Research on the Current Situation of China’s Higher Education Students Studying Abroad in the Context of Higher Education Internationalization

In the context of education internationalization,the internationalization of higher education has become a major trend in the field of education in most countries,with international student education as the core.This phenomenon promotes cultural exchanges and integration among countries as well as higher education reform,which is of great significance in enhancing the international influence of higher education in each country.However,there are also some challenges faced by higher education students when studying abroad.The article digs into the origin and history of studying abroad,analyzes the current situation and reasons for higher education students in China to study abroad,discusses the opportunities and challenges faced by higher education students in China when studying abroad,and analyzes the trend of studying abroad in China.

Study on Motivation of Chinese College Students

This paper aims to investigate the motivation of Chinese college students.Questionnaires and other means of statistics are adopted to analyze college students' motivation and their motivating degree.The author also lists out some advices for the college English teachers to improve their teaching method and protect the students' learning motivation.

Effects of Study-Abroad Experiences on Chinese Students’ L2 Learning Activities and Study-Abroad Motivations

This study explores how overseas exchange opportunities might influence Chinese students ’engagement in L2 learning activities and how far such opportunities may satisfy their motivation to study abroad. The analysis of the data, collected and filtered from carefully designed questionnaires and interviews, showed that students ’ L2 learning activities and study-abroad motivations underwent changes after their overseas experiences. Regarding the former, the overseas environment was the cause of the change because it provided students with more chances to talk with native speakers and increased the frequency of their using L2 in their daily life. Regarding the latter, the decline of the students ’ major study-abroad motivations was partly because they tended to treat L2 learning as a tool for realizing other goals and partly because the students had got other important motivations. In view of these findings, suggestions were raised to help future students get better prepared for their overseas study or short-term exchange life.

A Quantitative Study of the First-Year Non-English Major College Students' Motivation in Learning English

There are many factors that may affect language learners in acquiring a foreign or second language; motivation is one that cannot be neglected. This paper aims to find out the motivational variables which college students may have in learning English as a second language.

Students＇ Motivation to Study Accounting Subjects： Difference Between Japan and Indonesia

This study investigates the differences between Japanese and Indonesian students＇ motivation to study accounting subjects. In addition, it examines the factors that can significantly influence students＇ motivation to study accounting subjects. Needless to say, the expansion of International Financial Reporting Standards （IFRS） depends on the quality of education in higher academic institutions. For several academic institutions, it is clear that the topic of students＇ motivation is still a meaningful concern, because the improvement of students＇ motivation and ability would enhance these institutions＇ academic performance in a competitive environment. In this study, the authors developed the theoretical model for students＇ motivation to study accounting subjects. This research showed that self-efficacy, accounting self-concept, mastery goals＇ perception, performance goals＇ perception, and social goals＇ perception had a significant influence on students＇ motivation to study accounting subjects. Furthermore, nationality had an impact on students＇ motivation. Japanese students are more motivated to study accounting subjects than Indonesian students. Another result clarified that goals＇ perception influences the relationship among self-efficacy, accounting self-concept, and students＇ motivation.

An Empirical Study on the Improvement of College Students＇ Learning Motivation

A Qualitative Study on College Students' Motivation of English Learning

Over the decades, English learning motivation has drawn much attention. The present case study aims to explore college students' motivation of English Learning. Based on SDT, the present study was conducted qualitatively. The researcher interviewed three non-English major students. This study found five types of motivation of English Learning. Besides, a person may have multiple motivations at the same time.

Study on Learning Motivation of Higher Vocational Colleges Students in Tianjin

Learning motivation occupies an important position in non-intelligence factors,as it plays a pivotal role in university students' successful completion of their studies and strengthening of professional knowledge base.However,the present university students generally lack motivation in higher education.This research used questionnaire method,which is a questionnaire random sample in 500 students of learning motivation from four comprehensive higher vocational colleges of Tianjin,and explores the status quo of learning motivation in higher vocational students of Tianjin.The result shows:The learning motivation level of higher vocational colleges students is above middle level;Male on the learning motivation total level is significantly higher than female;Rural students in the learning motivation on the aggregate level is significantly higher than that of urban students;Look from the different grades,sophomore students have lowest level of learning motivation;Freshmen learning motivation is at highest level.

