The Shicaogou granite has been identified as a magnesian (Fe-number=0.71-0.76), calcic to calc-alkalic (MALI=3.84-5.76) and peraluminous (ASI=1.06-1.13) granite of the syn-collisional S-type, with high SiO2(>71%), ... The Shicaogou granite has been identified as a magnesian (Fe-number=0.71-0.76), calcic to calc-alkalic (MALI=3.84-5.76) and peraluminous (ASI=1.06-1.13) granite of the syn-collisional S-type, with high SiO2(>71%), A12O3 (>13%) and Na2O+K2O (6.28%-7.33%, equal for NaO2 and K2O). Trace element and REE analyses show that the granite is rich in LILE such as of Rb, Sr, Ba and Th, and poor in HFSE like Yb, Y, Zr and Hf. Its Rb/Sr ratio is greater than 1; the contents of Nb and Ta, and the ratio of Nb/Ta as well as the REE geochemical features (e.g. REE abundance, visible fractionation of LREE and HREE and medium to pronounced negative Eu anomalies) are all similar to those of crust-origin, continent-continent syn-collisional granite. Moreover, the granite exhibits almost the same pattern as that of the typical continent-continent syn-collisional granite on the spider diagram and all samples fall within the syn-collisional granite field. The cathodoluminescence (CL) investigations have revealed that the zircon from the Shicaogou granite represents a typical magmatic product characterized by its colorless, transparent and euhedral crystals, and distinct zoning of oscillatory bands. Residual cores of irregular zircon can be found in a few enhedral grains. Trace element studies of the zircon grains, with high contents of P, Y, Hf, Th, U and REE and high ratios of Th/U, obviously positive Ce anomalies and HREE enrichment compared to LREE, also result in the same conclusion. The LA-ICP-MS U-Pb isotopic data from 24 spots of 21 zircon grains demonstrate that 20 spots in the oscillatory zone yield an average weighted 206Pb/238U age of 925±11 Ma, indicating that the Shicaogou granite was formed in the Neoproterozoic. Combined with other Neoproterozoic syn-collisional granites found in the study area, the present geochronological determination can further reveal that collision-amalgamation events could have occurred among some continental blocks in the Qinling orogenic belt during the Neoproterozoic. This in turn provides an accurate chronological constraint on the Neoproterozoic break-up and convergence in the belt. 展开更多

The Tiefosi granitic pluton is located 5 km northwest of Xinyang City, northern Dabie Orogen, and was emplaced in the Proterozoic Qinling Group. SHRIMP zircon U-Pb dating suggests its crystallization at 436 ± 11 Ma. It is composed of monzogranite and syenogranite containing some amounts of muscovite and few mafic minerals. The rocks are characterized by high and restricted SiO2 content, low FeO,Fe2O3 and MgO contents, high K2O/Na2O ratio, and display high-K calc-alkaline and peraluminous (ACNK>1.1) characteristics. They are generally enriched in large ion lithophile elements (LILE) and depleted in high field strength elements (HFSE). They can be divided into three groups in light of rare earth elements (REE) and trace elements. Group I is moderate in ΣREE and characterized by the absence of Eu anom-aly,high (La/Yb)N ratio, and moderate Rb/Sr and Rb/Ba ratios. Group Ⅱ has moderately negative Eu anomaly, low (La/Yb)N ratio and high ΣREE contents,Rb/Sr and Rb/Ba ratios. Group Ⅲ displays positive Eu anomaly, moderate (La/Yb)N ratio, and low ΣREE,Rb/Sr and Rb/Ba ratios. The calculated εNd(440Ma) values of the rocks vary from 8.8 to 9.9 and Nd depleted mantle model ages are about 2.0 Ga,which resemble those of the paragneisses from the Qinling Group. The results indicate that the Tiefosi granite is crust-derived,syn-collisional S-type granite. Generation of Group I was related to low degree melting of the Qinling Group, while Group Ⅱ was formed by fractionational crystallization of plagioclase from Group I magmas, and Group Ⅲ resulted possibly from magma mingling with plagioclase cumulates. The Tiefosi granite was formed within crustal level related to the collision between the North China and South China blocks in the Early Paleozoic time. 展开更多

