REE geochemical characteristics of the magmatic rocks and gold deposits in Shizishan ore-field of Tongling were studied. Three types of the magmatic rocks have almost the same chondrite-normalized REE patterns, Eu and Ce anomalous values, and ∑REE, ∑LREE/∑HREE regular changes, which indicates that their magmas come from the same source and their digenetic mechanism is fractional crystallization. In three gold deposits, the mineral ores and related altered rocks have similar chondrite-normalized REE patterns and sharp Eu positive anomalous values. The REE contents reduced from the magmatic rocks to skamization or alteration magmatic rocks, skam type ores, sulphide type ores, wall-rocks limestone or marble. The REE geochemical characteristics of the ores and related rocks show that primary fluids originated from magmatic differentiation in lower pressure of shallow crust, ore-forming hydrothermal solutions gained REE and mineralization elements further from leaching the magmatic rocks, then superimposed and reformed the limestones or marbles and deposited ore-forming material. 展开更多

Most gold deposits in intrusive rocks were formed as a result of reworking processes. The intrusive rocks containing gold deposits and consisting of ultramafic-mafic, intermediate-acid and alkaline rocks of the Archean, Proterozoic, Caledonian, Hercynian and Yenshanian periods occur in cratons, activated zones of cratons and fold belts. Among them, ultramafic-mafic rocks, diorite, alkaline rocks, and anorthosite are products of remelting in the mantle or mantle-crust or mantle with crustal contamination. However, auriferous intermediate-acid rocks are products of metasomatic-remelting in auriferous volcanic rocks or auriferous volcano-sedimentary rocks in the deep crust. 展开更多

The Xiaotongjiapuzi gold deposit occurs in a Palaeoproterozoic rift accretionary terrane in eastern Liaoning and is hosted by a carbonate formation of the Dashiqiao Formation, Liaohe Group. The metamorphic grade of the host rock is low amphibolite-high greenschist facies. Gold, which is mainly invisible, is distributed in pyrite and arsenopyrite. The grains of Au-bearing sulphide minerals are fine, ranging from 0.0 n to 1 mm. The wall-rock alterations are characterized by low-temperature silification, hydro-sericitization, sericitization and carbonatization. The homogenization temperatures of the fluid inclusions in quartz closely associated with gold mineralization range from 140 to 240°C. The metallogenic age represented by the Ar-Ar isotopic age of sericite is 167 Ma. Comparisons and studies show that the Xiaotongjiapuzi gold deposit can be classified as the submicron-sized disseminated deposit (analogous to the Carlin-type) hosted in metamorphic rocks. 展开更多

Calculations based on the available thermodynamic data of AuCl2^- and Au(HS)2^- indicate that AuCl2^- is responsible for the transport and enrichment of gold during the stage of pre-concentration in the source bed while Au(HS)2^- is the main gold species involved in the formation of gold deposits in response to hydrothermal reworking .Acid chloride solutions with αcl^->10° and sulfur-rich solutions with a∑s in excess of 10^-2 are held as important criteria for gold enrichment in the source bed and for the formation of gold deposits by subsequent hydrothermal event, respectively. 展开更多

Fluid inclusion studies of 5 gold deposits connected with alkaline rocks show that quartz separated from auriferous quartz veins contains abundant three\|phase CO\-2\|NaCl\|H\-2O inclusions and two\|phase CO\-2\|dominated ones, measuring 5-20μm in diameter. Homogenization temperatures of the fluid inclusions are mostly within the range of 150-300℃, and the salinities, mainly 0.2wt%-12 wt%(NaCl). Gold mineralizations occurred at depths of 1.4-2.8 km. The most striking character of fluid composition is that among the cations, Na\++ is dominant, followed by K\++, Ca\+\{2+\}; among the anions, Cl\+- is slightly higher than SO\+\{2-\}\-4. In the evaporate, H\-2O is dominant, followed by CO\-2. The pH values are mainly within the range of 6.5-8.5,indicating that the ore\|forming solutions are alkaline in nature. The hydrogen and oxygen isotopic ratios indicate that the ore fluid is composed mainly of magmatic water. With the dropping of temperature in the ore fluid, the contents of CO\-2 decreased while the salinity increased. The relations between Au and other components of the ore fluid are discussed in the paper, and it is concluded that in these deposits, chlorides, H\-2S, SiO\-2,CO\-2 , etc. in the fluid all are involved in the migration and concentration of Au. 展开更多

The middle south parts of Tancheng Lujiang deep fault zone and its vicinity are an important locality of Cu Au deposits related to Mesozoic volcanic subvolcanic magmatism in eastern China. According to their metallogenic features and ore forming conditions, copper gold deposits in this district are ascribed to two groups: the epithermal group which can be further divided into tellurium gold type, quartz adularia type and quartz manganoansiderite type; the magmatic hydrothermal group which includes porphyry Cu Au deposit, breccia pipe porphyry type Au Cu deposit and skarn type Au Cu deposit. In this paper, characteristics of six typical shoshonite hosted Cu Au deposits are outlined. Additionally, the factors that control the metallogenesis and distribution of these Cu Au deposits are discussed preliminarily. 展开更多