The Relationship between Mandarin Classroom Learning Environment and Students' Motivation to Learn Mandarin:A Study of a Sample of Grade 7&8 Students from Chinese School in Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia

The literature of the classroom environment research has been reviewed extensively over the years(Haertel, Walberg,&Haertel, 1981; Fraser, 1986; Fraser, 1991; Fraser, 1998; Fraser, 2002; Fraser, 2007). Reviews on early classroom environment studies revealed that there were relationships between students' perceptions towards their classroom learning environments and their cognitive and affective learning outcomes(Fraser, 1986; Haertel, Walberg, &Haertel, 1981). This study is designed to investigate teachers' and students' perceptions towards their Malaysian classroom learning environments in six dimensions, namely‘Student Cohesiveness',‘Teacher Support',‘Involvement',‘Cooperation,‘Task Orientation'and‘Equity'in Malaysia secondary schools.

Chinese Vocational Students' Motivational Factors Pertaining to Gender within College English Curricula: a Study within a Southwestern Chinese Context

Predominant research within Chinese academic contexts focusing on students’ L2 motivational factors remain rooted inlarge-scale research that does not draw a distinction between students from different regional groups within Chinese higher educa-tion. This research seeks to focus specifically on a less-studied group within the Chinese College English curriculum: vocationalstudents—especially vocational students studying within an educational institution in the southwestern Chinese city of Chongqing.This small-scale survey(n = 129) was conducted in College English classes to determine if the motivational factors of vocationalstudents remained aligned or distinct from those of their peers across Chinese higher education. Subsequent analysis from the sur-vey findings have shown that while gender differences remain manifested and are aligned with established trends and assumptionspertaining to L2 motivational factors within this context, more research is required to delve into the reasons and rationale behindthe choices made by vocational students in southwestern China within this particular survey instrument.

Knowledge and Attitudes of Knust Pre-Clinical Dental Students towards Orthodontic Treatment

Background: Orthodontics is a dental specialty focusing on correcting dental irregularities and malocclusion. Knowledge and attitudes towards orthodontic treatment are crucial for promoting oral health and overall well-being. Education and awareness play a vital role in ensuring optimal treatment outcomes and improving quality of life. Aim: This study aims to determine the knowledge and attitudes of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) pre-clinical dentistry students concerning orthodontic therapy. Methodology: This research is a quantitative descriptive cross-sectional study. The research used a non-random convenience sampling method to form the desired sample. For data collection, an interview-administered questionnaire was used over one month. The study set its sights on pre-clinical dental students in KNUST. A total of 150 questionnaires were printed to meet the sample size. Results: The results of the research showed that the knowledge level of KNUST pre-clinical students on orthodontic treatment and its nuances is quite limited. They however had a fair level of knowledge on the disease or ailment that orthodontic treatments solved (especially malocclusion). Their interest in orthodontic treatments on the other hand was quite significant, with a large number having interest in it. Conclusion: To conclude, KNUST pre-clinical students in Ghana although having a limited level of knowledge on orthodontic treatments have a keen interest in undergoing them regardless of the discomforts or the length of time.

Studies on L2 Learning Motivation of Primary and Middle School Students from the Perspective of L2 Motivational Self System

An empirical survey among 219 school students in the framework of L2 Motivational Self System found that Ideal L2 Self,Ought-to L2 Self and L2 Learning Experience in the System make different contributions to L2 motivation respectively and L2 Learning Experience is the largest contributor to L2 motivation for primary and middle school students.The pedagogical implications are also suggested.

Internet: A Fresh Motivation to EFL Students?—— Does It Motivate EFL Students

This paper explores the hypothesis that using a computer network for real - synchronous discussion has noticeable effects on EFL students’ motivation language learning. Three motives emerge from the students’ responses to a survey:chatting on the Internet provides an opportunity for "real" communication; it improves personal confidence. It encourages students to overcome writing apprehension. Further analysis proves the hypothesis to a certain extent.

Entrepreneurship training:its influences on innovation potentials among nursing students

Objective:To evaluate the influences of entrepreneurship training on the innovation potential among nursing students.Methods:A quasi-experimental design was utilized to conduct this study.The study was conducted in the classroom at the faculty of nursing,and the“i Hub”center at Ain Shams University(ASU)in Cairo,Egypt.A purposive sample of 42 nursing students who participated in the“Ain Shams University-innovate”competition from the Faculty of Nursing of ASU were included in this study.Data collection tools included(1)Nursing students'innovation skills assessment questionnaire and(2)Innovative projects evaluation tool.Results:There was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of nursing students'total innovation skills pre-and post-implementation of entrepreneurship training,where P-value<0.05.Conclusions:The results of the current study support the research hypothesis because the implementation of entrepreneurship training positively affects nursing students'innovation potential.Developing entrepreneurship education in nursing and integrating it into nursing programs will stimulate creativity,innovation,and entrepreneurship among nursing students and health care services.

