Lightweight thin-walled structures with lattice infill are widely desired in satellite for their high stiffness-to-weight ratio and superior buckling strength resulting fromthe sandwich effect.Such structures can be fabricated bymetallic additive manufacturing technique,such as selective laser melting(SLM).However,the maximum dimensions of actual structures are usually in a sub-meter scale,which results in restrictions on their appliance in aerospace and other fields.In this work,a meter-scale thin-walled structure with lattice infill is designed for the fuel tank supporting component of the satellite by integrating a self-supporting lattice into the thickness optimization of the thin-wall.The designed structure is fabricated by SLM of AlSi10Mg and cold metal transfer welding technique.Quasi-static mechanical tests and vibration tests are both conducted to verify the mechanical strength of the designed large-scale lattice thin-walled structure.The experimental results indicate that themeter-scale thin-walled structure with lattice infill could meet the dimension and lightweight requirements of most spacecrafts. 展开更多

Electrocatalytic reduction of CO_(2)(CO_(2)RR)to multicarbon products is an efficient approach for ad-dressing the energy crisis and achieving carbon neutrality.In H-cells,achieving high-current C_(2)products is challenging because of the inefficient mass transfer of the catalyst and the presence of the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).In this study,dendritic Cu/Cu_(2)O with abundant Cu^(0)/Cu^(+)interfaces and numerous dendritic curves was synthesized in a CO_(2)atmosphere,resulting in the high selectivity and current density of the C_(2)products.Dendritic Cu/Cu_(2)O achieved a C_(2)Faradaic efficiency of 69.8%and a C_(2)partial current density of 129.5 mA cm^(-2)in an H-cell.Finite element simulations showed that a dendritic structure with a high curvature generates a strong electric field,leading to a localized CO_(2)concentration.Additionally,DRT analysis showed that a dendritic struc-ture with a high curvature actively adsorbed the surrounding high concentration of CO_(2),enhancing the mass transfer rate and achieving a high current density.During the experiment,the impact of the electronic structure on the performance of the catalyst was investigated by varying the atomic ratio of Cu^(0)/Cu^(+) on the catalyst surface,which resulted in improved ethylene selectivity.Under the optimal atomic ratio of Cu^(0)/Cu^(+),the charge transfer resistance was minimized,and the desorption rate of the intermediates was low,favoring C_(2) generation.Density functional theory calculations indicated that the Cu^(0)/Cu^(+) interfaces exhibited a lower Gibbs free energy for the rate-determining step,enhancing C_(2)H_(4) formation.The Cu/Cu_(2)O catalyst also exhibited a low Cu d-band center,which enhanced the adsorption stability of *CO on the surface and facilitated C_(2)formation.This observa-tion explained the higher yield of C_(2) products at the Cu^(0)/Cu^(+) interface than that of H_(2) under rapid mass transfer.The results of the net present value model showed that the H-cell holds promising industrial prospects,contingent upon it being a catalyst with both high selectivity and high current density.This approach of integrating the structure and composition provides new insights for ad-vancing the CO_(2)RR towards high-current C_(2) products. 展开更多

The possibility of determining the integrity of a real structure subjected to non-invasive and non-destructive monitoring,such as that carried out by a series of accelerometers placed on the structure,is certainly a goal of extreme and current interest.In the present work,the results obtained from the processing of experimental data of a real structure are shown.The analyzed structure is a lattice structure approximately 9 m high,monitored with 18 uniaxial accelerometers positioned in pairs on 9 different levels.The data used refer to continuous monitoring that lasted for a total of 1 year,during which minor damage was caused to the structure by alternatively removing some bracings and repositioning them in the structure.Two methodologies detecting damage based on decomposition techniques of the acquired data were used and tested,as well as a methodology combining the two techniques.The results obtained are extremely interesting,as all the minor damage caused to the structure was identified by the processing methods used,based solely on the monitored data and without any knowledge of the real structure being analyzed.The results use 15 acquisitions in environmental conditions lasting 10 min each,a reasonable amount of time to get immediate feedback on possible damage to the structure. 展开更多

