Motivated by the recent discovery of high-temperature superconductivity in bilayer La_(3)Ni_(2)O_(7) under pressure,we study its electronic properties and superconductivity due to strong electron correlation.Using the inversion symmetry,we decouple the low-energy electronic structure into block-diagonal symmetric and antisymmetric sectors. It is found that the antisymmetric sector can be reduced to a one-band system near half filling, while the symmetric bands occupied by about two electrons are heavily overdoped individually.Using the strong coupling mean field theory,we obtain strong superconducting pairing with B_(1g)symmetry in the antisymmetric sector. We propose that due to the spin-orbital exchange coupling between the two sectors,B_(1g)pairing is induced in the symmetric bands, which in turn boosts the pairing gap in the antisymmetric band and enhances the high-temperature superconductivity with a congruent d-wave symmetry in pressurized La_(3)Ni_(2)O_(7). 展开更多

We present a short retrospective review of the existing literature about the dynamics of(dry)granular matter under the effect of vibrations. The main objective is the development of an integrated resource where vital information about past findings and recent discoveries is provided in a single treatment.Special attention is paid to those works where successful synthetic routes to as-yet unknown phenomena were identified.Such landmark results are analyzed, while smoothly blending them with a history of the field and introducing possible categorizations of the prevalent dynamics.Although no classification is perfect, and it is hard to distillate general properties out of specific observations or realizations, two possible ways to interpret the existing results are defined according to the type of forcing or the emerging(ensuing)regime of motion. In particular, first results concerning the case where vibrations and gravity are concurrent(vertical shaking)are examined, then the companion situation with vibrations perpendicular to gravity(horizontal shaking)is described.Universality classes are introduced as follows:(1)Regimes where sand self-organizes leading to highly regular geometrical“pulsating”patterns(thin layer case);(2)Regimes where the material undergoes“fluidization”and develops an internal multicellular convective state(tick layers case);(3)Regimes where the free interface separating the sand from the overlying gas changes inclination or develops a kind a patterned configuration consisting of stable valleys and mountains or travelling waves;(4)Regimes where segregation is produced,i.e.,particles of a given size tend to be separated from the other grains(deep containers).Where possible,an analogy or parallelism is drawn with respect to the companion field of fluid-dynamics for which the assumption of“continuum”can be applied. 展开更多

A phoxonic crystal waveguide with the glide symmetry is designed,in which both electromagnetic and elastic waves can propagate along the glide plane at the same time.Due to the glide symmetry, the bands of the phoxonic crystal super-cell degenerate in pairs at the boundary of the Brillouin zone. This is the so-called band-sticking effect and it causes the appearance of gapless guided-modes.By adjusting the magnitude of the glide dislocation the edge bandgaps, the bandgap of the guided-modes at the boundary of the Brillouin zone, can be further adjusted. The photonic and phononic guided-modes can then possess only one mode for a certain frequency with relatively low group velocities, achieving single-mode guided-bands with relatively flat dispersion relationship. In addition, there exists acousto-optic interaction in the cavity constructed by the glide plane. The proposed waveguide has potential applications in the design of novel optomechanical devices. 展开更多

A recently discovered family of kagome lattice materials,AV_(3)Sb_(5)(A=K,Rb,Cs),has attracted great interest, especiallyin the debate over their dominant superconducting pairing symmetry. To explore this issue,we study the superconductingpairing behavior within the kagome-lattice Hubbard model through the constrained path Monte Carlo method. It isfound that doping around the Dirac point generates a dominant next-nearest-neighbor-d pairing symmetry driven by on-siteCoulomb interaction U.However, when considering the nearest-neighbor interaction V,it may induce nearest-neighbor-ppairing to become the preferred pairing symmetry. Our results provide useful information to identify the dominant superconductingpairing symmetry in the AV_(3)Sb_(5)family. 展开更多

