Study of the Influence of the Chunking on Improving Speaking Ability Among Senior High Students

English speaking skill is one of the most important skills that senior high students need to obtain in learning English.However,there are still many problems existing in students’speaking practice.As a teaching and learning strategy,Chunking is now gradually used in English classroom and has received a positive feedback.Therefore,in this paper,the influence of Chunking on improving English speaking skill among senior high school students will be investigated and analyzed through the methods of questionnaire and the follow-up interview to answer four questions:(1)What effect does Chunking have on the oral fluency of high school students?(2)What effect does Chunking have on the oral accuracy of high school students?(3)What effect does Chunking have on the vocabulary?And(4)Does the English speaking performance relate to genders?After analyzing the results of questionnaire by the SPSS and summing up the interview record,we found that most of them agree the fact that the strategy of Chunking does benefit their oral fluency,oral accuracy,and vocabulary.Also,female students have higher scores than male students. 展开更多

Employment is the first priority for survival today.With the increasingly severe employment situation,the employment problem of college students has become inevitable.In recent years,with the expansion of university scale,the number of university graduates is increasing rapidly,with an imbalance in the number,structure,and social demand of talents;moreover,there are significant differences between college students'employment quality and social expectations.In order to cultivate the innovation and entrepreneurship ability of college students,this paper provides new ideas,analyzes the factors affecting the formation and development of college students'innovation and entrepreneurship ability,as well as proposes several strategies to enhance its scientificity,pertinence,and effectiveness,which are conducive to further strengthening innovation and entrepreneurship education as well as cultivating innovation and entrepreneurship talents in colleges and universities,thus providing strong support for talent training and teaching reform in colleges and universities in China.It also provides a solid foundation for China's social innovation and entrepreneurship,along with innovative and entrepreneurial services to meet the needs of society,so as to improve the success rate of entrepreneurship among college students,effectively promote entrepreneurship-driven employment,and solve the employment problems of college students,which are conducive to China's rapid transformation into an innovative country and a powerful country in terms of human resources. 展开更多

Research in language learning strategies has addressed the necessity of improving oral skills in second language acquisition.This study attempts to explore the strategies employed by 19 medical students at Qiannan Medical College for Nationalities to improve their oral skills.Semi-structured interview and open-ended questionnaire were used as the instruments for the data collection.The data was then analyzed qualitatively for the purpose of the study.The findings of the study showed that the strategies employed by the students mainly include the strategies to improve speaking skills and the strategies to improve listening skills.The strategies to improve speaking skills include two main categories:fluency-focused strategies and accuracy-focused strategies.The strategies to improve listening skills also include two main categories:direct strategies and indirect strategies. 展开更多

在语文课程领域中探索初中生社会情感能力,分析学生叙事作文是一种有效途径。运用系统功能语言学评价理论中的态度系统框架对270篇初中生叙事作文进行文本分析,涵盖情感反应、行为判断和事物鉴赏。研究表明,从整体特征看,学生的社会情... 在语文课程领域中探索初中生社会情感能力,分析学生叙事作文是一种有效途径。运用系统功能语言学评价理论中的态度系统框架对270篇初中生叙事作文进行文本分析,涵盖情感反应、行为判断和事物鉴赏。研究表明,从整体特征看,学生的社会情感能力主要集中在情感抒发和同理心,其次是自我意识和社会责任感,而文化认同感最少;从社会情感能力的差异特征看,女生在情感反应方面显著高于男生,高水平、中水平、低水平作文两两之间在情感反应和事物鉴赏方面均存在显著性差异,高水平与低水平、中水平与低水平作文在行为判断方面存在显著性差异。基于这些特征,建议推行多元化作文教学策略,增强学生批判性分析和多层次理解能力;采用包容性作文教学策略,提高学生理解他人和建立良好人际关系的能力;建立追踪性作文评价机制,促进学生社会情感能力的持续性发展。 展开更多
