Construction of Molecular Biology and Experiment Case Library for Graduate Students

Molecular Biology and Experiment is considered fundamental for graduate students specializing in aquaculture at Guangdong Ocean University.This discipline focuses on the examination of the structure and function of macromolecules,including proteins and nucleic acids.Moreover,it elucidates biological phenomena and principles at the molecular level,making it an essential foundational course for students pursuing various biology majors.As a foundational course for the basic application of aquaculture,Molecular Biology and Experiment requires guidance through numerous examples and cases.However,there are several challenges to address in developing the case library.Consequently,a case library has been established to meet the course requirements of Molecular Biology and Experiment for modern graduate students,with the central goal of reforming the educational model of higher education institutions and enhancing the effectiveness and quality of talent development.This strategy is designed to nurture highly skilled professionals who can address the current needs of the industry.

Library-Inside:AI赋能图书馆新质生产力的一种基础模型

AI正引发知识服务的生产力×生产关系的革命性变革,迫切需要推动AI与图书馆服务深度融合,打造符合新的发展理念的先进生产力质态。本文提出,从第一性原则思维出发,面向复杂适应性系统,以问题驱动和场景驱动的创新和设计驱动的创新,不断演进发展AI赋能的图书馆服务的新质生产力。在回归原点分析“人们到图书馆干什么”的基础上,基于大语言模型+AI智能体提供的能力,提出Library-Inside作为AI赋能图书馆新质生产力的一种基础模型,并描述了三种可能的实现模式:Library-Inside 1.0作为用户知识应用的智能助手,Library-Inside 2.0作为用户知识生产的智慧座舱和Library-Inside 3.0(Library×)打造用户AI赋能知识生产力的生态养育站。本文指出,要以战略创新推动图书馆新质生产力发展,要注意克服战略创新中的内在的结构性缺失和系统性偏差。

The college students' response to customized information services based on Library2.0 technologies at universities in Nanjing

Through a questionnaire survey of students’ response from 6 universities in Nanjing, this paper aims to determine their varying degrees of satisfaction about the customized information service based on Library2.0 technologies. In so doing, the authors carefully examined the data collected from the returned questionnaires about such key issues as the students’ perceptions about the customized information service via a Library2.0platform, self-initiated use experience of such a mechanism, their achieved information searching results vis-à-vis their expectations, etc. In addition, the authors also made a comparative study between information providers(i.e. librarians) and information consumers(i.e. students) at Chinese and American academic libraries.

Social bookmarking behaviors of college students:A survey of Wuhan University Library users

Purpose:To have a better understanding of library users' social bookmarking behaviors,we conducted a survey of college students to examine how much attention they have paid to social bookmarking results,their social bookmarking motivations and behaviors on book sharing sites and in their library's OPAC,and their expectations to their library's social bookmarking service.Design/methodology/approach:A questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate social bookmarking behaviors and motivations of users of Wuhan University Library(WUL) on book sharing sites and in WUL's OPAC.A total of 700 questionnaires were distributed and357 valid questionnaires were retrieved.SPSS was used for data analysis.Findings:The results revealed that there were differences between users' social bookmarking behaviors on book sharing sites and in the Library's OPAC.Users preferred to use tags than add tags on book sharing sites.The main tagging motivation on book sharing sites was for meeting users' specific needs such as collection management and book recommendations.As for the Library,the lack of publicity and promotion of the social bookmarking service led to insufficient use of the Library's service.Due to a lack of knowledge of the social bookmarking service,users did not care about the lectures or publicity campaigns about the Library's social bookmarking service.Research limitations:Because social bookmarking was not common among WUL users,and the questionnaires could be handed out to a limited number of people,it was hard to describe users' social bookmarking behaviors in the Library's OPAC by investigating a sample of 357Library users,and therefore we only investigated users' social bookmarking behaviors on the book sharing sites.Practical implications:The survey results provide insights into library users' social bookmarking behaviors and motivations.The study will help academic libraries improve their social bookmarking service.Originality/value:In spite of growing popularity of social bookmarking sites,little has been known about the social bookmarking behaviors of library users.This study investigated college students' social bookmarking behaviors and motivations,providing suggestions for academic libraries to improve their social bookmarking services.

