Survey and Analysis of Chinese Learning Needs of International Students-A Case Study of International Students Majoring in MBA and MPA in a College of The Belt and Road

This study investigated the Chinese learning motivation,learning goals and learning strategies of 26 international students majoring in MBA and MPA at a university with The belt and road college,mainly by questionnaire and interview method,supplemented by classroom observation method.The survey found that 20 of the 24 international students were zero-start Chinese learners,and their learning motivation was mainly"instrumental"and"intrinsic",and they had high enthusiasm for Chinese language and Chinese culture.They have a high enthusiasm for Chinese language and culture,and will actively solve the difficulties they encounter in learning Chinese.At the same time,this study conducted a questionnaire survey on the needs of international students in terms of curriculum and content,teaching materials,teaching assessment and extracurricular activities,combined with the results of individual and group interviews and classroom observations,to summarize the real needs of international students in various aspects of Chinese language learning,so as to provide teaching reference for teachers teaching international students,and to provide a reference for colleges and universities to develop Chinese teaching programs.The survey will provide a basis for the colleges and universities to formulate Chinese teaching programs and coordinate teaching activities,so as to help international students learn Chinese better.

Learning Behaviors and English Language Needs of Chinese Postgraduate Students Studying in Thai University

This study is aimed at investigating Chinese postgraduates`learning behaviors,language problems and needs,and also the ways they deal with these problems.It attempts to analyze factors that may affect the way they learn.A set of questionnaires and interviews were used in the study.Implications are then discussed in learning styles and the Chinese culture of learning.

Myocardial infarction patients' learning needs: Perceptions of patients, family members and nurses

Purpose: This descriptive study aimed to identify and compare patient with myocardial infarction,their family member,and cardiac nurse perceptions on the learning needs of patients with myocardial infarction in the acute,sub-acute,and post-acute phases.Methods: A total of 288 patients with myocardial infarction,145 family members,and 40 cardiac unit nurses were enrolled in this study.Data were collected by survey method using the Cardiac Patient Learning Need Inventory (CPLNI).Data analysis was done using descriptive statistical analysis and analysis of variance.Results: The results showed that the learning needs of patients with myocardial infarction were high according to the perceptions of patients,patients' family members,and nurses.There were differences in the priority of learning that the patient need in relation to the disease and healing process.Conclusion: Patients,family members,and nurses have different perceptions regarding the learning needs of patients with myocardial infarction.To create adequate intervention to meet patient's learning needs,there should be an accurate assessment.The results of this study support the importance of patient-centered,individualized education and attention to learning priorities.

Empirical Research of Farmer College Students' Learning Ability and Learning Effect in the Digital Environment

In the course of training farmer college students,there have been a number of problems facing the modern distance education based on digital learning environment,such as weak learning adaptability and ability of farmers and diverse learning needs.Using the empirical methods of questionnaire survey and interview,this article conducts an analysis of the farmer college students' digital learning ability and learning effect,and based on the theoretical study and practical achievements,explores some aspects,such as the information literacy and entrepreneurship ability training for farmer college students,the reform of course teaching and practice teaching,and the building of digital learning platform and special resources.And finally some innovative ideas and recommendations are put forth.

Incorporation of Media Arts for Chilean Young Students With Special Learning Needs

The present informal study of Information and Communication Technology(ICT)in special education through media arts.There are deep inequalities in the access of new technological opportunities and adaptive user experiences for students with special learning needs.Our goal as teacher educators is to improve enhance autonomous learning using the complementary subject of media arts.This new educational proposal aims to solve the technology usability problems for students with disabilities.The personalized autonomy of students’use technology in school learning is a key strategy for students with disabilities.For this study as with many schools,the technology resources and educational services to implement digital skills and new ICT teaching-learning strategies for the complementary subject of media arts is not available.Finally,implementing these digital skills is an essential part of the educational-labor system for adolescent students with disabilities.

An Analysis on Students’Chinese Learning Needs of Confucius Institute at Hasanuddin University,Indonesia

Hasanuddin University in Indonesia through a questionnaire,the key point is to understand the learning needs of students and to make suggestions for optimizing the curriculum and teaching methods of Chinese teachers.Due to the limited time and conditions,there are some deficiencies in this study.As there are many factors affecting the learning needs,the questionnaire may not cover the whole content,it can only reflect the learning needs of learners,and cannot be used as an accurate measure.The study focused on comprehensive learning needs,so it was not compare the learning needs of students from the two teaching sites,nor was it compare the learning needs of male and female learners,these questions also require precise analysis by subsequent researchers.In addition,although the optimization of the proposal has a certain practicality,but still need to practice and improve.

