At the same time, the Mohr-Coulomb Criterion is used to analyze stress changes around the tunnel induced by excavation. It shows that the surrounding soil around shallow tunnels can be partitioned by loosened zones (unloading zones) and plastic zones among which the shear stresses in the soil are less than 10 kPa below the M-C yield line. Both types of zones are separated. With the increasing of the SRR, the areas of plastic zones and loosen zones gradually increase. The surrounding soil is equally divided into 24 regions in order to study the influence of different grouting regions on the ground settlement. The reinforcing effect of grouting can be modeled by enhancement of the soil strength around the tunnel. By the approach of the SRM, numerical analysis indicates that, in the upper area (top of the surrounding soil about 210°), the reinforcing effect gradually decreases as the reinforcing region moves from arch springing to the vault of the crown; when reinforcing regions lie in the upside of the surrounding soil, the influence on the ground settlement is generally greater than in the lower part; at the same time, with the increase of the SRR, the influential differences are more and more obvious.展开更多

The study of the change rule of the AE numbers, energy, ‘b' value and spectrum in the micro crack propagation process of the coal samples shows that as dynamic damage time went by, AE presented high-energy counts and the accumulated counts increased during the compression phase. The AE energy and cumulative counts increased during the elastic stage. The AE blank area increased gradually and the blank lines were more and more obvious in the molding stage. The AE counts and energy showed a trend of decrease in the residual damage phase.AE ‘b' values gradually became sparse, and the large scale cracks percentage compared with micro cracks decreased and the degree of damage decreased. The AE frequency spectrum peak went from the residual damage phase to the molding phase, and finally it was nearly stable, besides the bandwidth of the main frequency is gradually narrowed. Also, the frequency peak changed from single peak frequency to bi-peak frequency and to the single peak frequency. Uniaxial compressive strength is more sensitive than the elastic modulus to dynamic damage time.展开更多

Earthquake prediction propels the construction and development of modern seismology;however, current deterministic earthquake prediction is limited by numerous difficulties. Identifying the temporal and spatial statistical characteristics of earthquake occurrences and constructing earthquake risk statistical prediction models have become significant;particularly for evaluating earthquake risks and addressing seismic planning requirements such as the design of cities and lifeline projects based on the obtained insight. Since the 21 st century, the occurrence of a series of strong earthquakes represented by the Wenchuan M8 earthquake in 2008 in certain low-risk prediction areas has caused seismologists to reflect on traditional seismic hazard assessment globally. This article briefly reviews the development of statistical seismology, emphatically analyzes the research results and existing problems of statistical seismology in seismic hazard assessment, and discusses the direction of its development. The analysis shows that the seismic hazard assessment based on modern earthquake catalogues in most regions should be effective. Particularly, the application of seismic hazard assessment based on ETAS(epidemic type aftershock sequence)should be the easiest and most effective method for the compilation of seismic hazard maps in large urban agglomeration areas and low seismic hazard areas with thick sedimentary zones.展开更多

文摘Improving the accuracy of shape sensors based on multicore fibers(MCFs)is challenging but of great importance for real-time 3D shape detection, especially in visually inaccessible areas. In this work,a novel approach is proposed to improve MCF shape sensor accuracy using an ultraviolet transparent liquid mediated fiber Bragg grating(FBG)inscription technique and a twist-isolating packaging method.A newly developed UV index matching liquid(UV-IML)is used to generate uniform light field at all the MCF cores, enabling FBG inscription with high accuracy.Additionally,a new stress fully released(SFR)packaging method is implemented to isolate the sensor from any external twists. The MCF shape sensor shows a maximum relative error of only 3.33%and the lowest reported relative sensitivity error of 1.11%cm^(-1).Moreover,a real-time 3D shape sensing system with a response frequency larger than 30 Hz is constructed using the unique MCF shape sensor. The highly accurate real-time 3D shape sensing results indicate potential applications for in vivo shape estimation of endoscopies and soft robots.

文摘Earthquakes are one of the natural disasters that pose a major threat to human lives and property. Particularly, the application of seismic hazard assessment based on ETAS(epidemic type aftershock sequence)should be the easiest and most effective method for the compilation of seismic hazard maps in large urban agglomeration areas and low seismic hazard areas with thick sedimentary zones.
