Construction and Application of An Interdisciplinary Team Teaching Model for Foreign-Related Nursing English in Higher Vocational Colleges from the Perspective of Ecolinguistics

Under the background of globalization,there are severe challenges in the cultivation of the professional skills of nursing staff,especially the English skills of foreign-related nursing,which has become an important part of the training of nursing talents.At present,most English teaching of foreign-related nursing in higher vocational colleges follows the traditional grammar teaching model.However,as most of the teaching staff for medical English are English teachers who have limited nursing professional knowledge,the industry characteristics of medical English are not fully demonstrated in the teaching process,and the lack of practicality inevitably reduces the quality of medical English teaching.Therefore,the traditional nursing English teaching model in higher vocational colleges can no longer meet the actual teaching needs.There is an urgent need to implement an interdisciplinary team teaching model that completely fits the industry environment of foreign-related nursing English and apply it flexibly to improve the quality of foreign-related nursing English teaching in higher vocational colleges,and lay a solid foundation for professional practice of nursing staff.Based on the perspective of ecolinguistics,this article explores the application strategies of the interdisciplinary team teaching model for foreign-related nursing English in higher vocational colleges,with the view to provide guidelines for the actual teaching of foreign-related nursing English.

The Application of Team Teaching in EFL

Learning English as a foreign language has become a global trend.There is an open debate about employing non-native English speaking teachers(NNESTs)/local English teachers or native English speaking teachers(NESTs).In some East Asian regions like Japan,Korea,Hong Kong and Taiwan,NNESTs and NESTs work together as a team to teach students English.However,it is a relatively new idea in Chinese mainland.This paper review will introduce some basic points about this teaching method.

In the context of globalization,college English teaching plays a vital role in cultivating talents with an international perspective.This study takes Geely University of China as a case,analyzing the existing issues within its English teaching team in terms of structure,curriculum design,and team collaboration.Utilizing the fundamental viewpoints and principles of educational ecology,the study proposes a cluster-based development model for teaching teams.It delineates specific pathways for team construction,aiming to enhance team cohesion and collaborative efficiency,foster professional development among teachers,and thereby achieve an overall improvement in the quality of college English teaching.

The Influence of L2 Motivational Self System on the Willingness to Communicate among Chinese Undergraduate Students in English Medium Instruction Classrooms

This study adopts a case study approach to investigate the impact of the L2 motivational self system on Chinese undergraduate students participating in English Medium Instruction(EMI)programs.Through individual case analyses within authentic environments,the research explores how the ideal L2 self and external pressures influence students'willingness to communicate and decision-making processes in EMI settings.Three participants engaged in EMI programs were interviewed via the Tencent Meeting platform.The study employed NVivo software for qualitative data analysis.The results indicate that the ideal L2 self plays a crucial role in shaping students'willingness to communicate in EMI classrooms.Students with a clear ideal L2 self demonstrate higher levels of participation and engagement,driven by their desire to bridge the gap between their current English proficiency and their ideal level.Furthermore,external pressures,such as family expectations and career aspirations,contribute to the formation of the ought-to L2 self.While these pressures enhance students'motivation to improve their English skills,they may also induce anxiety and reluctance to participate,stemming from the fear of negative evaluation.Additionally,the ought-to L2 self strongly influences students'decisions to enroll and actively engage in EMI programs.While EMI programs align with students'personal and professional goals,individual differences in self-concept lead to variations in communication willingness among students.

Transferring Western Management Knowledge to China： Perceptions of Graduates from an American Executive MBA Program

As is well-known, China＇s rapid economic growth over the past decades has been impressive and this growth has driven the demand of qualified managers and professionals by both foreign and Chinese enterprises. This paper examines perceptions of the graduates of an American Executive MBA program, who experienced the transfer of Western management knowledge through team teaching and virtual student teams. The findings show that graduates are generally satisfied with their overall educational experience and its impact on their career in terms of promotions and compensation. Furthermore, the team teaching and global virtual student teams are viewed as valuable experiences.
