Time histories of particle velocity, local strain, and stress profiles are calculated to present the local stress-strain history curves, from which the dynamic stress-strain states are obtained. The present results reveal that the dynamic-rigid-plastic hardening (D-R-PH) material model introduced in a previous study of our group is in good agreement with the dynamic stress-strain states under high loading rates obtained by the Lagrangian analysis method. It directly reflects the effectiveness and feasibility of the D-R-PH material model for the cellular materials under high loading rates.展开更多

The evolution of the strain state and crystal quality of AIN with increase of thickness were investigated by transmission electron microscopy, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectra and atomic force microscopy (AFM). As the thickness increased, the stress in the epilayers decreased gradually, which was attributed to the reaction of dislocations at the first several microns in thickness. When the thickness was more than 20 μm, the stress was almost fully relaxed due to the formation of cracks. Wet etching experiments indicated that the dislocation density decreased with the increase of thickness. The AFM images showed that the density of dark spots on the surface obviously decreased and the atomic steps became straight as the thickness increased.展开更多

The volume fractions of RA before and after deformation were measured at different equivalent strains. The transformation behaviors of RA were also investigated. The stability of RA differed across two different transformation stages at the plane strain state: the stability was much lower in the first stage than in the second stage. For the uniaxial ten sion strain state, the stability of RA corresponded only to a single transformation stage. The main reason was that there were two types of transformations from RA in the medium Mn steel for the plane strain state. One type was that the martensite originated in the strain-induced stacking faults (SISF). The other type was the strain-induced directly twin martensite at a certain equivalent strain. However, for the uniax- ial tension state, only the strain-induced twin martensite was observed. Dislocation lines and dislocation tangles were also observed in specimens deformed at different strain states. In addition, complex micro- structures of stacking faults and lath-like phases were observed within a grain at the plane strain state.展开更多

The CoFeB/MgO interface, which is su- perior to the Fe/MgO and CoFe/MgO interfaces, can markedly maintain stable and effective coupling channels for majority- spin A1 state under large biaxial strain. Bonding interactions between Fe, Co, and B atoms and the electron transfer between Bloch states are responsible for the redistribution of the majority-spin A1 state, directly influencing the coupling effect for the strained interfaces. Layer-projected wave function of the majority-spin Al state suggests slower decay rate and more stable transport property in the CoFeB/MgO interface, which is expected to maintain a higher tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) value under large biaxial strain. This work reveals the internal mechanism for the state coupling al strained FM/MgO interfaces. This study may provide some references to the design and manufacturing of magnetic tunnel .junctions with high tunneling magnetoresistance effect.展开更多

Considering the biaxial strain due to lattice mismatch or epitaxial growth and the uniaxial strains effects, we investigated the Stark energy shift led by an external electric field for impurity states as functions of pressure as well as the impurity position, A1 component and areal electron density. The numerical result shows that the binding energy near linearly increases with pressure from 0 to 10 GPa. It is also found that the binding energy as a function of the electric field perpendicular to the interface shows an un-linear red shift or a blue shift for different impurity positions. The effect of increasing x on blue shift is more significant than that on the red shift for the impurity in the channel near the interface. The pressure influence on the Stark shift is more obvious with increase of electric field and the distance between an impurity and the interface. The increase of pressure decreases the blue shift but increases the red shift.展开更多

It is found that the excitation energies and absorption spectra of zigzag tubes(11,0) and(10,0) show opposite trends with the strain under the action of the magnetic field. For the(11,0) tube, the excitation energy decreases with the increasing uniaxial strain, with a splitting appearing in the absorption spectra. For the(10,0) tube, the variation trend firstly increases and then decreases, with a reversal point appearing in the absorption spectra. More interesting,at the reversal point the intensity of optical absorption is the largest because of the degeneracy of the two bands nearest to the Fermi Level, which is expected to be observed in the future experiment. The similar variation trend is also exhibited in the binding energy for the two kinds of semiconducting tubes.展开更多

The effects of the deformation temperature, strain rate and the microstructure were studied. Two strain rates(1s -1and 0.1s -1) and six deformation temperatures (600℃, 720℃ , 780℃, 900℃, 1000℃ and 1100℃) were chosen. The stress—strain curve exhibits a peak at low strain and then decreases to a plateau before it starts to increase again as the strain increases. The stress required for deformation at lower strain rate and at higher deformation temperatures is less than those at higher strain rate and at lower deformation temperatures. Four mechanisms of semi-solid deformation can be used to explain the different behaviors of the stress—strain curves under different conditions.展开更多

Special emphasis is put on the values of elastic deformations that could be generated and frozen in epitaxial layers with the aim of influencing their energy spectra and optical properties. The maximum deformation at layers tension made up 57% of the initial mismatch between the layer and the substrate (ε = Δa/a = 0.015). In such a solid-state structure effective “negative” pressure is realized, which is justified by increase in the tangential lattice constant and the forbidden gap width. This width correlates with the tangential lattice constant (deformation) and corresponds to certain values of definite frequencies of direct electron transitions across the forbidden gap.展开更多

文摘Spray-formed Al-70%Si(mass fraction) alloys were deformed by compression in the semi-solid state. Four mechanisms of semi-solid deformation can be used to explain the different behaviors of the stress—strain curves under different conditions.
文摘The work deals with the epitaxial PbSe layers grown on the KCl substrates by the method of “hot-wall” molecular epitaxy over the range of layer thicknesses of 20 - 2000 nm. This width correlates with the tangential lattice constant (deformation) and corresponds to certain values of definite frequencies of direct electron transitions across the forbidden gap.

文摘Although coal swelling/shrinking during coal seam gas extraction has been studied for decades, its impacts on the evolution of permeability are still not well understood. This has long been recognized, but no satisfactory solutions have been found. In previous studies,it is normally assumed that the matrix swelling/shrinking strain can be split between the fracture and the bulk coal and that the splitting coefficient remains unchanged during gas sorption. In this study,we defined the fracture strain as a function of permeability change ratio and back-calculated the fracture strains at different states. In the equilibrium state, the gas pressure is steady within the coal;in the non-equilibrium state, the gas pressure changes with time. For equilibrium states, the back-calculated fracture strains are extremely large and may be physically impossible in some case. For non-equilibrium states, two experiments were conducted:one for a natural coal sample and the other for a reconstructed one.For the fractured coal, the evolution of permeability is primarily controlled by the transition of coal fracture strain or permeability from local matrix swelling effect to global effect. For the reconstituted coal, the evolution of pore strain or permeability is primarily controlled by the global effect.