According to the failure characteristics of aircraft structure, a delay-time model is an effective method to optimize maintenance for aircraft structure. To imitate the practical situation as much as possible, imperfect inspections, thresholds and repeated intervals are concerned in delay-time models. Since the suggestion by the existing delay-time models that the inspections are implemented in an infinite time span lacks practical value, a de- lay-time model with imperfect inspection within a finite time span is proposed. In the model, the nonhomogenous Poisson process is adopted to obtain the renewal probabilities between two different successive inspections on de- fects or failures. An algorithm is applied based on the Nelder-Mead downhill simplex method to solve the model. Finally, a numerical example proves the validity and effectiveness of the model. 展开更多

Active vibration control is an effective way of increasing robustness of the design to meet the stringent accuracy requirements for space structures. This paper presents the results of active damping realized by a piezoelectric active member to control the vibration of a four-bay four-longern aluminum truss structure with cantilever boundary. The active member, which utilizes a piezoelectric actuating unit and an integrated load cell, is designed for vibration control of the space truss structures. Active damping control is realized using direct velocity feedback around the active member. The placement of the active member as one of the most important factor of affecting the control system performance, is also investigated by modal dissipation energy ratio as indicator. The active damping effectiveness is evaluated by comparing the closed-loop response with the open loop response. 展开更多

A tunable absorber, composed of a graphene ribbon on two layers of TiO2-Au between two slabs of dielectric material all on a metal substrate, is designed and numerically investigated. The absorption of the composite structure varies with the geometrical parameters of the structure and the physical parameters of graphene at mid-infrared frequencies. The numerical simulation shows that a near-perfect absorption with single and alum bands can be achieved in a certain frequency range. We also analyze the electric and surface current distributions to study the dual-band absorber. The results show that the absorber can be tuned by the chemical potential and electron phonon relaxation time of graphene, and electromagnetically induced transparency phenomenon can be obtained. The results of this study may be beneficial in the fields of infrared communication, perfect absorbers, sensors and filters. 展开更多

A new topology optimization method is formulated for lightweight design of multimaterial structures, using the independent continuous mapping (ICM) method to minimize the weight with a prescribed nodal displacement constraint. Two types of independent topological variable are used to identify the presence of elements and select the material for each phase, to realize the interpolations of the element stiffness matrix and total weight. Furthermore, an explicit expression for the optimized formulation is derived, using approximations of the displacement and weight given by first- and second-order Taylor expansions. The optimization problem is thereby transformed into a standard quadratic programming problem that can be solved using a sequential quadratic programming approach. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed multimaterial topology optimization method are demonstrated by determining the best load transfer path for four numerical examples. The results reveal that the topologically optimized configuration of the multimaterial structure varies with the material properties, load conditions, and constraint. Firstly, the weight of the optimized multimaterial structure is found to be lower than that composed of a single material. Secondly, under the precondition of a displacement constraint, the weight of the topologically optimized multimaterial structure decreases as the displacement constraint value is increased. Finally, the topologically optimized multimaterial structures differ depending on the elastic modulus of the materials. Besides, the established optimization formulation is more reliable and suitable for use in practical engineering applications with structural performance parameters as constraint. 展开更多

The evolution of nanoporous structure with dealloying condition was investigated, thus, the mechanism of porous structure evolution was uncovered. The Gasar Cu-Mn alloy was dealloyed by room and elevated temperature chemical corrosion, low and high current level electrochemical corrosion, four types of porous structures, including uneven corrosion pits, hybrid porous, haystack type and bicontinuous model were prepared by chemically and electrochemically dealloying the porous Cu-34.6%Mn alloy made by the Gasar process. Then, the surface diffusion coefficient(DS) and the diffusion frequency(kD) of Cu atom, as well as the dissolution frequency(kE) of Mn atom were calculated with dealloying condition. The dealloyed morphologies for room temperature chemical corrosion and low current level electrochemical corrosion were similar due to the same DS. While the dealloyed structures changed from bulk hybrid porous structure to bicontinuous porous film with decreasing kD/kE. 展开更多

