Generation of structured light beams with polarization variation along arbitrary spatial trajectories using tri-layer metasurfaces 被引量:2

Conventionally,the spatially structured light beams produced by metasurfaces primarily highlight the polarization modulation of the beams propagating along the optical axis or the beams'spatial transmission trajectory.In particular,along the optical axis,the polarization state is either constant or varies continuously in each output plane.Here,we develop innovative spatially structured light beams with continually changing polarization along any arbitrary spatial transmission trajectories.With tri-layer metallic metasurfaces,the geometric characteristics of each layer structure can be adjusted to modulate the phase and polarization state of the incident terahertz(THz)wave.The beam will converge to the predefined trajectory along several paths to generate a Bessel-like beam with longitudinal polarization changes.We demonstrate the versatility of the approach by designing two THz-band structured light beams with varying polarization states along the spatial helical transmission trajectory.Continuous linear polarization changes and linear polarization to right circular polarization(RCP)and back to linear polarization changes are realized respectively.The experimental results are basically consistent with the simulated results.Our proposal for arbitrary trajectory structured light beams with longitudinally varying polarization offers a practical method for continuously regulating the characteristics of spatial structured light beams with non-axial transmission.This technique has potential uses in optical encryption,particle manipulation,and biomedical imaging. 展开更多

Behavior of structure light is investigated by monitoring probe absorption using a microwave-driven Y-type atomic media configuration.The system under consideration is driven by one of the control vortex beams as well as an extra non-vortex control beam to ensure electromagnetically induced transparency.The significant aspect in the generation of structured light is the azimuthal phase-dependent modification for probe absorption.Further intensity distribution for absorption spectra is examined for simultaneously evaluating both the control vortex beams.We also go through the radial distribution of intensity for various orbital angular momentum values.Different modes of structural beams may be distinguished using the suggested approach.Our research gives us a way for rapidly transferring vortex wavefronts from control field to probe absorption profile.This could be useful in quantum information processing. 展开更多

油中溶解气体分析(dissolved gas analysis,DGA)对变压器故障的早期预警及诊断具有重要意义。为了提升变压器故障诊断的准确性及可靠性,提出一种基于树结构概率密度估计(tree-structured parzen estimator,TPE)算法优化轻量级梯度提升机... 油中溶解气体分析(dissolved gas analysis,DGA)对变压器故障的早期预警及诊断具有重要意义。为了提升变压器故障诊断的准确性及可靠性,提出一种基于树结构概率密度估计(tree-structured parzen estimator,TPE)算法优化轻量级梯度提升机(light gradient boosting machine,LightGBM)的变压器故障诊断方法。首先,建立包含油中气体比值、编码等16维DGA特征集合,采用最小绝对收缩和选择(least absolute shrinkage and selection opera-tor,LASSO)算法选择用于变压器故障诊断的有效特征量;其次,构建基于LightGBM的变压器故障诊断方法,并引入TPE算法对LightGBM诊断模型参数进行优化,形成最优故障诊断模型;最后,选用精确度、召回率和F1分数等评价指标对所提诊断模型性能进行评估。研究结果表明,TPE-LightGBM的平均准确率为90.23%,其诊断精度及鲁棒性均优于RF和XGBoost等算法。同时,与现场常用的三比值法进行对比,所提方法的准确性和可靠性均有显著提升。该方法可有效提升电力变压器的智能运维水平。 展开更多

Digital structured light (SL) profilometry is increasingly used in three-dimensional (3D) measurement technology. However, the nonlinearity of the off-the-shelf projectors and cameras seriously reduces the measurement accuracy. In this paper, first, we review the nonlinear effects of the projector-camera system in the phase-shifting structured light depth measurement method. We show that high order harmonic wave components lead to phase error in the phase-shifting method. Then a practical method based on frequency domain filtering is proposed for nonlinear error reduction. By using this method, the nonlinear calibration of the SL system is not required. Moreover, both the nonlinear effects of the projector and the camera can be effectively reduced. The simulations and experiments have verified our nonlinear correction method. 展开更多

