On Evaluating University Teachers’ Morality and Ethics in the New Era

University teachers play an important role in promoting moral and political education among university students.Regular and long-term construction of teachers’morality and ethics will contribute to the success of the fundamental task of cultivating talents.The present study proposes that due to the multiple identities of university teachers,it is necessary to evaluate the construction of teachers’morality and ethics in terms of what to evaluate and how to evaluate?It is expected that the attempt will provide useful guidance for the construction of university teachers’morality and ethics.

Reflections on Teachers’Professional Ethics in Colleges and Universities

Teachers in colleges and universities are the nurturers of the core talents of the country.Teachers’comprehensive quality levels in colleges and universities fundamentally determine the quality of talent cultivation in colleges and universities,the level of scientific research,and the contribution to society.Based on moral cultivation and teachers’professional moral cultivation,this paper discusses the problems in the professional moral cultivation of college teachers and the measures to improve the professional moral cultivation of college teachers.

Teachers’Characteristics and Teaching Styles as Determinants of Students’Achievement in Senior Secondary Schools Civics and English Language in Osun State,Nigeria

The study examined the status of senior secondary schools’students’achievement in Civic Education and English Language in Osun State.It also investigated the Civic Education and English Language teachers’characteristics in the state and determined the teaching styles of Civic Education and English Language teachers in the study areas and finally assessed the influence of teachers’characteristics and teaching styles on students’achievement in secondary schools Civic Education and English Language.The study adopted Discriminant Analysis.The study sample consisted of 600 senior secondary school students,30 Civics teachers,and 30 English Language teachers that were selected using multi-stage sampling procedure.Four instruments were constructed and validated before use.Three research questions were asked and answered while one hypothesis was tested and verified.The results among others showed that more than 50%of the students that participated in the study had high status of achievement in Civic Education while more than 40%of English Language students that participated in the study had low status of achievement.The study also showed that teachers’characteristics pertinent to both Civic Education teachers and English Language teachers were,effective discipline skills(Civics,M=1.20,SD=0.407;English,M=1.40,SD=0.498)and good communication with parents(Civics,M=1.43,SD=0.504;English,M=1.40,SD=0.498).In addition,there was significant influence of teachers’characteristics and teaching styles on students’achievement in Civics and English Language in senior secondary schools(X^2(2)=16.37,p<0.05).The study concluded that teachers’characteristics and teaching styles are major determinants of students’achievement in Civic Education and English Language.

Optimizing the Leadership Styles and Establishing a New Teacher-Student Relationship

There're mainly two kinds of behaviors-Task Behaviors(TBs) and Relationship Behaviors(RBs) among the school leadership styles. TBs contribute to achieving the goals, while RBs help to promote the interpersonal relationships. However, different perceptions of social values and morals will have a great influence on establishing the good leader-teacher relationship and the teacher-student relationship, which is also no exception for the leadership styles. Thus, optimizing the leadership styles will enhance the leader-teacher relationship, and also benefit the teacher-student relationship.

The Effects of Work Ethics, Transformational and Transactional Leadership on Work Performance of Teachers

Teacher performance is an important factor to improve education performance. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the work ethics, transformational, and transactional leadership style on teacher performance. The experiment was conducted in public high school No. 112 Jakarta. A total of 50 teachers were included as samples, where they were given the questionnaires to be filled by self-rating. Data were analyzed with multiple linear regression model and processed with SPSS version 20. Results showed that transformational leadership, transactional leadership and work ethics have positive and significant impacts on teacher performance both simultaneously and individually.

Emotional Value Care to Promote Emotional Communication Between Teachers and Students Under the New Era of Education Mode

The Teacher's Role of Listening Comprehension

Throughout the history of the listening comprehension teaching at home and abroad, the research mainly focus on the correlation of the learner's English listening proficiency and their self-efficiency. Scholars like Alisa J.Bates, Penny Ur. and Widdowson, H. G. have claimed the significance of teacher's role in listening comprehension. For the purpose of proving the necessity of the teacher's role in listening comprehension, based on the analysis of the features of classroom listening comprehension,this paper presents the teacher's role before class, in class and after class. Meanwhile, during the teaching process, teachers and learners are revealed in two way interactive relations and the pedagogical process is the result of the bilateral interaction of the two sides.

Research on Innovative Training of Localized STEM Teachers Grounded in Shared Commitment

The high-quality development of a country driven by talent necessitates comprehensive and practical STEM(Science,Technology,Engineering,and Mathematics)education.The goal of localizing STEM education is to cultivate comprehensive innovative technology talents that meet the needs of the new era.STEM teachers play a core role in this concept,and the quality of teacher training directly determines the development trend of STEM education and the quality of future talents in the country.Therefore,based on the current situation and existing problems in STEM teacher training,the shared commitment to“high-quality STEM teacher training”is employed as a guiding principle,highlighting the role of various elements in the STEM teacher training process.The practical path for STEM teacher training is proposed from four aspects:top-level design goal orientation,resource integration to solve supply imbalance,curriculum construction to improve the teaching system,and sustainable development to enhance professional ability.This study hopes to provide guidelines for innovative training of localized STEM teachers in China.

Discussion on Teacher's Role under Life Threatening Circumstances

This paper first reviewed a controversial case in which a teacher ran away from his students in a earthquake. Several educational ethnic questions were aroused from the case: Is protecting students part of teacher's job? To what extent should it be applied? etc. Then the author aims to answer these questions based on a real case study from philosophical perspective, that is, analyzing teacher's role(i) as a human being;(ii) as a educator;(iii) as a educatee. Finally the paper concludes that teachers should protect their students even under life threatening circumstances.

基于教师教学风格的交通运输类专业新课程建设方法探索

在高校交通运输类专业传统课程教学体系升级转型的背景下,开设新兴课程已成为更新教学内容的主要手段,但也存在建设方式不正确,建设效果不佳的问题。文章创新性地从教师的角度出发,通过调查问卷判别教师教学风格,探索教师对新课程的态度以及建设意见,并基于教学风格提出适合各类教师的新课程建设方法,为转型过程中的专业课程建设提供科学、实用的理论支撑。

基于ICAP理论的教师在线学习认知投入研究

学习投入是影响学习者学习绩效的关键因素。为提高教师专业学习的质量,探寻教师在线学习中认知投入的特征及其与学习绩效之间的关系,文章以参加了在线专题课程学习的80名小学教师为研究对象,基于ICAP理论进行内容分析和认知网络分析,通过相关分析和T检验探讨了教师的认知投入与学习绩效之间的关系。研究发现:教师在线学习认知投入主要集中在主动型投入和建构型投入,呈现出以“总结—阐述”为核心、与“阐述”相关的连接逐渐增强的网络结构,对短期学习绩效及长期行为绩效均有重要影响。教师认知投入的特征与认知网络的演变规律可以为提升教师在线学习质量,进而推动课堂教学创新实践提供参考。