In order to minimize the self-heating effect of the classic SOI devices,SOI structures with Si3 N4 film as a buried insulator (SOSN) are successfully formed using epitaxial layer transfer technology for the first time. The new SOI structures are investigated with high-resolution cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy and spreading resistance profile. Experiment results show that the buried Si3 N4 layer is amorphous and the new SOI material has good structural and electrical properties. The output current characteristics and temperature distribution are simulated and compared to those of standard SOI MOSFETs. Furthermore, the channel temperature and negative differential resistance are reduced during high-temperature operation, suggesting that SOSN can effectively mitigate the selfheating penalty. The new SOI device has been verified in two-dimensional device simulation and indicated that the new structures can reduce device self-heating and increase drain current of the SOI MOSFET. 展开更多

In this paper, adaptive genetic algorithm (AGA) is applied to topology optimization of truss structure with frequency domain excitations. The optimization constraints include fundamental frequency, displacement responses under force excitations and acceleration responses under foundation acceleration excitations. The roulette wheel selection operator, adaptive crossover and mutation operators are used as genetic operators. Some heuristic strategies are put forward to direct the deletion of the extra bars and nodes on truss structures. Three examples demonstrate that the proposed method can yield the optimum structure form and the lightest weight of the given ground structure while satisfying dynamic response constraints. 展开更多

Single mode-multimode-single mode (SMS) sensor is widely used for parameters measurement, such as bending, dis-placement, temperature, strain, refractive index, etc. Generally, SMS sensor has advantages of simple structure, low cost and easy layout, therefore it has become a research hotspot in recent years. In this paper, the multimode fiber with large core is used for manufacturing SMS structure with high sensitivity. Firstly, the multimode fiber with core/cladding diameters of 105/ 125 jitm has access to the system by means of single mode optical fiber. Secondly, SMS device structure is manufactured by welding the eccentric shaft of multimode optical fiber. Afterwards, mode interference effect and spectral response characteristics of the structure of single mode-multimode-single mode optical fiber are analyzed theoretically. Finally, with the help of a wide spectrum light source and a spectrum analyzer, the transmission spectra characteristics of SMS optical fiber with strain is tested. By observing the curve that the wave changes with stress, the sensitivity is calculated and it is consistent with theoretical value . 展开更多

This pa- per proposes an immune algorithm based method (BN-IA) for the learning of the BN structure with the idea of vaccination. Further- more, the methods on how to extract the effective vaccines from local optimal structure and root nodes are also described in details. Finally, the simulation studies are implemented with the helicopter convertor BN model and the car start BN model. Distributed acoustic sensing(DAS) is one recently developed seismic acquisition technique that is based on fiber-optic sensing. DAS provides dense spatial spacing that is useful to image shallow structure with surface waves.To test the feasibility of DAS in shallow structure imaging,the PoroTomo team conducted a DAS experiment with the vibroseis truck T-Rex in Brady’s Hot Springs, Nevada, USA.The Rayleigh waves excited by the vertical mode of the vibroseis truck were analyzed with the Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves(MASW) method. Phase velocities between5 and 20 Hz were successfully extracted for one segment of cable and were employed to build a shear-wave velocity model for the top 50 meters. The dispersion curves obtained with DAS agree well with the ones extracted from co-located geophones data and from the passive source Noise Correlation Functions(NCF). Comparing to the co-located geophone array, the higher sensor density that DAS arrays provides help reducing aliasing in dispersion analysis, and separating different surface wave modes. This study demonstrates the feasibility and advantage of DAS in imaging shallow structure with surface waves. 展开更多

