Objective:To observe the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)on reducing swelling and pain in patients with mixed hemorrhoids. Methods:Sixty patients with mixed hemorrhoids who were admitted to the Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Qiqihar from January 2023 to January 2024 were selected and divided into two groups. The treatment group(n=30)was treated with mixed hemorrhoid ligation combined with traditional Chinese swelling and pain medicine, and the control group(n=30)was only treated with mixed hemorrhoid ligation. The pain level, edema score, and prognosis of the two groups after the intervention were analyzed. The clinical efficacy was used as the evaluation criterion to compare the clinical effects of different treatment options. Results:After the treatment, the pain score, edema score, and prognostic wound score of the treatment group were all lower than those of the control group(P 0.05).The total clinical effectiveness of the treatment group(100%)was higher than that of the control group(76.67%),(χ^(2)=4.2857,P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of traditional Chinese swelling and pain medicine in treating patients with mixed hemorrhoids effectively reduced the patient’s pain, reduced the degree of wound edema, promoted wound healing, and improved the patient’s prognosis. The curative effect was significant and had a positive impact. 展开更多

As one of the most common forms of skin injuries, skin burns are often accompanied by edema pain, suppuration of infection, slow tissue regeneration, and severe scar formation, which significantly delay wound healing as well as affect the quality of life.We prepared multifunctional electrospun poly(L-lactide-co-glycolide)/gelatin(P/G)-based dressings to synergistically harness the therapeutic benefits of peppermint essential oil(T),burn ointment(B),and Oregano essential oil(O)(P/G@TBO)for skin regeneration in punch and burn injury models. The P/G@TBO can afford the sustained release of bioactive cues for up to 72 h as well as remarkably promote cell migration(ca.P/G@TBO,89%vs.control group,51%)at 24 h.The P/G@TBO membranes also showed significant angiogenic effect as well as antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties than that of the control group in vitro.Moreover,P/G@TBO dressings enabled fast wound healing(ca.P/G@TBO,100%wound closure vs.control group,95%)in a full-thickness excisional defect model up to 14 days in rats.Further evaluation of membranes in different animal models, including tail wagging model, facial itch model, and hot burn injury model showed significant pain relieve effect as well as itching and swelling relief functions during earlier stages of wound healing.Membranes were next transplanted into a scalded wound model in rats and an ear punch wound model in rabbits, which manifested antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and promoted re-epithelialization to achieve scarless wound healing percentage wound closure at day 28:P/G@TBO,96%vs.control group 66%.Taken together our approach of simultaneously harnessing T,B,and O to enable multifunctionality to fibrous dressings may hold great promise for burn wound healing applications and other related disciplines. 展开更多

Objective:To evaluate the clinical therapeutic effect of acupuncture bloodletting therapy on local swelling and pain of snakebite in the patients bitten by snakes. Methods:A total of 106 patients with trimeresurus stejnegeri bite were randomly divided into two groups,a conventional treatment group and a conventional treatment combined with bloodletting therapy group,53 cases in each one.In the conventional treatment group, the convention treatment of western medicine was adopted. In the conventional treatment combined with bloodletting therapy group,on the base of the conventional treatment, bloodletting therapy was applied at Ashi points selected at the tender points around the wound. The intervention and observation were performed not less than 7 days in two groups. Before and after treatment, swelling and pain degrees were measured and remission time of both the limb swelling and pain were recorded in the patients. Results:Compared with the values on day 1 of treatment, swelling degree and visual analogue scale(VAS) score of the upper and lower limbs were all lower on day 3 and day 7 of treatment in the patients of the two groups(all P <0.05).Compared with the conventional treatment group, swelling degree and VAS score of the upper and lower limbs were all lower in the values of the conventional treatment combined with bloodletting therapy group on day 3 and day 7 of treatment respectively(all P <0.05).The remission time of either limb swelling or pain in the patients of the conventional treatment combined with bloodletting therapy group was shorter than the conventional treatment group respectively(both P <0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture bloodletting therapy can effectively relieve the local swelling and pain caused by snakebite, promote the recovery of limb function, shorten the treatment course and improve the clinical therapeutic effect. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Rosai-Dorfman disease(RDD),or sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy,is a benign histiocytic disorder.Extranodal involvement is common, occurring in>40%of patients, but bone involvement occurs in<10%of cases. In addition, primary bone RDD is extremely rare. The majority of patients are adolescents and young adults, and the mean age at onset is 20-years-old.CASE SUMMARY We report an 8-year-old Chinese girl who presented to our hospital with an insidious onset of swelling and pain in the middle shaft of her right tibia for 4 mo.We performed total surgical resection of the right tibia lesion and allograft transplantation.A good prognosis was confirmed at the 6 mo follow-up.Pain and swelling symptoms were totally relieved, range of motion of her right knee and ankle returned to normal, and there was no clinical evidence of lesion recurrence at last follow up.Our case is the second reported case of osseous RDD without lymphadenopathy in the shaft of the tibia of a child.CONCLUSION Extranodal RDD is a rare disease and can be misdiagnosed easily.Lesion resection and allograft transplantation are an option to treat extranodal RDD in children with good short term result.Pediatric orthopedist should be aware of this rare disease, especially extranodal involvement. 展开更多
