORTEC SEEDS in tomato for Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) by the resistance gene Ty-1, in zucchini for Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) and Papaya ringspot virus estirpe watermelon (PRSV-W), and in lettuce for Lettuce mosaic virus (LMV). Fragments of 249 bp were amplified only by resistant plants to TYLCV as the hybrids 2648 and Aguamiel, and not for varieties as Santa Cruz or Carina. It were observed for ZYMV the amplification of 791 bp by the resistant hybrid Px7051 and not for the susceptible cultivar La Belle;for PRSV-W using the same zucchini plants the amplification of 650 bp for susceptible and 750 bp for resistant;for LMV the 421 bp amplification only for the resistant cultivar Brasil 303 and not for susceptible Babá de Verão. Finally, it was observed that primers PK47F/R were able to check the Cabotiá seed hybrids of pumpkin Jabras.展开更多

The tensile tests are inducted by the SHIMADZU AG-250 KNE universal material testing machine and Aramis V6 digital image correlation( DIC) technique.More specifically, the composite samples own four hybrid ratios(Na∶ Nc= 12∶ 0,8 ∶ 4,6 ∶ 6 and 4 ∶ 8). The results showed that the aramid/carbon hybrid MBWK fabric reinforced composites showed nearly linear response until reaching the maximum load and the inserting yarns distribution on the surface of MBWK fabrics reinforced composites had a great influence on the strain pattern distribution. Besides, the tensile strength, the tensile modulus and the elongation at breakage of 0° samples and 90° samples increased with the decreasing of aramid/carbon hybrid ratio. In a word, the changes of tensile strength, tensile modulus and elongation at breakage have a lot to do with the difference of aramid/carbon hybrid ratio.展开更多