Rational regulation on pore structure and active site density plays critical roles in enhancing the performance of Fe-N-C catalysts. As the microporous structure of the carbon substrate is generally regarded as the active site hosts, its hostility to electron/mass transfer could lead to the incomplete fulfillment of the catalytic activity. Besides, the formation of inactive metallic Fe particles during the conventional catalyst synthesis could also decrease the active site density and complicate the identification of real active site. Herein, we developed a facial hydrogen etching methodology to yield single site Fe-N-C catalysts featured with micro/mesoporous hierarchical structure. The hydrogen concentration in pyrolysis process was designated to effectively regulate the pore structure and active site density of the resulted catalysts.The optimized sample achieves excellent ORR catalytic performance with an ultralow H2O2 yield(1%)and superb stability over 10,000 cycles. Our finding provides new thoughts for the rational design of hierarchically porous carbon-based materials and highly promising non-precious metal ORR catalysts. 展开更多

A two-step finite element method was presented. It was applied to analyze an extra long span composite bridge. The conversion of structure system and the mechanical behavior of the bridge were analyzed with two different construction methods. The stresses of steel beams, precast slabs and in-situ-place concrete under the total load were compared. The results show that steel-concrete composite structure with overlap slab has many advantages, the construction method that the top in-situ concrete and the concrete in construction joints are cast respectively is rather reasonable than the one that the top in-situ concrete and the concrete in construction joints are cast at the same time, and the two-step finite element method is affective to such large-scale structures. 展开更多

In order to improve efficiency it is proposed to construct a model management framework to perform the multi-objective optimization design of wing structure. The sufficient accurate approximation models of objective and constraint functions in the wing structure optimization model are built when using the model management framework, therefore in the evolutionary algorithm a number of finite element analyses can he avoided and the satisfactory multi-objective optimization results of the wing structure of the high altitude long endurance UAV are obtained. 展开更多

Developing a facile approach based on transition metal-based Prussian blue(PB)and its analogues(PBAs)with core-shell nanostructure is a very promising choice for constructing cost-effective electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction(OER).Herein,a bimetallic core-shell structure with open cages of Fe-doped CoP(Fe-CoP cage)has been synthesized using CoFe-PBA cage-4 as precursor through a facile hydrothermal method and following phosphating process.Interestingly,there is an open hole in each face center of Fe-CoP cage,which suggests the more exposure of active sites for OER.Electrochemical measurements show that Fe-CoP cage can afford a current density of 10 mA cm-2 at a low overpotential(300 mV),which is better than that of RuO2.The excellent performance can be attributed to Fe doping composition and unique open-cage core-shell structure.The synergistic effect derived from bimetallic active for OER has been discussed.And its great catalytic stability has been evaluated via 1000 cycles of CV and chronoamperometry measurement.This work provides a potential method to design multiple transitional metal-doping electrocatalysts with complex framework derived from PBAs for water splitting. 展开更多

A kind of photoelectric system that is suitable to measuring and to testing the damage of the composite material intelligent structure was presented. It can measure the degree of damage of the composite intelligent structure and it also can tell us the damage position in the structure. This system consists of two parts : software and hardware. Experiments of the damage detection and the analysis of the composite material structure with the photoelectric system were performed, and a series of damage detection experiments was conducted. The results prove that the performance of the system is well and the effects of the measure and test are evident. Through all the experiments, the damage detection technology and test system are approved to be real-time, effective and reliable in the damage detection of the composite intelligent structure. 展开更多

Fine grained ZN20 alloy was obtained by combining equal-channel angular pressing(ECAP)with extrusion.Microstructural observation showed an obvious grain refinement with an average grain size of 10μm after ECAP.The original bimodal-grained structure composed of coarse grains with strong basal texture and fine grains with random texture was substituted by a new kind of bimodal-grained structure with finer grains and more random texture after 4 passes ECAP at 300℃.The combination of grain refinement and texture weakening caused the ductility can be increased by 40%compared with the as-extruded alloy.Immersion test in simulated intestinal fluid revealed an improvement of corrosion resistance after ECAP.Grain refinement can stable the corrosion product layer and basal texture is more beneficial for the corrosion resistance than the non-basal texture. 展开更多