Two-dimensional(2D)van der Waals magnetic materials have promising and versatile electronic and magnetic properties in the 2D limit, indicating a considerable potential to advance spintronic applications.Theoretical predictions thus far have not ascertained whether monolayer VCl_(3) is a ferromagnetic(FM)or anti-FM monolayer;this also remains to be experimentally verified. We theoretically investigate the influence of potential factors, including C_(3) symmetry breaking, orbital ordering, epitaxial strain, and charge doping,on the magnetic ground state.Utilizing first-principles calculations,we predict a collinear type-Ⅲ FM ground state in monolayer VCl_(3) with a broken C_(3) symmetry, wherein only the former two of three t_(2g)orbitals(a_(1g),e_(g2)^(π)and e_(g1)^(π))are occupied. The atomic layer thickness and bond angles of monolayer VCl_(3) undergo abrupt changes driven by an orbital ordering switch, resulting in concomitant structural and magnetic phase transitions.Introducing doping to the underlying Cl atoms of monolayer VCl_(3) without C_(3) symmetry simultaneously induces in-and out-of-plane polarizations. This can achieve a multiferroic phase transition if combined with the discovered adjustments of magnetic ground state and polarization magnitude under strain. The establishment of an orbital-ordering driven regulatory mechanism can facilitate deeper exploration and comprehension of magnetic properties of strongly correlated systems in monolayer VCl_(3). 展开更多

Quantum Fisher information is used to witness the quantum phase transition in a non-Hermitian trapped ion system with balanced gain and loss, from the viewpoint of quantum parameter estimation. We formulate a general non-unitary dynamic of any two-level non-Hermitian system in the form of state vector. The sudden change in the dynamics of quantum Fisher information occurs at an exceptional point characterizing quantum criticality. The dynamical behaviors of quantum Fisher information are classified into two different ways which depends on whether the system is located in symmetry unbroken or broken phase regimes. In the phase regime where parity and time reversal symmetry are unbroken, the oscillatory evolution of quantum Fisher information is presented, achieving better quantum measurement precision. In the broken phase regime, quantum Fisher information undergoes the monotonically decreasing behavior. The maximum value of quantum estimation precision is obtained at the exceptional point. It is found that the two distinct kinds of behaviors can be verified by quantum entropy and coherence.Utilizing quantum Fisher information to witness phase transition in the non-Hermitian system is emphasized. The results may have potential applications to non-Hermitian quantum information technology. 展开更多

Nonlinear Hall effect(NLHE)has been detected in various of condensed matter systems.Unlike linear Hall effect,NLHE may exist in physical systems with broken inversion symmetry in crystals. On the other hand, real space spin texture may also break inversion symmetry and result in NLHE.We employ the Feynman diagrammatic technique to calculate non-linear Hall conductivity(NLHC)in three-dimensional magnetic systems. The results connect NLHE with the physical quantity of emergent electrodynamics which originates from the magnetic texture. The leading order contribution of NLHC,χ_(abb),is proportional to the emergent toroidal moment T_(α)^(e),which reflects how the spin textures wind in three dimensions. 展开更多

The exploration of spin symmetry (SS) in nuclear physics has been instrumental in identifying atomic nucleus structures. In this study,we solve the Dirac equation from the relativistic mean field (RMF) in complex momentum representation. We investigated SS and its breaking in single-particle resonant states within deformed nuclei, with a focus on the illustrative nucleus168Er.This was the initial discovery of a resonant spin doublet in a deformed nucleus, with the expectation of the SS approaching the continuum threshold. With increasing single-particle energy, the splitting of the resonant spin doublets widened significantly. This escalating splitting implies diminishing adherence to the SS,indicating a departure from the expected behavior as the energy levels increase. We also analyzed the width of the resonant states, showing that lower orbital angular momentum resonances possess shorter decay times and that SS is preserved within broad resonant doublets,as opposed to narrow resonant doublets.Comparing the radial density of the upper components for the bound-state and resonant-state doublets,it becomes evident that while SS is well-preserved in the bound states,it deteriorates in the resonant states. The impact of nuclear deformation (β_(2)) on SS was examined, demonstrating that an increase in β_(2) resulted in higher energy and width splitting in the resonant spin doublets, which is attributed to increased component mixing.Furthermore, the sensitivity of spin doublets to various potential parameters such as surface diffuseness (a),radius (R),and depth (Σ0) is discussed, emphasizing the role of these parameters in SS.This study provides valuable insights into the behavior of spin doublets in deformed nuclei and their interplay with the nuclear structure, thereby advancing our understanding of SS in the resonance state. 展开更多

The conditions for the emergence of the non-Hermitian skin effect, as a unique physical response of non-Hermitian systems, have now become one of the hot research topics. In this paper, we study the novel physical responses of nonHermitian systems with anomalous time-reversal symmetry, in both one dimension and two dimensions. Specifically, we focus on whether the systems will exhibit a non-Hermitian skin effect. We employ the theory of generalized Brillouin zone and also numerical methods to show that the anomalous time-reversal symmetry can prevent the skin effect in onedimensional non-Hermitian systems, but is unable to exert the same effectiveness in two-dimensional cases. 展开更多

