Application of Student-centered Learning Approach to English Listening and Speaking Class in Vocational Schools

Student-centered learning approach is focused on the students' demands and interests.Applying student-centered approach puts forward higher requirement to English teachers.This article first analyzes the theory of student-centered learning approach and compares teacher-centered approach with it.Based on the research information and teaching experience,the author summarizes four strategies about how to apply student-centered learning approach to English listening and speaking class in vocational schools.

On Application of the Student-centered Approach in English Classroom Teaching of Chinese Vocational Colleges

Nowadays, people have been more critical about the traditional ways of teaching and advocate the student-centered teaching approach. This paper focuses on the student- centered approach in English classroom teaching in vocational colleges. It points out that the students' English levels, the current mainstream of teaching in English class as well as the teaching materials in Chinese vocational college are all important factors that influence the outcome of the student-centered teaching approach. Meanwhile, the paper proves that college students can gain more in the student-centered English class. In the end, some suggestions are provided.

How to Apply Student-centered Teaching Techniques in a Large Class

It is very common to have a class of 50 or more students in Chinese schools, and teaching a foreign language effectively to a large class is really hard work. In order to change the teacher-centered teaching model into the student-centered one, Teachers should keep students' needs, interests, and learning styles in mind, apply several kinds of teaching techniques, organize different classroom activities and encourage, praise and appreciate both students' success and learning process all the time. If teachers place more responsibility in the hands of students, serve as "presenter or facilitator of knowledge" instead of "source of all knowledge", they can greatly motivate students to learn the language in a very active, cooperative and effective way. After all, people learn by doing, not only by watching and listening.

A Case Study on the Student-centered Approach to English Teaching for Students of Polytechnics

Insights obtained from this study may be useful in improving college English teaching in the aim of better preparing teachers to assume teaching responsibilities.This study may also contribute to an understanding of how administrators can improve training programs to better meet the needs,experiences,and beliefs of college students.The information may be useful in improving programs designed to facilitate the development of college teachers' beliefs about teaching and teaching skills and specifically those target the development of inquiry teaching.

The Student-Centered and Topic-Based Approach in College English Teaching

The Natural Approach has got through the debates and is proved to be helpful in foreign language teaching.Based on this,the student-centered & topic-based approach is proved to be an appropriate way in college English teaching.This paper is devoted to justifying the effectiveness of this approach in the college English classroom,and providing an organization of a typical college English class.

美国高等教育普及化阶段“以学生为中心”的教学改革成效探析——基于“全美大学生学习性投入调查(NSSE)”2001-2018年数据研究

本科教学改革是高校持续推进入才培养创新的重要举措。20世纪70年代以来,美国高校为走出高等教育普及化初期质量低谷,广泛开展“以学生为中心”的教学改革。基于“全美大学生学习性投入调查(NSSE)”2001—2018年约500万本科生样本数据的研究发现,在此次改革中,美国高等教育领域积极回归以学生能力增值为导向的通识性教学目标,涵养以学习主体性、社会建构性和真实情境性为特征的教学生态,营造有利于大学生学习投入的教学环境,并借助学生调查完善教学质量反馈机制。21世纪以来,美国本科教学质量显著提升,但逐渐进入“高原”瓶颈期。具体表现为:本科生能力增值明显,教学过程中反思性学习、合作式学习、课堂表达和生师互动行为显著增加,院校的学业和社会性支持持续增强,但同时多个教学质量指标逐渐趋于停滞甚至有所下降。总体而言,“以学生为中心”的教学改革对保持美国高校人才培养的全球竞争力产生了积极影响。

On the Learner-Centered Teaching Approach——The Reflection Getting from New College English By ZheJiang University

This paper first focuses on a brief evaluation of the teacher-centered and the learner-centered methodologies and the relevant result and the necessity for changing. Secondly ,it represents the practical ways of teaching based on the learner-centered approach in classrooms to show how students' initiative is given .Thirdly , it presents the guidance for fellow teachers and students in group activities .The author of the paper believes that getting students started is the initial step towards active learning and fruitful teaching. It is proposed that efforts made to get students involved should focus not only on forms of activities but also on their contents , skill integration and establishing cooperative relationships between teachers and students or among students.