How to Stimulate College Students' English Learning Motivation

Motivation to language learning is a complex set of variables including effort, desire to achieve goals, as well as attitudes toward the learning of the language. Individuals' motivation to second-language learning also includes their motivation orientations, interest in the second language, attitudes toward the second-language group, attitudes toward the second-language learning situations and second-language anxiety. Based on the basic theories and approaches, teaching activities are part of motivation in English classes. The teacher of language should have a good influence on students and develop students' keen interest in study in order to strengthen their intrinsic motivation, and set up some new goals for students to pursue and give the feedback to reinforce their inner drive and confidence. Thus, students will become major conductors, make full use of their potentials and enhance their study results.

The Procedure of an International Student Studying Abroad:A Case Study

As it is examined and concluded by many researchers,studying abroad has been common when students are trying to receive higher quality education.Cross-cultural adjustment is also regarded as a compulsory term to consider,and the way to get involved in the host culture has also been deeply investigated in this procedure.Therefore,this paper aims at identifying the factors that cause cultural barriers,as well as finding solutions to cope with them.In this study,a case study research method is employed and the result will be beneficial to support future research in similar fields.

A Discussion on How to Increase EFL Learning Motivation of Vocational School Students in China

This paper discusses how to increase EFL learning motivation of vocational school students in China.To begin with,the author gives a brief introduction to the problem concerned,followed by the literature review focusing on intrinsic motivation,extrinsic motivation and achievement motivation.Then,five solutions on how to increase students’ learning motivation is elaborated in detail.Finally,the author gets the conclusion that it is up to the cooperation between students and their teachers to achieve the goal of enhancing students’ learning motivation.

Affect of Motivation on First-and Second-year English L1 Chinese Language Students

Taking Chinese learners of English L1 students at Colorado State University of USA as subjects,the study explored the effect of motivation on American Chinese language learners learning achievement.The researchers find that motivation intensity is an important factor leading to learning success.Both integrative and instrumental factors do not necessary lead to good learning results.Favorable attitudes toward the teacher and course materials do not guarantee good learning achievement.A reasonable level of anxiety helps generate good learning achievement.

Determinants of internet addiction among medical students in Casablanca: a cross-sectional study

Objective:This study aimed to estimate the prevalence and determinants of Internet addiction among medical students at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Casablanca,Morocco.Methods:This was a cross-sectional study conducted among students at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Casablanca between October and March 2020.An online questionnaire was administered to students to collect data and internet addiction was assessed by the Young questionnaire.A score threshold≥50 was adopted to define addiction.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify factors associated with internet addiction.Results:Out of a total of 4093 FMPC students enrolled in the 2020-2021 academic year,506 agreed to participate in this study,including 303 females and 203 males.The mean addiction score assessed on the Young scale was(49.08±16.11).The prevalence of Internet addiction was 44.5%(225/506,95% CI:40% to 49%).Multiple regression analysis showed that being older than 20 years(OR=0.17,95% CI:0.40 to 0.64),being female(OR=1.70,95% CI:1.04 to 2.78),being in the dissertation year(6th year)(OR=5.17,95% CI:2.23 to 11.44),having a history of psychiatric consultation(OR=2.64,95% CI:1.34 to 5.21),having divorced parents(OR=2.64,95% CI:1.05 to 5.87),use of sleeping medication(OR=2.9,95% CI:1.05 to 3.70),sleep disorders(OR=2.06,95% CI:1.25 to 3.79),sleep deprivation(OR=2.26,95% CI:1.39 to 3.65),excessive daytime sleepiness(OR=5.39,95% CI:2.19 to 13.24),anxiety disorders(OR=1.47,95% CI:1.18 to 2.30),duration of internet connection(>4 h)(OR=11.43,95% CI:4.85 to 27.66),and having frequent conflicts with parents(OR=2.37,95% CI:1.49 to 3.79)and friends(OR=0.26,95% CI:0.11 to 0.65)were independently associated with internet addiction.Conclusion:The prevalence of Internet addiction among medical students in Casablanca remains high.Targeted action on the determinants would be of great value in prevention.