Magnetically separable bismuth ferrite(BiFeO3)nanoparticles were fabricated by a citrate self‐combustion method and coated with titanium dioxide(TiO2)by hydrolysis of titanium butoxide(Ti(OBu)4)to form BiFeO3@TiO2core-shell nanocomposites with different mass ratios of TiO2to BiFeO3.The photocatalytic performance of the catalysts was comprehensively investigated via photocatalytic oxidation of methyl violet(MV)under both ultraviolet and visible‐light irradiation.The BiFeO3@TiO2samples exhibited better photocatalytic performance than either BiFeO3or TiO2alone,and a BiFeO3@TiO2sample with a mass ratio of1:1and TiO2shell thickness of50-100nm showed the highest photo‐oxidation activity of the catalysts.The enhanced photocatalytic activity was ascribed to the formation of a p‐n junction of BiFeO3and TiO2with high charge separation efficiency as well as strong light absorption ability.Photoelectrochemical Mott-Schottky(MS)measurements revealed that both the charge carrier transportation and donor density of BiFeO3were markedly enhanced after introduction of TiO2.The mechanism of MV degradation is mainly attributed to hydroxyl radicals and photogenerated electrons based on energy band theory and the formation of an internal electrostatic field.In addition,the unique core-shell structure of BiFeO3@TiO2also promotes charge transfer at the BiFeO3/TiO2interface by increasing the contact area between BiFeO3and TiO2.Finally,the photocatalytic activity of BiFeO3@TiO2was further confirmed by degradation of other industrial dyes under visible‐light irradiation. 展开更多

In order to realize the closed-loop control for rapid prototyping process based on gas metal arc welding, the geometric parameters of weld beads should be detected. In this study, a vision sensor system consisting of a linear laser projector and a CCD camera was designed to collect images of weld beads. Then, an image processing approach which combines with a Gaassian filter and an improved gravity method was used to extract the centerline of a light stripe based on VC ++. Feature points of the centerline were identical directly by means of an image fusion algorithm. Experimental results show that image fusion is an effective approach to measure the width and height of the weld bead with high accuracy. This method can identify beads effectively in multi-pass welding and avoid designing different modes to suit all kinds of shapes. 展开更多

A light?weight design method of integrated structural topology and size co?optimization for the force?performance?structure of complex structural parts is presented in this paper. Firstly, the supporting function of a complex structural part is built to map the force transmission, where the force exerted areas and constraints are considered as connecting structure and the structural configuration, to determine the part performance as well as the force routines. Then the connecting structure design model, aiming to optimize the static and dynamic performances on connection configuration, is developed, and the optimum design of the characteristic parameters is carried out by means of the collaborative optimization method, namely, the integrated structural topology optimization and size optimization. In this design model, the objective is to maximize the connecting stiffness. Based on the relationship between the force and the structural configuration of a part, the optimal force transmission routine that can meet the performance requirements is obtained using the structural topology optimization technology. Accordingly, the light?weight design of conceptual configuration for complex parts under multi?objective and multi?condition can be realized. Finally, based on the proposed collaborative optimization design method, the optimal performance and optimal structure of the complex parts with light weight are realized, and the reasonable structural unit configuration and size charac?teristic parameters are obtained. A bed structure of gantry?type machining center is designed by using the proposed light?weight structure design method in this paper, as an illustrative example. The bed after the design optimization is lighter 8% than original one, and the rail deformation is reduced by 5%. Moreover, the lightweight design of the bed is achieved with enhanced performance to show the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

Aiming at the problem that the existence of disturbances on the edges of light-stripe makes the segmentation of the light-stripes images difficult, a new segmentation algorithm based on edge-searching is presented. It firstly calculates every edge pixel's horizontal coordinate grads to produce the corresponding grads-edge, then uses a designed length-variable l D template to scan the light-stripes' grads-edges. The template is able to find the disturbances with different width utilizing the distributing character of the edge disturbances. The found disturbances are eliminated finally. The algorithm not only can smoothly segment the light-stripes images, but also eliminate most disturbances on the light-stripes' edges without damaging the light-stripes images' 3D information. A practical example of using the proposed algorithm is given in the end. It is proved that the efficiency of the algorithm has been improved obviously by comparison. 展开更多