Through a detailed study of the abundances and spatial-temporal distribution patterns of Te,Bi,As,Se,Cu,Pb,Zn,Au,and Ag in the rock types of different geological epochs in the Dashuigou independent tellurium deposit, and in combination with other research findings of previous researchers in this area, the authors conclude as follows:Abundances of the main ore-forming elements Te,Bi,As,Se,Au,and Ag are not high in the regional geological background, generally lower or close to their respective crustal Clark values, but almost all altered country rocks contain high levels of ore-forming elements. This indicates that the deposit’s ore-forming elements do not come from the country rocks. This also indicates that the geological thermal events that cause alteration and mineralization originate from depths and may be related to mantle plumes.Considering the distribution pattern of these ore-forming elements in the ore bodies’hanging wall and footwall, the metallogenic mechanism may be as follows:Mineralization is not achieved through lateral secretion in the horizontal or near horizontal direction, but rather through the upward movement and emplacement of deep ore-forming elements driven by geological processes such as mantle plumes. In addition, the migration of deep ore-forming elements is not achieved through dispersed infiltration between overlying rock particles, but through non widespread concentrated penetrating channels. This type of channel is likely to be the expansion structures where faults from different directions intersect,or where linear faults intersect with circular structures. 展开更多

The organic matter of three different chronological major carbonaceous rock gold-bearing formations of South China (Middle Proterozoic Shangqiaoshan group of northeastern Jiangxi, Lower Cambrian Shuikou group of northern Guangxi and Devonian Shetianqiao group of eastern Hunan) and related carbonaceous stratabound gold deposits such as Jinshan, Longshui and Shixia deposits, respectively, has been characterized by organic geochemical techniques. These organic geochemical results show that the average total organic carbon (TOC) content of the three chronological carbonaceous rock gold-bearing formations of South China ranges from 0.15% to 1.56%. The thermal maturity of the organic matter of host rocks in the three gold-bearing formations is high. The micro-component of the organic matter of the host rocks consists primarily of solid bitumen and graphite. The organic carbon and gold of the host rocks appear to syndepositin situ during the formation of the gold-bearing formations. The organic carbon played a certain role in controlling the geochemical environment of the gold-bearing formations. The metallogenetic mechanism of the carbonaceous rock stratabound gold deposits of South China is closely associated in genesis with the sedimentation, diagenesis and thermal evolution history of the organic matter of host rocks in the gold-bearing formations. 展开更多

There are three types of gold deposits in the Jiaodong gold metallogenetic domain. The strata\|bound gold deposits are a new type, which occur in a hydrocarbon\|gold double\|source bed enriched in gold (Au 174 ng/g) and organic carbon (0.007%-4.225%). At diagenetic and hydrothermal stages water and oil were simultaneously activated and the strata\|bound gold deposits were formed from interactions between water, oil and rocks. In the late Yanshanian period, gold orebodies were enriched and enlarged in response to tectonomagmatism and action of complex ore\|forming hydrothermal solutions. As a result, it is highly expected to find suparlarge gold deposits and the Yanzi area is expected to be a perspective target area. 展开更多

The Changkeng gold-silver deposits consist of a sediment-hosted, disseminated gold deposit and a replacement-type silver deposit. The mineralizations of gold and silver are zoned and closely related to the silicification of carbonate and clastic rocks, so that siliceous ores dominate in the deposit. The mineralizing temperature ranges mainly from 300 to 170℃, and K+, Na+, Ca2+, Mg2+, and Cl- are the major ions in the ore-forming fluid. Calculations of distribution of metal complexes show that gold is mainly transported by hydrosulphide complexes, but chloride complexes of silver, iron, lead, and zinc, which are transformed into hydroxyl and hydrosulphide complexes under neutral to weak-alkaline circumstances in the late stage, predominate in the ore-forming solutions. Water-rock interaction is confirmed to be the effective mechanism for the formation of silver ores by computer modelling of reaction of hydrothermal solution with carbonate rocks. The solubility analyses demonstrate that the precipitation of gold and silver-bearing minerals taking place under weak-acid conditions and near-neutral to weak-alkaline conditions, respectively, is the main or favourable factor for the ore zonation and separation between gold and silver. 展开更多