XPZLIB:an HDF5-format multi-group cross-section library

A multi-group cross-section library is fundamental for deterministic lattice physics calculations.Most existing multi-group cross-section libraries are customized for particular computer codes,as well as for particular types of nuclear reactors.This paper presents an HDF5-format multi-group cross-section library named XPZLIB.XPZLIB was produced using a selfdeveloped XPZR module integrated into the NJOY2016 code,and an in-house PyNjoy2022 system was developed for autoprocessing.XPZLIB contains detailed data content and well-organized data structures that are user-and developer-friendly.Three typical XPZLIBs with different numbers of energy groups,nuclides,and depletion reaction types were released via the Tsinghua cloud website.Furthermore,the applicability of the released XPZLIBs was investigated using HTGR and PWR lattice calculations,which can provide guidance for applying XPZLIB under different scenarios.

An efficient method for constructing a random insertional mutant library for forward genetics in Nannochloropsis oceanica

Insertional mutation,phenotypic evaluation,and mutated gene cloning are widely used to clone genes from scratch.Exogenous genes can be integrated into the genome during non-homologous end joining(NHEJ)of the double-strand breaks of DNA,causing insertional mutation.The random insertional mutant library constructed using this method has become a method of forward genetics for gene cloning.However,the establishment of a random insertional mutant library requires a high transformation efficiency of exogenous genes.Many microalgal species show a low transformation efficiency,making constructing random insertional mutant libraries difficult.In this study,we established a highly efficient transformation method for constructing a random insertional mutant library of Nannochloropsis oceanica,and tentatively tried to isolate its genes to prove the feasibility of the method.A gene that may control the growth rate and cell size was identified.This method will facilitate the genetic studies of N.oceanica,which should also be a reference for other microalgal species.

The Book Publishing and Analysis of Modern Peking University Library

The paper is based on literature search,introducing and analyzing the book publishing situation of modern Peking University Library from the perspective of the publisher being Peking University Library and its predecessor.It is pointed out that the majority of the book printing methods published by the modern Peking University Library are lead printing,and among the types of Chinese library classification,catalogue of library collections is the most common.

Other Cities’Distribution Institutions for Publishing Books in Modern Chinese Libraries:Taking Huating Bookstore,the Shanghai General Distribution Office of Modern Zhejiang Library,as an Example

Many modern Chinese libraries have established distribution agencies in other cities to distribute books published or sold on consignment.Huating Bookstore,which was once the Shanghai General Distribution Office of Zhejiang Library in modern times,is one of them.On the basis of a brief description of modern Zhejiang Library and its book publishing,as well as the overview of Huating Bookstore,the paper introduces and analyzes the ZPL Publishing Book Catalogue sent by Huating Bookstore,and the ZPL publishing and selling consignment books issued by Huating Bookstore.It points out that Huating Bookstore is a bridge between the ZPL located in Hangzhou and various retail ZPL publishing bookstores in Shanghai.Their production and sales relationship is a mutually beneficial one.

Effects of Furniture Ergonomics on Student’s Satisfaction in a Library Facility

Building occupants are not immune to ill-health as a result of time they spend in a building.This paper seeks to examine the effects furniture ergonomics have on student’s satisfaction in the library of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.A pilot survey was initially conducted in the library through a one-to-one interaction with students to fetch their opinions on the general effects of the furniture.An observation through several walkthroughs was also conducted by the researchers to compare and validate responses obtained.Two hundred and sixty-five students that come from fifteen nationalities are surveyed.A structured questionnaire is used to collect data on the respondents’opinions on the size,shape,arrangement and comfort of the furniture.Eta cross tabulation,Spearman’s rho and Kendall’s Tau-b are used to establish relationships.Results show that amongst the effects studied,there are significant positive relationships between students’satisfaction of furniture ergonomics as against back-strain and lack of concentration.This implies that the more the furniture arrangements,size and shape are perceived unsatisfactory,the more their effects on back-strain and lack of concentration towards the students.This paper further recommends that library management should see to designing IEQ(Indoor Environmental Quality)guidelines that will mitigate the effects of furniture ergonomics thus improving student’s satisfaction.

