This paper takes the sub-domain interconnection symmetrical topologi- cal network for a typical example to calculate the network reliability index and verifies the correctness of the proposed algorithm us- ing the real measured statistical data. The real measured results are well in accordance with the results obtained by the proposed algorithm. The result shows that the proposed algorithm is a valid means to estimate the reliability index of a sub-domain intercon- nection large-scale communication network.展开更多
The interconnection of Solar PV to the Tarkwa Bulk Supply Point (BSP) has become necessary in order to provide additional capacity to meet the ever-increasing demand of Tarkwa and its environs during the day. The Sola...The interconnection of Solar PV to the Tarkwa Bulk Supply Point (BSP) has become necessary in order to provide additional capacity to meet the ever-increasing demand of Tarkwa and its environs during the day. The Solar PV Plant will support the Tarkwa BSP during the day. In this study, a grid impact analysis for the integration of Solar PV plant at three points of common coupling (PCC) at Tarkwa Bulk Supply Point’s (BSP) 33 kV network of the Electricity Company of Ghana was carried out. The three PCCs were Tarkwa BSP, Ghana Australia Gold (GAG) Substation and Darmang Substation. Simulations and detailed analysis were carried out with the use of CYME Software (Cyme 8.0 Rev 05). The Solar PV was integrated at varying penetration levels of 9 MWp, 11 MWp, 14 MWp, 16 MWp, 18 MWp, 20 MWp and 23 MWp (representing penetration levels of 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90% and 100%, respectively) of the 2020 projected light demand of Tarkwa BSP 25.15 MVA network at an average power factor of 0.903. From the study, the optimum capacity of Solar PV power that could be connected is 9 MWp at an optimum inverter power factor of 0.94 lagging, and the GAG Substation was identified as the optimal location. The stiffness ratio at the optimal location was determined as 41.9, a figure which is far greater than the minimum standard value of 5, and gives an indication of very little voltage control problems in the operation of the proposed Solar PV interconnection. The integration of the optimum 9 MW Solar PV Plant to the Tarkwa network represents an additional 12.77% capacity, decreased the technical losses by 7.76%, and increased the voltage profile by 1.97%.展开更多

We propose the correct definition of the sample and sampling rate in network...In the recent research of network sampling, some sampling concepts are misunderstood, and the variance of subnets is not taken into account. We propose the correct definition of the sample and sampling rate in network sampling, as well as the formula for calculating the variance of subnets. Then, three commonly used sampling strategies are applied to databases of the connecting nearest-neighbor(CNN) model, random network and small-world network to explore the variance in network sampling. As proved by the results, snowball sampling obtains the most variance of subnets, but does well in capturing the network structure. The variance of networks sampled by the hub and random strategy are much smaller. The hub strategy performs well in reflecting the property of the whole network, while random sampling obtains more accurate results in evaluating clustering coefficient.展开更多

The NCEP (National Centres for Environmental Prediction) oper...The key factors of temporal and spatial resolution for typhoon observation played an important role in the design of radiometer used for observing typhoon. The NCEP (National Centres for Environmental Prediction) operational global analysis data prepared operationally every six hours were used as the initial field for mesoscale weather research and forecasting model (WRF) and drove the model to output atmospheric parameters such as hydrometeor content, temperature and humidity profiles at different time, which were inputs for the Atmospheric Radiative Transfer Simulator (ARTS) to calculate brightness temperature observed from geostationary earth orbit at oxygen absorption and water absorption band. The atmospheric humidity and temperature profiles of typhoon domain were retrieved from geostationary sub-millimetre atmospheric sounder. The results show that the profile retrievals using BP-NN algorithm have a best agreement with those from radiosonde, which is less than 20% and 1 K of root mean square error, respectively. For precipitation rate retrievals, much better agreement with rain gauge and ECMWF datasets, the RMS is between 0.84 to 32.4 mm/h for sea surface 0.89 and 36.13 mm/h for land surface according to the classification by precipitation type.展开更多

In this paper, a new topology suitable for AC/D...The AC/DC hybrid distribution network is one of the trends in distribution network development, which poses great challenges to the traditional distribution transformer. In this paper, a new topology suitable for AC/DC hybrid distribution network is put forward according to the demands of power grid, with advantages of accepting DG and DC loads, while clearing DC fault by blocking the clamping double sub-module(CDSM) of input stage. Then, this paper shows the typical structure of AC/DC distribution network that is hand in hand. Based on the new topology, this paper designs the control and modulation strategies of each stage, where the outer loop controller of input stage is emphasized for its twocontrol mode. At last, the rationality of new topology and the validity of control strategies are verified by the steady and dynamic state simulation. At the same time, the simulation results highlight the role of PET in energy regulation.展开更多