以学生为主体的高职院校生物化学课程教学设计--以“蛋白质的结构与功能”为例

高职院校学生的学习能力差、知识点掌握不牢固、接受新知识的能力弱、上课注意力不集中,因此在进行授课时,应该摒弃传统的“以教师为中心”的教授方式,转为“以学生为中心”。采用案例教学法、项目驱动教学法和参与式教学法等多样化教学手段,用学生感兴趣的案例,用学生能听懂的语言,充分调动学生的积极性,加深学生对知识点的理解与记忆,让课堂变成有趣的课堂。

How to exert the student-center approach in middle school English teaching

In order to train a student to be a person with ability,who can self-study,use knowledge flexibly and bring firth new ideas constantly,the constant development of society demands a full exertion of student-center approach in the process of education.Therefore,how to exert the student-center approach is a question that every teacher is facing.I think that we can exert the student-center approach from the following aspects.One,a teacher must change his teaching conception.He should know that it's the students who are the main body of teaching and the teacher can act as a guider.The other,by all means,we ought to make the students know the purpose of their study and the function of themselves in learning.We also ought to culture their interest in learning,inspire and strengthen their main body consciousness.the teacher should,on the basis of full understanding his students and textbook,exert the leading function of himself.In the course of teaching,the teacher can exert the advantage of advanced teaching method,such as situational language teaching,and advanced teaching instrument,such as multimedia,which will inspire the students' interest and conscious activities.We can train the students' imagining ability through encouragement 、guiding and extracurricular activities.We can improve the students' ability of self-study.Thus,the students' main body function will reach a better exertion and the effect of teaching will be improved.This will train the students to suit the need of society.

面向卓越工程师培养的“S-C-I”教学模式创新

基于思维导图的双语教学探究--以水文学与水资源课程为例

基于双语教学存在的学生整体英语水平不高、课程任务量大、教师教学方式比较被动及课堂互动性不高等问题,从思维导图可视化、发散性等优势入手,深入分析思维导图在水文学与水资源双语课程中的应用。将思维导图应用于水文学与水资源双语课程,降低语言障碍,加强记忆效果,促进学生对知识总体框架结构的掌握。同时,启发学生的创新思维,引导学生深化水文学课程内容,形成“以学生为中心”的教学体系,有效地提升本课程教学质量。

该文基于“学生中心-能力导向”的教学理念,对《安全评价》课程进行教学改革。将课程内容优化为“知识模块-知识单元-知识点”模式,并设置训练主题提升学生相应的各项能力。改变传统重教轻学的教学方式,充分利用自学、讨论课等形式培养学生自主学习和解决复杂安全工程问题的能力。

Injected spectrum for TeV γ-ray emission from the galactic center

The detection of very high energy γ-ray emission from the Galactic center has been reported by four independent groups. One of these γ-ray sources, the 10 TeV -γ-ray radiation reported by HESS, has been suggested as having a hadronic origin when relativistic protons are injected into and interact with the dense ambient gas. Assuming that such relativistic protons required by the hadronic model come from the tidal disruption of a star by the massive black hole of Sgr A＊, we explore the spectrum of the relativis- tic protons. In the calculations, we investigate cases where different types of stars are tidally disrupted by the black hole of Sgr A＊, and we consider that different diffusion mechanisms are used for the propagation of protons. The initial energy distribution of the injected spectrum of protons is assumed to follow a power-law with an exponential cut-off, and we derive the different indices of the injected spectra for the tidal disruption of different types of stars. For the best fit to the spectrum of photons detected by HESS, the spectral index of the injected relativistic protons is about 2.05 when a red giant is tidally disrupted by the black hole of Sgr A＊ and the diffusion mechanism is the Effective Confinement of Protons.

“以学生为中心”是当前高等教育改革的核心理念之一。运用Citespace以及VOSviewer对国内近年的期刊文献进行计量分析,绘制出知识图谱,梳理了主要作者、研究机构、热点主题和研究趋势。研究发现,该领域研究集中在以“学生为中心”的理念、教学改革、教学模式和课堂教学四个方面。展望未来研究,研究机构要加强机构之间的合作,将立德树人与“以学生为中心”的教学设计相结合,加强实证研究,关注“以学生为中心”的实际教学效果。
