An Exploration of Higher Vocational English Teachers’Professional Development on Students’Learning Ability in the Context of New Liberal Arts

The concept of New Liberal Arts,a multidisciplinary combined integrator with Chinese values at its core,has brought new challenges to the teaching methods and professional development of higher-level English teachers.Based on the evolving professional development process of higher vocational English teachers in the context of the New Liberal Arts,this article analyzes how English teachers can integrate multidisciplinary knowledge and adopt advanced educational technology in the teaching process.On this basis,it discusses the role of teachers’professional development in enhancing students’learning ability,such as through deepening disciplinary understanding,adopting innovative teaching strategies,and implementing personalized teaching.At the end of the article,based on a variety of pedagogical theories,we put forward suggestions,including continuous professional training,interdisciplinary cooperation,and the application of innovative teaching techniques,which are mainly aimed at helping higher vocational English teachers get rid of the dilemma of the new situation,adapt to the needs of the new liberal arts education as soon as possible,and then effectively improve students’abilities.

Vocational education is an important part of the overall education system.The development of higher vocational education is one of the guiding principles of education in China.The development of teachers is an important support for the development of vocational education.Teachers who can teach theoretically and guide students in practical work are known as“double-qualified”teachers.Building a highly qualified and professional double-qualified teaching team is the fundamental task in modernizing vocational education.Firstly,this paper discusses the importance of“double-qualified”teachers by describing the relevant policies of the Ministry of Education in China.Secondly,it reviews the research works of early scholars.Thirdly,it analyzes the main problems of teacher training in higher education institutions.Fourthly,it proposes five suggestions for the development of a“double-qualified”teaching team in higher education institutions.A high level and professional teaching team is an important support for the high-quality development of vocational institutions.School leaders must attach great importance to the construction of a“double-qualified”teaching team and increase the support in terms of policies,institutional protection,and financial investment.

Practical Strategies to Improve the Quality of Teachers in Higher Vocational Colleges in the New Era

In this paper,practical strategies are proposed to improve the quality of teachers in higher vocational colleges.Research and analyses have shown that the key to improving the quality of teachers in higher vocational colleges lies in the improvement of professionalism,subject knowledge,and teaching ability.Thus,the following practical strategies are proposed:strengthen teachers’moral development,establish a teacher training system,focus on curriculum construction and teaching method innovation,and strengthen the teaching quality monitoring and evaluation mechanism.These measures can effectively improve the quality of teachers in higher vocational colleges and promote the development of higher vocational education.

Survey and Analysis on the Status Quo of Occupational Risk Perception of Teachers in Public Vocational Colleges in an Underdeveloped Area

This paper selects the teachers of public higher vocational college(College A)in underdeveloped areas to participate in the analysis,and conducts a questionnaire survey using the occupational risk perception questionnaire of higher vocational teachers.A total of 223 higher vocational teachers were selected to participate in the survey in order to understand the status quo of occupational risk perception of higher vocational teachers.The survey results show that the Cronbach’sαcoefficient of occupational risk perception scale for higher vocational teachers is 0.846,and the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin(KMO)is 0.871.The education legal liability risk,workload risk,and career development risk are the highest average occupational risk perception of higher vocational teachers.In conclusion,the occupational risk perception scale of higher vocational teachers compiled in this study has good reliability and validity.The occupational risk perceived by teachers in public higher vocational colleges is relatively high.

Analysis on the Development Trend of the Art Education in Higher Vocational Colleges

Higher vocational colleges are an important part of higher educational institutions, and train a large number of high-quality skilled personnel each year and solve the personnel demand problems of enterprises and other employing units. In recent years, art is not ordy a popular program in higher vocational colleges, but also an academic specialty difficult to control in higher vocational education. Because of the special characteristics of art, higher vocational colleges should combine with the future development trend of art education in the process of making a flexible teaching reform strategy, but should be no longer only be limited to the current teaching reform, so that the demands on the training of professional art personnel in a different period of times can be fulfilled.

