To transform from a designed vision to a reality in practice, teachers’ right to discipline, as a component of the right to education, needs tangible support from the criminal law. The criminal law cannot be absent from promoting the rule of law in education. However, in practice, teachers’ disciplinary behaviors are often ex-cessively criminalized, leading to problems such as over-expanding punishment and harming the innocent and even the malaise that en-danger substantive justice such as the tarnishing of teachers’ disci-plinary right and the imbalance of teachers’ disciplinary behaviors. Such overcriminalization has its social causes and normative crux, which is the ambiguity of regulations of teachers’ disciplinary right in terms of the pre-existing law and the unclear positioning of the jus-tification of teachers’ disciplinary behaviors in terms of the criminal law. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out a dual clarification of the chaotic parts of the two laws and determine the corresponding guiding principles, and test them one by one through the hierarchical theory of crime to make the path of exculpation clear. At the level of constituent elements, the exculpation is achieved through the normative judgment of the constituent elements; At the level of illegality, the exculpation is achieved by virtue of substantive considerations of reasons such as le-gal acts, legitimate defense, and victims’ commitments; At the level of accountability, the exculpation is achieved through the value screening of the culpability paradigm. We should reverse the trend of overcrim-inalization of teachers’ disciplinary behaviors by clearing the way of exculpation.展开更多

The former encompasses a wide range of teachereducation initiatives at the levels of diploma, bachelor’s degree, postgraduate diploma, and even master’s degree for teacher licensure purposes. These are widely documented in the literature. What is important is how teacher professional development contributes to bolstering the teachereducator force, which is relatively insufficiently documented due to the very fact that different educational systems have somewhat different expectations of such programs in relation to the ideologies and theories underpinning the teacher professional development program design and curriculum offering. Taking stock of a postgraduate diploma program in English language teaching(PGDELT) for teachers’ continuing professional development with a 31-year history housed at a premier teacher education institution in Singapore, which has successfully graduated over 1, 000 English language teachers for colleges and universities in China, I intend to highlight some of its key features, as a former student and then a lecturer on the program, in order to draw implications for sustainable growth of language teacher education programs, especially those whose main purposes are to prepare teachers of English as a second or foreign language(ESL/EFL) and provide continuing professional development opportunities for such inservice teachers.展开更多

The data was collected by using a learning achievement test before and after implementing social media in the course and a questionnaire for students concerning their opinions regarding implementing social media with the course. The data was analyzed by finding percentage, mean, standard deviation (SD), t-test dependent, and behavioral observation. The result showed that (I) the post-study achievement of 38 students was significantly higher than pre-study achievement with a statistical significance of .05; (2) the students "mostly agreed" on implementing social media with the course (μ = 4.40, σ = .37). After considering in each aspect, it was found that the three aspects that reached highest score respectively were overall image of implementing social media in classes (μ= 4.74, σ = .45). Followed by those that reached the same score, which were, "implementing social media allowed students to exchange experience, knowledge, and attitudes between each other more" with (μ = 4.66, σ = .48), "implementing social media allowed students and teachers to exchange experience, knowledge, and attitudes with teachers more" with (μ = 4.66, σ = .48), "allowed students to work with each other or do more self-study" with (μ = 4.66, σ = .48), "allowed students to study by themselves" with (μ = 4.66,σ = .48), and "implementing social media in classes allowed students to submit assignment, and receive suggestions for improvement at all times" with (μ = 4.66, σ = .48). The third was "implementing social media in classes allowed more methods for students to communicate with teachers" with (μ = 4.53, σ = .51); and (3) behaviors of implementing social media with the course showed that (a) in terms of promoting knowledge, social media helped promoting knowledge between friends and between students and teachers in various concepts, which was the part that linked to practicing living together in society with others; (b) in terms of communication, students had a change to participate in more socialization by debating or asking questions via Facebook; (c) in terms of strengthening motivation, students were enthusiastic to learn and used the Facebook group for communication; (d) in terms of adjusting an opened-learning environment, this promoted the behavior that students would study and learn anywhere outside of classrooms, which helped learners to always learn not just in their classes; moreover, this would form the behavior of being able to work anywhere anytime, improve, and adjust their works by having records of the changes as well; and (e) in terms of supporting and promoting two-way communication, students were able to communicate and exchange information more than just in class and they were also encouraged to compete by producing portfolios and present them on Facebook and YouTube.展开更多

Dielectric fluid compositions are commonly used in electrical devices, particularly in transformers. These liquids have the aim to isolate the various conductive elements of the device and to limit the heating of the equipment during its operation;in order to minimize, or maintain at higher power, the size of the device and to increase the lifespan of it. Concomitantly a number of bio and traditional processing advancements are made associated with pioneering process technologies which are outlined within the prime context of this paper. Enzyme Engineering and Cocktailing add “A New Dimension to Softer Greener Chem-Bio Approaches” which are referenced beyond curiosity purpose. Some of them are possibly “revolutionary” more than evolutionary. Testing has to evolve accordingly to appreciate the challenges ahead in semi-extreme conditions which are relevant to climate changes as well. A significant part of this orientation work addresses and exemplifies these necessary testing innovations, likely adaptable to smart and responsive connecting, and further down the line bigger data role and learning machine evolutionary concepts. One other innovative part of this exploratory work, is the influence that such illustrative localized testing, with integrated sensors/induced-tracers, and online interpretation, may have on the smart grid developments;whereby production, transmission, distribution and consumption of energy can be made more reliable, more effective and more predictive and can also have an impact on the performance, reliability and sustainability of the equipment itself. Those technologies and associated testing can support environmental, technological and societal awareness;helping to revert some trends being climate changes, fossil fuel preservation and other planetary challenges to maintain the overall and localized fundamental equilibriums.展开更多

Those technologies and associated testing can support environmental, technological and societal awareness;helping to revert some trends being climate changes, fossil fuel preservation and other planetary challenges to maintain the overall and localized fundamental equilibriums.
文摘It has been observed that managing job burnout and dysfunctional distress constitute part of the major challenges among special educators, and that empirical data on the management of burnout and dysfunctional distress associated with the job of special education teachers are lacking in the literature. The current article discusses the clinical benefits of a rational-emotive stressmanagement therapy program in reducing the level of job burnout symptoms and dysfunctional distress in special education teachers, using evidence from a 2018 clinical trial study that reported the efficacy of this intervention. Results show the clinical benefits and implications of conducting a rational-emotive stress management intervention, and recommendations are made for future research.
