World Health Organization (WHO) estimates these infections to occur among 7% - 12% of the hospital...Introduction: Health care associated infections (HAIs) are likely to be the most common complication of hospital care. World Health Organization (WHO) estimates these infections to occur among 7% - 12% of the hospitalized patients globally, with more than 1.4 million people suffering from infectious complications acquired in the hospital at any time. Keeping this in mind, the present study was conducted to delineate the level of knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) for the use of proper disinfection procedures among the final year undergraduate medical students in a tertiary care hospital and teaching institute. Methodology: Present study was conducted at Government Medical College, Surat, a tertiary care hospital and teaching institute. The participants who gave consent were provided with a pre-tested questionnaire that included several questions on knowledge attitude and practices on hospital acquired infections and its control practices. Analysis of the answers was done based on KAP score. Result: 80 students who consented were included in the study. 75% of the study population had correct knowledge about the most common health care associated infections (HAIs), being infection of venous access, urinary tract infection, respiratory infections and surgical site infections, based on their current knowledge on hospital acquired infections. Majority of study participants agreed with the fact that the inappropriate application of disinfection procedures increases the risk for a health care worker of either acquiring or transmitting a HAI from/to a patient. >90% participants had a good attitude towards risk of getting or transmitting any infectious disease by a Health care worker (HCW) while working and the utility of the application of disinfection procedures during work would reduce the rates of HAI. Practices of the students towards disinfection during performance of certain medical procedures ranged from 10% to 88% of the times showing poor practices of the medical students in following disinfection practices. Conclusion: In the present study the knowledge of medical students for the most common cause of hospital acquired infection was satisfactory. The overall attitude of the students was satisfactory as the mean score was 8. The practices of the students for the application of disinfection during performance of certain medical procedures were also satisfactory, although time to time training and tutorials of these students can help in increasing their knowledge, attitude and practices.展开更多

This study aimed to investigate the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of students at Gaston Berger University of Saint-Louis regarding hepatitis B. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in March 2024 within the university’s social campus among a sample of 800 students. Results: The sex ratio favored men at 1.5, and the average age was 23.3 years with a standard deviation of 2.7 years. Among students, 26.6% had never heard of the term “hepatitis B”, and 60% knew it was a liver disease. Young people and adolescents were identified as the most exposed population group by 52.3% of respondents. According to 53.7% of the sample, hepatitis B would be a curable disease. Furthermore, 95.0% of the surveyed individuals were not vaccinated against hepatitis B, and 36.3% were afraid of living with an infected person. While 63.0% had poor knowledge, 78.8% had negative attitudes, and poor practices were observed in 6.9% of participants. Conclusion: This study highlighted a lack of knowledge and concerning attitudes among students regarding hepatitis B. The results underscore the need to intensify information and awareness campaigns about this disease, as well as the importance of promoting vaccination and encouraging appropriate preventive practices among the student population.展开更多

Material and Methods: This was a qualitative study carried out from Nov...Objective: Study the contribution of the DIVA 3D dissection table in the teaching of anatomy at the Faculty of Medicine and Odontology of Bamako. Material and Methods: This was a qualitative study carried out from November 1 to December 30, 2023 at the clinical and morphological anatomy laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine and Odontostomatology of Bamako. Included in this study were students who participated in practical and tutorial sessions. The variables studied during this study were: the previous performance of dissection on a cadaver by the students, the opinion of the students on dissection on a cadaver, the replacement of dissection on a cadaver by virtual dissection in the absence of a body, the level student satisfaction. Results: We surveyed 130 participants. The average age was 22 ± 0.2 years with extremes of 17 and 29 years. 95.3% of participants were students. According to 66.7% of participants, virtual dissection is a good palliative in the absence of a corpse. 95.3% of participants found using the virtual dissection table easy with an average of 7.88 ± 1.4. The overall assessment was well rated by 99.3% of participants. Conclusion: According to the results of this study, the virtual dissection table should be improved by integrating commented videos. The use of the DIVA 3D virtual dissection table during practical and tutorial sessions is well appreciated by the students. We believe that the teaching of anatomy using 3D digital technology should be included in the study programs of the Faculty of Medicine and Odontostomatology.展开更多

