Insights obtained from this study may be useful in improving college English teaching in the aim of better preparing teachers to assume teaching responsibilities.This study may also contribute to an understanding of how administrators can improve training programs to better meet the needs,experiences,and beliefs of college students.The information may be useful in improving programs designed to facilitate the development of college teachers' beliefs about teaching and teaching skills and specifically those target the development of inquiry teaching.

On Application of the Student-centered Approach in English Classroom Teaching of Chinese Vocational Colleges

Nowadays, people have been more critical about the traditional ways of teaching and advocate the student-centered teaching approach. This paper focuses on the student- centered approach in English classroom teaching in vocational colleges. It points out that the students' English levels, the current mainstream of teaching in English class as well as the teaching materials in Chinese vocational college are all important factors that influence the outcome of the student-centered teaching approach. Meanwhile, the paper proves that college students can gain more in the student-centered English class. In the end, some suggestions are provided.

How to Apply Student-centered Teaching Techniques in a Large Class

It is very common to have a class of 50 or more students in Chinese schools, and teaching a foreign language effectively to a large class is really hard work. In order to change the teacher-centered teaching model into the student-centered one, Teachers should keep students' needs, interests, and learning styles in mind, apply several kinds of teaching techniques, organize different classroom activities and encourage, praise and appreciate both students' success and learning process all the time. If teachers place more responsibility in the hands of students, serve as "presenter or facilitator of knowledge" instead of "source of all knowledge", they can greatly motivate students to learn the language in a very active, cooperative and effective way. This paper based on the communicative teaching approach;touches upon how to adopt the communicative teaching approach efficiently.Firstly,the author defines the communicative teaching approach,introduces its features and advantages.Then the author discusses the transformation of teachers' roles and the author suggests some activities for communicative teaching approach.In conclusion,the author thinks that Chinese English teachers should be equipped with better professional skills and language proficiency to meet the demands of English teaching.

O-PIRTAS翻转课堂教学法在血液净化中心护生带教中的应用研究

目的:探讨O-PIRTAS翻转课堂教学法在血液净化中心护生带教中的应用效果。方法:选取血液净化中心护生85名,随机分为两组,对照组43名采用传统教学法,试验组42名采用O-PIRTAS翻转课堂教学法,对比两组带教效果并分析讨论差异。结果:在出科考核成绩方面,试验组的理论考核成绩、操作考核成绩均高于对照组(P<0.05);在核心能力方面,试验组的总分及7个维度评分均高于对照组(P<0.05);在自主学习能力方面,试验组的总分及4个维度评分均高于对照组(P<0.05)。结论:O-PIRTAS翻转课堂教学法能够显著提高血液净化中心护生的带教效果,值得推广应用。

This paper focuses on a beginner adult ESL classroom aiming to enhance their participation under the guidance of“taskbased teaching”method. By incorporating three strategies of priming students to elicit their prior knowledge on certain topic, designing a sequence of tasks to scaffold students for the final produce and modelling with lower level students to ensure their under? standing of task instructions, the activeness could see a significant increase.

ASSURE模式在《计算机人体动画》课程中的应用

以经典的教学设计理论ASSURE模式为指导,以武汉大学计算机专业本科二年级两个班的学生作为实验对象,进行了教学对比研究。其中,实验组采用ASSURE模式进行多媒体教学,按照ASSURE模式的框架,分别从分析学习者、陈述学习目标、选择教学方法、媒体和材料、使用媒体和资源、要求学习者参与以及评价修正6个步骤进行课程设计,控制组采用传统的多媒体教学。根据试验结论探讨了ASSURE模式在《计算机人体动画》课程中的有效性。

Unidirectional English Teaching based on Teacher origin is still the main way in our country at the present.Because of the humanistic process of English teaching reformation,man factor has become the important one in the English teaching re search and in recent years for Student-centre English teaching calls for higher and higher,the teacher’s role and position in teaching has been backward to the second importance.But in teaching,the flow of knowledge is not reciprocal,both teachers and students have equal personalities.Taking teaching contents,teaching structure and the language application into consider ation,we may take a new look at the English teaching and reform it in order to improve the teaching mode based on teacher-ori gin and improve the students’learning effect as well.

Engagement in clinical learning environment among nursing students: Role of nurse educators

Student engagement in a clinical learning environment is a vital component in the curricula of pre-licensure nursing students, providing an opportunity to combine cognitive, psychomotor, and affective skills. This paper is significant in Arab world as there is a lack of knowledge, attitude and practice of student involvement in the new clinical learning environment. The purpose of this review article is to describe the experiences and perspectives of the nurse educator in facilitating pre-licensure nursing students’ engagement in the new clinical learning environment. The review suggests that novice students prefer actual engagement in clinical learning facilitated through diversity experiences, shared learning opportunities, student-faculty interaction and active learning. They expressed continuous supervision, ongoing feedback, interpersonal relationship and personal support from nurse educators useful in the clinical practice. However, the value of this review lies in a better understanding of what constitutes quality clinical learning environment from the students’ perspective of engagement in evidence-based nursing, reflective practice, e-learning and simulated case scenarios facilitated by the nurse educators. This review is valuable in planning and implementing innovative clinical and educational experiences for improving the quality of the clinical teaching-learning environment.
