Automatic extraction of the patient’s health information from the unstructured data concerning the discharge summary remains challenging.Discharge summary related documents contain various aspects of the patient heal...Automatic extraction of the patient’s health information from the unstructured data concerning the discharge summary remains challenging.Discharge summary related documents contain various aspects of the patient health condition to examine the quality of treatment and thereby help improve decision-making in the medical field.Using a sentiment dictionary and feature engineering,the researchers primarily mine semantic text features.However,choosing and designing features requires a lot of manpower.The proposed approach is an unsupervised deep learning model that learns a set of clusters embedded in the latent space.A composite model including Active Learning(AL),Convolutional Neural Network(CNN),BiGRU,and Multi-Attention,called ACBMA in this research,is designed to measure the quality of treatment based on discharge summaries text sentiment detection.CNN is utilized for extracting the set of local features of text vectors.Then BiGRU network was utilized to extract the text’s global features to solve the issues that a single CNN cannot obtain global semantic information and the traditional Recurrent Neural Network(RNN)gradient disappearance.Experiments prove that the ACBMA method can demonstrate the effectiveness of the suggested method,achieve comparable results to state-of-arts methods in sentiment detection,and outperform them with accurate benchmarks.Finally,several algorithm studies ultimately determined that the ACBMA method is more precise for discharge summaries sentiment analysis.展开更多

The guidelines for nutritional screening of head-and-neck cancer patients were systematically searched and screened from BMJ Best Practice,National Comprehensive Cancer Network,Britain's National Institute for Hea...The guidelines for nutritional screening of head-and-neck cancer patients were systematically searched and screened from BMJ Best Practice,National Comprehensive Cancer Network,Britain's National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence,National Guideline Clearinghouse,Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network,Guidelines International Network,New Zealand Guidelines Group,Australian National Health and Medical Research Council,Medlive,PubMed,Embase,CINAHL,China Biology Medicine,VIP,Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure,and Wanfang.Four researchers evaluated the quality of the included literature and extracted evidence from the literature that met the quality standards.Finally,a total of six guidelines were included and ten best evidences were concluded.As only one guideline in this study is from China,and the rest are from other countries,the applicability and effectiveness of some evidence in the Chinese population still need to be further explored and studied.Therefore,when using evidence,medical staff should make appraisal on working environment in their hospital,factors that facilitate or hinder the use of evidence,and willingness of patients,and thus scientifically provide the best evidence for the management of clinical nutrition for head-and-neck cancer patients and provide a reference for the establishment of the standard process of nutritional screening for head-and-neck cancer patients.展开更多

Automatically extracting useful se- mantic information and generating highlight summary from sports video to facilitate users’ accessing requirements is an important problem, especially in the forthcoming broadband mobile communication and the need for users to access their multimedia in- formation of interest from anywhere at anytime with their most convenient digital equipments. In this paper, a system to generate highlight summaries oriented for mobile applications is introduced, which includes highlight extraction and video adaptation. In this system, several highlight extraction techniques are provided for field sports video and racket sports video by using multi-modal information. To enhance users’ viewing experience and save bandwidth, 3D animation from highlight segment is also generated. As an important procedure to make video analysis results universally applicable, video transcoding techniques are applied to adapt the video for mobile communication environment and user preference. Experimental results are encouraging and show the advantage and feasibility of the system for multimedia content personalization, enhancement and adaptation to meet different user preference and network/device requirements.展开更多
A nursing care planning system that automatically generated nursing summaries from information entered into the Psychiatric Outcome Management System (PSYCHOMS?, Tanioka et al.), was developed to enrich the content of...A nursing care planning system that automatically generated nursing summaries from information entered into the Psychiatric Outcome Management System (PSYCHOMS?, Tanioka et al.), was developed to enrich the content of nursing summaries at psychiatric hospitals, thereby reducing the workload of nurses. Preparing nursing summaries entails finding the required information in nursing records that span a long period of time and then concisely summarizing this information. This time consuming process depends on the clinical experience and writing ability of the nurse. The system described here automatically generates the text data needed for nursing summaries using an algorithm that synthesizes patient information recorded in electronic charts, the Nursing Care Plan information or the data entered for North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA) 13 domains with predetermined fixed phrases. Advantages of this system are that it enables nursing summaries to be generated automatically in real time, simplifies the process, and permits the standardization of useful nursing summaries that reflect the course of the nursing care provided and its evaluation. Use of this system to automatically generate nursing summaries will allow more nursing time to be devoted to patient care. The system is also useful because it enables nursing summaries that contain the required information to be generated regardless of who prepares them.展开更多