Educational Application for Special Needs Is a Learning Tool the Way Forward？

As the 21st century brings in a revolutionary change in the way students study at schools and universities, technology continues to play a crucial role in helping students achieve more conceptual and practical knowledge of topics taught in classrooms. Students with special needs too are now able to study in a general classroom setting, access relevant technologies and use them for higher cognitive development, helping them integrate with their surroundings. However, existing literature shows that though multiple learning tools exist that do enhance learning in special needs students, they either cater to specific areas of development such as Mathematics and English, or that are targeted towards a specified category of studentswith special needs such as autism and cerebral palsy. Furthermore, despite multiple laws and regulations supporting the right to education launched by the UAE （United Arab Emirates） government for special needs students, there seems to exist a need to provide classrooms across the country with educational applications that have a universal approach particularly in the UAE in order to include students with almost any special needs. This paper looks closely at the existing literature and highlights this gap, especially in the UAE and proposes to develop such a tool based on existing learning concepts.

ICARE Model:Learning Model Organization That Based on Work Skills Through Saori Weaving for Special Needs Children

Purpose:(1)Study the current state and needs of learning management,focusing on work skills through Saori weaving for special needs children;(2)Develop a learning management model focusing on work skills;(3)Develop a teacher-centered learning management approach through the use of Saori weaving for special needs children;(4)Study the effectiveness of the learning management model that focuses on working with special children.Research&Development Research Results:(1)The current state and needs of learning management focused on work skills through Saori weaving for special children;(2)The learning management model emphasizing for special children is four steps:a.prepare the actual context;b.set goals;c.plan and execute;d.monitoring;and Evaluatio Saori Weaving Class has five details:(1)Inspire:I(Explain:Inspired to work for success);(2)Choose:C(Explain:Choose what you like before you can see the future do it);(3)Aim&Act:A(Explain:Work with a happy goal that has set);(4)Reflect on learning:R(Explain:Reflect on learning);(5)Experiential-Based Learning Measure by concluding:ICARE Model.The results of teacher development on learning management focused on working skills:(1)Teachers with average scores after training,35.09%was 77.98%;(2)22 trainers were able to develop a skill management plan in the 21st century at the best evaluated in 73.33%and eight persons respectively in good or 26.67%.(3)The results of the study on the effectiveness of the model showed that the extra children had a higher grade of Saori weaving.After class,75.49%were higher than the standard set of 70%and the students were satisfied with Saori weaving as the most levels.

The Analysis of Discrepancies between English for Specific Purposes Teaching and Needs Analysis of Job Requirements

This paper aims at strengthening teachers’understanding as well as optimizing future curriculum design of ESP(Eng⁃lish Specific Purpose).According to the literature ESP is one of the means for language learning and teaching,which is based on learners’needs.By adopting needs analysis,teachers are able to deeply and appropriately understand the needs from students and the real-life settings like working places in society.According to the three cases that have been reviewed,there are always discrep⁃ancies between teaching and learning in the classroom,and the real-life needs of job requirements in society.Combining the curric⁃ulum design of ESP and the method of needs analysis is an effective way to close the discrepancy.

基于E-learning的大学英语听力学习需求的调查研究

大学英语听力教学是大学英语教学中重要组成部分,如何充分利用现代信息技术,采用基于E-learning的大学英语听力教学模式倍受关注。笔者对非英语专业本科生在E-learning下对英语听力学习的需求进行了分析,发现学生在英语学习中使用听力技能少是因为他们认为自己的听能差,提高听力技能的需求最大,虽然多数学生使用互联网,但E-learning英语学习中发挥的作用有限,用于英语听力训练的则更少,根据数据分析结果,本文为大学英语听力教学改革提供了一些启示。

A study on needs analysis of learners of Turkish language

This paper reports a small-scale study of needs analysis of leamers of Turkish as a foreign language at University of Florida. Needs analysis is described in the context of foreign language learning as ＂a systematic and ongoing process of gathering information about students＇ needs and preferences, interpreting the information and then making course decisions in order to meet those needs＂ （Graves, 2000, p. 74）. Because foreign language instruction has become much more learner-centered in recent years, needs analysis is a must for effective learning processes to occur （LONG, 1999, 2005; Kikuchi ＆ Apple, 2006）. In this context, the purpose of this pilot study is to gather information about the students＇ needs in learning Turkish at Center for European Studies, where less commonly taught languages, including Czech, Greek, Hungarian and Polish are offered. Drawing on interview data compiled from a number of studies （Tarone ＆ Yule, 1989; LI ＆ Richards, 1995）, the findings indicate that the students＇ needs may be grouped under four categories including their linguistic needs, their objectives in learning Turkish, learning resources, psychological and sociological factors that may impact their learning experiences. In the light of the interview findings, certain suggestions as to how to teach Turkish effectively are made.

Chinese nurses’ perceived impact of international educational experiences and cultural beliefs following a 1-year study abroad program: an exploratory study

Objectives:To examine the perceived impact of international educational experiences and cultural beliefs before and after completing a 1-year Masters of Science in Nursing program.Methods:An exploratory study was conducted among Chinese nurses studying abroad in a private medium-sized university in the United States.The 27-item electronic pre-survey was administered within 1 week of starting the program and the post-survey was administered 1 year later at the completion of the program.Results:Majority of participants(n=25)were female,23–36 years of age.Findings revealed that the perceived impact of international educational experiences assessed at the start of the program was similar to the perceived impact measured at the end of the 1-year program,suggesting that the students learned and experienced what they anticipated.There was a significant impact on cultural beliefs from the start of the program compared with the end of the program suggesting that a 1-year study abroad program does influence cultural beliefs.Conclusions:Understanding what is important to provide in a study abroad program and providing the educational experiences identified by students as impactful are avenues to help host universities best develop their programs.Findings suggested that the 1-year program can influence foreign students’cultural beliefs,yet the professional and personal impact of this change warrants further study.

