The equivalent connectivity index, relying on the meso-scale structure of porous material and the property of liquid, denotes the connectivity of pores in Representative Element Area (REA). If the conductivity of the porous material is anisotropic, the equivalent connectivity index is a second order tensor. Based on the basic theories of continuous mechanics and tensor analysis, relationship between area porosity and volumetric porosity of porous materials is deduced. Then a generalized expression, describing the relation between effective stress coefficient tensor and equivalent connectivity tensor of pores, is proposed, and the expression can be applied to isotropic media and also to anisotropic materials. Furthermore, evolution of porosity and equivalent connectivity index of the pore are studied in the strain space, and the method to determine the corresponding functions in expressions above is proposed using genetic algorithm and genetic programming. Two applications show that the results obtained by the method in this paper perfectly agree with the test data. This paper provides an important theoretical support to the coupled hydro-mechanical research.展开更多

To simulate this process, the model of anisotropic transformation induced plasticity(TRIP) was built using the WLR-BM phenomenological theory. The equivalent expansion coefficient was introduced considering the thermal and plastic strains, which simplified the numerical simulation. Furthermore, the quenching residual stresses in carbon steel plates were calculated using the finite element method under ANSYS Workbench simulation environment. To evaluate the simulative results, distributions of residual stresses from the surface to the interior at the center of specimen were measured using the layer-by-layer hole-drilling method. In the present study, the in-situ stress distribution in the Linxing area of eastern Ordos Basin, China, was analyzed based on well tested parameters. The maximum horizontal principal stress (SHmax), minimum horizontal principal stress (Shmin), and vertical stress (Sv) were calculated, and they were linearly correlated with burial depth. In general, two types of in-situ stress fields were determined in the Linxing area: (i) the in-situ stress state followed the relation Sv 〉 Snmax 〉 Shmin in shallow layers with burial depths of less than about 940 m, indicating a normal faulting stress regime; (ii) the Snmax magnitude increased conspicuously and was greater than the Sv magnitude in deep layers with depths more than about 940 m, and the in-situ stress state followed the relation Snmax 〉 Sv 〉 Shmin, demonstrating a strike-slip faulting stress regime. The horizontal differential stress (Snmax-Shmtn) increased with burial depth, indicating that wellbore instability may be a potentially significant problem when drilling deep vertical wells. The lateral stress coefficient ranged from 0.73 to 1.08 with an average of 0.93 in the Linxing area. The coalbed methane (CBM) reservoir permeability was also analyzed. No obvious exponential relationship was found between coal permeability and effective in-situ stress magnitude. Coal permeability was relatively high under a larger effective in-situ stress magnitude. Multiple factors, including fracture development, contribute to the variation of CBM reservoir permeability in the Linxing area of eastern Ordos Basin.展开更多

Expressions for normal and shear stresses are obtained in closed form. The substantial effects of influence parameters, viz., depth (from the free surface), irregularity factor, maximum depth of irregularity, viscoelastic parameter, horizontal and vertical initial stresses, and frictional coefficient, on normal and shear stresses are investigated. Moreover, comparative study is carried out for three different cases of irregularity, viz., rectangular irregularity, parabolic irregulariW and no irregularity, which is manifested through graphs.展开更多

The results of the study show that the increase of the binder residue at the interface reduces the thermal shock stability of the diamond/Cu composite materials. In addition, under the thermal shock load between-196 and 85 °C, the residual stress of the diamond/Cu composite materials increases continuously with the increase of the cycle numbers, the increase of residual stress leads to a small amount of interface debonding, an increase of the interfacial thermal resistances, and a decrease of the constraints of low-expansion component on material deformation, thus the thermal conductivity decreases slightly and the thermal expansion coefficient increases slightly.展开更多

By utilizing the point force elementary solutions and taking density function of traction difference along curved rigid lines, a group of weakly singular integral equations with logarithmic kernels can be obtained. After the numerical solution of the integral equations, the discrete values of density functions of traction difference are obtainable. So the stress singularity coefficient at rigid line tips can be calculated, and two numerical examples are given.

文摘Understanding the distribution of in-situ stresses is extremely important in a wide range of fields such as oil and gas exploration and development, CO2 sequestration, borehole stability, and stress-related geohazards assessment. Multiple factors, including fracture development, contribute to the variation of CBM reservoir permeability in the Linxing area of eastern Ordos Basin.

文摘The present article deals with the stresses developed in an initially stressed irregular viscoelastic half-space clue to a load moving with a constant velocity at a rough free surface. Moreover, comparative study is carried out for three different cases of irregularity, viz., rectangular irregularity, parabolic irregulariW and no irregularity, which is manifested through graphs.

文摘In this paper, the two-flume method was used to study the change laws of the thermal conductivity and thermal expansion coefficient of diamond/Cu composite materials with 100, 300, and 500 cycle numbers, under the action of thermal shock load between-196 and 85 °C; the X-ray diffraction method(XRD) was used to study the change of the residual stress in the thermal shock process of the diamond/Cu composite materials; and the evolution of the fracture microstructure with different thermal shock cycle numbers was observed through scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The results of the study show that the increase of the binder residue at the interface reduces the thermal shock stability of the diamond/Cu composite materials. In addition, under the thermal shock load between-196 and 85 °C, the residual stress of the diamond/Cu composite materials increases continuously with the increase of the cycle numbers, the increase of residual stress leads to a small amount of interface debonding, an increase of the interfacial thermal resistances, and a decrease of the constraints of low-expansion component on material deformation, thus the thermal conductivity decreases slightly and the thermal expansion coefficient increases slightly.
