The purpose of this study was to assess the susceptibility of landslides around the area of Guizhou province based on fuzzy theory.In first instance, slope, elevation, lithology, proximity to tectonic lines, proximity...The purpose of this study was to assess the susceptibility of landslides around the area of Guizhou province based on fuzzy theory.In first instance, slope, elevation, lithology, proximity to tectonic lines, proximity to drainage and annual precipitation were taken as independent, causal factors in this study.A landslide hazard evaluation factor system was established by classifying these factors into more subclasses according to some rules.Secondly, a trapezoidal fuzzy number weighting(TFNW) approach was used to assess the importance of six causal factors to landslides in an ArcGIS environment.Thirdly, a landslide susceptibility map was created based on a weighted linear combination model.According to this susceptibility map, the study area was classified into four categories of landslide susceptibility:low, moderate, high and very high.Finally, in order to verify the results obtained, the susceptibility map and the landslide inventory map were combined in the GIS.In addition, the weighting procedure showed that TFNW is an efficient method for weighting causal landslide factors.展开更多
Fatigue failure is a common failure mode under the action of cyclic loads in engineering applications,which often occurs with no obvious signal.The maximum structural stress is far below the allowable stress when the ...Fatigue failure is a common failure mode under the action of cyclic loads in engineering applications,which often occurs with no obvious signal.The maximum structural stress is far below the allowable stress when the structures are damaged.Aiming at the lightweight structure,fatigue topology optimization design is investigated to avoid the occurrence of fatigue failure in the structural conceptual design beforehand.Firstly,the fatigue life is expressed by topology variables and the fatigue life filter function.The continuum fatigue optimization model is established with the independent continuous mapping(ICM)method.Secondly,fatigue life constraints are transformed to distortion energy constraints explicitly by taking advantage of the distortion energy theory.Thirdly,the optimization formulation is solved by the dual sequence quadratic programming(DSQP).And the design scheme of lightweight structure considering the fatigue characteristics is obtained.Finally,numerical examples illustrate the practicality and effectiveness of the fatigue optimization method.This method further expands the theoretical application of the ICM method and provides a novel approach for the fatigue optimization problem.展开更多
Aims.Return to work(RTW)after breast cancer is a complex process that questions the individual trajectories of patients and stakeholders.Program planning in this context requires relying on appropriate methods like In...Aims.Return to work(RTW)after breast cancer is a complex process that questions the individual trajectories of patients and stakeholders.Program planning in this context requires relying on appropriate methods like Intervention Mapping(IM)which encompasses such complexity.The aim of the methodological study is to describe an application of IM for both the design and production of a patient guide supporting RTW after breast cancer.Procedure.According to IM,the guide was co-constructed with a Community Advisory Board(CAB)of stakeholders(patients/associations,health professionals,companies,institutions)after considering other options(interactive website,mobile application).The design was done with empirical and theoretical anchoring,guided here by an Ecosystem Process of Change model.A communication agency was chosen to produce the document.Pre-tests were conducted with a representative panel of the target audience to assess the different prototypes elaborated,using questionnaires and a focus group.Results.The final structure of the guide is presented with comments in order to concretely illustrate the management of IM steps 3 and 4.The final structure of the guide is presented,along with a description of its components that target women(according to Prochaska et Di Clemente’s stages of change)and their environment(by use of levers they may activate).The results of the pre-test led to the simplification of the guide and its structure.Conclusion.IM allows a rich integration of experiential knowledge in the planning of complex health and public health programs.The development of the guide has attempted to integrate its aspects,in particular to promote both its implementation and its effects.Reflections are brought about the realistic evaluation of such complex interventions.展开更多

These kinds of mappings contain many monotone type mappings, such as maximal monotone mapping, bounded pseudo-monotone mapping and bounded generalized pseudo-monotone mapping, as its special cases. In the second part we define the pseudo-degree for (S) type mapping and the degree for (S)+ type mapping. These two kinds of degrees are all the generalizations of the degree defined by Browder[1,2] As applications, we utilize the degree theory presented in part 2 to study the existence of solutions for the multivalued operator equations (see part 3) and to obtain some new fixed point theorems in part 4.展开更多

In the presentmanuscript,a Layer-Wise(LW)generalizedmodel is proposed for the linear static analysis of doublycurved shells constrained with general boundary conditions under the influence of concentrated and surface ...In the presentmanuscript,a Layer-Wise(LW)generalizedmodel is proposed for the linear static analysis of doublycurved shells constrained with general boundary conditions under the influence of concentrated and surface loads.The unknown field variable is modelled employing polynomials of various orders,each of them defined within each layer of the structure.As a particular case of the LW model,an Equivalent Single Layer(ESL)formulation is derived too.Different approaches are outlined for the assessment of external forces,as well as for non-conventional constraints.The doubly-curved shell is composed by superimposed generally anisotropic laminae,each of them characterized by an arbitrary orientation.The fundamental governing equations are derived starting from an orthogonal set of principal coordinates.Furthermore,generalized blending functions account for the distortion of the physical domain.The implementation of the fundamental governing equations is performed bymeans of the Generalized Differential Quadrature(GDQ)method,whereas the numerical integrations are computed employing theGeneralized IntegralQuadrature(GIQ)method.In the post-processing phase,an effective procedure is adopted for the reconstruction of stress and strain through-the-thickness distributions based on the exact fulfillment of three-dimensional equilibrium equations.A series of systematic investigations are performed in which the static response of structures with various curvatures and lamination schemes,calculated by the present methodology,have been successfully compared to those ones obtained fromrefined finite element three-dimensional simulations.Even though the present LW approach accounts for a two-dimensional assessment of the structural problem,it is capable of well predicting the three-dimensional response of structures with different characteristics,taking into account a reduced computational cost and pretending to be a valid alternative to widespread numerical implementations.展开更多

The present study applies Dr.He Yuanjian's CMT(Conceptual Mapping Theory) to focus on the strategy use of translating Chinese folklore concepts in Hong Lou Meng(i.e.indigenous concepts related to etiquettes and cu...The present study applies Dr.He Yuanjian's CMT(Conceptual Mapping Theory) to focus on the strategy use of translating Chinese folklore concepts in Hong Lou Meng(i.e.indigenous concepts related to etiquettes and customs) by Yang Xianyi and his wife Gladys Yang on the observations of the translators'strategies and the distributional tendencies of translation strategies so as to testify CMT on empirical grounds.Whether it holds true that the preservation of the alien source concepts through translation depends on how successfully they are mapped into the target conceptual system leads to the attempts to study on the distributional tendency of translation strategies of translation tasks,especially,of translating folkloric concepts in this paper.As a result,the tentative outcome of the data observed supports that the concept-mediation theoretic approach to translation process seems able to account for how cognitive constraints affect the production of mapping the unshared concepts.展开更多
