The concentration dependence of SERS from crystal violet (CV) molecules adsorbed to silver film was systematically studied. When the temperature of the aqueous medium increases from 20℃ to 50℃,the localized surface plasmon resonance( LSPR) band of the entrapped Au @ Ag NR is pronouncedly red-shifted because of the decreased spatial distances between them as a result of shrinkage of the microgels, leading to their plasmonic coupling. The temperature tunable plasmonic coupling is demonstrated by temperature dependence of the surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy( SERS) signal of 1-naphthol in aqueous solution. Different from static plasmonic coupling modes from nanostructured assembly or array system of noble metals, the proposed plasmonic coupling can be dynamically controlled by environmental temperature. Therefore, the thermo responsive hybrid microgels have potential applications in mobile LSPR or SERS microsensors for living tissues or cells.展开更多

The gold nanorod surface exhibits a strong enhancing effect on Raman scattering spectroscopy. The enhancement of Raman scattering for two model molecules (2-naphthalenethiol and rhodamine 6C) is about 5-6 orders of magnitude. By changing the aspect ratio of the Au nanorods, we found that the enhancement factors decreased with the increase of aspect ratios. The observed Raman scattering enhancement is strong and should be ascribed to the surface plasmon coupling between closely packed nanorods, which may result in huge local electromagnetic field enhancements in those confined junctions.展开更多

The configuration of water at the ionic liquid/electrode interface and the relationship between the potential of zero charge (pzc) and the molar frac- tion of water were deduced through the changes in the vibrational frequency of OH stretching mode. A small Stark effect value was determined in the system with lower molar fraction of water. With the increase of the water concentration, the OH stretching vibrational frequency gradually shifted to the high wavenumber region, the pzc was also moved positively, and the Stark effect value of OH stretching vibrational mode increased. It reached about 76 cm-1 V-I in the 1 tool L-1 [BMIM]Br aqueous solution. These differences were mainly contributed by hydrogen bonding and the configuration of water in the ionic liquid solution. In the solution with lower water content, water molecules existed at the interface layer through hydrogen bond- ing with cations, while in the higher content solution, the intermolecular hydrogen bonding between water molecules was strengthened and the possibility of the direct interaction between the water molecule and electrode surface increased.展开更多

文摘The surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS)is a technique for the detection of analytes on the surface with an ultrahigh sensitivity down to the atomic-scale,yet the fabrication of SERS materials such as nanoparticles or arrays of coinage metals often involve multiple complex steps with the high cost and pollution, largely limiting the application of SERS.Here,we report a complex hierarchical metallic glassy(MG)nanostructure by simply replicating the surface microstructure of butterfly wings through vapor deposition technique. The MG nanostructure displays an excellent SERS effect and moreover,a superhydrophobicity and self-cleaning behavior. The SERS effect of the MG nanostructure is attributed to the intrinsic nanoscale structural heterogeneities on the MG surface, which provides a large number of hotspots for the localized electromagnetic field enhancement affirmed by the finite-difference time-domain(FDTD)simulation.Our works show that the MG could be a new potential SERS material with low cost and good durability, well extending the functional application of this kind of material.

文摘Gold nanorods with aspect ratios of from 1 (particles) to 31.6 were synthesized by the seed-mediated method and packed in a highly ordered structure on a large scale on silicon substrates through capillary force induced self-assembly behaviour during solvent evaporation. The observed Raman scattering enhancement is strong and should be ascribed to the surface plasmon coupling between closely packed nanorods, which may result in huge local electromagnetic field enhancements in those confined junctions.

文摘To realize the fast and accurate quantitative analysis of the mixture of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs),surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS)coupled with multivariate calibrations were employed. In this study, three kinds of calibration algorithms were used to quantitative analysis of the mixture of naphthalene(Nap),phenanthrene(Phe),and pyrene(Pyr).Firstly, partial least squares(PLS)algorithm was used to select characteristic variables, then the global search capability of genetic algorithm(GA)was used for the determining of the initial weights and thresholds of back propagation(BP)neural network so that local minima was avoided. The PLS-GA-BP model exhibited superiority to quantify PAHs mixture, which achieved R2=0.9975,0.9710,0.9643,ARE=10.07%,19.28%,16.72%and RMSE=13.10,5.40,5.10 nmol L−1 for Nap,Phe,Pyr(in the PAHs mixture)concentration prediction respectively. The forecast error,ARE and RMSE have been reduced more than 50%and 60%respectively compared with the whole spectral BP model. The study indicates that accurate quantitative spectroscopic analysis of the mixture of PAHs samples can be achieved through the combination of SERS technique and PLS-GA-BP algorithm.

文摘The potential-dependent adsorption behavior of water and ionic liquid was probed by surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) at the Ag electrode surface in the ionic liquids containing water with different concentrations. In the solution with lower water content, water molecules existed at the interface layer through hydrogen bond- ing with cations, while in the higher content solution, the intermolecular hydrogen bonding between water molecules was strengthened and the possibility of the direct interaction between the water molecule and electrode surface increased.

文摘Plasmon coupling is an essential strategy to realize strong local electromagnetic(EM)field which is crucial for high-performance plasmonic devices. In this work, multiple plasmon couplings are demonstrated in three-dimensional(3D)hybrid plasmonic systems composed of polydimethylsiloxane-supported ordered silver nanocone(AgNC)arrays decorated with high-density gold nanoparticles(AuNPs)which are fabricated by a template-assisted physical vapor deposition process.Strong interparticle coupling,particle-film coupling,inter-cone coupling, and particle-cone coupling are revealed by numerical simulations in such composite nanostructures, which produce intense and high-density EM hot spots, boosting highly sensitive and reproducible surface enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)detection with an enhancement factor of-1.74×10^(8).Furthermore,a linear correlation between logarithmic Raman intensity and logarithmic concentration of probe molecules is observed in a large concentration range. These results offer new ideas to develop novel plasmonic devices, and provide alternative strategy to realize flexible and high-performance SERS sensors for trace molecule detection and quantitative analysis.