The Pengshan Sn-polymetallic ore field is located in the southeastern part of the Yangtze block, spanning the southeast edge of the MLYDZ and the northern edge of the mid-segment of the Jiangnan Uplift, and on one side of the MLYDZ.The studies of LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb chronology and petrogeochemistry for Early Cretaceous acid granites from the Pengshan ore field were carried out in this paper. We report zircon U-Pb geochronology and whole-rock geochemistry for acid granites in the Pengshan ore field. The zircon U-Pb ages of the muscovite-granite,biotite adamellite and granite-porphyry are 127.6±1.7 Ma,126.9±1.6 Ma and 126.6±2.0 Ma,respectively. The granites in Pengshan are characterized by a high silicon content and are rich in alkali. They belong to high-potassium,calc-alkaline,peraluminous granite. The rocks have a relatively high Rb/Ba ratio, and the data points for muscovite-granite and biotite adamellite all fall within the clay-rich sources region, near the pelite-derived end-member,showing that the Pengshan muscovite-granite and biotite adamellite mainly originated from the partial melting of metapelites with high maturity. The transformation of the compressional and extensional tectonics in this region approximately 128 Ma obviously lags behind that in the mid-segment of the Jiangnan Uplift(135 Ma),but occurred earlier than the MLYDZ(126 Ma).The Pengshan ore field extends from the mid-segment of the Jiangnan Uplift to the MLYDZ.Although the tectonic stress field is constrained by the combination of the two secondary tectonic units, the time of tectonic system transformation is closer to the MLYDZ because the spatial orientation of the area is enclosed in the MLYDZ.Relevant geophysical and drilling data confirm the rationality of Pengshan-Ao'xia as a multi-center vertical zoning ore field, and show the scientificity of the prospecting idea of abutting joint between the north-west of Pengshan area and the south-east of Ao'xia area. 展开更多

The Alto MoxotóTerrane of the Borborema Province presents a wide exposure of Paleoproterozoic crust, but unlike other continental blocks of South America, its orogenic history is strongly obliterated by late Neoproterozoic deformation.New isotopic and geochemical studies were conducted in mafic-ultramafic(Fazenda Carmo Suite)and granitic-gneissic rocks(Riacho do Navio Suite)within the terrane. The former present zircon U-Pb crystallization ages at ca.2.13 Ga,whereas Sm-Nd data suggests a juvenile origin via melting of early Paleoproterozoic to Archean peridotitic sources.Geochemical data for these rocks are compatible with tholeiitic magmas with some degree of crustal contamination and trace element distribution points to a continental-arc related setting interpreted as remnants of the early stages of subduction. In contrast, the Riacho do Navio Suite was emplaced at ca.2.08 Ga and has highly negativeεNd(t)values indicating crustal reworking. The suite displays calc-alkali to alkali-calcic and ferroan geochemical signatures compatible with Cordilleran magmas. In addition,trace-element distribution as well as discriminant diagrams suggest that the precursor magmas were generated during the later stages of a continental arc or in a syn-collisional setting.Based on our results,we suggest that the studied units might represent missing pieces of a Paleoproterozoic accretionary orogen that formed the crustal framework of the Alto MoxotóTerrane, and that this represents a block associated with assembly of the Nuna/Columbia supercontinent, which is now largely hidden within the Neoproterozoic orogenic belts of West Gondwana. 展开更多

