Satelliteunmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) networks can support such robots by providing on-demand communication services. However, under traditional open-loop communication paradigm, the network resources are usually divided into user-wise mostly-independent links, via ignoring the task-level dependency of robot collaboration. Thus, it is imperative to develop a new communication paradigm, taking into account the highlevel content and values behind, to facilitate multirobot operation. Inspired by Wiener’s Cybernetics theory, this article explores a closed-loop communication paradigm for the robot-oriented satellite-UAV network. This paradigm turns to handle group-wise structured links, so as to allocate resources in a taskoriented manner. It could also exploit the mobility of robots to liberate the network from full coverage, enabling new orchestration between network serving and positive mobility control of robots. Moreover, the integration of sensing, communications, computing and control would enlarge the benefit of this new paradigm. We present a case study for joint mobile edge computing(MEC) offloading and mobility control of robots, and finally outline potential challenges and open issues.展开更多

By introducing the time variable, resource conversion rate and the geological variable, resource density, such model can describe not only different types of basins, but also any exploration samples at different phases of exploration, up to the parent population. It is a dynamic distribution model with profound geological significance and wide applicability. Its basic principle and the process of resource assessment are described in this paper. The petroleum accumulation system is an appropriate assessment unit for such method. The hydrocarbon resource structure of the Huanghua Depression in Bohai Bay Basin was predicted by using this model. The prediction results accord with the knowledge of exploration in the Huanghua Depression, and point out the remaining resources potential and structure of different petroleum accumulation systems, which are of great significance for guiding future exploration in the Huanghua Depression.展开更多

The proposed algorithm is characterized by the following four features:(1) the ancestors should be more representative than the descendants,(2) the semantic meaning along the ancestor-descendant paths needs to be coherent,(3) the children of one parent are collectively exhaustive and mutually exclusive in describing their parent, and(4) tags are roughly evenly distributed to their upper-level parents to avoid structural skew. Findings: The proposed algorithm has been compared with a well-established solution Heymann Tag Tree(HTT). The experimental results using a social tag dataset showed that the proposed algorithm with its default condition outperformed HTT in precision based on Open Directory Project(ODP) classification. It has been verified that h-degree can be applied as a better node generality metric compared with degree centrality.Research limitations: A thorough investigation into the evaluation methodology is needed, including user studies and a set of metrics for evaluating semantic coherence and navigation performance.Practical implications: The algorithm will benefit the use of digital resources by generating a flexible domain knowledge structure that is easy to navigate. It could be used to manage multiple resource collections even without social annotations since tags can be keywords created by authors or experts, as well as automatically extracted from text.Originality/value: Few previous studies paid attention to the issue of whether the tagging systems are easy to navigate for users. The contributions of this study are twofold:(1) an algorithm was developed to construct tag trees with consideration given to both semanticcoherence and structural balance and(2) the effectiveness of a node generality metric, h-degree, was investigated in a tag co-occurrence network.展开更多