Design and Implementation of Library Seating Management System

The library seating management system is an important part of the library’s modern services. The system is based on the Spring and Spring Boot framework, and the system realizes a series of functions such as real-time query, reservation, and cancellation of seat resources, providing users with great convenience. With a simple operation, users can know the availability of seats in the library in real time and reserve them according to their needs. At the same time, the system also provides rich management functions, enabling administrators to easily configure and manage seat resources. The addition, deletion, modification and review of users, the generation of seats, the viewing of user usage records, and the addition or deletion of points for users’ usage can also be carried out. This not only improves the management efficiency, but also provides more scientific and accurate data support for the management of the library. The system not only optimizes the user experience, but also promotes the scientific management and efficient utilization of library resources, and provides strong support for the modern services of the library.

Research on the Construction of a Comprehensive Teaching Case Library for Ergonomics under the OBE Concept

In recent years,case-based teaching has become a hot spot in higher education reform,and the construction of case libraries has received increasing attention.The development of teaching case libraries not only promotes changes in talent training models but also enhances teaching effectiveness.Taking the ergonomics course as an example,this paper explores the construction of a comprehensive teaching case library for ergonomics under the outcome-based education concept,providing a reference for future ergonomics teaching case library development.

Integrated Project Library Exploration in Landscape Design Teaching for Environmental Design Majors

To enhance our talent cultivation model through“school-enterprise cooperation and industry-teaching fusion”,we aim to improve the“4321”Industry-Education Integration System.This includes actively promoting the use of case banks and project banks in teaching to develop students’practical engineering skills through hands-on application of professional knowledge.Additionally,landscape design courses emphasize practical learning experiences to implement the fundamental goal of“cultivating morality”.Guided by enhancing students’practical skills,we ensure alignment with course objectives and professional training requirements,emphasizing the seamless integration of theory and practice.

Analysis of the Books Issued by Yadong Library, Published by Peking University Publishing Department: Taking Several Bibliography Advertisements Carried in Newspapers and Magazines From 1919-1922 as Examples

Based on several bibliographic advertisements carried in newspapers and magazines from 1919 to 1922 for books published by Peking University Publishing Department,and issued by Yadong Library,the paper analyzes the characteristics of the books published by Peking University Publishing Department during this period,and points out that Yadong Library entered its golden period of development due to move from the alley to the main road and obtain the management rights of the books published by Peking University Publishing Department.

基于3DE平台Library架构的模板管理方法研究

在使用3DE平台的设计工作中,随着标准化模板积累,特别是抽水蓄能电站中,水工建筑物结构形式较为统一,大量采用了标准化模板建模,客观上导致模板在创建、发布、升级、拓展、归集、查询、应用等环节出现问题,影响设计效率。针对上述问题,开展了Library架构的3DE模板系统化管理方法的研究,探索了该架构下模板库创建、查询、应用的技术路线,并完成了抽水蓄能电站水工结构模板库的搭建。

基于SNS的Living Library虚拟社区构建研究

通过对国内外Living Library的考察,结合Web2.0和社会性网络SNS的发展,提出了一个基于SNS的Living Library虚拟社区模型:Virtual Living Library(简称VLL),并就VLL的概念模型的构建、实践和评价等方面进行了论述,讨论了VLL的建设可能性和发展前景。

基于Human Library的外语学习活动

Human Library是一种新颖的基于对话的教育方法。在Human Library中,HumanBook是由人充当的。人在读书的同时,"书"也在读人。在经验分享上,Human Book具有开放性。只要基本设施具备,对活动的主办者没有限制。Human Library的发展历程表明,将Hu-man Library的理念应用到学生的外语学习中是完全可行的。最后以日语为例提出了一种基于Human Library的外语学习模式。
