How to use MOOCs to help universities rather than bother them to improve their education level and quality becomes an important issue. In China, many universities have explored the new modes and approaches for MOOC/SPOC-based teaching and learning. Especially, the China MOOC Association on Computing Education(CMOOC association), established in 2014, has done a set of successful practice and achieved fruitful experiences on MOOC courses development and computer education reform. Based on the practical experiences, a MOOC/SPOC based "1+M+N" multi-university collaborative teaching and learning mode is presented, which is adapted to the real situation of Chinese university education. In the paper, the practices and experiences of CMOOC association are introduced, the MOOC/SPOC based "1+M+N" multi-university collaborative teaching and learning mode and its approaches are described. In this paper, an effective hybrid algorithm is proposed to address the TALB problem with multiple constraints (TALB-MC). Considering the discrete attribute of TALB-MC and the continuous attribute of the standard teaching-learning-based optimization (TLBO) algorithm, the random-keys method is hired in task permutation representation, for the purpose of bridging the gap between them. Subsequently, a special mechanism for handling multiple constraints is developed. In the mechanism, the directions constraint of each task is ensured by the direction check and adjustment. The zoning constraints and the synchronism constraints are satisfied by teasing out the hidden correlations among constraints. The positional constraint is allowed to be violated to some extent in decoding and punished in cost fimction. Finally, with the TLBO seeking for the global optimum, the variable neighborhood search (VNS) is further hybridized to extend the local search space. The experimental results show that the proposed hybrid algorithm outperforms the late acceptance hill-climbing algorithm (LAHC) for TALB-MC in most cases, especially for large-size problems with multiple constraints, and demonstrates well balance between the exploration and the exploitation. This research proposes an effective and efficient algorithm for solving TALB-MC problem by hybridizing the TLBO and VNS.展开更多

Methods: This study was a one group pre- and post-test design. Twenty five students received a 5-hour SIM-PBL program focused on nursing care of clients with hypertension. A newly developed self-report questionnaire was used to assess SE in four areas of the nursing process with a scale of 0 (not at all confident) to 10 (totally confident). The four areas were subjective data assessment, physical examination, prioritizing nursing care and health promotion advices. Results: At baseline, students’ SE ranged from 5.5 ± 1.4 (prioritizing nursing care) to 7.6 ± 1.4 (subjective data assessment). After SIM-PBL education, all areas of nursing process presented statistically significant improvements of SE. The improvements were most noticeable in prioritizing nursing care. Conclusion: The SIM-PBL module was effective in improving the students’ self-efficacy in the nursing process for patients with hypertension. Further studies are recommended in developing SIM-PBL modules for diverse nursing topics and evaluating their effectiveness in various aspects of students’ competency.展开更多

Reports showed that the e-learning market arrived at $27.1 billion in the year 2009 and is expected to surpass $49.6 billion by the year 2014. This paper presents and surveys the perception of students and instructors regarding mobile learning and mobile examination system in some Arab countries. Many universities in the Arab world are under progress in the implementation of this new technology and many have already implemented it. Strong tools are required to improve e-learning system of education. This research supports the transition of education from conventional methods to m-learning and m-exam systems. The purpose of this research is to study the perception of both instructors and students regarding mobile learning and mobile examination systems. The introduction of such systems to the educational process requires people involved to have basic technical skills and to be aware of the benefits of such systems. Results showed different perspectives from three countries;also showed that online examination systems could be very helpful, but many factors should be considered and they should be implemented carefully to guarantee the successful adoption, fairness and reliability.展开更多

This study delves into the practice teaching system based on ability training implemented in normal universities, examining the application of this teaching model in teacher education and the potential challenges it may encounter. Our case study reveals that the Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach can effectively transform students from passive recipients of knowledge into active problem solvers, thereby enhancing their critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills. However, challenges do exist, including ensuring active participation from all students, providing equal opportunities for each student to develop and showcase their abilities, and completing complex projects within a limited timeframe. Therefore, teachers may need to adjust their teaching strategies, and schools need to provide more resources and support. These adjustments can help the practice teaching system based on ability training better serve teacher education and offer students a higher-quality educational experience.展开更多