Antiferromagnetic spin fluctuation is regarded as the leading driving force for electron pairing in high-Tc superconductors. In iron-based superconductors, spin excitations at low energy range, especially the spin-resonance mode at ER~5kBTc,are important for understanding the superconductivity. Here,we use inelastic neutron scattering(INS)to investigate the symmetry and in-plane wave-vector dependence of low-energy spin excitations in uniaxial-strain detwinned Fe Se.The low-energy spin excitations(E<10 meV)appear mainly at Q=(±1,0)in the superconducting state(T9K)and the nematic state(T90 K),confirming the constant C_(2) rotational symmetry and ruling out the C_(4) mode at E≈3 meV reported in a prior INS study. Moreover, our results reveal an isotropic spin resonance in the superconducting state, which is consistent with the s±wave pairing symmetry. At slightly higher energy,low-energy spin excitations become highly anisotropic. The full width at half maximum of spin excitations is elongated along the transverse direction. The Q-space isotropic spin resonance and highly anisotropic low-energy spin excitations could arise from dyz intra-orbital selective Fermi surface nesting between the hole pocket aroundΓpoint and the electron pockets centered at MX point. 展开更多

We report a study of the electronic structure of BaFe_(2)As_(2) under uniaxial strains using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and transport measurements. Two electron bands at the MY point, with an energy splitting of 50 meV in the strain-free sample, shift downward and merge into each other under a large uniaxial strain, while three hole bands at theГ point shift downward together. However, we also observed an enhancement of the resistance anisotropy under uniaxial strains by electrical transport measurements, implying that the applied strains strengthen the electronic nematic order in BaFe_(2)As_(2). These observations suggest that the splitting of these two electron bands at the MY point is not caused by the nematic order in BaFe_(2)As_(2). 展开更多

Recent experimental findings have demonstrated the occurrence of superconductivity in Bernal bilayer graphene when induced by a magnetic field. In this study,we conduct a theoretical investigation of the potential pairing symmetry within this superconducting system.By developing a theoretical model,we primarily calculate the free energy of the system with p+ip-wave parallel spin pairing,p+ip-wave anti-parallel spin pairing and d+i d-wave pairing symmetry. Our results confirm that the magnetic field is indeed essential for generating the superconductivity. We discover that the p+ip-wave parallel spin pairing leads to a lower free energy for the system. The numerical calculations of the energy band structure,zero-energy spectral function and density of states for each of the three pairing symmetries under consideration show a strong consistency with the free energy results. 展开更多

The relativistic mean-field approach was implemented in the Lanzhou quantum molecular dynamics transport model(LQMD.RMF). Using the LQMD.RMF, the properties of collective flow and pion production were investigated systematically for nuclear reactions with various isospin asymmetries. The directed and elliptic flows of the LQMD.RMF are able to describe the experimental data of STAR Collaboration. The directed flow difference between free neutrons and protons was associated with the stiffness of the symmetry energy, that is, a softer symmetry energy led to a larger flow difference. For various collision energies, the ratio between the π^(-) and π^(+) yields increased with a decrease in the slope parameter of the symmetry energy. When the collision energy was 270 MeV/nucleon, the single ratio of the pion transverse momentum spectra also increased with decreasing slope parameter of the symmetry energy in both nearly symmetric and neutron-rich systems. However, it is difficult to constrain the stiffness of the symmetry energy with the double ratio because of the lack of threshold energy correction on the pion production. 展开更多

In indirect-driven laser fusion experiments, the movement of the laser absorption layer will distort the radiation uniformity on the capsule. The gold foam has advantages in symmetry control and lowering wall plasma blowoff when used in an inertial confinement fusion(ICF)hohlraum. This work investigates the motion of the laser absorption cutoff position using lowdensity foam gold walls. It is found that the motion of the laser absorption cutoff position can be significantly mitigated through optimal initial low density, tailored to a specific laser shape. For a short square laser pulse, the laser absorption cutoff position remains almost stationary at an initial density of approximately 0.6 g cm^(-3).For a long-shaped laser pulse, the minimal motion of the laser absorption cutoff position is observed at an initial density of about 0.1 g cm^(-3).This approach allows for the adjustment of the symmetry of the hohlraum radiation source. The insights gained from this study serve as a crucial reference for optimizing the hohlraum wall density. 展开更多