Three-dimensional(3D)reconstruction using structured light projection has the characteristics of non-contact,high precision,easy operation,and strong real-time performance.However,for actual measurement,projection modulated images are disturbed by electronic noise or other interference,which reduces the precision of the measurement system.To solve this problem,a 3D measurement algorithm of structured light based on deep learning is proposed.The end-to-end multi-convolution neural network model is designed to separately extract the coarse-and fine-layer features of a 3D image.The point-cloud model is obtained by nonlinear regression.The weighting coefficient loss function is introduced to the multi-convolution neural network,and the point-cloud data are continuously optimized to obtain the 3D reconstruction model.To verify the effectiveness of the method,image datasets of different 3D gypsum models were collected,trained,and tested using the above method.Experimental results show that the algorithm effectively eliminates external light environmental interference,avoids the influence of object shape,and achieves higher stability and precision.The proposed method is proved to be effective for regular objects. 展开更多

For the rapid calibration of multi-line structured light system,a method based on Plücker line was proposed.Most of the conventional line-structured light calibration methods extract the feature points and transform the coordinates of points to obtain the plane equation.However,a large number of points lead to complicated operation which is not suitable for the application scenarios of multi-line structured light.To solve this issue,a new calibration method was proposed that applied the form of Plücker matrix throughout the whole calibration process,instead of using the point characteristics directly.The advantage of this method is that the light plane equation can be obtained quickly and accurately in the camera coordinate frame.Correspondingly a planar target particularly for calibrating multi-line structured light was also designed.The regular lines were transformed into Plücker lines by extending the two-dimensional image plane and defining a new image space.To transform the coordinate frame of Plücker lines,the perspective projection mathematical model was re-expressed based on the Plücker matrix.According to the properties of the line and plane in the Plücker space,a linear matrix equation was efficiently constructed by combining the Plücker matrices of several coplanar lines so that the line-structured light plane equation could be furtherly solved.The experiments performed validate the proposed method and demonstrate the significant improvement in the calibration accuracy,when the test distance is 1.8 m,the root mean square(RMS)error of the three-dimensional point is within 0.08 mm. 展开更多

Boiling structures on evaporation surface of red copper sheet with a diameter (D) of 10 mm and a wall thickness (h) of 1 mm were processed by the ploughing-extrusion (P-E) processing method, which is one part of the phase-change heat sink for high power (HP) light emitting diode (LED). The experimental results show that two different structures of rectangular- and triangular-shaped micro-grooves are formed in P-E process. When P-E depth (ap), interval of helical grooves (dp) and rotation speed (n) are 0.12 ram, 0.2 mm and 100 r/min, respectively, the boiling structures of triangular-shaped grooves with the fin height of 0.15 mm that has good evaporation performance are obtained. The shapes of the boiling structures are restricted by dp and ap, and dp is determined by n and amount of feed (f). The ploughing speed has an important influence on the formation of groove structure in P-E process. 展开更多

Control of slow light in a ring-out-ring structure

This paper proposes a ring-out-ring structure of coupled optical resonators to yield coupled-resonator-induced transparency (CRIT). Considering the insertion loss of the coupler, it theoretically deduces the transmission and the effective phase shift. The influences of the insertion loss of the coupler on the transmittance, the effective phase shift, the group index and the CRIT linewidth are fully studied. We find that the increase in multiple m can effectively enhance the normal dispersion and the group index of the proposed structure. Moreover, the specific expression of the group index at resonance is theoretically deduced and discussed for the proposed structure with two rings. The result shows that the multiple m between the lengths of ring 1 and ring 2 can enhance the group index to m times that of the structure with two equal-sized rings at resonance. The control of slow light in the proposed structure is important for applications of highly sensitivity gyroscopes, optical delay lines and optical buffers, etc. 展开更多

We have synthesized Ca2Si5N8:Eu^2+ phosphor through a solid-state reaction and investigated its structural and luminescent properties. Our Rietveld refinement of the crystal structure of Ca1.9Eu0.1Si5N8 reveals that... We have synthesized Ca2Si5N8:Eu^2+ phosphor through a solid-state reaction and investigated its structural and luminescent properties. Our Rietveld refinement of the crystal structure of Ca1.9Eu0.1Si5N8 reveals that Eu atoms substituting for Ca atoms occupy two crystallographic positions. Between 10 K and 300 K, Ca2Si5N8:Eu^2+ phosphor shows a broad red emission band centred at -1.97 eV-2.01 eV. The gravity centre of the excitation band is located at 3.0 eV 3.31 eV. The centroid shift of the 5d levels of Eu^2+ is determined to be -1.17 eV, and the red-shift of the lowest absorption band to be - 0.54 eV due to the crystal field splitting. We have analysed the temperature dependence of PL by using a configuration coordinate model. The Huang-Rhys parameter S = 6.0, the phonon energy hv = 52 meV, and the Stokes shift △S = 0.57 eV are obtained. The emission intensity maximum occurring at -200 K can be explained by a trapping effect. Both photoluminescence (PL) emission intensity and decay time decrease with temperature increasing beyond 200 K due to the non-radiative process. 展开更多