The Qilian Block(QB)is a Precambrian micro-continent located in the northeastern Qinghai–Tibet Plateau.Prevalent Lower Paleozoic granitic magmatic rocks crop out in the QB.A new integrated study of zircon U-Pb ages and systematic whole-rock geochemical data for the Xindian,Dongjiazhuang and Xiaogaoling granites in the eastern segment of the QB constrains their emplacement ages, petrogenesis, and regional evolutionary history.U-Pb dating reveals that the Xindian granite was emplaced 454 Ma,and both the Dongjiazhuang and Xiaogaoling granites were emplaced ca.440 Ma.Geochemical study shows that all granites belong to the high-K calc-alkaline to shoshonitic series and are S-type granites formed by partial melting of continental crust, mainly metagraywacke. We infer that these ca.454–445 Ma granites formed in a syn-collisional setting during the continental collisional between the Qaidam and Qilian blocks. 展开更多

Magba granitoids are made up of granites, orthogneiss, migmatites, metagabbro, mafic dykes and mylonites with respectively porphyritic, porphyroblastic, grano-lepido-porphyroblastic, and cataclastic texture. Mafic dykes and metagabbro occur as intrusives into the mylonitic and granitic rocks. Magba rocks were subjected to whole rock geochemistry analyses and results show that those rocks have the chemical composition of gabbro, monzodiorite, monzonite syenite, quartz-monzonite, granodiorite and diorite. The rocks are metaluminous, display high-K, calc-alkaline to shoshonitic affinities and plot on the field of volcanic arc granites and are formed by differentiation of I-type magma. They are largely situated within the syn-collision to within plate fields, show a subduction—to collision-related magmatism, and suggest their emplacement during the syn—to post-collisional phase of the Pan-African orogeny. 展开更多

The geology, geochemistry of Iroko-granites have been studied and reported in this paper. The study area has been described as of Archaean-Early Proterozoic terrain underlain by migmatite-gneiss-quartzite complex with supracustal rocks.Large number of granites which outcrops in Iroko-Ekiti represent a typical occurrence of granitoids sporadically distributed in the basement and are known to belong to the Older Granite suites, which are attributable to the Pan-African Orogeny(750±150Ma).The rocks occur, mostly as flat and low lying within sparse vegetation.Structures common on and around the outcrops include quartz vein, veinlets, pegmatite dykes which trend North-south,discrete exfoliated surfaces and xenoliths of older rocks. This study reveals that the granites belong to calc-alkalic suites, demonstrate metaluminous nature, and exhibit characteristics of I-type granites. The granite is a distinctive type in that it is relatively highly potassic, has high FeO/(FeO+MgO)ratio,and high average Zr(299.75ppm)concentration with other high field strength elements. The trace elements study implicates pronounced fractional crystallization during evolution of the granites and thus petrogenetically discriminates as Syn-collision provenance. 展开更多

The sub-vertical meso-and micro-structures and fabrics developed in coesite-bearing foliated eclogites in the Taohang (桃行) area, southeastern Shandong (山东), China. The diagnostic structures and fabrics, including penetrative foliation or mylonitic foliation containing mineral and stretching lineations, as well as sheath-like folds, appear to be the development of anastomosing UHP eciogite-facies shear belt arrays hosting massive eelogites. Textural relationships and mineral assem-blages indicate that the deformation of foliated eclogites developed closely after the formation of the massive eclogite, prior to the development of the granulite/amphibolite-facies symplectites and coronas, occurring over a very wide pressure range of (31-8)×10^2 MPa. It presents the structural records of the tectonometamorphic processes as being responsible for the earliest stages of exhumation of the UHP metamorphic rocks. Extensive regional field observations show that the meso-and micro-structures and fabrics recognized in the foliated eclogites at Taohang are remarkably similar or consistent in the whole Dabie (大别)-Sulu (苏鲁) UHP metamorphic belt. This article, thus, supports the idea that the earliest stages of exhumation of the UHP metamorphic rocks, from mantle depths to the Moho or the mantle-crust boundary layering, may be attributed mainly to a sub-vertical extrusion and ductile flow along the subduction channel, belonging to a syn-collision exhumation at about 235 to 220 Ma. 展开更多