The combination of non-Hermitian physics and Majorana fermions can give rise to new effects in quantum transport systems. In this work, we investigate the interplay of PT-symmetric complex potentials, Majorana tunneling and interdot tunneling in a non-Hermitian double quantum dots system. It is found that in the weak-coupling regime the Majorana tunneling has pronounced effects on the transport properties of such a system, manifested as splitting of the single peak into three and a reduced 1/4 peak in the transmission function. In the presence of the PT-symmetric complex potentials and interdot tunneling, the 1/4 central peak is robust against them, while the two side peaks are tuned by them. The interdot tunneling only induces asymmetry, instead of moving the conductance peak, due to the robustness of the Majorana modes. There is an exceptional point induced by the union of Majorana tunneling and interdot tunneling. With increased PT-symmetric complex potentials, the two side peaks will move towards each other. When the exceptional point is passed through, these two side peaks will disappear. In the strong-coupling regime, the Majorana fermion induces a 1/4 conductance dip instead of the three-peak structure. PT-symmetric complex potentials induce two conductance dips pinned at the exceptional point. These effects should be accessible in experiments. 展开更多

Conservative chaotic systems have unique advantages over dissipative chaotic systems in the fields of secure communication and pseudo-random number generator because they do not have attractors but possess good traversal and pseudorandomness. In this work, a novel five-dimensional(5D) Hamiltonian conservative hyperchaotic system is proposed based on the 5D Euler equation. The proposed system can have different types of coordinate transformations and time reversal symmetries. In this work, Hamilton energy and Casimir energy are analyzed firstly, and it is proved that the new system satisfies Hamilton energy conservation and can generate chaos. Then, the complex dynamic characteristics of the system are demonstrated and the conservatism and chaos characteristics of the system are verified through the correlation analysis methods such as phase diagram, equilibrium point, Lyapunov exponent, bifurcation diagram, and SE complexity. In addition, a detailed analysis of the multistable characteristics of the system reveals that many energy-related coexisting orbits exist. Based on the infinite number of center-type and saddle-type equilibrium points, the dynamic characteristics of the hidden multistability of the system are revealed. Then, the National Institute of Standards and Technology(NIST)test of the new system shows that the chaotic sequence generated by the system has strong pseudo-random. Finally, the circuit simulation and hardware circuit experiment of the system are carried out with Multisim simulation software and digital signal processor(DSP) respectively. The experimental results confirm that the new system has good ergodicity and realizability. 展开更多

We explore the gapped graphene structure in the two-dimensional plane in the presence of the Rosen-Morse potential and an external uniform magnetic field. In order to describe the corresponding structure,we consider the propagation of electrons in graphene as relativistic fermion quasi-particles,and analyze it by the wave functions of two-component spinors with pseudo-spin symmetry using the Dirac equation.Next,to solve and analyze the Dirac equation,we obtain the eigenvalues and eigenvectors using the Legendre differential equation. After that,we obtain the bounded states of energy depending on the coefficients of Rosen-Morse and magnetic potentials in terms of quantum numbers of principal n and spin-orbit k.Then, the values of the energy spectrum for the ground state and the first excited state are calculated, and the wave functions and the corresponding probabilities are plotted in terms of coordinates r.In what follows,we explore the band structure of gapped graphene by the modified dispersion relation and write it in terms of the two-dimensional wave vectors K_(x) and K_(y).Finally,the energy bands are plotted in terms of the wave vectors K_(x) and K_(y) with and without the magnetic term. 展开更多

We investigate the electronic structure of NbGeSb with non-symmorphic symmetry. We employ angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy(ARPES)to observe and identify the bulk and surface states over the Brillouin zone.By utilizing high-energy photons,we identify the bulk Fermi surface and bulk nodal line along the direction X–R,while the Fermi surface of the surface state is observed by using low-energy photons. We observe the splitting of surface bands away from the high-symmetry point X.The density functional theory calculations on bulk and 1 to 5-layer slab models,as well as spin textures of NbGeSb,verify that the band splitting could be attributed to the Rashba-like spin–orbit coupling caused by space-inversion-symmetry breaking at the surface. These splitted surface bands cross with each other, forming two-dimensional Weyl-like crossings that are protected by mirror symmetry. Our findings provide insights into the two-dimensional topological and symmetry-protected band inversion of surface states. 展开更多