Since unmanned ground vehicles often encounter concave and convex obstacles in wild ground, a filtering algorithm using line structured light to detect these long distance obstacles is proposed. For the line structured light image, a ranked-order based adaptively extremum median (RAEM) filter algorithm on salt and pepper noise is presented. In the algorithm, firstly effective points and noise points in a filtering window are differentiated; then the gray values of noise points are replaced by the medium of gray values of the effective pixels, with the efficient points' gray values unchanged; in the end this algorithm is proved to be efficient by experiments. Experimental resuits demonstrate that the image blur, resulting into proposed algorithm can remove noise points effectively and minimize the protecting the edge information as much as possible. 展开更多

In the past, blast-resistant designs for structures were often constructed with massive type structural systems, which relied more on brute strength than on finesse to achieve the required blast resistance. However, structures composed of COLD-FORMED steel components, such as sheet metal and metal studs, have shown great promise in providing blast resistance with the added benefits of low cost and ease of construction. Some examples of using such structures to provide containment for package handling facilities (PHF) are described in the paper for situations where blast containment is needed, such as a potential package bomb being discovered during the package vetting process. Results from tests and analytic data are used to illustrate aspects of design peculiar to such types of applications. Designs for specific capacities of PHF are described. 展开更多

A series of uniform single-phase spherical BaWO 4:Dy^(3+),Tm^(3+),Eu^(3+)phosphors were prepared via a microwave hydrothermal method by using trisodium citrate dehydrate as surfactant.The phase structure,morphology and photoluminescence properties were measured by powder X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscope and fluorescence spectrometer,respectively.The results show that uniform spherical microcrystals with diameters in the range of 2–4μm are obtained.And the phase and morphology of samples are not significantly changed by doping rare earth(RE^(3+))ions.Under the excitation wavelength of 356 and 365 nm,the samples BaWO 4:0.03Dy^(3+),yTm^(3+)can emit cold white light.In order to lower the correlated color temperature(CCT)to get a warm white light,the Eu^(3+)ions were doped into BaWO 4:0.03Dy^(3+),0.01Tm^(3+).Especially,under the excitation of 365 nm,BaWO 4:0.03Dy^(3+),0.01Tm^(3+),0.03Eu^(3+)phosphor shew a bright warm white light with color coordi-nate of(0.4013,0.3629)and CCT of 3288 K.Moreover,in the BaWO 4:Dy^(3+),Tm^(3+),Eu^(3+)phosphors,the energy transfer mechanism among Dy^(3+),Tm^(3+)and Eu^(3+)ions have been discussed and the change of electron structures have been calculated by first-principles calculations.The results shew that the uniform single-phase spherical BaWO 4:Dy^(3+),Tm^(3+),Eu^(3+)phosphors could be favorable candidates in warm white LEDs. 展开更多

Efficiency droop suppression in GaN-based light-emitting diodes by chirped multiple quantum well structure at high current injection 被引量:1

Gallium nitride (GaN) based light-emitting diodes (LEDs) with chirped multiple quantum well (MQW) structures have been investigated experimentally and numerically in this paper. Compared to conventional LEDs with uniform quantum wells (QWs), LEDs with chirped MQW structures have better internal quantum efficiency (IQE) and carrier injection efficiency. The droop ratios of LEDs with chirped MQW structures show a remarkable improvement at 600 mA/mm2, reduced down from 28.6% (conventional uniform LEDs) to 23.7% (chirped MQWs-a) and 18.6% (chirped MQWs-b), respectively. Meanwhile, the peak IQE increases from 76.9% (uniform LEDs) to 83.7% (chirped MQWs-a) and 88.6% (chirped MQWs-b). The reservoir effect of chirped MQW structures is the significant reason as it could increase hole injection efficiency and radiative recombination. The leakage current and Auger recombination of chirped MQW structures can also be suppressed. Furthermore, the chirped MQWs-b structure with lower potential barriers can enhance the reservoir effect and obtain further improvement of the carrier injection efficiency and radiative recombination, as well as further suppressing efficiency droop. 展开更多