Material and Methods: This was a qualitative study carried out from November 1 to December 30, 2023 at the clinical and morphological anatomy laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine and Odontostomatology of Bamako. Included in this study were students who participated in practical and tutorial sessions. The variables studied during this study were: the previous performance of dissection on a cadaver by the students, the opinion of the students on dissection on a cadaver, the replacement of dissection on a cadaver by virtual dissection in the absence of a body, the level student satisfaction. Results: We surveyed 130 participants. The average age was 22 ± 0.2 years with extremes of 17 and 29 years. 95.3% of participants were students. According to 66.7% of participants, virtual dissection is a good palliative in the absence of a corpse. 95.3% of participants found using the virtual dissection table easy with an average of 7.88 ± 1.4. The overall assessment was well rated by 99.3% of participants. Conclusion: According to the results of this study, the virtual dissection table should be improved by integrating commented videos. The use of the DIVA 3D virtual dissection table during practical and tutorial sessions is well appreciated by the students. We believe that the teaching of anatomy using 3D digital technology should be included in the study programs of the Faculty of Medicine and Odontostomatology.

文摘This paper studies how to effectively improve the English writing skills of college students.It introduces the importance of English writing skills and the current situation,and finds that college students generally have problems such as insufficient vocabulary and frequent grammatical errors;it analyses the advantages and disadvantages of traditional and modern teaching methods,with the traditional method focusing too much on the form,while the modern method may neglect the consolidation of basic knowledge and personalized needs.Effective strategies for university students are proposed,including classroom teaching,personalised instruction and practical activities.In classroom teaching,writing tasks with practical application scenarios are designed and diversified teaching methods are used.In personalised instruction,students’needs are understood and targeted instruction is provided.In practical activities,diverse writing tasks are designed and effective feedback mechanisms are established.Finally,the contributions of the study and future research directions are summarised.
文摘Medical Functional Experiment Science, a bridge between basic medicine and clinical medicine, integrates classical experimental teaching contents of three courses including physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology. This course not only helps students to verify and reinforce theoretical knowledge, but also cultivates their capability of scientific thinking to discover and solve problems. Based on the characteristics of international students and current situation of the teaching platform in the laboratory at Yangtze University, this paper discusses a series of problems in the Medical Functional Experiment Science teaching for international students and puts forward some measures for teaching reform including optimizing experimental content, innovating experimental teaching methods and establishing effective experimental evaluation mode, in order to cultivate more international medical students with innovative ability.

文摘With the rapid development of information technology,smart teaching platforms have become important tools for higher education teaching reform.As a core course of computer science and technology-related majors in higher education,the data structure course lays a solid foundation for students’professional learning and plays an important role in promoting their future success in technology,research,and industry.This study conducts an in-depth analysis of the pain points faced by the data structure course,and explores a teaching reform and practice of integration of theory and practice based on the system application of a smart teaching platform before class,during class,and after class.The reform practice shows that this teaching mode improves students’learning initiative,learning motivation,and practical skills.Students not only achieved better results in knowledge mastery but also significantly improved in problem analysis and solution.

文摘[Objective]From the perspective of multi-dimensional education theory,explore the situation of the concept of“Post-Course-Competition-Certificate”in nursing professional experimental teaching.[Methods]Through investigation and research,collect relevant data on the concept of“Post-Course-Competition-Certificate”in nursing major,including the understanding degree of the concept,the cognition of the role in nursing major learning,the cognition of the importance of each part,the participation degree,practical operation problems and overall satisfaction,etc.[Results]The survey found that the proportion of those who have a deep understanding of the concept of“Post-Course-Competition-Certificate”is low(very understanding 12.45%,relatively understanding 14.16%),and most are at the general level or below;most respondents recognize that this concept has a positive effect on nursing major learning,especially in improving practical ability(80.13%agree);post practice is considered the most important(accounting for 57.02%),but the participation degree in course learning is the highest(65.94%);insufficient practical opportunities(61.81%)and the disconnection between courses and practice(52.39%)are prominent problems in practical operations;on the whole,most respondents have a positive attitude towards this concept(very satisfied 28.82%,relatively satisfied 36.87%),but there are still a small number of dissatisfied people.[Conclusion]The concept of“Post-Course-Competition-Certificate”has important value in nursing major learning,but its popularization degree needs to be improved,and there are many problems in practical operations.When promoting this concept in nursing professional experimental teaching,existing problems should be solved and the needs of a small number of people should be paid attention to so as to improve the overall effect.

