The elevation change of a glacier is an important parameter in studies of glacier dynamics. Only a few ground-based measurements of high mountain glaciers are available due to their remoteness, high elevation, and complex topography. The acquisition from the German Tan DEM-X(Terra SAR-X add-on for Digital Elevation Measurement) SAR imaging configuration provides a reliable data sources for studying the elevation change of glaciers. In this study, the bistatic Tan DEM-X data that cover the Geladandong Mountain on the Tibetan Plateau were processed with SAR interferometry technique and the elevation changes of the mountain's glaciers during 2000–2014 were obtained. The results indicated that although distinct positive and negative elevation changes were found for different glacier tongues, the mean elevation change was about-0.14±0.26 m a-1. Geoscience Laser Altimeter System(GLAS) data were obtained for comparison and verification. The investigation using GLAS data demonstrated the efficacy of the proposed method in determining glacier elevation change. Thus, the presented approach is appropriate for monitoring glacier elevation change and it constitutes a valuable tool for studies of glacier dynamics.展开更多

This algorithm combines the linear feature extracted from principal component analysis (PCA) and nonlinear feature extracted from kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) respectively, and then utilizes the adaptive feature fusion algorithm which is based on the weighted maximum margin criterion (WMMC) to fuse the features in order to achieve better performance. The linear regression classifier is used in the experiments. The experimental results indicate that the proposed self-fusion algorithm achieves higher recognition rate compared with the traditional PCA and KPCA feature fusion algorithms.展开更多

The proposed filter mainly focuses on exploiting different features of edges and noises by NSCT. Furthermore, ICS strategy is introduced to optimize threshold parameter and amplify parameter adaptively. Numerical experiments on real SAR images show that there are improvements in both visual effects and objective indexes.展开更多

Three crucial technical issues relating to the procedure are fully discussed. Firstly, unlike image formation algorithms operating in the frequency domain, a time domain algorithm requires the accurate global navigation satellite system (GNSS) time and position. This paper proposes acquisition of this information using a time-and-spatial transfer with precise ephemeris and interpolation. Secondly, synchronization errors and compensation methods in SS-BSAR are analyzed. Finally, taking the non-ideal factors in the echo and the compatibility of image formation algorithms into account, a matched filter based on the minimum delay is constructed. Experimental result using real data suggest the pre-processing is functioning properly.展开更多

The relatively new transform of multiwavelets can possess desirable features simultaneously, such as orthogonality and symmetry, while scalar wavelets cannot. In this paper we propose a compression scheme combining with speckle noise reduction within the multiwavelet framework. Compared with classical set partitioning in hierarchical trees (SPIHT) algorithm, our method achieves favorable peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) and superior speckle noise reduction performances.展开更多