Studio Teaching Mode of Art Design Subject of Vocational College: A Case Study of “Art Workshop” Teaching Mode of Nanjing Vocational Institute of Industry Technology

Higher vocational education is an important component of higher education in China. How to explore teaching characteristics and advantages of higher vocational education, and distinguish and complement teaching direction of traditional "academic" university is an urgent task of higher vocational college. Studio teaching construction has been accepted by more and more higher vocational colleges. However, there is not relatively mature running mode and teaching experience for the new thing. School of Arts and Design, Nanjing Vocational Institute of Industry Technology actively carries out the exploration and construction of "art workshop" teaching mode in recent years, which obtains better echo and recognition of society, teachers and students. It plays a leading role in research and exploration of studio teaching mode in higher vocational college, and could be taken as a typical case for analysis and summary.

MANAGEMENT AND SUPPORT OF PART-TIME ENGLISH TEACHERS AT HIGHER VOCATIONAL COLLEGES

There is an ever growing number of part-time teachers in higher vocational education due to the expansion of recruitment of students, especially English teachers. This is raising concerns about how they are managed, and supported in their teaching role. In this article, the significance of employing part-time English teachers is discussed.The main findings of a study of good practice in the management and support of part-time English teachers in Guangdong higher vocational education are summarized. Three areas of support are analyzed: college policies and practices; systems for monitoring and evaluation; and formal and informal support measures in departments. The key processes and the problematic issues in each of these three areas are discussed and suggestions are made about the way forward.

新时代高职院校思政课教师队伍建设现状调查研究——基于六省(市)的实证分析

为深入了解高职院校落实《新时代高等学校思想政治理论课教师队伍建设规定》等中央文件情况,掌握高职院校思政课教师队伍建设现状,在全国六个省(市)高职院校开展调研,结果显示,高职院校在全面领导思政课教师队伍建设、建立常态化思政课教研机制等四个方面取得实效,但仍然存在思政课教师教材使用不规范、马克思主义学院等二级机构设置不规范、思政课教师准入与退出机制不健全、思政课教师企业实践活力不足等突出问题。基于调查,着重从统一编写高职院校思政课选修课教材、建立院企党组织“手拉手”工作机制等四个方面提出参考性建议。

“她”的困与解:高职院校青年女教师职业发展之探——基于X省4所高职院校342名教师样本的分析

青年女教师是教师群体的重要组成部分,是高职院校高质量发展的先锋军。聚焦该群体职业发展中的困与解,通过针对性问卷调研和深度访谈,深度拆解“她”的职业发展现状发现,由于职业生涯初期的投入与产出焦虑,家庭分工与教养子女的外在期待,以及高职教育新发展带来的新要求等,“她”的职业发展陷入不同程度的困境,包括职场初始段嵌套重叠家庭生命周期关键段、教学胜任力与高质量科研产出的双重压力、企业实践要求与个体安定感追求的矛盾、难破“工作赚钱与顾家养娃”的两难选题,以及职业发展缺乏持续有效的社会支持系统等。对此,建议通过搭建多元化职业发展平台、构建系统的社会支持体系,以及唤醒职业发展内驱力、培养行动力等途径助力高职院校青年女教师职业发展。

“具身学习”视阈下高职院校工匠型教师培养的探索与实践

创新高职院校工匠型教师培养模式是新时代教育体制改革的重要内容,而“具身学习”方式是促进教师成长,培养工匠型教师的有力抓手。目前,在实践探索中,高职院校工匠型教师的“具身学习”面临着项目缺失、环境堪忧、生态欠佳等困境。通过开发工匠型教师成长的“具身学习”项目、营造环境及形成生态等途径,积极探索工匠型教师成长模式,有助于打破现实困境,进一步促进高职工匠型教师“匠术”的精进、“匠心”的铸就和“匠德”的养成。

边际效用理论视域下高职院校教师评价策略研究

随着跨学科研究的发展,作为经济学中的边际效用理论正逐渐被应用于教育领域当中,用来解释相关的教育现象。试从边际效用理论视域出发,分析当前我国高职院校教师评价在价值理念上人文关怀不够、评价标准上个性化特征不明显、评价主体上评价能力差异性较大、评价方法上单一化现象严重、评价结果上教师职业发展的服务作用缺乏等诸多问题,并针对问题提出应“树立先进评价理念,注重以人为本;坚持优化评价标准,提高指标契合度;构建专业评价主体,增强评价信度;积极改革评价方法,加强综合评价;构建合理反馈机制,善用评价结果”等优化策略。