文摘The concept of OBE(outcome-based education)is more focused on designing and implementing teaching activities around expected learning outcomes than the traditional teaching model and enhancing the quality of education through clear and measurable learning outcomes,which has led to profound changes in the field of education.However,environmental design practice teaching faces a series of challenges in the implementation of the OBE concept,including the complexity of the assessment system,personalized learning and creative learning,and over-reliance on quantitative assessment.Therefore,in order to further deepen the professionalization of the OBE concept,we have conducted research on the design education practice models at home and abroad,explored the practice teaching models and their applications such as project system,studio model,practical internships,and technology-driven interdisciplinary integration,and took the practice innovative teaching models of Stanford d.school and Rhode Island School of Design(RISD)as examples to explore the characteristics of the curricula,cultivation modes,and the development of the environmental design professional practice teaching model.The characteristics of OBE and RISD are discussed to provide a global vision and local contextual reference for the practice teaching reform of environmental design majors.
文摘The course ROS Robot Programming Practice is designed to equip students with both the foundational principles and practical applications of the Robot Operating System(ROS)through structured instruction and hands-on exercises.This paper summarizes the course’s pedagogical approach and the insights gained from its implementation,focusing on key areas such as the practical teaching platform,instructional system,teaching methods,and evaluation mechanisms.The practical teaching platform incorporates robotic arms and mobile robots,along with commonly used sensors,to engage students and stimulate their interest in robotics.A well-structured teaching system is employed,guiding students through a series of experiments-ranging from basic tasks to modeling and simulation experiments,sensor experiments,mobile robot tasks,robotic arm exercises,and comprehensive project practices.Regarding teaching methods,a blended learning approach and progressive instructional model are utilized to ensure active student participation.This approach follows a logical progression,starting with fundamental ROS knowledge,advancing to robot applications,and culminating in comprehensive project-based practice.In terms of evaluation,a dual approach combining process and outcome assessments is employed,ensuring that students’performance is evaluated comprehensively through various metrics.
文摘In recent years,frequent conflicts between doctors and patients have attracted widespread attention from various sectors of society.The reasons for the tense doctor-patient relationship involve three major factors,namely social,medical,and patient factors.In the process of building social harmony,the people’s demand for daily health knowledge and basic medical security is increasing day by day.Among them,medical humanities quality education plays a particularly important role in building a harmonious doctor-patient relationship.Strengthening the humanities quality education of medical students and creating a harmonious doctor-patient environment can better improve the tense doctor-patient relationship and reduce the occurrence of doctor-patient conflicts,ultimately promoting social stability.This requires medical schools not only to cultivate medical students’clinical diagnosis and treatment abilities,but also to enhance their humanistic qualities,strengthen medical humanities education,and face the requirements of medical development and the task of Healthy China.It is of great significance to improve the humanities quality education program for medical students.This article aims to explore the status quo of humanities quality education in clinical teaching for medical students and propose countermeasures to address the issues.

文摘Objective:To explore the impact of psychological counseling for underage medical students in clinical teaching.Methods:24 of the 48 underage medical students who were interned in our hospital from March 2023 to February 2024 were randomly selected to adopt the teaching management method of one-on-one psychological guidance as the observation group;the remaining 24 adopted the traditional teaching management method as the control group.The observation of the effects of psychological detachment on various aspects of underage medical students allows the determination of whether psychological detachment impacts clinical teaching.Results:The observation group’s theoretical examination scores,skill assessment scores,and departmental performance evaluation scale score excellence rate were higher than the control group’s,with P<0.05 being statistically significant.At the same time,the clinical teaching and teaching management ability of the hospital was also improved.Conclusion:Psychological guidance for underage medical students can not only improve the comprehensive quality of medical students but also improve the teaching level,which is conducive to improving the teaching effect,and it is a clinical teaching mode worth promoting.

文摘With the continuous expansion of medical student enrollment,the number of clinical teaching bases is gradually increasing.However,there are significant differences in clinical teaching management models and teaching levels among different bases.Most clinical teaching bases have incomplete teaching management systems,inadequate teaching management institutions,insufficient teaching personnel,and inadequate implementation of teaching rules and regulations.This article combines the construction practice of three-level clinical teaching base of the General Medicine College and the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Medical University.We establish a standardized management system for the three-level clinical teaching base;implement a teaching supervision system and strengthen the monitoring of teaching quality;adopt multiple evaluations to test the effectiveness of clinical teaching implementation;explore the path of homogenization construction of teaching bases in terms of unified teacher training,promoting the development of teacher teaching abilities with equal quality and excellence,and providing a reference for improving the quality of medical talent training.