The Ways to Motivate the Senior High School Students to Learn English

Abstract:Although our country has attached great importance to English education,especially to the senior high schools’English teaching and learning,there still exist a great number of senior high school students who can’t learn English well.Low learning motivation is one of the major causes.Thus,it is urgent to improve the senior high school students’English learning motivation in the present English education process.In this paper,starting with the definition of learning motivation,and based on attribution theory,need theory,the author will roughly discuss the internal factors and external factors,which lead to the senior high school students’low English learning motivation,and then analyze the possible ways to motivate the students to learn English.

Practice and Exploration of Mixed Teaching of Microelectronics

The mixed teaching mode plays an increasingly important role in stimulating students’interest and autonomy in learning,and strengthening students’learning ability.The full integration of mixed teaching mode and microelectronics teaching can not only achieve the teaching objectives smoothly,but also enable students to deepen their understanding and memory of relevant knowledge with the help of diversified and interesting teaching methods.Therefore,this paper takes the microelectronics course as an example to practice and explore the effective ways to carry out the mixed teaching mode.Teachers should not make full use of online and offline teaching resources,but also actively improve the traditional assessment systems.Through the continuous improvement of the practicality of online and offline teaching content,an easy-to-complex teaching method with a coherent content structure can be adopted to stimulate students’learning motivation,improve their enthusiasm for participation,and lay a solid foundation for further improvements in the teaching of microelectronics technology.

Psychological Emotion Analysis System for Special Needs Children Based on Neural Network

With the development of modern society and the improvement of living standards,care for special needs children has been increasingly highlighted,and numerous corresponding measures such as welfare homes,special education schools,and youth care centers have emerged.Due to the lack of systematic emotional companionship,the mental health of special needs children are bound to be affected.Nowadays,emotional education,analysis,and evaluation are mostly done by psychologists and emotional analysts,and these measures are unpopular.Therefore,many researchers at home and abroad have focused on the solution of psychological issues and the psychological assessment and emotional analysis of such children in their daily lives.In this paper,a special children’s psychological emotional analysis based on neural network is proposed,where the system sends the voice information to a cloud platform through intelligent wearable devices.To ensure that the data collected are valid,a series of pretreatments such as Chinese word segmentation,de-emphasis,and so on are put into the neural network model.The model is based on the further research of transfer learning and Bi-GRU model,which can meet the needs of Chinese text sentiment analysis.The completion rate of the final model test has reached 97%,which means that it is ready for use.Finally,a web page is designed,which can evaluate and detect abnormal psychological state,and at the same time,a personal emotion database can also be established.

老年在线声乐学习的需求、行为特征与促进策略

老年在线声乐学习是教育数字化转型下的实践场域,其有助于提升老年人的幸福感和生命价值。通过选取参与在线声乐学习的老年群体开展问卷和访谈调研,探明了老年群体参与在线声乐学习的缘由、学习行为特征和学习障碍等;发现老年用户在线声乐学习行为特征匹配五类学习需求——应对需求、表达需求、贡献需求、影响需求和超越需求。探明了促进老年在线学习的有效策略,即提供老年在线学习支持和代际互助、发展老年用户粘性、构建学习共同体、实施平台无障碍设计及适老化改造、提供适合老年用户的优秀教师等。

高职院校学生学习需求的表达与创生——一项基于扎根理论的质性研究

学业评价是保障高职院校人才培养质量的重要手段,而学业评价的关键在于对高职学生学习需求的把握。选取长三角地区10所高职院校的19名在校学生,基于扎根理论的编码范式,呈现学生学习需求的真实图景:有用的学习成果、快乐的学习体验、非传统的人才培养模式、高质量的第二课堂是学生的显性学习需求;理论知识的学习、通用知识与软性技能的觉醒、获得全面公正的评价与反馈是被主流评价系统忽视和压抑的学习需求;实现个人梦想、承担国家社会责任、政治参与等宏大需求无法得到学生的充分言说,需要通过深度的师生互动、联合的教育生活予以澄清和创生。

基于学生学习需求分析的医学检验技术专业教学改革措施

通过对大连大学医学检验技术专业在校学生学习需求的问卷调查,以了解该专业学生在本科教育阶段的学习需求,分析大连大学现有的教学资源及约束条件,查找在医学检验技术专业培养体系中存在的不足和问题,并有针对性地对学生在适应大学学习生活、学习动机、教学方法、考核评价方式、实践教学以及在学习中存在的困扰等方面采取一系列行之有效的教学改革措施,旨在为大连大学培养具有岗位胜任力的应用型医学检验技术人才提供科学依据。