The Jinshan gold deposit is located in the Northeast Jiangxi province,South China, which related to the ductile shear zone.It contains two ore types,i.e.the alteration-type ore and the goldbearing quartz vein ore.Rb-Sr age dating is applied to both gold-bearing pyrite in the alteration-type ore and fluid inclusion in the gold-bearing quartz vein to make clear the time of the gold mineralization of the Jinshan deposit.Analytical results of this study yielded that the age of the alteration-type ore bodies is about 838±110Ma,with an initial 87Sr/86Sr value of 0.7045±0.0020.However,the age of the gold-bearing quartz vein-type ore is about 379±49Ma,and the initial 87Sr/86Sr is 0.7138±0.0011.Based on the age data from this work and many previous studies, the authors consider that the Jinshan gold deposit is a product of multi-staged mineralization, which may include the Jinninian,Caledonian,Hercynian, and Yanshanian Periods.Among them, the Jinninian Period and the Hercynian Period might be the two most important ore-forming periods for Jinshan deposit. The Jinninian Period is the main stage for the formation of alteration-type ore bodies, while the Hercynian Period is the major time for ore bodies of gold-bearing quartz vein type. The initial values of the 87Sr/86Sr from this study,as well as the previous isotope and trace element studies, indicate that the ore-forming materials mainly derived from the metamorphic wall rocks, and the ore-forming fluids mainly originated from the deep metamorphic water. 展开更多

Granular calcite is an authigenic mineral in fine-grained sedimentary rocks.Core observation, thin section observation, cathodoluminescence analysis, fluid inclusion analysis, scanning electron microscope(SEM),and isotopic composition analysis were combined to clarify the genesis of granular calcite in the lacustrine fine-grained sedimentary rocks of the Permian Lucaogou Formation in the Jimusar Sag,Junggar Basin. It is found that the granular calcite is distributed with laminated characteristics in fine-grained sedimentary rocks in tuffite zones(or the transitional zone between tuffite and micritic dolomite).Granular calcite has obvious cathodoluminesence band, and it can be divided into three stages.Stage-Ⅰ calcite, with non-luminesence,high content of Sr element, inclusions containing Cos,and homogenization temperature higher than 170℃,was directly formed from the volcanic-hydrothermal deposition.Stage-Ⅱ calcite, with bright yellow luminescence, high contents of Fe,Mn and Mg,enrichment of light rare earth elements(LREEs),and high homogenization temperature, was formed by recrystallization of calcareous edges from exhalative hydrothermal deposition.Stage-IlI calcite, with dark orange luminescence band, high contents of Mg,P,V and other elements,no obvious fractionation among LREEs,and low homogenization temperature, was originated from diagenetic transformation during burial. The granular calcite appears regularly in the vertical direction and its formation temperature decreases from the center to the margin of particles, providing direct evidences for volcanic-hydrothermal events during the deposition of the Lucaogou Formation. The volcanic-hydrothermal event was conducive to the enrichment of organic matters in fine-grained sedimentary rocks of the Lucaogrou Formation, and positive to the development of high-quality source rocks. The volcanic-hydrothermal sediments might generate intergranular pores/fractures during the evolution, creating conditions for the self-generation and self-storage of shale oil. 展开更多

The composition of quartz inclusions and trace elements in ore indicate that gold\|bearing fluid in the Xiadian gold deposit, Shandong Province, stemmed from both mantle and magma, belonging to a composite origin. Based on theoretical analysis and high temperature and high pressure experimental studies, gold\|bearing fluid initiative localization mechanism and the forming environment of ore\|host rocks are discussed in the present paper. The composite fluid extracted gold from rocks because of its expanding and injecting forces and flew through ore\|conducive structures, leading to the breakup of rocks. The generation of ore\|host faults and the precipitation of gold\|bearing fluid occurred almost simultaneously. On the basis of results of the studies of primary fluid inclusions, and the hydrogen and oxygen isotope data, the authors concluded that the early-stage ore-forming fluid from the Jinchangqing gold (copper) ore deposit is a kind of sulfate type hot brine characterized by medium temperature and salinity, genetically related to the late-stage ore-forming fluid derived from an acidic and more reductive environment. However, the late-stage ore-forming fluid is a sort of low temperature and low salinity chloride-type hot brine which originated from a lower pressure, acidic and more oxidative environment. In general, the ore fluids were derived from the late-stage, or largely from the early-stage groundwater-derived meteoric water, which has a 12‰-17‰ heavier oxygen isotopic composition than the original rain water (δ{}+{18}O={-15.3‰}), and were formed during gold mineralization as a product of oxygen isotope exchange during the reaction between ore-forming fluid and wall rocks under a lower water/rock ratio condition. 展开更多

Granite and fine-gra ined diorite dikes in the ore deposit were altered by metallogenic fluid. Based on the altered zoning, the samples of petrochemistry were collected and major an d trace elements were analyzed systematically. Calculation of rock mass balance shows that the major elements (SiO 2, K 2O, P 2O 5, Fe 2O 3) in the two ty pical altered rocks are clearly added into the altered system, and that trace el ements (V, Y, Zr, Ni, Co, Sr) assume an increasing and decreasing tendencies in the altered granite and altered diorite dike, respectively.
